Our stay at this condo in Maui was everything we hoped for and more. The space was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived.The view was absolutely incredible—one of those places where you naturally slow down and just take it all in. Each morning started with a coffee on the balcony, listening to the waves roll in and watching surfers out on the water. It was peaceful, grounding, and easily our favorite part of the day.The location couldn’t have been better. We were within easy walking distance to great restaurants and local shops, which made everything feel effortless and relaxed—no need to rush or plan too much.Overall, this condo was the perfect home base for a Maui getaway. Comfortable, convenient, and with a view you won’t forget. We would absolutely stay here again.

I have been staying at this property for many years as it is an ideal location to the restaurants, parks, beaches etc. I stayed at this unit many times but this is the first time since the complete remodel and the place is amazing now. We flew into Maui the morning before the historic Kona Low storm hit. Thankfully, the wonderful housekeeper allowed us to drop off our groceries before check-in, so our food stayed cold when the storm hit and we lost power. The condo felt very safe, and we were grateful to have a secure place to stay during the worst of the storm. There were even candles available, which helped keep the space lit the night we were without power.Unfortunately, it rained for much of our trip, but we still made the most of it—spending time in the hot tub, reading, and watching whales from the deck and pool area.Sam was fantastic; he checked in on us and offered help in any way possible. Once Kihei began to recover, we were able to walk to happy hour and nearby shops. We also enjoyed short drives to Wailea for açaí bowls in the mornings and walking around that area, especially since Kihei was hit hard and required significant cleanup during the first half of our stay.The condo is well maintained, the AC works great, and the pool area is wonderful. There was plenty of room for our family of four, and the two queen beds in the second bedroom are definitely a bonus.We truly appreciated Sam’s hospitality and how accommodating he was. We would absolutely stay here again—five-star host!

Before our stay, I reached out to the property owner to inquire about the available items in the kitchen, as this was an integral part of our stay and I received no answer. Upon check in, I was pleased that the floor was nice and clean, and the sheets and towels were as well - good cleaning crew!In the morning after our first night, we discovered what we call a B52- a 3" flying cockroach IN the bed. It was discovered that the sliding glass door and the screen both do not stay shut, they roll open. Additionally, a screen is missing from the bedroom. We had to wedge things into the lanai screen to keep it from opening and one night our inventions failed and the screen rolled open - we were inundated with mosquitoes. This property owner is vocal about how to reduce pests, saying not to bring cardboard into the condo. Intrigued by the "creepy upstairs", we peered in to discover a whole room with a bed and lots of cardboard boxes upstairs, perhaps where these pests are coming from/living? Another reason for booking was the washer, however the first load came out smelling like mold despite being removed promptly and upon looking the washer has mold inside. The dryer is vented to a kitchen cabinet where using it left us coughing and the wooden drying racks out on the lanai were falling down. The microwave stopped working. There was not enough toilet paper. Hot tub wasn't working. The view was great but we paid too much to have these avoidable issues :(

We had a wonderful stay! The walls are thin & the neighbors were having spring break parties all week & smoking from their balcony. Other than bad neighbors, it was a great time! Pool & hot tub were awesome. Kids swam all week! We played basketball, pickle ball, and did some boogy boarding. Thanks for providing these activities. Easy walking distance to shops & restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Can’t beat that sunset view!

Love the location being located near great beaches, food, and parks. The communication was excellent with the owner and the unit was very clean and cozy with a million dollar view. We spent more time than we would have liked in the condo due to the "Kona Low" where we felt very safe and were thankful for the swimming pool. We will definitely be back soon with fingers crossed for better weather.

We had planned a special trip to Maui, but due to the storms in 2026, our travel quickly turned into a stressful and disappointing situation and it became clear we would not make it to Maui at all. Seeing the devastation on the island only added to the emotional weight of the experience.Throughout all of this, Leif was exceptional. He stayed in close contact with us every step of the way, showing genuine care and concern—not just as a host, but as a person. After several days of uncertainty, when it became clear our trip was no longer possible, he made the incredibly generous decision to refund our entire stay, even though he was under no obligation to do so.That level of integrity and compassion is rare. While the property itself looked wonderful, what truly stands out is the character of the owner. In a difficult and chaotic situation, he chose to do the right thing, and that meant far more to us than any accommodation ever could.We are incredibly grateful and would not hesitate to book with him again in the future. Our room had an oceanview and it was very quiet, even though there were a lot of people staying there. You wouldn't know it by the way the rooms are set up. We (a group of 4) had a wonder stay here at Shores of Maui. Quiet, nice sunset view from the balcony and from the pool area. We did not really use the beach amenities however they’re there for you to utilize. Plenty of towels to use for the pool/beach for all guests. Bed was comfortable and AC worked well. Having the washer and dryer in unit was convenient.Grocery store (Foodland) is within walking distance, along with beach park, bars, and restaurants. Nice, paved pathway for running or walking while watching the sunrise or sunset. Rooms for improvement:-Nonstick pans and pots were scratched (no fault of owner) but should consider replacement for safety reasons -Cleaning and sanitizing the washer (rubber gasket around door was quite dirty)-New knives

Great place for the price. Very comfortable and had plenty of towels, bedding and pillows. Loved that we could walk out front and across the street to the beach and long pathway thru the park. Also many bar, restaurant, and food truck options within walking distance along with Foodland grocery store. Lastly really liked the layout with bedrooms being separate ends of the condo from each other great for 2 couples with a little privacy.

The view was wonderful! But we were too nervous to spend much time there because the rule book was so extensive with 300 dollar fines for anything (using sunscreen anywhere but in the parking lot for example, no sand in the house - despite being accross from a beach, etc). We cleaned vigorously daily and followed all the rules but it did not have a welcoming energy. The pool was freezing cold despite being advertised as heated and we were only able to get into the pool once during out stay because the hot-tub overflowed into it one day. Each time I reached out to the owner they were helpful but curt and seemed to be bothered by questions. It overall worked out but I've had more relaxing experiences elsewhere and won't be looking to book there again. for 500 dollars a night we could have stayed at a hotel and felt welcome and comfortable. It was overall fine. the location is wonderful.

One thing I'd say is that you should provide extra blankets. The air vents in bathroom need to be cleaned so they work. The bathrooms should be cleaned better, overall it was a fantastic experience and trip.

Gorgeous, well appointed property centrally located in the heart of Kihei. We did have a car but was able to walk to great beaches, restaurants and shopping. Parking was never an issue.The property has an amazing ocean view with washer and dryer in the unit which came in handy after being on vacation for 10 days.It was everything we hoped for and we will stay there again.Thank you Jamie

Comfortable and well-appointed condo with a beautiful view of the beach and pool area! The South Maui Gardens food truck and entertainment area just a block was very convenient. We drove to swimming beaches due to the amount of stuff that we had, but access to the Charley Young would be walkable for lighter travelers. As the saying goes, "location, location, location." If you like Kikei this is a great spot as it's just a short walk away from the South Maui Gardens food truck area where we ate a lot of our morning and some evening meals as they are all excellent.However, now that we've stayed at Shores of Maui, I would stay in this unit again as there are better choices available. One of the main issues for us was the blinds in the bedroom, which do NOT block out the bright outside light in the outer hallway, so the room never gets very dark. The bed seemed smaller than a queen and frankly wasn't very comfortable. Same for the pillows.The bathroom situation is awkward as the vanity is SO close to the toilet; poor design. The shower was OK, but had very little water pressure. And if you want hot water in the sink to shave you need to run the faucet in the kitchen to get enough flow to activate the tankless heater. Cold water in the bath sink had very little flow. And you get ONE roll of TP for your stay. No paper towels in the kitchen, no sponge to clean any dishes.There's a large TV in the living room but the speakers are so bad it's not worth watching, and the instructions for the TV are out of date, so you'll have to figure it out if you have an issue with the network like we did. And don't bother sitting at the counters to try and eat or work on your laptop as the clunky wooden stools are very uncomfortable.Bottom line: look elsewhere.
