The listing was accurate and extremely detailed. Kuhio Shores condos are in an ideal location. The grounds are well kept, and the sunrise and sunset views were spectacular. The condo is beautifully furnished with a tropical theme and a lovely collection of artwork. The hosts have thought of everything a visitor might need or desire including a chilled bottle of champagne, binoculars, beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, and scuba gear. The kitchen is well appointed and the split system air conditioner was a huge bonus. The owners and the property exceeded our 5 star expectations. We look forward to returning.

We loved this place. The owners take great care and pride in making the condo comfortable and well appointed, are easy to communicate with, and delivered on everything they committed to in their listing. Our visit exceeded our expectations. The unit is very comfortable and soooo close to the ocean. We stayed for a week in August and used the condo as our home base while enjoying the many diverse facets and activities all over Kauai. The snorkeling just to the west of the building was captivating… fish of all types, swimming green sea turtles every time we went out, and even a moray eel. And it was so close to the unit with an outdoor shower and foot rinse to keep the beach sand outside. It’s a short walk to a number of great restaurants and a 2 mile drive to the Poipu Beach Club whose membership was included – very cool. Safety and Security…. Parking was super close, the keyless entry worked like a charm and was convenient, and the in-room safe was helpful and allowed us to focus on enjoying versus worrying. While we did venture to the west side of the building to enjoy sunsets and locals surfing, we spent a lot of time in our unit mesmerized by the ocean waves from the living room, kitchen and outdoor lanai. So relaxing. And, from our perspective, the ground floor is the best – the ability to simply walk out the sliding door with your coffee in the morning to the rocky edge of the ocean in a matter of a few yards can’t be beat!

Karen and Dave did an outstanding job on having everything you will need to enjoy your stay at their unit. The unit felt very comfortable and relaxing and the location was perfect. We had a fantastic time, The condo was perfect for the two of us and the king size bed was amazing.
We saw so many turtles right from the patio.
The only reason I gave it four stars was because of all the foot traffic going by. That took some getting used to.

We enjoyed our stay at Kuhio Shores 105. The condo was equipped with everything we needed. The Kitchen has plenty of cookware and utensils. The bedroom is comfortable with AC. The bed is a little soft, but that is a personal thing. We still slept fine. We enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai. The turtles are fun to watch. We loved watching people gather to watch the surfers and sunset. Very pleasant and relaxing. The owners were accommodating and responded quickly to emails. Very good experience.

This unit is even better in person. Yes, the location and view are outstanding, but the customer service offered by the owners is truly superior. You'll find added extras that come in handy like snorkeling gear, beach chairs & towels, beach umbrella, cooler, laundry soap, tour guidebooks, and cooking spices. They've thought of everything! We had a minor maintenance issue and they were on it within minutes. Don't hesitate. Book this place!

This was a very lovely location with the ocean right outside the patio. The snorkeling was better here than on the paid tour we did! Note to other travelers, if you go snorkeling, go to the other side of the complex. The side this unit is on is a bit rocky and we fell and cut ourselves up. The other side has a nice beach to easily walk in. If you want to eat at the restaurant on the other side of the complex, make reservations before you go. They were booked by the time we got there. It is walkable to the local shopping mall, but without sidewalks it is a little sketchy. We chose to drive everywhere but it was close to everything. The only negative we had was the toilet paper. It was single ply and made that part of the trip unpleasant. Just felt that this was a simple upgrade that would have made the trip better and thought I would mention it for the owners for the future. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place and would stay again.

We arrived at Karen and David’s condo to find it very well cleaned (very important to us!) and supplied. The unit had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.
We loved the keyless front door entry. The calming view of Hanakaape Bay was perfect. The unit windows face south so we grabbed the patio chairs and walked out the sliding glass door to view the sunsets around the corner of the building. We rarely used the AC and instead used the tower fans (3) to cool us down. The AC in both the living room and bedrooms are whisper quiet. We appreciated how comfortable the two chairs in the living room were and how we could watch the huge wall TV and still look out onto the bay. The king bed was super comfortable and we had no problems adjusting and slept well every night. There were 4 Tommy Bahama chairs, 2 coolers, an umbrella, boogie boards, and ice packs in the freezer for beach days. The kitchen was well-stocked and had both a Mr. Coffee and Keurig coffee machines (I left filters for the Mr. Coffee machine). The unit had extra toilet paper, paper towels, plastic wrap/bags, shampoo/conditioner/body soap, and much more. The bathroom towels were plush and not scratchy. We liked the extra little amenities like a power strip in the bedroom, nightlight in the bathroom, dimming lights in the kitchen, and welcome surprise in the fridge (which we did not imbibe in 😊).
The unit location was perfect. We walked to The Beach House around the corner of the building for a beautiful sunset dinner. One day we drove up to Waimea Canyon for the fantastic scenic overlooks. On another day, we drove north to the end of the road and enjoyed Haena Beach and the popular stops all along the way. The Poipu area was more our speed than the busier Princeville area so we felt we picked the perfect location and unit for our stay.

Everything about our stay in Kuhio Shores #105 was perfect. From initial contact with the owners, check in/out process, and the gorgeous unit itself, everything was perfect. Owners are so friendly and welcoming and have thought of everything to make your stay here the best it can be. Everything you need for a beach visit is right in the closet: beach chairs, snorkel equipment, umbrella, boogie boards, and coolers. The kitchen is also equipped with everything you need to cook meals right in the condo to enjoy on the beautiful lanai. The bathroom looks to have been recently updated as it has a beautiful shower and updated look. Nice thick bath towels and beach towels are provided as well. The bedroom has ample storage with closet space and lots of drawer space. We had more than enough room for our 10 night stay.
The unit has air conditioners in both the living room and the bedroom which is a nice touch. We mostly enjoyed just having the lanai door and bedroom windows open to enjoy the amazing Hawaii weather and trade winds blowing through but if you have a hot afternoon where the breeze isn't blowing as much it is nice to close everything up and cool the unit down.
Check in process is so easy which we appreciated after a very long day of flying to get to Kauai. Just punch the code into the lock and you are in!
We also enjoyed access to the Poipu athletic club just down the road. Made a nice spot to spend an afternoon at the beautiful pool and have some poolside drinks.
The highlight of this place though is the location and the view from the lanai. You can't really appreciate it fully until you see it in person. This is our second stay at Kuhio Shores and the ground floor units absolutely cannot be beat for the view and location. We spent every morning enjoying coffee on the lanai watching the sun come up and most evenings we would walk around the corner with drinks and watch the sunset. This is the same sunset view that you get when you have dinner at The Beach House but staying in this unit you get to enjoy it every single night. Just amazing. Thank you Karen and Dave for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. We hope to return soon!

We were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was at Kuhio Shores. We hardly ever heard anyone outside and never heard anyone above us. With the unit being on the ground floor we thought we’d hear the people above us, but we never did. Quiet time is 9:00pm until 6:59am.That goes for laundry rooms too. That was the only inconvenience we had was that we couldn’t do our laundry after 9pm. The condo is close to a lot of shops and restaurants, so it made it very convenient for us. I’d definitely stay here again.

I work in the vacation rental industry in California, so I am finicky, and I know a great deal when I see one! It’s very hard to find nice, affordable oceanfront accommodations anywhere but this fits the bill. The condo was nicely stocked, with everything we needed including beach chairs, cooler, beach umbrella and even snorkeling gear. The building itself is very clean and well maintained, and in a great location, close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. My husband was particularly impressed with all the electric outlets that were provided, and he enjoyed the binoculars as well.
Above all else, the ground level Lanai was heaven. To be able to walk outside and enjoy our morning coffee while listening to the waves crash, and enjoy our evening wine while watching the sea turtles and surfers was nothing short of heavenly. We are sad to be leaving this little slice of paradise.
I would recommend this condo to anyone wanting to visit Poipu, and I would definitely come back again.

We stayed here for the first half of our trip to Kauai and absolutely loved it! It's quaint, unpretentious, spacious, and quite charming. And that's before you open the curtains to be mere steps away from the beautiful black lava coastline. A stunning view with a patio area that is great snacking, yoga, getting a massage, or watching the sunrise. A great value and a perfect place to stay while we explored the south and west coast of the island! Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely lovely time at Kuhio Shores in September 2012. The location was so beautiful. We sat on the lanai every day for hours when we weren't out snorkelling or eating. The Beach House restaurant is just around the corner and while the food was awesome, the service left a little bit to be desired. Beautiful sunsets - loved watching the surfers in the early evening. We had some great meals and pretty much travbelled the island from stem to stern. It was so easy to see the island as it is so small so I would defintely recommend renting a car and seeing absolutely everything. The only thing we didn't like was the mattress in the bedroom and the bedding. The matress had a big sag on the side facing ethe window and I woke up with a sore back many days. Also, the bedding was not cotton and in the heat we really got very warm. However, this would not be enough to deter us from coming bakck to Kuhio Shores 105. The owner was extremely pleasant and based on that, together with the price and location of the condo, would lure us back.

This was our first vacation to Hawaii, and this condo made it so much more enjoyable. The condo was excellently appointed with everything we needed from kitchen utensils to snorkel gear. Being able to walk from the lanai 20 feet and go snorkeling with the turtles was incredible. The unit was clean and well taken care of and we were so glad we chose to stay here. Rates were excellent and the communication from Karen was great.
This was mine and my wife 20th anniversary and the bottle of champagne in the fridge was a nice personal touch.
Thank you Karen for helping to make this our most memorable vacation ever. We look forward to coming back next year.

Our first vacation in 8 years and it didnt disappoint. Sitting on the lanai for coffee or cocktails with beautiful views of the ocean, turtles and the 6 year old doing cartwheels on the generous grassy areas. Turtle watching, walking to the beach, the Beach House and snorkeling with out ever getting in the car was a luxury. How great was it to head to the beach, leave our gear, and pop home to eat lunch or refresh the cooler.
It was so nice to be able to do so many things in a (really) short walk. Thank you for supplying beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, snorkeling gear and boogie boards. We used it all! And a short drive up to great shopping with some really tasty restaurants was pretty nice too. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and ate "at home" for many meals. We had a blast and were comfortable too. Can't wait for the next trip.

We loved our stay in Poipu and Karen and Davids condo was perfect! We loved having coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the lanai overlooking the ocean. The turtles would come out to entertain us and we would relax waiting for the sunset in the evenings. The condo had everything we needed to make meals and also has wonderful snorkeling equipment, binoculars, chairs, umbrellas, beach towels - so no need to bring it yourselves. That was wonderful! We watched many sunsets sitting out in front of the Beach House, which is steps away from the condo - having a cocktail at the bar and watching the sunset was magical. Watching the surfers was also a fun past-time! We would recommend the ATV tour at Kipu ranch for a fun morning, a trip over to Waimea canyon and also to the Na Pali coast. Stop at Tunnels beach and do some amazing snorkeling with beautiful sites. Relaxing on the lanai at the condo is also highly recommended! For a romantic and special dinner, go to the Tide pool restaurant at the Grand Hyatt. Wonderful setting and delicious food. We would highly recommend staying at Karen and Davids condo. It is in a perfect location to see all the beautiful sites in Kauai and is the perfect place to come "home" to after you have had a great day exploring. We will definitely plan to return in the future. I miss it already!

We booked this condo on short notice and Karen was great to deal with, so friendly and quick to respond to all of our inquiries!! My husband and I spent 5 glorious nights in Kuhio Shores #105. I am 5 months pregnant and was nervous about traveling at that time however staying at the condo was a dream. The bed and pillows were SO comfy and being able to have food on hand was a great convenience. The condo was spotless and had all the necessary amenities plus a lot of extras. The condo complex was well maintained and the grounds were beautiful. Having the Lanai steps from the water was heaven and watching the turtles was such a treat. The condos location was perfect we literally were able to travel from one end of the island to the other seeing sights like Waimea canyon and Ke'e beach. My husband snorkeled at the condo beach everyday and we even had a sweet Monk seal visit the beach everyday. We loved old Koloa town (Koloa Mills has great coffee and baked goods) Overall we could not have asked for a better stay we hope to be back again soon with our new addition. My husband and I just returned from our stay on Kauai where we spent a week in #105. Karen was delightful to work with on the booking and quick to return our deposit. Upon arrival, we settled in and made ourselves at home for the week. The location is in a nice area and convenient to so many things. You can easily walk to some small beaches, a beautiful outdoor mall with stores, restaurants and groceries, botanical gardens, a golf course, spouting horn, etc. We even enjoyed walking through the lovely neighborhood next door with all its bungalows. There are other beaches, malls, hotels, restaurants and the downtown area of Koloa within a close driving distance. When at the condo, you can hang out on the lanai with your perfect view of the ocean and bay area. We saw the sea turtles in the bay in front of our condo every day. On the other side of the condo is a restaurant called, The Beach House. There is a small beach next to it with fantastic snorkeling. If you like Mexican food, you should try the mobile food truck (Chulupas) that sets up in the parking lot of the Botanical Gardens for lunch 6 days a week. You can either eat right there surrounded by the beauty of all the plants and flowers or take it to go and eat it on the beach or on your lanai. It was delicious and a bargain! The price of the condo is extremely fair and we plan to return as soon as we can.

I really enjoyed my stay at the condo. It had a very homey atmosphere and the location is so convenient for walking and driving. My friend Liz and I cooked some of our meals in, mostly breakfast and some lunches when we were not seeking out great restaurants. It was fun to watch the turtles and also enjoyed the little birds that regularly visited the lanai. I like the mirror in the dining area as it reflected the view of the ocean and made the room more open. The Kukui ula shopping center is great for dining and shopping plus the Wednesday farmers market. As I am a shopper I also enjoy the "kiosks" at Spouting Horn for great prices. I purchased a beautiful coral bracelet that I have been searching for for.a long time. As I have been to Kauai several times its great to know that I can return and have a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

We stayed at this unit for over a week...not enough. All details were provided for: the unit was very clean and stocked with from snorkel sets/boogie boards to ipod player and bubbly in the refer. But most of all the snorkel cove off the lanai with mountain and ocean views was incredible. I also like walking Lawai road out to the Nat'l Botanical Garden rather than on the other end of Poipu which puts your thru commercial complex after complex. We prefer to eat in and found well priced fish and local meat locally both by the traffic circle next to Seasport divers and Poke in Kaloa. Kuhio shores is not pretentious and the manager was helpful. It doesn't haved a pool...who needs one?I would recommended this unit to family and friends without reservation....,although I guess you do need one to stay there!
