Nice situation 1 floor up from ground level and looks out to view of water and Kihei/Wailea coastline. Lots of light and ventilation, but protected from direct sun and wind. Lots of towels. Very clean. Not many restaurants or grocery stores nearby.

The condo was absolutely stunning with views that are breathtaking. Amy the property manager was so accommodating and quick to respond, really made our honeymoon great! The condo was well stocked and we loved being greeted by the Hawaiian music playing! The pictures of the listing showed a lot more of the “private beach” right out front of the condo, but it was all water and no room to sit there. Thankfully the condo is in a great location so a quick walk or drive to another beach was easy. The beach chairs, bogey board, and noodles made beach days the absolute best. This stay gave us a great Hawaii feel while still having the comfort of being home like a good bed, couch, air conditioning, tv, and a full kitchen. I would absolutely recommend a stay here!

Wonderful and clean apartment right on the beach. Comfortable and equipped with everything you need!! Pretty close to all the attractions and other nice beaches. We really enjoyed our stay.

This fit our family of five perfectly with the 2 queen beds and futon! Amy was super helpful when my daughter accidentally locked the door for the extra bedroom. Overall super cute place and great location!

We stayed for 5 nights. The view from the lanai was awesome. The location was residential and not touristy. It was convenient to get to other areas on the island including Kanapali, Lahaina, and Paia. I would definitely recommend.

Very good location if you want to be near the beach. You have to go little far out for the food though but that didn’t bother us much. You can watch best sunrise from this property. Good in cleanliness as well.

We had a wonderful time, we arrived in some crazy weather but the property management team worked hard to clear the fallen trees and everything looked great. Beautiful ocean views, nice workspace upstairs, comfortable living room. A great place to unwind. The location is in between Lahaina and Kihei so we could easily access these areas on day trips.

We really enjoyed staying in this comfortable and relaxing property. It was clean and pleasantly decorated. The air conditioning was appreciated. The ocean view is incredible and we enjoyed swimming with the sea turtles.

This until was waaaaaaay better than expected. Super clean and spacious! Check-In/Check-Out, parking, everything was effortless/easy and we had the best stay! Unit is located on the 2nd floor with the best views!!! Having AC was great and unit had everything you could need (beach towels, chairs, umbrella, boogie board, etc...). Would def book this place again and recommend it!

I almost don’t want people to know how amazing this place is or the rate might go up and more people will know about it 🤔 I never write reviews but I just had the best time there! It was clean and comfortable and I just couldn’t get over how close to the beach it was - and what a nice beach! Thank you for sharing your place with me and my family! The beach, the views, and the location definitely outweigh the negatives: uncomfortable beds, and no TV in the downstairs bedroom. The occupants of the downstairs bedroom had to utilize the living room TV. TV was difficult to hear because of distance from the bedroom, and the loud sound of ocean waves (nice problem to have, but nevertheless could pose a problem depending on the bedroom occupants). My husband and I absolutely loved the stay, but the couple that were with us were not as enthusiastic... goes to show that you can't please everyone. I highly recommend this VRBO.

This condo was perfect for our family of 4. Everyone had their own space. The 2 bathrooms were key for my teens. The condo was so clean and bright. Our jaws all dropped when we first walked in and saw the view from the lanai! Every meal was spent on the lanai which was never too hot or windy- it was perfect. And every day was spent with my kids on the sweet little beach right in front of our lanai. We snorkeled and boogie-boarded for hours and hours. The location was so convenient to all of our excursions and it was such a pleasure to return back to this condo at the end of our long days. It was truly perfect, and made our vacation!

Most fabulous beach and longest. We enjoyed the pool. Setup of the condo is great and open. View of pool, ocean, mountains and craters. Loved the location being off the beaten path , near a park , great places to eat and turtle watch. No disappointments at ALL. Sharon and family

Our family had an amazing stay here. From the moment we walked in, we were in awe of the view. Great views from every room/window. While the space isn't big, the layout was perfect for our family of 4, that included 2 teens. Ma'alaea is located pretty centrally which made it easy to take day trips from. The beach out front was never very crowded. We saw a turtle swimming out front several times. We enjoyed eating the majority of our meals out on the lanai. The air conditioning kept us all very comfortable. As big Dodger fans, we were thrilled to have Sports Net LA and enjoyed watching some of the games while enjoying the ocean view. We hope to make a return trip! Mahalo!

This condo was perfect for our family of four; the open floor plan was spacious enough to not feel cramped, even if there wasn’t a lot of privacy due to the open floor plan. Here’s a list, which is how I appreciate reviews to be organized:
Pros:
-There are boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach towels available for use. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are beachside grills for guest use.
-AC was lovely. Yes, the tradewinds are cooling, but sometimes you just want some manufactured cold air.
-There are quarter laundry machines just down the hall.
-The best thing was the location: the balcony was the perfect place to enjoy my morning coffee, or to feel like I was on the beach, without being on the beach. -Ma’alaea is in the middle of the island, so we weren’t far from anything; it served as a perfect home base. Ma’alaea is the 2nd windiest harbor in the world, so expect some waves. It didn’t bother us at all, as it made for an enjoyable time.
-The beach here is sandy, so we didn’t need water shoes.
-I never had a reason to contact management, so I cannot comment on responsiveness. Owners were very accommodating and flexible to our changes due to varying airline schedules.
Cons (take this with a grain of salt…I REALLY had to think about this in the spirit of a comprehensive review):
-The upstairs loft bed is the most comfortable. The “master” bed downstairs is tolerable, at best. The 3rd bed is a futon, so take from that what you will.
-The parking spaces are quite small, so if you have a large rental, prepare for squeeze! (This is not unique to the Hono Kai; parking spaces are small everywhere we went!)
-We were instructed via post-it note to not use the dishwasher. We did not inquire as to why, and it didn’t bother us to hand-wash.
-None of these “cons” matter because WE WERE IN MAUI!
I would 100% stay here again for the location, value, and accommodations. Mahalo for sharing this special place with us! We had the trip of a lifetime.

The owner switched our location the day of the stay due to maintenance. The other location was a 4 th floor apartment with a broken elevator in an apartment that seemed like a retirement community. When we thought we were locked out of our room we couldn’t get in contact with the owner.

I stayed at this property with my family of 5. The condo is well laid out and provided privacy from our children. The room was clean. The beds are very comfortable. The couch in the tv room has some issues due to the hard sections between cushions but that is really the only negative I can think of. The view from the lanai is amazing! Sea turtles seem to like the waters here as we saw several swimming with my children.

We can’t say enough about this condo. It had everything we needed and more. It accommodated my husband and I, as well as our four children (17, 7, 4, 1), and my sister. It was the perfect location in between Lahaina (30 min drive) and Kihei (20 min drive). It has a beautiful view, waves crashing at night, right on the beach, choice between taking a dip in the pool or ocean, had beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, and board games. We really liked the makeshift surfboard table on the patio. It was really nice to have meals and watch the ocean and people walk by. Parking was great. There was always a space available with the exception of the first night we had to park on the street because people double parked but wasn’t a huge deal. I’d recommend buying groceries to stalk up food because we couldn’t really find anyone deliver. All in all, we were satisfied with our stay. If we come back, we will definitely stay again!!
