IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS UNIT - Our complex is currently having work done on the seawall in front of the building next door to this building. This work will continue until approximately late November, 2019. Most of the noisiest work is complete for 2019, but there is still work going on and because there is concrete being poured, the work is dependent on the timing of the tides. This means that work is starting at 6 or 6:30 more often. However, the job site is being accessed from the far south of the complex and we don't see or hear much right now. In 2020, the work will be done on the seawall right in front of the unit from approximately June 2020 to November 2020. Heavy equipment will be in use and will be accessing the worksite from the walkway on the side of the building below the unit and the side windows. This will be disturbing to the occupants of the unit. Work is scheduled M - S, 8am to 3:30 pm, five days a week. Work will usually start no earlier than 8am most days but because some work will need to be done around tides, work may start as early as 6:00am and end no later than 3:30pm. Most days, the work is done by 3pm. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is not the unit to book. If you are planning to be out and about during the day, your stay will not be impacted much except that the lawn below the unit will be torn up and will not look good. There will also be a large pit that the work is happening in. The ocean view will still be nice. My pricing during this period reflects both the uncertainty of what work will be done, when and the inconvenience of the work on property.
Our Kahana Reef unit is a third-floor, studio condominium in a low-rise building with 556 square feet including the lanai. You are within 35 feet of the ocean breakwater overlooking Molokai and Lanai islands. This is an end unit with full privacy and side windows for more light and airflow. The view from the lanai is stunning. You will see beautiful sunsets at all times of the year in a romantic, quiet environment. There is a beach next door and Napili Beach is a 5 minute drive away. Kapalua and Ka'anapalii Beaches are also close.
There is a queen-size, wall bed in the living room looking out at the water and a single bed, dresser, and mirror in a half size room on the street side. The closet is in the hall going to the bathroom.
This unit has a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and blender.
Our unit is like a comfortable ohana - not a modern hotel room. Very clean and professionally managed but older.
This unit is close to Maui Brews, Kahana Grill and China Boat as well as other restaurants nearby.
Kahana Reef has three buildings in a staggered configuration. Building A has the pool between it and the water and has some partial view blockage from Building B. Building B is closer to the water but some views are blocked by Building C. Our unit is in Building C which is closest to the water with full views.
There is a seawall at the Kahana Reef with grass and lounge chairs looking out over the ocean. The beach starts at the north end of the complex and is accessed by cement stairs at the Building C end of the property. Kahana Beach and S Turns park is a 15 minute walk to the south of the complex.
