This property was wonderful and had everything we needed for our vacation. It was so well stocked and had so many "extras" that we weren't expecting. Everything from all the beach gear (umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, snorkels, coolers, etc) to kitchen supplies (plenty of spices, keurig, tupperware, lots of cups and dishes, filtered water) to other supplies (laundry soap, toilet paper, even had extra sunscreen, etc).
The communication with the owner was top notch. Even when there was an issue with the microwave, he got it replaced asap.
The place is showing its age a bit and being that close to the ocean, things can get rusty faster but otherwise we were very happy with our stay.
Other pros: beds were comfy; huge bedrooms; amazing view from the balcony; great location (short walk to Barmuda triangle and foodland); pool was amazing; a/c and fans worked well to keep the condo cool.

Cons — Missing smoke detectors (we installed two for our stay), no carbon monoxide detectors, small brown roaches, improperly vented dryer- tons of lint on ceiling, balcony did not feel secure & moved when standing on it. We didn’t use it because of this. Laminate counter’s taped together, masking tape was holding the floorboard down to the floor in master bedroom, dirty and dusty furniture, pipes make a gurgling noise every 20-30 minutes in master bedroom, entry closet doors broken, light/vent not working in master, mold/mildew on ceilings & vents in both bathrooms, guest bathroom floor has water damage and smells like mildew Front door- security screen is very difficult to open. Must pull and then unlock (my children couldn’t do it) this is a safety hazard. Security screen doesn’t latch when you exit. Pros— Location is great Beaches are nice Grounds are nicely kept Pool area is maintained nicely & grills cleaned & Boogie boards provided. Host wanted us to schedule a handyman & cleaning appt. Or have them come while we were out. We were way too busy for this and did not want a stranger in the unit. He refunded the cleaning fee & first night stay. The next afternoon he said we could pack and find somewhere else to stay while he addressed all issues. This was not an option as we had a ton of activities planned for the week. We decided to spend most of our time out of the unit and only slept and showered there. I would not stay here again.

This place was perfect for our family! The kiddos enjoyed the pool on the property, and my husband enjoyed grilling overlooking the ocean. The beds were comfy, the house had everything we needed, including everything for days at the beach, and we absolutely will stay again next time we’re in Maui!

This is a large condo - love the 2 queen beds in the second bedroom and the king in the other! My teens had ample space for themselves. The condo can use some upgrades/remodeling (bath, cabinets), but it was clean and suited our purposes nicely. Well equipped with beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. and walking distance to surf board rental, restaurants and stores - and steps away from the beach!

This was one of the best places we’ve stayed. Properly was immaculate. The location was prime with easy walking distance to restaurants, beach ,activities and shopping. The pool and hot tub were clean and spacious. The tennis and pickleball courts were a wonderful addition.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We easily found the property and was excited at the many food options within walking distance. The beach park area was across the street for a front row seat at gorgeous sunsets. Beds are extremely comfortable. The complex is quiet for relaxing around the pool and hot tub area. This a second floor condo so views to ocean for whale watching was perfect.

Look no further, Sam's property offers everything you'll need for your Maui stay. The newly added AC was welcomed after my first stay at this condo was slightly warmer than I'd care for (we're from the pacific NW and don't tolerate heat as well as some).
The condo has a large TV that hooks up to streaming. We're big NBA fans so that's a must. Comfortable beds and enough seating for meals.
A couple things I'd love to see added - additional beach chairs. The condo sleeps six, but there are only two qdult size chairs.
I'd also love to see an update set of pots/pans/baking dishes. I remember the cookie sheet from my last stay in 2019, it's seen better days!
Sam and his housekeeper are super responsive.
Lovely complex with a great pool that's 8ft deep and hot tub.

Property location is ideal for Kihei. Sam was a great host. After an initial hiccup, Sam was great in making sure we were comfortable in his condo. The unit has been well taken care of for the most part and we were completely satisfied with our stay. We would have no problem recommending this place for others to stay at.

We had the time of our lives and Sam’s place is the perfect central spot for exploring all of Maui. If you’ve never been before Kihei is the place to go. Sam’s place is walking distance (like two blocks) to a great surf school (Maui Waveriders) a great snorkel/dive shop (Maui Dreams) an excellent breakfast/lunch place (Kihei Cafe). And just two more blocks down is a great nightlife area and tourist shops. The place is clean and super quiet. The pool and hot tub are well kept and the grills are a great addition. Sam’s place has all the stuff you’ll need for the beach. And Sam is easily the best host I’ve worked with out of all the places I’ve stayed. Communicates great and even helped me with a spot to store my bags until closer to my flight time on my day of checkout. This was the best vacation we’ve ever had. I was there for two weeks solo and as a female solo traveler I felt safe in and around the complex. We will definitely go back to Sam’s place next time we visit Maui. Mahalo!!!!!

We found the location to be perfect for our stay. We did the Road to Hana and Summit at Haleakala on two different days. Surfed right across the street and enjoyed a quick dip on the pool. Sam and his local contacts were easy to contact and were very responsive and helpful with any questions. We even realized we had left a couple things behind and were able to make arrangements to swing by days later to grab them before flying home. Kitchen was well equipped. Having two full baths and laundry facilities was super helpful for our party of six. Condo is in good shape and very convenient! Could use a good deep cleaning but was generally tidy and served us well for our stay. We loved having a cooler, boogie boards, beach umbrella and chairs as well as wagon to haul it all at our disposal!

We couldn't have been happier with this place. The location was the best possible for beginner surfing- just a short walk down the street to get surfboards and then walk across the street. Charlie Young Beach is beautiful and has nice shade in the mornings and a good spot to snorkel. Shops, restaurants, and grocery stores are close. The condo itself was great- air conditioning in every room, nice washer and dryer, and well stocked kitchen. The condo was very very clean and the grounds and swimming pool were well maintained. We noticed right away that the carpet was worn in the master bedroom, but that didn't bother us with everything else being so nice and knowing it was clean. I looked at lots of places before booking and this was a great deal!

This property at MAUI Shores was a very nice experience. We stayed for 10 days and had a great holiday experience. We really enjoyed having the BBQ area to make meals everyday and loved being able to walk to all the stores and restaurants in Kihei. Very central location!

This was one of the best condos at Shores of Maui. Sam takes great care of the unit, making sure it is sparkling clean for all the guests. Location is one of the best in my opinion. Our family loves Kihei/Wailea beaches. So much more of a Hawaiian feel compared to the over crowded Kanapali. Unit is literally right across the street from a surfing beach and steps from great cafes, shops and restaurants. Can’t go wrong with staying here.

My family of six stayed comfortably at this condo. My kids loved the pool and we all enjoyed the beautiful views and peace and quiet of this community. There was one issue with a broken box spring when we arrived and Sam took care of it ASAP. He was a great host! Always answering questions and concerns quickly and was flexible with us about check in and check out with our weird schedule and fights. The personal service was very appreciated. We would definitely return.

My family of 3 plus another couple had an awesome time at Sam’s VRBO! Sam was a great communicator throughout the process of reserving, and the weeks leading up to us staying there. The location was exactly as described, clean, right across the street from the beach, and very close to the pool! The location is also walking distance to a bunch of nice little restaurants and a beach park.

The three A/C units (one in each room) were awesome and made things very pleasant sleeping in the unit. We had a lovely stay in this condo. The location was great if you want to get in any surfing/surf lessons and there were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The owner was attentive and contacted us to make sure we got in to the condo with no issues and the condo was well-maintained. The pool was lovely as well and we spent a lot of afternoons by the pool when the wind picked up and we did not want to be on the beach. I would recommend this condo to a friend!

Sam was terrific to deal with, all the way down to providing directions to the condo from the airport and the locations for dining and things to do and see while in Maui. Upon arrival at the condo it was quick to see that the VRBO posting was exactly as Sam has described, equipped with all the household amenities needed for your stay as well as items for the beach including beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella. The location of the condo I would describe as the best location on South Kihei, perfectly situated across from Cove Park and a quick walk to the beach. The second floor view from the condo provides the perfect setting for morning coffee or a evening cocktail overlooking the pool and a view of Cove Park. Thank you Sam for a great vacation, would not hesitate to return.

We brought our 4 little kids to Maui and had a friend and her son stay with us (8 in total). The condo accommodated all of us easily. The condo was nicely renovated and had great appliances including a large fridge for all of our groceries. The location of the condo was really great as well. It is very close to restaurants, shopping, and a grocery store. The best part of the condo was the pool and hot tub looking out to the ocean and being able to whale watch from the pool or condo. Also the 3 brand new Weber grills that looked out to the ocean are any barbecuer's ideal view!
The owner was really great to work with. He was friendly and responded to emails and texts rapidly.

We enjoyed 2 weeks at The Shores of Maui during Christmas , the condo was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenage kids. As stated in other reviews the condo is nicely equipped with everything we needed. We arrived to an inviting and clean environment. The pool area, including the barbecues are kept very clean as well. There is a great view off the 2nd story balcony of the ocean and pool area, we spent a lot of time just enjoying the outdoor space. The location is great, as there are many restaurants, shops, and beaches within a short walk, also centrally located to many attractions and excursions on Maui. Sam, the owner was very helpful , both previous to our stay and during. If we ever have the opportunity to visit Maui again, we definitely would love to stay at these accommodations and would highly recommend this condo to anyone else planning a trip to Maui. Thank you Sam for opening your home to us, we enjoyed every minute of it.

This condo is located right across the road from the shore in Kehei. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We had trouble signing on to the internet but the owner and on site manager were very responsive and took care of this issue right away. You are in walking distance or short drive to shops and restaurants. We would stay here again and refer this location to our friends and relatives.

My family and I stayed here for a week and it was great! We had 5 people and there was more than enough space for all of us. The layout of the condo was perfect. The views were spectacular. The grounds of the Shores of Maui were very well kept and the pool area provided a great place to relax.
The location was amazing. We were able to paddleboard in the ocean right across the street. We walked to nearby restaurants, shops, bars and grocery stores. Very easy to get around.
Overall, this condo far exceeded expectations for all of us. We would hands down come back again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely updated 2nd floor two bedroom unit.
This condo overlooks the swimming pool and has a view of the beach. We went with another couple and there was plenty of privacy with the bedrooms separated by the kitchen.
The owner has plenty of games, videos and books available. Along with 3 TVs that we never turned on. The WIFI worked great.
He and his property manager are very responsive to take care of the little last minute things. The owner also leaves a list of nearby restaurants. The coffee shop down the road opens at 5AM for your first morning early wake up.
Very good value for the money, new towels, beds and bedding.

This condo is in the perfect location to walk to many shops, restaurants and parks! It's also right across the street from a great beach for paddle boarding and surfing with mellow waves. The onsite pool was fun to use, especially with the kiddos. We stayed with another couple and their toddler. The rooms are a good set up since they are separated by the kitchen. I've stayed in Kihei before and I definitely preferred this location! I would highly recommend this location. I will most likely book this same condo in the future!!

We stayed at Sam's condo for a week and loved it. The condo was very accurately represented in the pictures, a lot of space for the 4 of us. The location of the condo was within walking distance to restaurants and shops and a great beach to take our young child. Not overly touristy, it felt more like a neighborhood. Sam was very helpful, answered all of our questions and provided good tips on where to go. We also met a lot of friendly neighbors in the condo, they even host a Thursday gathering at the pool which we unfortunately didn't make it to, but met the neighbors that hosted it who were very nice and also gave a lot of great tips of things to do around the area. We plan to come back and rent this space again! Thanks Sam!
