We love Kauai and always appreciate any opportunity to be on island. Having to work while there, I opted for this property and the phenomenal views to hopefully see some whales. Definitely worked out well! :) The Galvin’s were extremely easy to communicate with, very responsive while I was there, and provided directions, ideas, and more to help with my stay. Truly a lovely experience!

We loved this little 1 bedroom. It was perfect for us. Clean, quiet & fully equipped. Owners were excellent communicators. Air conditioner worked great. Be sure to hold the remote near the a/c unit to turn it on. The ocean breeze was enough until late afternoon. We look forward to booking it again.

What a great location for everything we wanted to do. Before traveling I researched where to go to see great sunsets. Little did I know it was right at the condo. Plus, each morning I could watch surfers and sea turtles right from our windows or balcony. The condo was clean and included everything we needed for a great stay.

We had a great stay. We were on the island for a conference and loved to getaway to our condo at night. The sound of the waves was relaxing, other neighbors were friendly and the parrots at night were entertaining!

Lovely setting with a view of the ocean. Adjacent to The Beach House Restaurant. The spouting horn is a short drive away. Beach is steps from the condo, surfing and swimming.

Loved the condo and location. We saw sea turtles everyday from the lanai. We enjoyed watching the surfers and boogie boarders from the lanai. There was a small beach next door.

We had such a great time in this unit!
The view from the living room and kitchen is gorgeous, we watched surfers and turtles every day.
The kitchen is nicely updated and well stocked. The bed was comfy, and the couch was actually comfy too as is (my partner slept on it not folded out when he snored one night and found it nice).
Most importantly for us the AC in the living room and bedroom worked great!
The hosts were also very nice and responsive which we really appreciated.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is amazing and we enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and watching the surfers. It was so relaxing. There’s so much to do, eat and see right by the condo. This was our first trip to Kauai and I can't imagine finding a better location to enjoy and explore the island. We watched the sun set over the ocean every night from either the lanai or the lawn below the condo. The unit has everything a couple needs for a week of adventures -- cooking utensils, wi-fi, a small cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. We will definitely be back!

This property was exactly as advertised. The oceanfront view was amazing and the condo was roomy and clean. The communication with the owner was great and accessing the condo could not have been any easier. Only advice I would give to renters is be careful not to park under a palm tree overnight in this area, or you will have a bunch of nice presents on your car in the morning. Otherwise, the place was perfect.

The Galvins' place at Kuhio Shores was a wonderful place for my wife and me to stay in Poipu. Kauai is an island that needs to be explored, and it just does not make sense to me to spend an arm and a leg on a resort that you then feel committed to.
With their well-stocked kitchen, we were able to eat breakfast in the unit, make lunches for the road/trails, and enjoy cocktails and take-out dinner on the balcony in the evening, watching the surfers surf and the waves wave. Seriously, the ocean is only like 70 feet away, and even when all of the windows are closed, you can still hear the waves crashing. Also, I run very hot, and the fact that it has A/C was absolutely huge for me. Also, the Galvins were very responsive, both leading up to and during my stay. I would absolutely stay here again, without hesitation.

Awesome condo with an amazing view and great location. Loved sitting out at night listening to the waves and looking out at the Milky Way. Check-in was smooth as well. Will absolutely be staying here next time we’re in Po’ipu.

This home away from home exceeded our expectations, the view and access to the beach was great and the nightly surfers were fun entertainment. The only things we suggest is a better mattress…didn’t sleep much but what the heck, we were in Hawaii…and a Kuerig, us Washingtonians love our coffee.

This property has the view of dreams! The communication with the owners was pretty smooth and they were very nice. The maid came right at checkout but let us know we could take our time. We were in Poipu for a wedding at the Beach House, and it was awesome!! The owners were great at communicating, and we would definitely go back. So much fun to watch the very talented surfers from the balcony!!

This was a great property that checked the boxes for us. Killer views of the sunset and right on the water, with a clean space that allowed us to feel at home with the ability to cook when we wanted.
Good location close to Poipu beach and a little quieter than staying right by the resorts, which we loved. I would definitely stay here again.

Condo is located right next to Lawai Beach. Best snorkeling place on Kauai. Great Ocean views from lanai. Condo was furnished with everything we needed. Could use a deep cleaning and a little updating.

Can’t beat the ocean view. Saw whales every day. Also saw quite a few weddings and was fun to watch the surfers. Always had quick response from manager. Comfy bed and great shower water pressure. The 4 star review was due to the air conditioning not working and that was one of the main reasons we booked the condo. Bring a roll of quarters if you plan on using the laundry facilities :).

This location is wonderful. The view is beautiful and we were excited to see all of the sea turtles right off the lanai. We never needed that air conditioner; the ocean breeze and fans were plenty. The condo is stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and coolers for days at the beach. Access to shared laundry facilities had limited hours, which was really the only issue we had (based on the listing, I assumed we would have our own washer/dryer in our condo).

Can’t be any closer to the ocean. The condo was everything described. The only criticism I would give for our 7 day stay with 4 people was lack of toilet paper(3 rolls), paper towels (1 1/2 rolls) and no Kleenex tissues. There were only 4 bath towels for the 7 days.

The condo was very clean and comfortable. The updated kitchen had everything you need to save a little and enjoy meals in with gorgeous views from the lanai. There is a cove within walking distance that offered amazing snorkeling. We had sea turtles greeting us every time we stepped out onto the lanai. It is close to shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

We returned two days from beautiful Kauai and our visit to Kuhio Shores . This was a birthday trip for me, received 11 months prior, and the visit of a lifetime. Our condo was a wonderful surprise, with a gorgeous view and many amenities, which made our trip not only fun, but convenient. Not only did we avail ourselves of the lanai for a glass of wine or morning coffee, we enjoyed breakfast each morning in the dining nook, which allowed us a leisurely start to our day. We enjoyed proximity to shops, beaches, tourist attractions, and the Beach House restaurant, which was right next door. We also loved the outdoor ambience of Brennecke's, Keioko's Paradise, and the Olympic Café. We loved the sound of the surf and the golden sand beaches, and the overall kindness and courtesy of everyone we met. We participated in CJM trailrides, Kauai Sea tours (dinner tour to Napali ), the wonderful luau at the Grand Hyatt, and the Koloa Zipline. It was the trip of a lifetime, and we are already thinking about when we can return!

My 9 day stay at Kuhio Shores in Poipu, Kauai in #217 was just perfect. Beautiful oceanfront view and the lanai was perfect to watch the lovely sunsets and bright stars at night. The condo was very clean, nicely decorated, modern kitchen with all you need, beds and pillows so comfortable. It was nice to be able to walk to The Village for shopping and to Spouting Horn. The owners were very helpful in suggesting sights to explore. All in all, it was a taste of Paradise! Joanne

Just spent 8 days at #217 and found it to be an amazing place to stay. Located right on the oceanfront and the waves are crashing on the rocks for a very restorative and relaxing sound. The view from all the living area is spectacular and the many surfers were entertaining. The condo is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is great and has everything you need . The beds are comfortable. The lanai is such a great place, one our favorite things was sitting on the lanai with a glass of wine at the end of the day to watch the sunset. Kuhio Shores is a perfect location for getting to the many beautiful and exciting things to do on Kauai and Mike and Sue were great to give information about where to go. We loved walking to the spouting horn and to the shops at Kukuiula Village shops. Several very good restaurants there and we enjoyed the farmers market on Wednesday evenings. There is also very good ice cream and shave ice. Beaches on either side and easy access to Poipu Beach and other popular beaches. We are grateful to Mike and sue Galvin for sharing this wonderful place to stay.

We really really enjoyed our stay here! The view was amazing!!!! It was like living on the sea. I thought that a few nervous people can't sleep because of the big sounds of the waves. But we love the sound.
The room was well maintained, so, cozy and comfortable.The listing photos accurately reflect the condo's appearance and amenities.
There were everything what you need...the kitchen; well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils ...etc. We enjoyed preparing our meals every morning and evening.
Kuhio Shores was beautifully kept all over the place. The location was very convenient. You can get to Poipu beach after 5 min. drive. And Kukuiura Shopping Village was also very close. There were nice shops and restaurants.
AND, the owner was very helpful and kind. They answered my questions quickly and gave us accurately useful information. We appreciated them who gave a "home away from home" feel. We want to back to the condo right now!

I have just returned from 3 fabulous weeks staying at Kuhio Shores in this great condo. It is spacious and beautifully furnished and maintained with everything you need for a wonderful stay in Kauai. The unit is truly oceanfront with unobstructed ocean views and a very convenient location in Poipu. The building itself is very well maintained with nice grounds, and my favorite restaurant is right next door! The owners are very friendly and helpful and provide lots of useful information before you arrive and during your stay if needed. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone who wants to visit Kauai.

We had a fabulous stay at this Kuhio Shores unit. The owner was very helpful in responding to our questions and requests.The unit is very nicely appointed with upgraded renovations in the kitchen and bathroom . The view is simply spectacular.
We have stayed at numerous units at Kuhio Shores and this unit is the best value for money we have experienced.

My husband and I were travelling to Kauai after spending a week in Oahu with our adult children and their spouses. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and were looking for a nice 1 bedroom condo with waterfront views to spend 4 days before heading home to the east coast. We found a real gem in Kuhio Shores 217. From the time I contacted the owner to the end of our stay, the experience was wonderful. The owners, Mike & Sue, couldn't have been nicer, Key was mailed to us along with brochures on what to do and see on the island as well as detailed driving directions from the airport. The condo was very clean, the view spectacular and the kitchen had everything you needed for cooking meals. We prepared our dinners and sat out on the lanai to enjoy every last minute of daylight. We also enjoyed watching the surfers early in the morning while we had our breakfast and coffee. The owner, Mike, even called us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and if we could think of anything that we could have used. There was not as they thought of everything. There were beach towels, two beach chairs, an umbrella and even a small cooler which all were put to use. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to come back to this beautiful island.
