We had a wonderful vacation but coming home to the condo after a day of exploring the island was a bit disappointing. The condo had lots of thoughtful amenities. It was clean but in disrepair. Window blinds are broken in lots of obvious places. The sliding door gets stuck. The oven was filthy with black, burned crust. It’s also a noisy condo compared to others we’ve stayed at with your company.

Nice unit, although somewhat dated. This vacation was a 1 year anniversary for me and my wife. I expected to sleep late and to do the things that you do on a 1 year anniversary. But this unit did not have a king bed, HVAC or blinds on the master bedroom windows! Making matter worse, the main sidewalk to the entire complex as well as the parking was right outside of of the windows that we had to leave open for the breeze. So every time someone parked late, went to their room talking, left early (4:30am and 5:00am) they woke us up. As for adult activities, we were relegated to a twin bed in the 2nd bedroom. Again, this is a nice, dated unit. But the above missing items negatively impacted our enjoyment. Oh yea, and the floor was filthy

This was our second time to stay at Poipu Makai. You just can’t beat the views from the balcony. The condo is small but very convenient and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal or just make snacks. We also appreciate that there are 2 full baths. Parking is a little confusing at first but after a couple of days we had it down!! We love Kauai and loved our stay at Poipu Makai!!

Being from a cooler climate, it took some getting used to the heat and humidity. The unit had several fans to cool off in front of but no AC. The Rental company responded and repaired the community barbeque that was not working very quickly.

encrusted on the counters, sheet were dirty, sand on floor, bathroom looked like it handed been cleaned. Pool was filthy. Very disappointing and unacceptable. My son his wetsuit on the grounds, we left a message g e for property management and they never called us back.

The condo was nice, clean, and had all the amenities of home. Needed a little updating but overall it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. It does have a washer and dryer which helped out tremendously. The views were amazing though...not beachfront but right on the ocean splashing against the lava rocks with a couple of sea turtles swimming In the area. We went to Poipu beach at about 10 pm and saw about 30+ sea turtles resting. It was an amazing sight. Loved that our condo was less than a 10 minute stroll to the beach. Parking was sometimes a little hairy with a large vehicle but doable. I would like to make a small suggestion: maybe adding a keypad on the door or a safety box to place the keys in so we don’t have to pick up or drop off? We enjoyed our time in our vacation rental.

The condo was clean and the view is even better than pictured. When you step out on the lanai, the view from east to west is amazing. We watched the turtles in the water and the sunsets every day. We arrived late at night & the condo unit is a bit hard to find in the dark. If I could give you directions, I would- but just know that you will have to go on many stairs to get your luggage in. The beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and cooler there were so nice to be able to take to the beaches. There are many, many fans that you can move around where you want them & the cross breeze from the "guest" room is really good. Lots of puzzles there & binoculars. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and stovetop worked great. I recommend this condo even with it's quirky garage & stairs.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo, especially sitting on the lanai for breakfast, dinner, and drinks. The ocean-front location is truly amazing, with a spectacular and unobstructed view. We loved being able to watch the sea turtles and sunsets from the lanai. The kitchen is nice and has plenty of tools, etc., for those who like to prepare their own meals. We would definitely stay here again! Finally, Kauai Vacation Rentals was wonderful to work with. We really appreciated the mini cooler, treats, and shopping bag they left for us. Mahalo!

Spacious, clean, well-maintained and tastefully appointed unit. Nicely equipped kitchen. The view could not be much better. We enjoyed watching the turtles feed every day and beautiful sunsets.The surf crashing dramatically against the rocks was better than more placid surf on a sandy beach. We did not walk to the nearby water's edge. The posted sign said,"DANGER ... Extremely dangerous...Off Limits". Not a problem. Poipu beach is a short drive or a few minutes walk. Plenty of beach gear. The umbrella was broken and there was a small plumbing leak, In both cases, the management company took care of the issue very quickly. There was loud remodeling being done in the adjacent unit and then the above unit. The company offered a very satisfactory compensation for the inconvenience. No A/C, but the plentiful screened windows allowed plenty of ventilation. The cable TV was a little hard to figure out; no surprise.

We stayed at Poipu Makai B2 for a week in November. It was a fabulous location and the condo was great. We enjoyed the views from the lanai and we ate every meal there entranced by the view. Loved that there was a washer and dryer. There is no A/C which we were apprehensive about but really was not an issue at all as long as you leave the windows open! The management company was excellent. We are already planning a return trip.

This was one of our best vacations ever. First, Kauai Vacations Rentals was wonderful to work with. They were responsive to all of our questions and kept track of our special requests and they made checking out as easy as possible. We also appreciated the welcome cooler filled with goodies.Our stay started with the wonderful view of the water which continued to captivate us throughout the week. We just loved getting up and having our coffee on the lanai watching the turtles and being on the lookout for whales. It was easy to spot whales spouting and the provided binoculars brought the action even closer. Then, at the end of the day, we made sure to never miss a sunset which were truly spectacular. All from the comfort and convenience of the lanai!The unit was very well equipped and clean. I can’t think of any utensil that was not in the kitchen. There was even a coffee bean grinder which was a real welcome surprise. The towels were nice and more than sufficient in number for the four of us. We took note of reviews that mentioned the parking difficulty and can add that while we were very cautious when parking in the lower level given the numerous poles and tight spaces, we found that parking on the upper level was a breeze, even with a good size SUV. The unit was quite comfortable with lots of extra touches such as many guidebooks, beach chairs and beach umbrella. We found that the video accurately showed the rooms and the furniture. The only surprise was the lack of a full door to the toilet/shower in the main bedroom. We found that to be quirky but got used to it fairly quickly and would not hesitate to rent this unit again. In fact, given the location, which is our favorite so far of our four trips to Kauai, and all that it offered, it is our first choice for when we return to Kauai which, we hope, will be in the near future. We liked the view and sitting on the balcony watching for whales and turtles. The view from the balcony, living room and kitchen make it worth it. Appreciated all the towels. But it was NOISY. Every foot step in the units above came through loud and clear. Every voice of people talking on balconies was clear. We encountered young people literally skate boarding inside the condo above us, and while the management group offered a different condo for us on that first day, it was not on the ocean as this one was. The skateboarders checked out the next day, thankfully, but then a family with small children moved in, very noisy the whole time. Heard every wail, every foot step, every time the chairs were moved. The windows in the bedroom are hard to open (the bottom ones with the venetian blinds). Lights in the hall, spare bedroom and two lamps were burned out. The coffee pot barely worked. The carafe for keeping coffee warm was broken and terribly stained inside. The headboard of the master bed moves around and is not very comfortable. The overhead fans need cleaning, lots of dust gunk. These are minor, sure, but you know, for the price, things should be sparkling! And replace old, icky appliances. Toaster also did not work very well. Bedspreads kind of dated and old timey. Also no dish liquid, so it was hard to spot clean counters with the provided sponge and hand soap.

Kauai Rentals was easy and professional to work with. Condo was private, clean and comfy with amazing sunset views from the lanai. The kitchen was very well appointed as was the whole condo. Easy walk to the beach and several restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Perfect way to spend our 36th anniversary! Thanks for the cooler and treats!

This condo was even better in person than we anticipated. Very well equipped. Finding the actual unit was a bit of a puzzle and the check-in process caused frustration in that we entered the address of the unit and went directly there before realizing the key pick-up was 30 min. away which turned out to be exactly where we had previously been. Once we were in the unit, we loved the view and location. The Poipu area as a whole was short of workers at all area restaurants (July 2021) which meant no tables and limited or no take-out. We would highly recommend making dinner reservations 3+ months in advance.
