We have been coming to Kauai for forty years and have enjoyed both the Grand Hyatt and other condos, but this view is unbeatable. The unit is in excellent shape with lovely appointments. Thanks to large windows and mirrors, we could enjoy the views from every angle. We also enjoyed walking to Spouting Horn, Kukui'ula Village, and Poipu Beach. And anytime
we felt like snorkeling, we just walked a few steps to Lawai Beach. Whenever we ventured out, we were delighted to return to our lanai and embrace the views. We made sure we were home to watch sunsets and loved watching both turtles and surfers. In the past, we always loved going to the Beach House, but with this view, I recommend you bring your own fixings for MaiTais!
Some reviewers complained about weddings next door. Over the weekend, there was one wedding and a number of people milling about to watch the sunset. We never found the activity unpleasant. In fact, we found joy in watching so many people sharing the ocean whether they were locals fishing or a young couple getting married. If you need privacy, the cleverly designed window coverings, sliding doors, and AC will allow it.

This condo worked great for our family of 4! Great sunsets and location. We loved being able to walk right out onto the lawn off the lanai. Even with the Beach House restaurant next door, it was quiet. We really appreciated having a boogie board and the 3 beach chairs. Kitchen was well-appointed (there are now enough coffee filters to last years lol). We will be back!

The unit itself was beautiful and very clean. It was only my husband and myself so only one bedroom was needed, and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the surfers. The tent at the restaurant was up the entire stay, so views were obstructed. There is also a lack of privacy due to it being an end unit, with locals walking past the windows throughout the day and evenings. The locals also spend days (setting up beach chairs and blankets during the day) on the lawn only feet from, and directly in front of the patio and others show up in the evening with chairs , or to stand to watch the sunset. I reserved this corner unit for the views and was disappointed the lawn area is so heavily used by others. For that reason I took 1 star away. However, the unit itself was immaculate and very comfortable with great air conditioning and ceiling fans.

This property is located in an ideal spot that showcases the daily surfing that takes place right in front of the unit. We enjoyed the ability to never have to leave our unit to snorkel at the beach in front of Snorkel Bob's. We loved seeing a wedding at the Beachhouse right next door- although the tent remained up our entire stay so the west-facing views aren't quite what the photos of the unit are currently. The unit was meticulously clean. The management company was responsive to any questions. We would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. Wanted a ground-level unit so we didn't have to use stairs--& that also puts you up close and personal with the shore. Unit itself is updated, roomy, & nicely appointed. We only needed 1 bedroom but appreciated having 2 bathrooms at times. The view (& ocean sounds) are very nice with the ocean just outside your doors, & plenty of surfers to watch, but do be prepared to share that view with all the people who are staying across the street & come over into "your" back yard to enjoy it, too. Note: it's ocean front but NOT sandy beach front to swim. Next store is Beach House Restaurant--just OK food & a little pricey-- but great location on the water, too if you can snatch a reservation before sunset. (can't see the water in the dark.) They hosted 2 weddings during our 5 night stay & had a lg, lighted tent on their lawn immediately adjacent to our unit. With the sliding doors closed you could hear them but still hear each other talk and they cut off promptly at 9 pm so we had no complaint. This is a great location to explore the island from--we used Makana Charters for a Napali Coast Tour, then a day at Waimea Canyon, then headed up to Kapaa and Kilauea Lighthouse. We have "done" Kauai before so decided not to go up that way again for Hanalei going instead to go to lovely Poipu Beach 5 minutes away rather than make the drive up a 2nd time as we 1st thought we would to Hanalei, but we could have. The staff is helpful, we used the Poipu Athletic Club (about 4 minutes away by car & included in the price) 3 mornings so that was a nice amenity. Beds were comfy, AC works great, place was very clean, had beach chairs, towels, coolers, plenty of choices for dining & local kine shopping all near by. This a nice home base to come back to each evening & reflects upscale yet beachy style. FYI, the bedroom/bathroom doors are louvered (pretty natural wood) but I might have worried about privacy between the bedrooms if we had been with others.

Recommend notifying renters about the wedding parties that occur adjacent to the rental. Some of the wedding guys pay no attention or care about your privacy. Many entered the property to smoke, urinate, and do drug deals. Rather disappointing to deal with…

Unbelievable views, the ocean, surfers, sea turtles and sunsets. The Beach House is a great restaurant next door, food is pricey but excellent. They also host a lot of weddings but they shut them down at 10pm the latest. Plenty of shops around the area; Poipu, Old Koala town and so much to do in less then 20 minutes from the condo.

The only thing we weren't crazy about it that it seemed like the area off the lania was a gathering space for everyone else to enjoy the view in the evenings as well. This was our Family's first trip to Kauai. Even though we saw the pictures of the property, we weren't prepared for how amazing it was. The ocean was so close and we had a great time watching the surfers on the lanai! What a great way to experience the south shore!

The location was great and convenient to plenty of great beaches, shopping and eating. PKs beach is right in your backyard which makes for great surfing watching. Beware that you will share your lawn with a bunch of local kids but most were respectful. There were also a few weddings right next door during our stay but we enjoyed the music and they promptly wrap up at 10 pm. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The beds are comfy and it was nice to have two full bathrooms for our family of 4.

This property was beautiful for views. We loved that it was 2 bathroom and we could walk to the wonderful snorkeling beach right next door. You could see sea turtles swimming while eating breakfast.
The only thing we would recommend is that the laundry is in the community area of the condo and you should remember to bring coins.

This condo is wonderful. The snorkeling on the beach right next door was stupendous, as were the sunsets and sunrises. The only negative was that the lanai had a lot of spiderwebs which we cleaned off before we were able to relax and enjoy the view.

Quite a lot of foot traffic behind the unit and people from the condos across the road using the yard behind the condo like it was a public park. At sunset put 15-20 people in front of you in the view picture with the wine glass and surfer. The lack of privacy made it seem a bit over priced.

The views from 119 are breathtaking. Would've been nice to know in advance that there is no air conditioner in the unit. However, the breeze helped cool down the afternoon temperatures. The washing machine was broken and could not be fixed while staying there. Management knew about the wash machine, but did not inform us prior to arrival. When I called about it we were told to just use the laundry mat. A bit inconvenient but overall our stay was pleasant. This unit is much better than the fourth floor unit 318 that we stayed in part of our honeymoon. 318 is just too hot to stay in for long.

My newly wed wife and I stayed here on the second half of our honeymoon. We knew the property was on the beach but it's safe to say we underestimated how close and beautiful the view was going to be. We loved waking up makin breakfast and watching the surfers in the morning. We were also pleasantly surprised by a bottle of champagne with two chilled glasses waiting in the fridge for us. Arriving home from our stay in poipu was pretty depressing, I'll admit. Get us back there!

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores 119; the location is amazing - views of surfers and sunsets, the sound of waves crashing, snorkeling in the morning before breakfast, tons of turtles... the unit itself was very nicely furnished and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and there is a gas grill in the complex that we used to sample fresh Hawaiian fish that we bought from a nearby market. The rental process was easy, communication was prompt, and we were personally welcomed when we arrived. Highly recommended!

We have stayed at Kuhio Shores a number of times before, but not in this particular unit. We love this property because of the proximity to one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island, the surf (and lots of turtles) just 30 feet from our lanai, as well as one of the best restaurants (the Beach House), both right next door (you don't even need flip flops to walk over there). This unit was better appointed than any of the others in which we have stayed, and has one of the best locations on the property (ground floor, end unit, closest to the beach). We requested an early check-in, as we were moving from another unit in the same building, and this was readily accommodated. It was very nice to have two king size beds and a washing machine/dryer in the unit, which none of the other units had. There was also snorkeling gear, a boogie board and four beach chairs in the unit. It would have been nice if this unit had lounges on the lanai (that is the only thing we missed about the other condo), but the chairs provided were OK too. This condo is a bit more expensive than some of the others, but we will definitely stay here again. Sunny Poipu is the place to be! (our friends stayed in Princeville and got a lot more rain during their stay at this same time). We love Kauai (have been there 9 times), and look forward to our next trip, during which we will definitely try to stay in this unit at Kuhio Shores again.

With the ocean right in front of you, a semi-private lagoon for snorkeling 100 yards to the right of you, a 5-star restaurant a few yards from your front door, what could be better? This is our second stay at Kuhio Shores #119 and we had another wonderful vacation. Kauai has everything except the wall to wall hotels and overcrowded beaches. There is so much to do, you have to come back to do more. Our family of 4 adults couldn't have been more pleased. Mahalo and aloha and we will definitely be back soon.

This unit with it's two corner windows gave us an almost panoramic view of the ocean. The unit is well "stocked in the kitchen and in the bathrooms there are hit dryers and even a curling iron. Furnishings were so a appropriate for Kauai. No need to worry about things for the beach. There are chairs, boogie board, large and small ice chests etc. Wonderful view of each sunset.Being on the ground floor mad it so accessible to the parking lot.We made a GREAT choice in sleeking 119!

The property description was accurate and the location couldn't have been any better! Great costumer service from property management. The condo had all the amenities that a family would need. Our only concern was the lack of cleanliness. It defiantly needs a spring cleaning and or at the least some cleaning supplies on hand.

Nice location - wonderful to watch surfers and the turtles. However, it appears that everyone enjoys standing right at the water's edge in front of you. So, in the afternoons and evenings you see more backsides than the ocean from the lanai. The appliances could be upgraded. The location right next to the restaurant can get noisy when they have a wedding - they had 4 during our 10-day stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but will rent farther away from the restaurant next time.

Great place, we rented three condos here during the week and had four guys staying here which was great because it was perfect surf access to the best breaks on Poipu. Only issue was noise due to multiple weddings at The Beach House next door, every day not just on Saturday, since this unit is on the end of the complex next to Beach House, there is really no sound break....Overall, great setting and a wonderful week!

Top marks for professional service during booking and then again with the follow up after our stay. Very accessible condo, nicely furnished, comfy beds, beautiful view. We felt secure the whole time. We were a bit put off by 3 things: 1) There was an insane amount of dust on the silk plants in the second bedroom and bathroom. When you observe that type of cleaning oversight, you can't help but wonder what else might have been overlooked. We put the plants in a closet to keep them far away. 2) Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the master bathroom and no more provided. There was an extra roll in the other bathroom. We had to buy additional toilet paper which really "bummed" us out given that is generally a supplied item. 3) We like to cook at home. However, I would like to see that the owners do a better assessment of the supplies they provide. For example, supplying Saran wrap, food storage containers (Tupperware), and maybe a few more items in addition to salt, pepper and sugar. We would recommend this spot as it has a lot to offer to others but would caution them on the above items. This review was also posted on VRBO and owner's response only addressed item 3 (just barely) - so I'm not certain if they really are interested in guest reviews which are not 100% glowing. Oh well.

This vacation rental was wonderful! We were 15 feet from the water, with terrific snorkeling. Giant green sea turtles were crowding around the rocks. We saw flying fish from the patio, jumping 6-7 feet in the air. We watched humpback whales spouting and diving. Parking; next to very good restaurant; next to snorkel rental; fantastic views of sunrise and sunset. Rental company very accommodating -- allowed us to checkout a few hours later because our plane was leaving later. Highly recommend.

Wow - my husband and I have been traveling to Hawaii since 1986. Kauai haws been our long term favorite island and Poipu our favorite location on the island. Now we have found our favorite location at Poipu - it's Kuhio Shores #119. Can't decide what we liked the best. The location, the view, the surfers in the "front yard", the notable "Beach House" Restaurant next door, or the two king beds which makes it so easy to bring along another couple. The unit faces south and being on that side of the building we were totally protected from the winds and showers that were present during our springtime visit, April 20-27, 2014. The surf was high and the surfers were mesmerizing - such fun to watch! In all our visits to Hawaii we have never had the privilege of sitting on our lanai and watching surfers. This was such a treat. Can't recommend Kuhio Shores #119 enough! Just hope we can get our next reservation when we want to return!!! Thanks Poipu365 you were great and made it so easy!!! My husband and I recently returned from a ten day vacation visit to Kauai where we stayed at Kuhio Shores #119. Over the years we have stayed in several condos and houses in a variety of countries and states. We would rate our stay at Kuhio Shores very high among those experiences. Condo #119 is ground floor with a great view of the ocean. We were treated to daily displays by whales and dolphins, views of sea turtles from the sea wall and each day ended with great sunsets. Excellent snorkeling was just a few yards aways. We do not surf but those that do would find this to be an excellent spot to do so. The condo management certainly gets five stars for paying attention to details...with the condo being very clean and well equiped and having all needed kitchen items and ample paper products, detergents, and soaps for our entire stay. The condo is an easy 30 minute drive from the airport and located centrally for visits to the the north and west coasts and up into the Kokee State Park area. Also, well postioned regarding the local shops and places to eat. A very clean and secure evirnoment with easy parking. If we return to Kauai, we would certainly go to Kuhio Shores again.

This is probably the best location in all of Poipu. Unfortunately, the unit was in desperate need of a remodeling. I heard after our stay that a remodel would be done after we left. The unit is very expensive and I think charging that much in that condition was outrageous. Worn furniture, floors, mattresses, lack of supplies in the kitchen, bathroom tub drain that would not drain, etc, etc. With the shabby condition, the unit should have been discounted. The property management staff was not very responsive and my security deposit is still not returned to me--2 and a half weeks later. Be sure a renovation has been done before renting this unit. I would recommend this unit if it were renovated.

At the end of February my husband,daughter,son-in-law and I stayed four nights in this beautiful condo. It was perfect for our needs. We loved being so close to the ocean,walking down to the beach to snorkel, exploring the pools and of course sitting right on the lawn in front of our lanai to watch the beautiful sunsets. There is some foot traffic along the side of the condo as this is a corner unit, but this did not bother us at all. When needed we could close the lower shades which provided complete privacy while still allowing us to view the ocean and sunset. We felt so fortunate to have this condo so close to the ocean and on the ground floor. To be able to step right out the screen door and have an unobstructed view of the water was wonderful. The condo itself has a great layout and is very clean and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your meals if you want. We ate there everyday and prepared some wonderful fish dinners. We saw no need to eat out as we could buy fresh seafood nearby and also fresh produce from farmers markets. There are also pantry supples available for your use in the cabinets. There is a nice restaurant next door, but we never felt the need to go out as we loved staying in our own beautiful spot. We hope to visit again. Great memories of this lovely place!

You can't get any closer to the water! Very pleasant ocean breezes and the sound of the waves is very relaxing. The unit was a good size and had all the amenities. Only negative is that tenants/guests using our outdoor furniture in order to enjoy the view; this was not a very comforting feeling. Signs should be posted to inform others not to do this.

You do get a lot of foot traffic and people laying out in front of the condo. We really didn’t spend too much time in the condo but it was nice and clean. I would stay here again. The only problem we had was we landed early about 11am and wanted to do an early check n so we called property management poipu365 and they were rude with us and said “you know check in isn’t until 4”. By the time we got our luggage and a shuttle and got to the condo it was about 12 am figured it would be ok. The cleaning crew was there so we and understood they had a job and waited for them to finish to call back. Mind you we had 6 bags of luggage to lug around. But we when called they never answered. We tried about 4 more times and still no answer or call back from the VM we left. My contract said 3 pm was check in and they even have a plaque on the wall that says check in is at 3pm I have no idea why they would tell us 4pm. They did say we had to wait for cleaning and maintenance. Cleaning crew said maintenance was never called and they were never going to come so luckily cleaning crew treated us better then property management and let us put our bags in the room and when they finished they allowed us in. We definitely had no complaints about the condo but would never go through poipu365 again. Other than that the place was great and the people who manage the building and grounds were very nice!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo. Its placement right on the ocean was perfect for us. We could sit on our lanai or the lawn and watch whales go by. There was also a couple of huge turtles that liked to hang out right in front of the condo. I liked how we were right on the end on the first floor. Very convenient to the parking lot too. We never had trouble finding a place to park. Beds were comfortable. There is no laundry in the unit, but they do have machines available on each floor. The machines take quarters and we had to go find a bank to get rolls of quarters. What we didn’t realize was that if you go up to the 3rd floor laundry, they have a change machine. The Beach House restaurant is right next door and they host weddings on the lawn literally 20 feet from your lanai. There were weddings going on 5 of the 7 nights we were there. This didn’t bother us, but if you plan on staying in this unit you should be aware. We would actually sit on the lawn and watch for fun. They would play music and they would be dancing until 9:45 each night. Fine for us, but if you have toddlers or babies, I don’t think you would be ok with it. All in all - we had a great time and I would recommend this condo.

What a wonderful condo!
The location is prime - the sunsets from the front yard are amazing. If you look up "best places to see sunsets in Poipu", the Beach House is one of the suggestions...and that is just next door.
THERE IS AC!!! Which made the stay so comfortable.
This is a ground floor condo, which makes it so easy to walk out and enjoy the view of ocean. I never heard anyone above us, even though there were people there (we saw them on their own balcony and said hi.)
There are two large bedrooms, tons of closet space all over the place - much more than just a closet in each room. There were also closets in each bathroom, plus two huge closets by the front door. Overall, a well laid out place.
The beds were comfortable.
The bathrooms are spacious and stylish, and the kitchen is well equipped. There is wonderful snorkeling just a few steps down the sidewalk from this condo (on the other side of the Beach House Restaurant.) Just bring pool socks or watershoes as it is pretty rocky.
We also saw turtles from the front yard.
I think this might be one of the best condos in the area. We will def. be back.

The view from this condo is spectacular. It was clean, updated and well furnished.
The biggest con is the living area feels like a fish bowl since you have public access on one side and stairs to the water just a few yards from the lanai.
For us we can over look that for the sunsets, being steps from the water, the view, the sounds of the waves crashing, and feeling like you are on the ocean.

This location has beautiful views. We were able to see whales and turtles from the patio. It was also fun to watch the surfers. The property was very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The Athletic Club was up the road about a mile so it was easy to access to use swimming pool.

Let me start by saying we would definitely stay here again. The view is amazing and there’s nothing like falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. The booking and payment process was easy. The condo has everything you need for your stay, a well-stocked kitchen, beach towels and beach chairs. I recommend walking to baby beach which is about five minutes by foot. The only reason for four stars on the location is proximity to the Beachhouse restaurant. While that’s great if you want to have dinner, there were weddings two of our four nights’ stay, so the music was kind of loud; however, they were finished between 9 and 10 PM. Also, public beach access is right alongside this unit and passerbys can look right in the windows. The grassy area was fabulous for sunset viewing. We also saw a sea turtle right at the rock’s edge. Parakeets roost in the palm trees every night. If they bomb your car, there is a hose available in the parking lot 😀. I wish I could post some pics/video.

The location was wonderful. Well maintained grounds with a stunning ocean view. Tasteful decor. Ground floor was nice in that we could just step outside to walk or watch the surfers or go snorkeling. Not a sandy beach area, but you can still access the water if you maneuver over the rocks. One note: It is right next to a restaurant that has an outside venue for weddings, so there were weddings from 4-9 pm many of the nights we were there. Wasn't a big problem, but I hadn't expected that.Wonderful sunset watching location!

This property was AMAZING. I repeat AMAZING. To be able to hear the ocean ALL DAY LONG was my fave part. I’ve stayed in many oceanfront locations but nothing beats the soothing sounds from this unit. I visit kauai often & Im for SURE staying here again. Oh & to be able to CLEARLY see sunrises AND sunsets ALL IN ONE PROPERTY!!, I literally cried frm so much joy. The only very minor hiccups were a couple things that didnt match the pictures…the pics showed boogie boards & what looked like a bathtub in one of the bathrooms. These 2 things were not present. My fault though for not clarifying directly with Vicki. Also the pics show slightly different presentation of kitchen (fridge color, countertops) but did not affect the overall stay at all. I loved watching the weddings next door, music is audible if u like to get your dancing on. It was a little bothersome that the wedding parties (& any general public) can set up on your extended lanai & take pics, watch the sunset, etc. But I guess that’s the price you pay for having a beautiful end unit who’s lawn/lanai is shared with public property. I LOVED having direct access to the water & watching surfers all times of the day. I give this rental 5stars, A++, 100% rating! MAHALOZ
