We LOVED the area and being able to walk to the beach so easily and the owner supplied everything we could have needed. It was also so so kind to leave us a bottle of pineapple sparkling wine. We were really touched by the gesture!The apartment did admittedly need some TLC - the kitchen faucet was super leaky and the bathroom sink was clogged though my husband fixed the clog at least. Also a shower door would be helpful. It gets quite wet easily and we didn’t see any bath mats.All in all we had a very lovely stay and an amazing honeymoon! Would happily consider it again. Thank you!

Unit B16 was larger than expected and had everything we needed for our stay. The unit was very clean and comfortable. The location was convenient to all areas on Maui. A good accommodation for the price. Good location - right on the beach - not necessarily good for swimming, but great for long walks with very few people around. The air conditioner worked well and there were ceiling fans in every room. The glass door to the bathroom was a little weird, but we made do. If you plan on cooking much during your stay, note that the sink has no garbage disposal, and there is no salt, pepper or other condiments, so bring your own or plan on buying them.

Nice place to stay away from crowds. Tons of cats here that a neighbor feeds. Also noisy roosters so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

Very close to the ocean! Best part of the property. Has NOT been recently updated, but the owner removed that recently. Every time that I was in the pool, I was the only person using it; loved that. Unit was not clean and very outdated. I believe the owner is going to remedy some of the issues. Floor near the sink is rotten and spongy.

I like the property but, only 2 convenient stores and they close at 8pm, Ubers take for ever to come by and if you want to go downtown it’s about a 25min drive to get to local stores and shopping centers.

Overall, we had a great vacation. But area is SUPER windy. We went to east and west sides of the island and it was much calmer. The condo was ok. It has almost everything you need but I think they could go a little farther in providing more convenient stays for guests. Like there was dish soap but no sponge or dish cloth. Bathroom has only hand soap, but not even small sized shampoo and conditioner. It would be very helpful specially when you arrive late at night. There was only two cooking pots, one really small and one really big. Coffee maker didn’t have any coffee filters that are also would be helpful. There was beach chairs , But I think Some of them was not cleaned for so long it has a wasp nest attached to it. The location of the condo is OK but you have to drive everywhere. There is almost nothing to do in close proximity. Otherwise, we liked the condo It has plenty of linen and towels. It was good for the price we paid.

The apartment is located in a 3 story building which looks like a small hotel. It has a shared swimming pool, a shower to rinse after beach at the beach entrance, a barbeque area, a parking. The apartment is pretty spacious, well equipped and clean. The hosts communicated very well and quckly addressed an issue we had with the sink dranage.The location is really on the beautiful beach with turtles.

This was a nice place to stay. It had all of the amenities we needed. The only downside is it wasn't on the water as I was hoping or it appeared in the pictures. The condo building is next to the water but this unit did not have a view of the water. I love the location and its nearness to the marina.

The condo was very clean and nice. For some reason the owner had the ac unit restricted so we could not control the temp or fan speed. Prop Mgmt company was great and brought in a portable ac unit once they saw the setup. Common area out back door is close and small so you'll have people from the pool, lounge chairs, grilling, etc. in the backyard/ocean view area out your door. Still a great location so just an fyi so you can decide if that's an issue for you. Easy beach access at the park next door.

This property is lovely, right on the beach. It would be nice if there was someplace to store surfboards/paddleboards on the property, but we locked ours on our car, so it worked.The outdoor grills were nice.

Cleanliness was just gross. There was grimy and greasy dust everywhere. It’s old with a lack of up keep. The curtains were falling apart. The main queen bed is old and WORE OUT and broken, the middle had a major sag. The pull out couch also sucked. There was a main light and fan that did not work. They did not provide the basics only 2 rolls of toilet paper, extra extra small dish soap and we stayed for 10days. We were not notified that the water was going to be turned off for over 8 hrs during the heat of the day. However the location is amazing And sugar beach is absolutely beautiful! It was so quiet and full of locals. We will definitely stay near here again just not this condominium.

The location was right on the beach, the facility was dated but clean, and it was perfect for a family with kids.
The only thing that we struggled with was the kitchen items the blender leaked and the toaster did work but you had to manually hole it down and it only toasted one side of the bread. I called management and the blender was handled promptly but for some reason the toaster was not taken csre of. Also the pans were extrenely scratched and very difficult to cook on.
Other than those minor inconveniences it was a perfect stay!

Very comfortable basic condo with a fantastic sand beach sheltered from the trade winds and very little waves. Convenient to all locations on Maui. It is in the landing path for incoming jets, but there are not many flights into Maui.

The garden view was a bit misleading as it is a row of trees. Also the BBQs are communal by the pool.

The property is in an old complex that has not been updated. It is really a studio not a one bedroom as advertised. It is rather noisy due to it being directly in the landing flight path of the airport and waves crashing on the breakwater barrier.
The only positive note was the proximity to the long and beautiful beach.

We arrived to a door that has been clearly broken into. Needs to be replaced. The condo does not overlook the ocean. It’s very small. 4 people max. Cockroaches and cockroach larva everywhere. Needs to be more clear of what you are getting when you rent at this location.
It was fine as we didn’t come to Maui to sit in a condo. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a wonderful week in Maui. This condo is located very close to Ma'alaea harbor and there is a small public beach access in easy walking distance. The apartment itself was clean and worked fine for our needs. The unit is a bit run down and shows signs of age and wear and tear (furniture, trim, broken screen/room divider), but it was comfortable and quiet and wasn't an issue for us. We appreciated the camp chairs, snorkel gear, and umbrella that were in the unit, as well as the fan and AC unit.
There had been a storm a few weeks before we arrived that damaged several palm trees near the pool and caused damage to the sea wall. They were actively repairing that while we were there and it didn't cause any issues with our stay. You are not able to swim in the ocean directly in front of the condo due to rocks and the sea wall, but we could walk a short distance over the rocks and down to sand. We loved walking along the beach stretch in the morning as the sun came up and we were able to see many whales in the water.
Be aware that the available parking in the lot is very narrow and limited, so larger vehicles will have trouble parking here. We were in a full size car and were very glad that we didn't have anything larger as the parking spots are very narrow. We ended up parking outside of the lot on the street one night because someone parked too close to their line and made the spot next to them impossible to park in.

Loved staying at this beautiful rental. Great location between West and South Maui. An easy 15 min from the airport, too. Condo had everything, even bottles of sunscreen that we used. Rent snorkel equipment and chairs nearby at Boss Frog’s. There is a nearby beach on the same road as condo that we walked to a few times. Take the road toward West Maui and stop at the “lighthouse” on left to watch for whales and see the sunset. Bed as comfortable and everything needed in condo. I took one star off for the “secluded garden view” in the name and photo. In reality, you look out on a few scraggly trees that divide this property from the next. But no worries, you aren’t home much. We ate at the pizza place nearby which was yummy. Loved this location! Book it for your next vacation!

The unit itself was fine. We slept there and made breakfast - that's all. It was fairly clean and updated. Plenty of new cabinets.
However...Unit's view is of parking lot where construction was happening. Pool was closed and not available. Toilets and sink had to be plunged numerous times in a 4 night stay. The black shower curtain liner grossed me out - it didn't show the mold and mildew but you knew it was there. White liners are cheap and replacing it every few months would be better than a black one.
When I rented the listing said Ocean Front in all caps. You cannot see the ocean from the unit. Other units ARE ocean front, this one is not.
Parking places were few and tiny requiring us to park on the street.
Furniture is typical condo tropical styles of years gone by.
Windows needed to be cleaned.
We tried to watch the two NFL playoff games on TV but they were not available on what the owner provided.
We did get a good last-minute deal at this property. If I had paid the full price per night plus taxes and cleaning fee and VRBO fee I would have been a very unhappy camper. Hono Kai is not my favorite resort in Maalaea and I am not likely to return here.

Originally had a different hotel. Was overbooked. But perfect stay apologized and put me into another unit that is very nice. Beach front. Relaxing on the porch And I got to see the whales jump 3 times. That was pretty neat to see.

It was perfect for two, close to airport, Costco and walking distance to the marina where we took our dinner cruise. Walking distance to a beautiful beach where we snorkeled and saw turtles. Nice kitchen with every thing we needed. Craig was a wonderful host. We came to stay for the Maui Marathon, the half start line was just up the road.

The condo in beach front, not the unit. Amenities were not clean around the condo. The apartment is old but decently furnished. Full of rules and the warnings sounds like they are threatening you if you fail to follow them.
The place is far from any place. Nothing is walking distante.

Having never been to Maui I had no idea where to stay on the island, so it was only luck that brought me to Craig's condo! This is the perfect spot. Central location to drive to all areas of the island. There is a great beach just steps away with beautiful sunset views.
Craig is a wonderful host who gave us great recommendations. His condo is comfortable and so quiet. I didn't need to wear ear plugs that I always bring on vacation, just in case. The laundry room is located steps from the condo, so bring quarters if you need to do laundry. Overall it was a great stay!
