The Kuleana complex consists of 7 low rise buildings (no higher than 3 floors). Most locations in Maui require you to drive somewhere, but Kuleana has its own secret – a beautiful little cove situated within the gated grounds. Kuleana Resort has a wonderful BBQ area on the ocean’s edge that is lit by tiki torches while grilling and enjoying the sunset! It is walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and the farmers market.

BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to heavy surf, strong currents and tides. Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.
IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

This stay was great. We felt extremely lucky in how many turtles we saw on the beach. We lost count! It was very central to Lahaina. The AC in the bedroom was loud but we turned it off eco mode (and made it less cool to still conserve energy!) and it was fine. Recommend!!!

Although 310 isn’t oceanfront there’s still a great view of the ocean between buildings. The A/C unit in the bedroom is quite noisy but we stayed cool enough with a overhead fan. We could have used more cleaning supplies especially with a glass table top on the lanai where we spent most of our time. The grounds are very well maintained. Parking can be a challenge with very small spaces so don’t be surprised if you get warning tickets.

My husband and I had a great time during our honeymoon in Hawaii! We really enjoyed this condo. The view was pretty, the bed was comfortable, and it was just right for two people.
The only reason I am giving it 3 stars... (1) The property wasn't the cleanest. The first night there, I found a couple of big dead bugs on the floor (I don't know if they were roaches, waterbugs, etc., but they resembled). (2) The unit had a window unit in the bedroom, and ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. The bedroom was great and stayed very cool while we slept. However, with it being hot outside, the fan in the living room was not keeping the room cool at all, even with the window unit blowing cold from the bedroom with the door opened. We didn't get to enjoy lounging around in the living room at night very much because of this. (3) The towel rack in the bathroom broke off the wall when we tried to hang our towel on it. Some things in the unit just need a little bit of attention.
We didn't spend much time actually in the condo since we were out doing things the whole week. We slept great, but the things I mentioned made our time in the condo a little less pleasing.

Good location for quieter experience. Steps to the ocean with rocky shoreline, ladder to great snorkeling and a small gently surfing. Small sandy beach at end of complex. Property and landscaping well maintained with pool large enough for laps. Friendly, mature residences and repeat stays. Condo was clean and appropriately planned (beach chairs could use some upgrading). Would stay there again.

Had a great stay at the Kuleana in Feb/March with our two kiddos. We loved the grounds of the property, watching whales, spending time on the beach and in the pool. The condo itself has been nicely updated and had just about all we needed. When we arrived there was no ice or ice cube trays. I let the management company know and they delivered both within a few hours!
A few things that would have made the stay better-drying rack for towels and swimsuits, a more comfortable bed (very lumpy), more detailed cleaning (the closet doors were COVERED in dust) and a few more storage racks.
We loved the property and will be back to the Kueana for sure (perhaps to a different unit closer to the ocean though).

We loved our unit and the view but had a couple examples where we were told that neighbors (probably owners) thought we were being too loud - one being my 9yo and 6yo playing in the pool at 5pm. Seems to be a very quiet community with retirees that may not appreciate families being around. Other than this - we felt the unit was well appointed and the view was perfectly shown in the pictures.

We enjoyed our stay but the unit is quite a bit smaller than it appears in the listing. The unit is the same width as the terrace, so maybe 12 feet? The living area is roughly 12x8 and the kitchen is pretty cramped. The bed is king sized and the bedroom just barely accommodates it. That said, the view is beautiful and there are lots of places to eat and shop within one to 1 1/2 miles. The pool is good sized and well maintained. There was no beach when we were here in January but we were able to watch many whales and stunning sunsets from the terrace.
My only real complaint is the parking lot. Some of the spaces are so narrow that even in our sub-compact rental car we sometimes had to shimmy to get out and in. In fact, someone dinged our car pretty good. Add to that the fact that each night, if you are not parked perfectly between the line, you will get a notice on your car about it.
Overall it’s a good place for no more than two people to stay and you will love spending time on the terrace.

The unit need a loving touch. The smell was offensive old musty stuffy smells from not being cleaned thoroughly on a regular basic. The floors where nasty. It needed to be beautified. I cleaned it washed the bed linens because they where not fresh smelling. I purchase cleaning supplies . When I finished the unit it was fresh smelling plus I made a few decorative adjustments that created beauty.. I talked with a worker who came over to assist with the TV. He was very impressed and thanked me for cleaning the unit. The electrical plugs in the condo where overloaded needed more plugs and up dated outlets to many
attachments. . Location is excellent. I think some updates the shower have a soil spots , fresh coat of paint white will brighten it up. We had to make it our home for 34 days I believe. I only hope that the owners take better care of these units because they are making lots of cash. We did not sleep in the bed because it was not comfortable, the pillows had old stains and

Great location. It is small but all three adults in our party never felt crowded.. The sofa bed was very comfortable. The patio has beautiful views of the pool and distant ocean. The back of the property has some of the most beautiful sunset views that we experienced on this side of the island. Very quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here next time in Maui. Aloha.

The property location was good. Although no real beach on the property, there are several great beaches within a few minutes drive. The property is DATED! It was not clean. The floor was particularly gross. The bed was comfortable, however the “barn door” on the bedroom was obnoxious if your trying to keep the bedroom cool with the only air conditioner mounted in the bedroom.
The cost for the property seemed particularly high once the management fees and other fees were added on top of the base rate.
Bottom line, won’t rent again.

Beautiful property! The grounds were well-kept and every day we watched the turtles playing in our own private beach. Our unit itself was recently remodeled. Our only negative was the mattress which has been complained about many times on this site and yet still has not been replaced. Also the shower had a bad smell of sweat, although it was all very clean. For the price this was a great place to stay. With a few changed, it would have been perfect!
