The location is simply unbeatable. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks just steps away from the condo supplied a soothing soundtrack to our entire stay. The condo itself was a true home away from home. The attention to detail in the interior design and furnishings created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped with modern appliances, making it easy for us to prepare meals and dine with a view of the ocean. One of the highlights for me was the private lanai, where we spent mornings sipping coffee and evenings stargazing. It was the perfect spot to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty that Kauai has to offer, including the daily afternoon visit from sea turtles. The attention from Denise and Gordon was exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their recommendations and hospitality added an extra layer of warmth to our experience. The proximity to local attractions and activities was another advantage of staying at Kuhio Shores. Whether it was exploring nearby botanical gardens, embarking on a snorkeling adventure, checking out the local farmer’s markets or simply relaxing on the pristine beaches, everything was conveniently accessible.
Kuhio Shores is a hidden gem that we feel fortunate to have discovered. It's a haven for those seeking a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. We’re already dreaming of our next visit to this little slice of heaven on earth.

Don’t think twice and book!! This is by far the most top notch couples retreat! From the layout, to the design and decor, the the breathtaking views from balcony - it’s just spectacular. Denise was amazing with communication and responded quickly every time I had a question. The condo was close to beaches, restaurants and shops. We spent majority of our stay on the island here and driving to and from various parts of the island was no issue at all. You will see sea turtles from the balcony on a daily basis and the sun rises from bed are a dream. We couldn’t have been happier and will definitely rebook in the future!

Just the sound of the waves and the beauty of the ocean. Tastefully and functionally updated. Comfortable bed and furniture. Set up is great in that you can see the ocean from the living area and bedroom. Everything we needed and more (coolers, boogie boards, beach towels.. if you needed it, it was here). Parking always available close to the unit. We stayed 4 nights and never saw an insect. Five minute drive from Longs Drug if you needed anything. Great restaurant next door with killer sunset views. Poipu Beach minutes away by car. Resident turtle in the water beneath our balcony. Stayed perfect temperature without AC in August (highs in high 80’s), but must pull down sunshades in the early morning hours to keep the unit cool. Proactive owner told us about potential noise from the elevator being fixed (but we didn’t hear anything). It’s near the road, but you don’t hear anything but the ocean. We were out and about everyday.. so can’t comment on it as a “laying on the beach” stay. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Waterfront property with crashing waves to lull you day and night; turtles were seen feeding just below the balcony. Modern and clean interior, with just about everything you could ever need.
Downside: No in-unit washer & dryer (on site though); bar-b-ques were situated next to the trash dumpsters...not terribly appealing (we didn't use); no pool or fitness center; near main street, so the occasional loud vehicle or stereo music would interrupt the solitude.
Despite these minor inconveniences, a wonderful place.

This property is in the most perfect location you could ever think of. It is right around the corner from the beach house restaurant that we went to that is amazing with excellent food and service. It is close to snorkeling and beaches. It is also close to many restaurants and little shops. We had either a short walk to places or we drove for maybe 2 to 3 minutes to go shopping, eat out, and enjoy ourselves. What a beautiful place she has put together inside as well. Has a beautiful air to it, and, everything worked well and was of excellent quality. You can’t go wrong with this place. The views off the balcony are amazing. We were able to watch all the different weather patterns and the sunrise was gorgeous the other day. We even saw people fishing off of the lava rocks below us, which was pretty neat. Amazing place amazing stay!

My partner and I very much enjoyed this property. It is modern (with brand new appliances) and tastefully decorated. The view and sound of the ocean are spectacular. We saw sea turtles all the time from the lanai. The host was highly responsive and communicative. I would highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay at Denise’s place. The condo is beautifully updated and was very clean. Loved having the view of the sunrise every morning and the condo stayed decently cool in the evening with using the AC. There was plenty of beach supplies, chairs, snorkels, etc. which was very nice to have. The bed was amazing and comfy. We truly enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon at this condo. The location was great and the hosts were very attentive.

This is our second stay in a condo at Kuhio Shores. We love the place, the location, the snorkeling a 3 minute walk away. This unit was wonderful. Bright, sunny, and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable and the TV got all of our streaming channels. We kept the [screened] windows and door open whenever we were there and loved hearing the water and going out on the lanai to check out the turtles.
My only suggestion is that the information notebook be updated to remove outdated stuff and to include all the information the host provided in emails to us. Plus guidance on how the fans and lights work!

I feel so fortunate to have discovered Denise's property when searching for a place to stay during my solo Kauai retreat. Beautifully updated and well-appointed, lovely views of the bay and mountains and sunrises, spacious lanai, clean and comfortable, the condo was perfect for me! We are so grateful and impressed with what Denise and Gordon have created in Kauai. The view from the balcony made it difficult to leave the condo some mornings. The waves and turtles are mesmerizing. The location is perfect with snorkeling right off the property in two directions.
The condo is spacious, immaculate, tastefully decorated, and equipped for cooking and beach going!
Denise was very attentive and her instructions were perfect!

If I could give this more than 5 stars I totally would! The pictures online don’t do it the justice it deserves! BEAUTIFUL ocean view to watch the sunrise. We actually saw some sea turtles swimming while we drank our morning coffee. The condo is gorgeous and recently remodeled. The owner definitely has great style. It has everything you need to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of Hawaii. We rented a car and parked it in the lot out front which was really nice. It is also walking distance to a cute little shopping center that has a drugstore and grocery store! Thank you so much for letting us stay here - we will definitely be back soon! Mahalo!

If it is your goal to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life inland trade it in for absolute relaxation, where all you need is a place to stay, a beautiful view of the ocean and the sound of crashing waves, then look no further!
We were lucky enough to find Denise’s property available, even if it was only for a couple of days. All the positive reviews are all true! Denise’s place is clean, it has everything you need and close to everything! Most of all, the view!! You can’t get any closer to an oceanfront view than here. You literally look down from the balcony and you see the edge of the ocean. This part of the beach is not swimmable, but you can walk less than 3 minutes if you want to play in the water.
I’ll sum up my stay by saying that in all my years of traveling the world, Denise’s property was the only place I ever wanted to stay in all day and nit explore. I can never forget just opening the windows and sliding glass door, laying on the couch and just enjoying the real-life ocean waves meditation sounds!!

Wonderful location immediately adjacent to the best snorkeling beach on the whole island (in our opinion anyway), and with a lanai facing a small bay that nearly always greeted us with turtles. We enjoyed watching them negotiating the swells as they fed on the rocks.
There are blinds that can be pulled to block the morning sun, but we preferred to keep them open, waking to the sun, the sound of the sea, and the crowing of roosters. (there are a LOT of happy feral chickens running around Kauai). We chose not to use the A/C and found the sea breezes and excellent ceiling fans kept us quite comfortable.
The unit is located right next to the Beach House. We never went, but we could see it was a popular place, always hopping with activity. Even with the Beach House, the neighborhood is less glitzy than other parts of Poipu, where you'll find the grand hotels like the Grand Hyatt and the vast Poipu Beach. But those areas are within a very short drive. Everything in Poipu is basically a short drive away, including the little village in Koloa (go to Kenji Burgers there, and the Sueoka convenience store).

Denise's property was amazing! It is located in a beautiful location and we were able to watch sea turtles from the balcony every day. Denise was a great host and eft tons of information for us. We absolutely loved our stay here! Location was perfect to many beaches and the balcony provides great oceanfront views for sea turtle watching. The condo itself was very roomy and had everything we needed for our stay. On-site parking was very convenient. We spent the first half of our Kauai vacation at a higher end hotel resort also on the south shore but we much preferred our stay here at the condo! Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay! Appreciated the information Denise - the property manager - provided prior to our stay and her responsiveness during our stay. We enjoyed windows open to hear the ocean (with screens shut to keep bugs out). You can also see the sunrise from this vantage point which was nice for enjoying breakfast on the patio. For sunsets, just walk around the building for a lookout spot. We saw a few surfers out during sunset too along with a couple wedding receptions at the restaurant next door.
If you plan to do laundry, either bring quarters ($2.50 for wash, $2.50 to dry) or dollar bills because the laundry room has a machine. And definitely rent a car b/c public transportation is limited and Uber/Lyft it super difficult to find especially from airport to Vrbo.
Overall, we would happily return to this Vrbo if we visit the island again and would look forward to our stay. Thank you, Denise, for having us at your beautiful condo!

If you’re staying in the Poipu area, you’ll be in for a treat if you’re lucky enough to book this beautiful condo. With modern, beautiful decor, an updated kitchen, and a luxurious feel all around, we thoroughly enjoyed our nights at Kuhio Shores! Everything was a breeze from check in to departure, and the condo is well maintained and stocked with all the essentials one needs to enjoy a few nights in paradise - including beach gear (chairs, umbrella, towels, cooler). Not to mention the view! 😍 We even spotted sea turtles swimming offshore from the balcony! Denise was extremely helpful and communicative, and we’d definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I loved the ocean breeze in the room. This location is perfect. You won't need the air conditioner. The sunsets are gorgeous especially a short walk to the nearby Beach House restaurant. The staff on the premises were extremely friendly and kind. The room was very quiet and we loved watching the turtles every morning and evening from the balcony. Denise was great to work with and very prompt with her replies to any questions we had.
