This is our third time staying in Kuhio Shores, first time in this unit. T HR r reds condo is perfect and we recommend it to anyone. The Beach House restaurant next door was a big disappointment though. We’ve been in years past and loved it but this time we won’t recommend anymore - insane amount of people and the food was marginal and overpriced. Brennecke’s is much better and not a zoo and our best food of the trip. Keoke’s is a fun place and great kahlua pork sandwich.

Beautiful views, stunning any time of day. Listen to the ocean from your balcony. Decor is Hawaiian and tropical. Every amenity we wanted or needed was provided. Highly recommend!

The only way to go in Hawaii is right on the water, and the pictures are, in fact, reality. We were so happy the A/C worked so well in the back bedrooms. The building is merely steps away from a small beach that had some of the best snorkeling I've done - we swam (from a distance) with a sea turtle, very cool. The owners even had umbrellas and chairs that were so great to use. I even texted the owner that the door stop on the main door was broken and it was fixed the next day. Other condo people/visitors were very nice.

We have stayed on Kuhio Shores before in a different condo so we do like this area.
Perfect sunset view, lots of space and quiet. It’s a very old property but everyone has remodeled.
It’s not cheap but I feel it’s a good value for the space. Nothing is inexpensive on the island anymore. We want a view so we pay a little more. The lanai is in the shade until around 1. Perfect for leisure mornings with coffee and a book. It faces the front. Lots of snorkeling right there as well.
It’s also a popular surfing spot so entertainment! We would stay here again.

We had a great stay here during our time on the south shore. View from balcony is incredible - watched surfers and sea turtles daily. Lawai beach is just west of the property, and Poipu and other beaches (where we spent most of our time) and restaurants are just a short drive away. Listing for the condo is accurate - well appointed kitchen, chairs and umbrella for beach use, and beach towels provided. Perfect for our family. Great communication with owner throughout the booking process. Thanks!

Location was beautiful as we enjoyed watching the sea turtles and surfers from our balcony. The view was breathtaking . If I would add anything that was negative would be the cleanliness of the condo itself. Otherwise, our overall stay was wonderful.

The view from the condo was fantastic! Hearing crashing waves 24/7 was heaven. Condo had everything we needed. We had a slight problem upon arrival as our TV and Internet wasn't working. We contacted the building manager, Albert (wonderful man) and he worked with Spectrum. Turns out our cable and internet was out of service two days before our arrival. They sent out a technician the next day and all is well. We would stay there again for sure!!!!!!!

The view is breath taking. I was visiting with my parents and enjoy the air conditioning and easy access to everything on the island. However, beds were hard, ceiling fan lights would not turn off, and we had to buy toilet paper for the place. The air conditioning was worth it. We would stay again, however we would purchase mattress pads.

The view is incomparable. As advertised and shown in the listing photographs, the lanai is about 30 feet from the ocean on the 2nd floor of the building. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean and whales for hours. The unit itself is a bit tired and in serious need of an update. It compared unfavorably with other comparably priced accommodations in which we recently stayed in terms of furnishings, supplies and equipment (both items and quality). Limited kitchen equipment lent itself to less meal preparation that would have been expected. There is no garbage disposal. The living area is poorly lighted; beach chairs were old and rusted. There were noises (24/7) from mechanical equipment (hot water heater and toilet in the master) that were annoying, especially during the night. Overall, it was a pleasant stay (primarily because of location), but the unit could be improved with a little effort and not a great expense.

Fantastic location (steps from the beach and waves); great views (saw turtles and even a seal right up close on the beach) and proximity to restaurants. Poipu is the ideal spot on the island. We will come back here anytime we are in Kauai

This property has everything you could possibly want on Kauai! We had beautiful sunsets, watched turtles, surfers and even saw whales right from our lanai. Condo was very clean and had everything you need to prepare meals, plus had all the beach gear you need. The property manager was super friendly! People gather chairs and come down to Lawai beach each night for sunsets but staying here, we just sat on the private balcony. There is a good surf spot right in your line of sight, too. It was amazing to watch them. Lawai has really easy snorkeling, too. We found Old Koloa town to have excellent local food options, too.

We had an easy time locating, arriving at and checking in to this beautiful location. The condo was large and spacious, with an incredible floor to ceiling view of the ocean. It was fun to watch the surfers or fishermen and was a quick walk over the Baby beach. The location on Kauai was perfect - all the enjoyment of the beach with dining and shopping nearby, and then a quick 20 minute drive for boating experiences in Port Allen. It was also very easy to access Waimea canyon. The apartment was clean and moderately stocked. Make sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and pick up things like coffee and creamer at a grocery. The condo has beach towels, boogie boards and beach chairs for guests as well - a nice bonus.

We had an amazing stay! Well-equipped kitchen, nicely decorated, good beach gear (boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella), and ample air conditioning. Super location - beach and shave ice stand on one side and walkable shopping for our teens on the other. The view from the lanai can’t be beat - literally spent hours watching the waves and sea turtles! Mahalo for sharing your wonderful place with our family!

We were very happy at Kuhio Shores. The apartment is clean and nice, and the sound of the waves that permeate the apartment is fantastic. We watched the surfers from our deck every evening. We'd happily stay here again!

This condo had amazing views and a great location; making it very easy to access the whole island. The layout worked out very well for us. The balcony was also a very good size, bigger than I expected. It was also very well equipped with everything we needed. Although we did not use the BBQ's, we noticed they were cleaned every day! This unit had AC which we found we needed. The only complaints we had is the carpet; it was quite warn down. The cleaniness was also an issue for us. The two headboards are made of wicker and were extremely dusty, as well as the room fans(we did not use due to the fact they were so dirty). We actually tried to vacuum the headboards boards, but I think what they really needed would be a good scrubbing. Other than that it was great. The location of the Beach House restaurant next door was a plus and the sunsets from our balcony were great.

Enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for us, right next to the Beach House restaurant which for young children might not be perfect, but, with late teenage children it is.
Great snorkeling right off the building with the turtles and surfing right down the street, easy walking to the market yet still quiet.
Only downside would have been to have some drapes to pull while not at the condo to help keep the unit cool.

The bottom line is, this place is great! Read the description on VRBO listing, look at the pictures and read some of the reviews and this property will definitely meet your expectations. It really was exactly as it was described on VRBO. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated recently. We saw controls for AC, but did not need to turn it on. I'd much rather have the ocean breeze and each room has a ceiling fan if needed.
The unit was very clean and comfortable. I was also impressed by the upkeep of the building and Kuhio Shores property. The owner, Karen was easy to communicate with and very reachable to answer any questions. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Everything was perfect, the views are the best part, never closed the windows for 8 days, ocean sounds the entire time, saw turtles and swam with turtles every day. Condo had everything you need except binoculars. Close to everything local and ate at all the local restaurants, Keoki's paradise bar was our favorite.

My husband, three kids and I had a wonderful stay at this place. It was truly a slice of heaven. Every morning, we would drink our coffee on the balcony which was only one floor up from ground level. We watched turtles, dolphins, and surfers from the balcony. It was tempting to just stay in and relax all day, and take in the beautiful view. We found it very convenient that the beach was located only minutes away, where we surfed and snorkeled. The snorkeling was amazing, and we rented equipment there at Lawai Beach for a very reasonable price. Some nights we enjoyed the sunset from our balcony, other nights, we walked out to watch it on the lawn. It was magical. One morning, I went on a short walk from the condo to a well-known blow hole. Karen, the owner, was so helpful. Before we arrived, she gave us a helpful list of things to do and places to go. She has her place stocked with all sorts of helpful tourist information about the island. The unit is very clean with full amenities. The AC is refreshing, but even without the AC, the fans cooled us off. The beds were extremely comfortable. I would reccommend this place to friends, family, and anybody hoping to have a luxurious stay. We hope to return to Karen and Dave's place one day.

We found the condo at Kuhio Shores to be a peaceful place to stay. As soon as we entered the condo, we would open up the lanai door to hear the sound of the ocean. The condo was comfortable and had homey feel to it....far better than any hotel with its well-stocked kitchen, a collection of helpful tour guides and books on Kauai, and beach equipment (towels, chairs, snorkel gear, and cooler!). We had everything we needed at our "home base" to relax and enjoy the beauty of Kauai!

This is our 4th time staying at Kuhio Shores and I don't think it can be beat...on any Hawaiian Island (and we've spent time on all of them). It's a beautiful, well furnished condo and nicely located for anything you want to do on the island. It's truly a wonderful place to stay for anyone of any age! Our sons loved it and my mother (at the age of 95) loved it. I agree with the other comments: it's beyond what you can possibly imagine.

We very much enjoyed our week at Kuhio Shores. The view was excellent at all times of day and the sunsets were spetactular. The location on the island is very good and the Beach House restaurant is excellent, fun to watch the sunset there with everyone else. The condo itself was well set up, very clean and functional. We absolutely loved our stay at this condo. You really feel transported from everyday life when you wake up with the sounds of the ocean and have your morning coffee on the Lanai with the breeze watching the turtles feed. What a surreal experience. The location was great for the sunsets too. Its funny seeing all the people going to the beach house restaurant for the wonderful sunsets and we got the same just sitting out on the deck! I did not want to leave. The owners were very nice and well organized too. The vacation was great - We're hoping to head back soon. I would recommend getting a car to anyone staying here. There's plenty to do right around, but the whole island is beautiful to explore.
