This property is absolutely amazing! The location, within the resort, is probably the best. We watched whales EVERYDAY from the living room. The unit is very quite so one can get peaceful sleep at night. We really appreciated that it was very well stocked; our kids took full advantage of snorkel, boogie board and golf clubs on a daily basis :).
Aside from whales, we saw fish and turtle in the water right in front of the unit (being that the unit is on the bottom floor is definitely a plus). Even the monk seals made an appearance on our last day.
The resort itself is also well cared for. We never saw any trash or any unsightly things laying around. Very friendly resort staff.
As with anything, there's always room for improvements. First, the unit doesn't have a door between the water closet/ shower and the sinks. This inconvenience was highly noted as only one person can use the bathroom at a time. Second, the resort pools are underwhelming. Very simple and small backyard type pools; no elements to draw you in. Third (and most annoying), the response time of the property manager is very disappointing. Responses to inquiries takes DAYS! In one occasion, I was completely ignored so had to reachout again.
In conclusion, this was a fantastic experience with a short term rental for my family. I would rent this unit again if opportunity allows.

Stayed at the Papakea Resort December 3rd thru the 10th. Unit L-101was spectacular, location is ground floor and ocean front. Check in was fast and parking was steps from the unit. Hands down the best location on the entire Papakea property. Condo was beyond expectations and had everything you could ever need. Papakea isn’t the fanciest resort, or the newest, but it is well maintained and the location is really hard to beat. The condo is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Great place to stay for couples, or even a small family with use of the sleeper sofa. We’re glad we chose to stay here and you will be too.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at Napili-Honokawai! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that all the details in making this spot terrific have been well thought out. It’s stocked with supplies. Too hot? It has Air conditioning (a unit in each room) and plenty of fans tucked away in the closet. Making a scrumptious meal? It has lots of plates and utensils, along with pots / pans, blenders, etc for sharing a meal with loved ones. The pullout couch is even comfortable for sleeping! The location is perfect. As a family, we especially enjoyed it as grass is out front for playing / picnics and the beach is <100 yards away. We enjoyed the complex in general what with two pools, pickleball/tennis courts, putting greens and a lovely boardwalk that heads south along the coast just a quick walk away. Again, place was well stocked with beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, putters, pickleball paddles and tennis racket. Also, it was absolutely lovely working with the the rental manager, Bree. She was quick to respond and the place was immaculately clean upon arrival. In the case of Napili-Honokowai, the condo IS the vacation.

The resort is a fantastic spot for families to stay. Much easier to get to your room than the big resorts. The unit itself was perfect for a family of 4. The kitchen was fabulous and stocked with ample cookware and necessities for cooking. The view from the kitchen and living room is awesome. So great in fact that we did not eat one dinner out!
The unit was extremely clean and well taken care of. Bree provided prompt and detailed information regarding all details.
We will for sure stay in L101 when we return to Maui!

The bed was great, the furniture was clean, the shower was amazing, the towels were good quality. Bree was super friendly and helpful. I could go on and on. The very best part though was the absolutely amazing beauty right out the sliding glass doors. I loved sitting on the lanai watching the sunset. The day we left there was a rainbow right outside the door. You can not go wrong renting this property. I hope to be back soon!!

My first time getting a walk out and it was perfect for us. I loved sitting on the patio with my juice int he morning and a cocktail in the evenings just watching the water. The bed was extremely comfy (and we are super picky about the bed) and having 2 a/c units was a huge plus. Another family of our group only had one a/c and their unit was not as comfortable as ours. We only had to use the living room one in the later afternoon for a little while and the bedroom overnight. I expected us to use them more being in August but the unit stayed very comfortable with little use of them. The kitchen had everything we needed and we had cooked for others with plenty of space. It was a fabulous time and we are already planning a return trip. THanks so much for everything.

This is easily one of the best vacation rental properties I've ever stayed at. Exactly as the description said. Corner plot, ground floor, you could access the sea anytime. Walk out on the back patio and sit on the lush green grass for hours, amazing sunset views right from the couch, enjoy a stroll at night and gaze at the stars. The beach was right next to us. This was our first time on the island with our 8mo old in tow, and all of us really enjoyed our stay. This unit was well stocked with basics such as oil/condiments and kitchenware. Very happy with the amenities and will definitely be back.

From our first communication with Bree to our sad wave goodbye to the whales cavorting offshore, we agree that Unit L101 was an absolutely perfect choice for our stay. With the ocean on our doorstep, it was almost like an infinity pool view, and we used the lawn and lanai for hours each day and evening. Being walkers, we strolled the 10 minutes to Kahekili Beach several times for excellent snorkeling. The unit was well equipped with beach gear and everything one needed for cooking. Several restaurants nearby offer a wide variety for dine-in and takeout. Furnishings were new and clean and comfortable. Excellent choice for a couple or small family!

My husband and I booked this property for the holidays and golfing at Kapalua. We were blown away! The location was perfect. The grounds at Papakea were amazing. The property itself was awesome. Not only the spectacular view, but the unit is clean, updated and fully stocked with anything you need to cook a meal, clean up and enjoy your stay (boogie boards, cooler for lunch on the go, etc). Lovely end location was quiet and spacious. Comfortable beds, yes - even the pullout couch was nice, plush towels and soft towels and sheets. We will definitely be back!

This condo is awesome. We loved being on the ground level and ocean front. The view of molaki was magical. The condo was well stocked. The kitchen had a coffee maker and a kuerig combo. It had coffee filters, salt and pepper, oil, and some spices. There was laundry soap and dish soap and dish detergent. The fridge had water in the door and an auto ice maker. You will need to pack or purchase foil, plastic wrap or ziplocks. The bathroom had toilet paper and shampoo conditioner lotion and soap. We loved the condo and would love to stay again.
The retaining wall leads to a small sandy beach. It could be nonexistent at times. Make sure to wear aqua socks it’s rocky and rough in the waves.
The Maui fish market close by was delicious.
The only one negative is the smell of the canal next to the condo. It smelled of sewage at times.
That being said I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this first floor corner unit at Papakea Resort. The condo was very comfortable with great furnishings and amenities. You can’t beat the location and view right on the ocean. We will definitely be back and hope to be able to rent this unit again.

Very good location with 180 degrees of views with large windows and glass sliding doors. Only 30 feet from the ocean and every night we could hear the ocean waves. Love the property as well as there is 2 pools, spas, golf putting greens, and shuffle boards. We were right next to the beach. The property was clean however there are some scratches on the glass sliding door. There is a lot of toys for the kids like boogie boards, snorkels, golf balls and putters, and beach chairs. The pull out bed in the sofa was perfect foe our kids. Really enjoyed staying here. Also nice to be on the bottom floor so the kids could play on the grass area in front of the property.
