Kiahuna Plantation is a low density beach front Condo Resort. The use of the pool, tennis, pickle-ball, and the amazing Fitness Center at the POIPU BEACH ATHLETIC CLUB are also FREE for our guests.
Nestled within 35 acres of lush lawns and tropical gardens are plantation style buildings, no higher than a palm tree. Our unit is open and airy due to large sliding doors and windows with louvers that open to catch the cooling Hawaiian trade winds.
The master bedroom on the first floor features a King Bed, 2 night stands, a separate dressing room and full bath with tub. The master bath has been completely renovated. A dresser - with a TV on top - and 2 large closets are provided for your clothes including a safe for valuables. A 6' sliding door leads to your private lanai with 2 lounges and a chair & table where you can relax with a good book and listen to the birds singing.. New Island Shutters have been installed in the master bedroom for your privacy.
Our 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds, a night stand, a large dresser and a closet. The guest bathroom, which has been totally renovated is off the hall featuring a large enclosed shower, with a sink inside a cabinet with a granite top.
On the 2nd. floor, the living/dining room (great room) is spacious (20' x 24'). The full-service kitchen was recently updated with new cabinets, a stove, microwave dishwasher and refrigerator. An electric coffee machine, mixer to make your tropical drinks & smoothies, and all the dishes, pots and utensils you need are provided. Next to the kitchen is the dining area with a glass top table and 6 chairs.
Two people can sleep on the pull-out couch in the living room. A 58” LCD TV sits on top of a dresser with cable provided, including internet service for your computer.
Your private balcony is right outside the living room, where you can enjoy eating a quiet, peaceful meal while enjoying the view of the 100 year old banyan tree. There is ample room for 6 people to eat, using the round table & chairs on the balcony.
Recently, the entry and the kitchen tiles have been replaced with 16'x16' tiles, installed in a diamond pattern.
A new barbeque below our property will help you get quick, tasty meals on your table. Even a hamburger or hot dog tastes better from the BBQ at the Kiahuna Plantation than at home. Mango and banana trees right in front of the condo.
However, if you prefer eating out and you don't want to drive, here are some of your choices: The Plantation Gardens Restaurant is right around the corner from our building. Across the street at the Kiahuna Shopping Center are several places to eat. A favorite with guests is Keoki's Paradise with open air dining. Across from Keoki's, a new restaurant has opened that specialize in pizza and Italian food. Or you can eat at The Bangkok Happy Bowl, located on the NE corner of the Poipu Shopping Village. Next to them is a stand, where you can enjoy eating a Puka Dog with a choice of unusual toppings.
One of the newest additions for fine dining is a mile west of our complex at the Kukui'ula Village in Koloa, Merriman's. If you like Mexican food, the Tortilla Republic Grill & Margarita Bar is a tasty place to try.
Around the Kiahuna Plantation property you find a multitude of beautiful blossoms and colorful foliage. Take in the aromas of sweet plumerias, orchids and hibiscus. Watch the palms gracefully swaying in the breeze, and find flowers, trees and shrubs you may have never seen before.
The Moir Cactus Garden is another spectacular attraction on the resort grounds, created almost 80 years ago. You'll discover that this Condo Resort is so much more relaxing than similar places on Oahu and Maui with their hustle and bustle.
A short walk from our condo will lead you to the best swimming beach on Kauai. Feel the warm white sand sift through your toes as the Hawaiian sun embraces you. Gaze at the brilliant blue waters of Poipu Beach and watch as the sunrays dance on the waves. You can go surfing, boogie-boarding, snorkeling, sunbathing, or reading a good book under a palm tree in the vast lawn facing the ocean. Free towels and beach chairs are provided at the Beach Hut for our guests. Surf-and boogie boards are available for rental. Surf lessons are also available.
The famous Poipu Bay Golf Course, former site of the annual Grand Slam tournament, is 2 miles east, next to the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The Kiahuna Golf Course is just north of our property. Other great golf courses are nearby.
Many other fun things, like horseback riding, scuba diving, windsurfing, etc. are available close-by. If you like hiking, we can help you find the perfect trails. You can reach the Waimea Canyon in about one hour by car. Mark Twain called it 'The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.'

My family and I had so much fun staying at the Kiahuna Plantation. It was the perfect location on the South Shore. We got to see Sea Turtles basking on the beach, a monk seal sunning itself and so much fish on Poipu beach.
An added bonus, the Koala Plantation Days celebration was also happening during our stay, which added some neat free attractions.

thank you Volkner and Gina you place was just what we needed. Having breakfast out on the patio each morning woth a view of the big tree was so peaceful.
Even though the place does not have central Ac, we found it comfortable at night.
We found a surf board and 2 boogie boards in the closet. Along with 2 beach chairs and 2 beach umbrellas and a raft and fins.
Thanks for keeping it simple! chill time in Kauai for sure!

The Kiahuna Plantation was a wonderful location with easy access to it's own beachfront. Lounge chairs, towels, and ocean gear available to all guests. Our teenagers loved the Athletic Center across the street with the pool and very nice gym. The condo was very clean and had plenty of room for our family of five. The beautiful tree overlooking the lanais and the sound of the birds in the morning will never be forgotten. Volker and Gina were wonderful hosts with many great travel tips. We enjoyed the most wonderful stay at this perfect condo at Kiahuna Beach! It exceeded our expectations. Beautiful open and airy with lovely cross breezes, gorgeous views from the lanai, spotlessly clean, fully stocked kitchen, we can’t say enough good things!
We enjoyed listening to the surf and birds from the master bedroom in the early mornings, and the beach is a very short lovely walk through the spectacular gardens. Poipu Athletic Club was terrific. Our kids and my husband and I loved the gym, pool, tennis courts and everything else they had to offer.
Kiahuna Beach is postcard pretty and is perfect for families. I especially enjoyed the paved walkways along the beach through the various resorts. Coffee shops, restaurants and shopping are just a short walk across the road.
Our hosts, Volker and Gina were so helpful, friendly, generous and had terrific advice. We were so lucky to have stayed in their home away from home on beautiful Kaua’i and are already dreaming about our next visit and hope we can stay here again!

Volker was so easy to work with and answered all our questions and more during the booking process and right through our check-in. Lots of pluses for this property; it's roomy, comfortable and has lots of cross breezes. Fully equipped kitchen. The mature plantation gardens are beautiful and shady. There's a beach literally about a 3 minute walk away, or a very short drive (3 minutes) to the popular Poipu beach for sheltered swimming and snorkelling. Great location for getting to many adventures! Volker was super responsive to our questions and a great communicator.

The condo was very clean and comfortable, no A/C but fans in every room. Easy to communicate with the owner, Volker, who had many helpful tips and suggestions. The grounds were beautiful and it's an easy walk to beaches. We had delicious meals at Kenji Burger in Koloa Old Town and Keoki's Paradise in Poipu. Big Save Market in Koloa had fresh produce. We had a wonderful time!

We had a great experience renting Volker and Gina’s home in Kiahuna Plantation. The unit has plenty of space for a family - a living room, kitchen, and balcony upstairs; then two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a patio downstairs. We could not have been more pleased with our stay in this condo. It had everything we needed, and was conveniently located for visiting all the must-see sights on Kauai. The condo was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Kiahuna Plantation has a beach just a 2 minutes walk away, and also has a gorgeous tropical garden. Volker and Gina were wonderful to deal with, as they gave us clear instructions about the condo and terrific tips on where to dine. They even surprised us with a dining gift card at a great local restaurant, which we really enjoyed. You will not be disappointed if you book this condo.

We absolutely loved this area and the property is beautiful and well maintained. Easy access to the beach and great option to enjoy the athletic club and pool across the street. The owners were so helpful and gave us many great tips. My only very minor comment is a lack of air conditioning in the unit. Breezes are (mostly) plentiful but it does get warm in the downstairs bedrooms. It didn’t detract from the experience at all but something that I noticed. All in all a great stay and would not hesitate to book again!
