The views were just what I hoped and the home was very well furnished. But one reason I stayed there was the advertised location as being next to the 1 Hotel. I was looking forward to walking over there to dine a few times. But for some reason the hotel was not available to the public. Security did not allow me entrance. I verified their policy with the front desk. They were allowing entrance at a later date but after my departure from Kauai. Had I known this was going to happen, I might now had stayed here.

Loved our stay at HBV. The location was perfect - gorgeous mountain and waterfall views off the primary bedroom and living room balconies (with tropical bird visitors every morning), ocean views from the breakfast nook, and across the street from a lookout to Makana. Hideaways Beach and the 1 Hotel Hanalei beach were close too. We were appreciative of the liquid hand soaps in every bathroom, generous samples of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and shower gel too. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was key - extra bonus for the detergent pods in the unit for us to use. We also made use of the beach chair with backpack straps and took it to the beach with us several times. Unit was clean but could use a deeper cleaning (floor while swept needs a good scrub as do the stair rails, curtains need a freshen up). We know to expect bugs in Hawaii, so we kept the kitchen clean and everything in the fridge, but ants were frequently in and around the sink whenever we returned. Just something for future tenants to be aware of. We found the unit perfect for our needs and couldn’t get over the location - we’ve been to Princeville/Hanalei many times before and think this is our favorite property yet! Mahalo!

Well presented open plan main floor with patio that overlooks Makai golf course. Downstairs has two bedrooms and two bathrooms along with laundry area. All well maintained and clean.
Dealing with property manager was exceptional and was very responsive to texts.
Nearby beach about a 2-3 minute walk down the side of a hotel. Beautiful views across Hanalei bay.

We had a lovely stay at the Mountain View villa. Always enjoy staying in Princeville. Villa layout is comfortable with all the amenities. Close to a couple beaches, all though it is quite a hike down to both. We enjoyed the Hanalei Bay beaches! Would definitely recommend to others to stay here.

Comfortable, pretty free-standing cottage perched on a hillside with great views in either direction! The well kept house has everything you could need - local bath products, surfer microfiber towels, a closet full of beach gear, stocked modern kitchen, comfortable furniture and nice linens, a top notch guidebook with tons of great local recommendations, ukuleles, and much more. It is obviously a place that the owners love and have used themselves for many years, and it shows.
It's part of a golf course community and there are tons of people jogging or walking by, looking at the amazing view from the bluff across the street from the villa. It's about 2 miles to the town of Princeville but you can walk to a couple of restaurants (the golf course grill, a highly rated breakfast place that was closed when we were there) AND it's just up the street from the super fancy 1 Hotel, that has several high end restaurants and bars. The hotel entry post was restricting non-guests from walking in when we were there (spring break week) but if you walk down to the public beach along the side steps (Puu Poa Beach) - the beach bar is right there, and you can access the hotel. Amazing sunset drinks!
One thing to note: if you have little kids or older folks (like we did) the beach access from this cottage is not easy. It's a long walk with a lot of stuff down a steep hill or steps. We ended up driving around for easier beaches, which was fine - just something to know.

Perfect Home base on the North Shore. Fun to take a 5 minute walk to 1 Hanalei hotel for sunset viewing and drinks at the Hotel bar terrace.

The cottage was perfect for my son and I. I was so comfortable and love everyminute of my stay. I arrived in the dark and had a bit of trouble seeing the house number and I ended up in the wrong parking spot because that was also hard to see in the dark. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints.

My brother and I stayed here with our spouses. This was a perfect spot since we like to cook our own meals. The kitchen was well equipped and the lanai made for a perfect setting to enjoy our meals. This condo is free standing and unlike others has a view of jungle, the bay, and mountains. We prefer this side of the island as it is more jungley and seemed less crowded than the West and South sides.

We spent almost 2 weeks at this property. It was just as it was listed very clean probably the most updated of all these villas. It was nice not sharing walls, ceilings, and floors with other tenants as you do in a condo. Loved having a bathroom on each floor and the TV room was very cozy. Didn’t have to use the air-conditioning the whole time we were there just by opening windows and letting the air flow through. My only issue was lack a privacy as some of the windows which face the neighbors did not have coverings and the front door was glass without a shade. If you go to the kitchen in the night, you walk by a clear glass door:-O . Would definitely recommend this property.

This was our 4th year in a row visiting/staying in the north shore area of Kauai, and we picked this condo specifically for its location close to some of the amenities we enjoy. There are great mountain and ocean views throughout the condo, and the unit is directly across from a popular pocket park overlooking the ocean/Hideaway beach - pedestrians peacefully gather throughout each day with visitors watching the sunset and whales in the ocean. You will have access to this prime spot via a 20 yard stroll from your front door! The condo was very modernly updated and was as clean/updated as depicted in the photos. Krisha was a great host and went above/beyond in answering our questions and made check-in a breeze. (she even delivered a new iron/ironing board to the unit on our first day when we asked if there was one somewhere in the unit!)The unit was well appointed and was plenty spacious for my wife and I. There were only 2 very minor items we would recommend to make this unit "perfect": 1) a 2nd TV to be placed in master bedroom, and perhaps some basic local cable access - we had LOTS of rain during our 9 days and had a hard time getting a weather forecast!2) Add a couple chairs for sitting on lower balcony (shared by both bedrooms).

We all loved our stay at the rental. The location was fabulous. Close to a couple of beaches right out the door. Clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. Incredible mountain views! Quiet. Boogie boards and beach chairs. A couple of negatives: not overly stocked in the kitchen ( one roll of paper towels, no sugar, 3 coffee filters, had to buy our own laundry detergent). The furniture is not the most comfortable to relax in at night but we certainly managed. If we ever came back to Princeville we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The tradewinds that blow through the top floor feel so nice. The view from the decks blew our minds, we loved watching the golfers and searching for waterfalls on the mountains. The parking spot is great, easy to find and close to condo. We have traveled to Kauai every year for almost 30 years and this was by far our favorite condo/location.Lots of restaurant options so close and walkable. We enjoyed hideaway pizza, hanalei bay resort bar (happy talk),tiki iniki and foodland (for ready made food and groceries).The management was super responsive and helpful.

This villa looks to be renovated/updated. Just beautiful. High ceilings upstairs with open concept. One can lay on the couch and have magnificent views of the golf course and mountains. It’s set back from the road and is not attached to another villa. Has a small yard around it with trees and bushes. Lots of natural light with windows everywhere. Zero complaints. For restaurants I recommend driving 10 minutes to Hanalei. Tahiti Nui is delicious and affordable. For breakfast, there’s a food truck in Princeville called Saenz Ohana. Get the half order of Eggs Benedict for $12.

This property well exceeded our expectations. This was our first time on Kauai and really didn't know what the area was going to be like. I have to say this property has easily 4 different beaches all walking distance. The layout of the house was great for a family of four and the decks to enjoy the sunset was great and especially hearing of the crashing of the waves.
The house has everything you need: masks, snorkels, fins, two easy fold up chairs, two backpack chairs, big cooler, small cooler. Really great assortment of cooking utensils.
I also enjoyed walking distance to the pizza place which was literally a 3 min walk away and it was great to get a cocktail at the Hanalei Bay One Bar's at the hotel while at the beach.

Perfect Princeville location with breathtaking views of Na Pali mountains and Hanalei Bay. Ocean views to side and a walk across the street. Kitchen provides everything you need. Plenty of towels. Lanai views can not be beat! Only suggested improvement is the beds could use thick mattress toppers for some much needed comfort.

Wonderful property and location. Right across the street is a wonderful lookout of the Hanelei Bay. We saw whales from there! Short walk to beach access and great sidewalks for walking or running. Easy check in and the place had everything we could need. Would absolutely stay here again.

I thought the property very pretty. However, the beach is not accessible for older/less healthy persons. Members of our family were yelled at, and security called, for walking on a sidewalk they apparently were not suppose to be on. In addition, there were tiny bugs that made using the kitchen difficult. I would suggest cleaning the dishwasher as well, smells horrible

The property is in the perfect location and loved the decor. Beds are comfortable. Has everything you might need. A home away from home!! Would definitely stay there again!!
Things the unit was missing-
- No local TV channels, so no playoff game watching
- No vacuum or broom in unit, but there was a dust pan.
- No bath mat’s in bathroom, had to use a towel for this.
We were not notified that the water was being shut off in the morning of our first full day at the property, even though the property management knew the day before.
They did give us the opportunity to shower in a unit that has been vacated an hour before.
Overall, I would still highly recommend based on the unit itself. It has wonderful mountain and ocean views!

I was nothing but impressed with this condo. You could not ask for a better location: back from the road and close to a dead end of the road, so little traffic; almost directly across the street from a cliff-side ocean view; within short walk of a restaurant w/great pizza and salads, and in other direction a hotel w/ public access to the beach; Views of mountains and golf course from the decks!
The place was super clean. The kitchen completely outfitted with everything you could need. Generous and complete gear for beach-going. Helpful books of sight-seeing recommendations. Very comfortable all around.
We would definitely try to stay here again if ever in Kauai again!! Thank you so much for sharing this place!!

Beautiful condo with outstanding views! Home was spotless and we loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings. Excellent accommodations for one or two couples. Host was an excellent communicator throughout our stay. The adjacent town of Hanalei has some great restaurants and shopping.
If I were to make any suggestions, more detailed directions to the condo would be appreciated. It took us some time to find since we landed at sunset and had to make our way there in the dark. The house numbers are small and not super visible from the car.
We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone planning to visit Kauai!

A very beautiful place. Magnificent view from the window. The house is equipped with everything necessary. It's close to the beach, but you need to go down and walk up the stairs. There were significant shortcomings. Firstly, we moved into the house without cleaning and I couldn’t reach anyone for several hours. After the long flight, tired, we were forced to resolve the issue of cleaning. This greatly spoiled the first impression of the vacation. Then the cleaners came, but it was inconvenient because we had already brought all our things. Further. The washer did not work during the entire period of our stay there, which in itself was extremely inconvenient. The owner promised a compensation of $200 for this, but never sent a refund. The house is full of ants. I understand that this is a tropical island and they live there too. However, in Maui or Oahu we did not have such problems in our houses. It’s a great location and has a beautiful view from the patio overlooking the golf course. The only downside was that quite a few of the screens on the windows had tears in them so the mosquitoes would come with a vengeance at night and my family was covered in bug bites every morning. Because there’s no AC and it can feel muggy in the evenings during the summer, we relied on the cross breeze to keep the house comfortable. The agency said they were planning on fixing all the torn screens when we left, so hopefully they did. Other than that, it was great.

This place was everything and more! The location is beautiful and easy to get to fun and flavorful “local” experiences. The deck’s spectacular views of mountains, lush flora and ocean was such a treat. Short walks to beach and hikes. The house was very clean and comfortably furnished. Kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, dish ware, updated appliances and many other essentials and non essentials. The house, entry, supplies and included toys and equipment were all just as described. Wendy was very responsive. The welcoming packet was one of the most thorough we’ve ever seen including a very helpful list of local beaches, hikes, activities, restaurants, shopping. This is definitely a 5 Star experience!

The view from this villa was fantastic! We sat on the back deck New Years Eve and in the distance we could see the bonfires and fireworks that were happening on Hanalei beach. We were able to walk down to both Hideways beach and Pua Poa beach, which is in front of 1 Hanalei Hotel. Every night we took a stroll over to the bluff overlooking Hanalei Bay and watched the surfers and sunset. The beds were very comfortable and the villa was clean and neat. Two things that could be improved upon, the furniture in the living area is not comfortable at all and there was no cupboard space in the kitchen to put away our groceries.

Absolutely gorgeous views from this Princeville VRBO! Enough room for 6 adults. We cooked several meals and had all the pots, pans, utensils and plates, glasses we needed! There is no AC, we did pick up a couple fans. Being from the south I was concerned that the no AC would be a problem, it was not! Stayed in January but temps definitely get into the 70’s. Plenty of breeze and was glad to have the extra blankets provided at night. Only one day was it a little warm. But we were out exploring during most days. U enter the home..(kitchen and living room upstairs,)on a flat walkway from the parking lot, nice to have a reserved spot for your vehicle. Then u go down stairs for the bedrooms. We loved having 6 Tommy Bahama chairs provided to take to the beach , 2 umbrellas and two boogie boards! And 6 beach towels! The washer was out, I knew that prior to arrival. The property manager was so kind and brought us clean towels! The dryer works good! We were able to rinse swimsuits and be ready for the next day! Seriously amazing views of the mountains! We saw waterfalls and rainbows often! Mornings enjoying coffee from the balcony was wonderful! Hanalei bay was a short drive away for sightseeing and local shops. Foodland grocery store is maybe a mile away, at the entry of princeville community. Several restaurants in nearby hotels, wiki pizza and happy talk lounge are in a nearby hotel with amazing views of the ocean! I would definitely stay at this Vrbo again! And this area
