Overall our stay was nice. The location is great for the beaches and nearby shopping etc etc. The only issue that wasn’t completely clear was the cooling of the condo. The listing does indicate there is AC. However, the unit is located in the bedroom, and only sufficient for cooling the bedroom, if the windows and doors are kept shut. It cannot cool the entire condo. The cross-breeze through the condo was great most of the time, but if you are someone who prefers to have a cool place to relax, you may want to book something with central AC if at all possible. Otherwise the condo stays quite warm, even into the evening, despite having all windows/doors open to allow for the breeze. That being said, I realize very few places have central AC, but it is something that seemed fair to let people know so they are not taken off guardOtherwise, it is furnished comfortably, the kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice having such a close drive to the beaches and old Kōloa town. Also, the unit has all the beach chairs, umbrellas and even snorkeling gear you could possibly need for a nice Hawaiian vacation. Overall we had a positive stay

Great location and close to Poipu. Tremendous view of the ocean. Parking was easy. The building itself is dated, but has a nice pool. Check in was ok, it was slightly annoying to have to pick up a key at the rental office beforehand, whereas most other properties have digital locks to get in. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the kitchen items - we had to wash every cup, bowl/plate, pot, and utensil before we could use it. The shower head also needed a good scrubbing. Still a good space though.

Great location easy walk to Poipu beach. We choose not to cook but the House is nicely stocked if you wanted to. Really nice to have the air conditioning. Maureen is very communicative and she really wants her guest to have a great experience.

Everything was top notch with this condo. Sunset views were fantastic. If I had to say anything negative, it would be there was no air conditioning. We had one night it was a little stuffy in the condo because of a hurricane blowing to the north a ways off, which made the wind shift instead of blowing in and keeping the condo cool, but that is Mother Nature's fault...not the Owner's. It was a pleasure staying there!

The VRBO description of this property is good. The owner has intentionally not updated the place to the 2000's - It looks similar to how it probably looked when this vintage condo was built. If you want modern, be prepared to pay considerably more somewhere else. If you want wonderful ocean views, sleeping to the sound of waves at night instead of a droning air conditioner, and a perfect location for your Kauai holiday - this is it! The owner is very responsive should there be any problems. She has provided beach chairs, towels, ice chest, pool noodles, etc. - everything you could possibly need. And if you do any cooking or bring home leftovers, there are plenty of utensils and storage containers too.

This unit was described as 5 star amazing condo with AC. In reality it was totally the opposite. I would rate this condo a 2 star and I would I’m being nice.
The AC absolutely did not accommodate to beat the weather. We had bugs in the bathroom. We found a (sewing needle) in our comforter . Yes you heard right!
That’s when I call the property manager. Her response to me was ( I can see where that can happen ) .
I was applaud with her response. But I knew my misery what not her concern . Even though she did ask me ( what can she do for me ). Maybe a refund for advertising a stay that is clearly not a 5 star with AC. Oh did I forget to mention the vent to the dryer goes directly to the bathroom wall behind the door . Yes it blows HOT air . When Kauai temperature is 80 and above with humidity. We all come to visit from all parts of the world. The last thing people want experience is false information.

Total scam. We did all dishes, left our towels in a pile on the floor, and even vacuumed, despite paying a cleaning fee. They also tired to claim we broke a blind, then admitted it was ZIPTIED TOGETHER “TO SAVE IT’S LIFE” before we got there. KWe are two lawyers in our 40s. We don’t leave places messy and we don’t break things. Do not book here.

What an awesome place and the stay was perfect! Incredible location! What i loved most about this was the ability to head to the beach in a couple minutes, in either direction, and if you're a trail runner or just like to hike you are in a perfect spot. When we first arrived i was worried it was going to be to hot as there's no AC, but at night the breeze left it very nice and listening to the ocean with that breeze, babies don't sleep that good!

We noticed a neighbor condo had a screen door on the entry door. That would be a nice addition to this unit as it would help allow the cooler breezes from the North to flow thru the unit. We had such a great stay here. It was clean, the location was great, quiet, and it had all the amenities (i.e., cooking utensils, ice maker, cleaning supplies, beach towels, chairs, washer and dryer, even a cooler!) The no AC is really not an issue as there were plenty of fans. It did not bother us. This condo was everything we could have asked for and more!

The perfect Poipu location, on the highest floor with breathtaking ocean views for miles! The apartment was immaculate and thoughtfully furnished...right down to ice water and ice cubes upon arrival! This is a smaller, vintage complex (which personally I love!) so you get a unit that has more room overall and a colorful Hawaiian character than some bland resort. The grounds are pristine, including a pool that changes color! However it is not a new property, but impeccably maintained. The unit itself was entirely upgraded and looks exactly like the photos. There was an assigned parking space and so easy to load and unload. Personally I love an elevator! There is no way I could carry my luggage up five flights, so that was super important to me. There wasn’t an AC but I immediately opened the windows and the trades and fans kept it cool. A wonderful unit!

We have stayed at Sunset Kahili for 5 years each June and we love the location, the ocean view and the amazing trade winds that keep the condo cool. My wife and I were on our Honeymoon. It was our firat time visiting Kauai and we had a great time. This VRBO offered us a great location in Poipu. Its walking distance to Poipu beach where we spent a lot of time snorkeling and enjoying the weather. There were great views of the beach and sunset from the balcony. Everything was clean and well maintained. It was great for my wife and I. We even had an issue with our flights coming home and the property manager was quick to help us arrange an additional night to stay. We recommend this VRBO and would stay here again. Loved Our Stay in Hawaii!We had such a great time at this place! The house was super clean, comfy, and had everything we needed—plenty of towels, a well-stocked kitchen, even beach gear. The vibe was really relaxed and the décor had that nice island feel that made it extra special.There’s no A/C, but honestly, we loved it during the day The breeze flows through the house and the ceiling fans kept it cool, when there was crosswinds. It felt nice to enjoy the fresh air instead of being sealed up inside. Only suggestion is to place a portable AC unit in master bedroom. To use when there aren’t any crosswinds.The location was awesome—quiet and peaceful but close enough to beaches, food spots, and fun things to do. The hosts were super friendly and even left us a welcome basket with local treats. That was such a nice surprise!If you're looking for a chill Hawaiian getaway, this is the spot. Perfect location and great place! It had amazing views and we were able to walk to the beach. Close to a few great food options. The place itself was well kept and well stocked with towels and beach equipment. Driveway was a little steep, so be careful and go slow if you rent a low car as you can scrape the bottom on the way out. Would definitely rent again!

We had a wonderful time and it was the perfect location. The check in process and communication was great as well. An added bonus was access to the health club to work out and enjoy the beautiful pool - all within walking distance. The only thing that kept us from giving 5 stars was some basic supplies were not stocked for us (washing machine soap, paper towels, body lotion). If you're looking for a clean and no frills place to stay with an amazing view and location, this is it. We had a great time!
