There were some communication issues as to how to check into the property. There is a new property manager and that may have been the issue. This was a small issue and taken care of promptly. The condo and view were beautiful and the location was ideal for us. Would definitely stay here again!

Unbelievable property! We had 10 wonderful days in the condo! Mornings and evenings we spent enjoying the views from the lanai. We spotted turtles most every day.
Our hosts supplied everything we could have needed in the condo from our outings to the beach, to evenings in our home away from home. We enjoyed ourselves so much. It was perfection.

We stayed 8 nights, had a great time. Best snorkeling was at the beach, just on the other side of the condo unit. The view from the condo was great and we saw turtles every afternoon/evening. Everything was as advertised.

Our stay was wonderful! The lii on action was great - we were able to walk to many great restaurants and had easy drives to the west side of the island and Lihue! Sunrises on the condo patio were gorgeous! Loved our visit!

We had a wonderful time at John and Kathi’s place. The location is excellent for exploring the southern and western parts of Kauai. The sunrises, dinners and relaxing on the lanai overlooking the bay were fabulous, and we even saw sea turtles multiple times. The condo was well stocked with supplies, and the owners generously leave beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. for use by renters. We would certainly stay here again when we return to Kauai.

Condo exceeded expectations of listing. It had absolutely everything we could have wanted and more. Communication with owner was exceptional. Location was perfect for seeing island and staying local. Shops within a short walk and spectacular ocean front from lanai. Despite the gloomy weather and rain we still managed to see the island ( and Canyon!!!) in between storms. Highly recommend (except when we want to come back)😊

I’m so sad to be leaving today. How can I go back home knowing there’s a magical sunset gathering at the beach behind the condo and neighboring restaurant every single night, even in February! We loved hearing the ocean sounds day and night , even from the bedroom. The condo was equipped to the max with attention to detail and communication with the owner was easy as others have mentioned . We celebrated my birthday at sunset next door at the fabulous Beach House next door. Snorkeling was great right by the property . Just lovely. Thanks so much !

My year long dreams of relaxing on a peaceful, oceanfront lanai in Kauai were dashed when I walked in the unit and found it faces a very busy coastal road within a stones throw of the unit. This road is nowhere to be seen in the photographs but takes up 30% of the view. All day and evening we were subjected to gunning motorcycles, pickups booming reggae beat, and just general high usage due to the restaurants in the area. Sitting outside for a peaceful dinner was impossible due to the noise and the headlights shining onto the dining table.
We were looking forward to preparing our own meals only to find the pots and pans were rusted with most of the nonstick coating flaking off. I notified the owner and he said he could have replacements for me the day before we were to leave (we were booked for a week).
When we tried to check our email it wouldn’t load. Another notification to the owner revealed he knew about the problem with the internet carrier and it would be repaired in 5 days after our arrival but had neglected to tell us. At that point he offered for us to leave and not have to pay cancellation fee. Being the absolute least he could have offered we were still stuck with additional booking and cleaning fees for our new unit in Kapa’a and we wasted 2 days of our precious vacation arranging for new accommodations and then having to pack up and move.

We loved our stay here. The view is amazing and we enjoyed many sunrises from the lanai. Snorkeling in the two bays on either side of the property was great. The condo is very well stocked. We really appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella. The car rental was very easy and convenient. We can't wait to come back!

Everything about this place was excellent: the view, the furnishings, the location, the air conditioning, the hosts! Enough in the kitchen to help you cook meals if you want and a lot of excellent food options nearby for eating out so you don't have to cook! The hosts sent a lot of helpful information in advance to help us plan for our stay. Quick and easy access to area sites and beaches. We were so glad we stayed here!

This condo exceeded our expectations. It was well appointed; the only thing we had to bring was our clothes and food. The hosts provided everything else you would ever need, and more. The checkin was easy and John was in contact with us before, during, and after our stay. The location was awesome. Right on the water with fabulous sunrises every morning. In the evening, the surfers put on a show while the sun was setting. But it’s in a quiet area, just far enough away from the mainstream resorts that you were able to enjoy the peace. Easy walking to restaurants and shops. We hope to return to Kauai soon and would definitely stay here again!

The view alone makes this place top notch. We spent more time than usual sitting in the living room looking out the bank of windows. Communication with the owner was good and the photos and description are accurate. The rental has more supplies than any we ever experienced. Incredible thought went into stocking spices, suntan lotion, bug spray, etc. We brought most of our own out of habit, but felt the owners really understand traveler’s needs. Especially appreciated was being able to stay beyond the check out time because we had a 5:00pm flight and the next guests were not arriving until the following day!!

The condo was absolutely breathtaking, in a perfect location with an ocean view that offered gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and a lanai that welcomed us over and over!
We would HIGHLY recommend this property - and it has everything we could have wanted in terms of being fully stocked (minus the food itself 😄) and ready to go!

Such a beautiful condo right on the beach in Poipu! My fiancé and I could not have asked for a better location. We watched the sunset every night of our trip from the grassy lawn of the condo complex and it was the perfect ending to each day. The unit was clean and had everything you could possibly need for your trip. Would absolutely recommend for anyone who wants amazing ocean views and a convenient location.

The hosts genuinely thought about the guest experience and throughout the rental it shows. From the very beginning they were responsive and easy to work with. The location is absolutely perfect to all the southern sights of the island and a short drive (25 mins) to the airport and east towns (35 mins) Breathtaking views all throughout the day from the lanai and the surrounding property. A 3-5 minute drive to a shopping center with stores and restaurants to shop at or the nearby old Koloa town is just a few minutes further. The rental has everything you may need while away. Kitchen was stocked with supplies to cook a meal, store leftovers or grill using the 2 grills at the property. A closet full of beach gear for use was very helpful especially when traveling. A desk space and office supplies for those who may need to work while away. There was even luggage scale and packaging tape for all those souvenirs to bring back. It’s a home away from home with all the amenities one may need while traveling. The sunrises, on property oceanfront sunset views, location, comfortable and thoughtful accommodations makes this rental a top choice. Don’t second guess, if you see availability.. book it.

We enjoyed our time at John and Cathy's condo. The unit was well maintained and John kept in touch with us all during our travels to make sure everything was going all right. We also rented our car from him and he made sure that we knew exactly where it was parked. He also gave us his cell phone number in case we had an emergency or any questions. This is an amazing place to stay with views that have to be seen to be believed. Sit on the lanai and watch turtles in the water below (TONS of turtles here.) Great unit with A/C and the owner communicates all instructions so we’ll that everything is effortless on your vacation. Would definitely rent here again if it were just the two of us. If traveling with our 3 late teen kids we’d look for a 2nd unit here to try to be in this location.

The view from the lanai is breathtaking. If you look closely you can see turtles swimming in the water.
Many items were available for our use. Beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, some snorkel gear, and cooler. These items made a big difference in our stay.

We had a great time at John's condo. He does a good job making sure you have what you need. We spent a lot of time on the balcony, rain & shine (which changes back and forth in Kauai every 10 minutes or so lol) Nice Keurig machine with lots of coffee pods. The stove is a bit old but usable, which is the only gripe I have, really. (We ate out and had take out mostly so it wasn't a big deal) Easy & plentiful parking, great swim spot in front of the restaurant. We would stay here again for sure.

Kuhio Shores is a great location when staying on Kauai. It is in a perfect location to quickly get to all the South has to offer. Right next door to the Beach House restaurant, walking distance to Spouting Horn and the Botanical Gardens and a two minute ride to many shops, bars and golf courses. The property was amazing and John and Kathi made sure we had everything we needed for an incredible stay. There were boogie boards, snorkeling gear and all the other beach necessities. Watching turtles right from our Lanai was just one of the many benefits of staying at Kuhio Shores 302 and we hope we get back there soon!

Great experience staying at this condo. Excellent location with in walking distances to shops and restaurants. The Condo has everything you need and think of. Full kitchen with plenty of utensils l, pots and plates to go around. Make smoothies with a industrial blender or just Keurig for a
