Our stay was a mixture of both good and bad experience.
Good:
-Location: the place is in a perfect location with nice view and in a quiet neighborhood. It is closed to all nice hiking trails and less crowds. Grocery store is less than 10 min away, which is very convenience. It was raining, storming and windy almost everyday when we were there, so a quick run to the Food Land grocery store was all we did.
-The condo: well stock with all the essential items that needed for a week-long stay.
- The owner, Will, was VERY responsive in answering my calls or text even when he couldn't do anything.
Bad:
- The place was not cleaned when we checked in at 5:30 p.m. Dirty towels, trash and other stuff were still there. We had to leave the place so that the housekeeper can come in to clean it. It was not a good start of a vacation.
- The TV was not working; the audio was completely dead. It was raining and windy during our stay, so we stuck inside the condo without any entertainments. This made the whole stay unbearable. After telling us "to figure it out", the owner offered to refund us $200 to compensate for this, still we already disappointed.
- The towels were old and smelly, It seemed like they were left for days before being washed, or they were left in the washer for a long time before they get put in the dryer. We had to rewash all of them but the smell was still there.
Overall, I wish we had a better stay and to enjoy the condo more. Unfortunately, we did not.

We had a great time in Kauai. Will was great to work with. The condo is beautiful and the views are amazing. Would have been nice to have a little morw space for dry goods. Having the coolers to use was nice.

Had about 15 hours of travel after we got up to this condo in princeville. No key was left in lockbox for us to get in. Was asked repeatedly to try to break in and crawl through a window, everything was locked and not possible. Was also told the cleaning lady wasnt even showing up until dec 5th, we had dec 4th til the 13th booked for 7+ months. With warm groceries and 3 tired kids he got us a condo in kapaa for 3 nights and another 40 min drive back down towards lihue. Condo is in great shape and looks way better than the pictures they have posted. Tv and the dvd player were not in working order, host didnt seem to care. Take a chance if you want a nice place for a decent cost, but you might have to crawl through a window to get in. Owners really need to update to touch pad entry door.

I had a moment of absolute panic, because as many people know, Will had no obligation to do anything to help me and my family find other accommodations for our stay. But, not only did he do that, but he found us amazing accommodations, all while he was on vacation himself. Im sure this was so stressful for him, as not only was his unit damaged, but he took it upon himself with the help of his housekeeper to ensure our stay was still taken care of. He also continued to check in with us to make sure we were good. I would have no hesitation renting from Will again and know that we would be in good hands. Excellent customer service, as I have heard of horror stories from people just being stranded.

The condo itself is very nice and has all the amenities that we like, great kitchen, beach gear, nice breeze in the afternoon, beautiful view, proximity to all that the north shore of Kauai has to offer, pool access and an outdoor bbq grill.
The differences between our stay the 1st time and 2nd were minor and not all related to the property and the owner. The only thing I'd ding the owner on was the floors and balcony were very sandy when we checked in. Yes this is Hawaii and sand is everywhere and I understand they are having staffing issues on the north shore, it's just that last year the place was cleaner. Again this is a minor complaint that wouldn't stop me from booking this property again.
The owner was very responsive when I reached out to contact him about another issue which was great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on the north shore of Kauai.

Beautiful view, comfortable apartment, excellent pool, perfectly adequate for our family of 5. Lots of beach towels, a cooler and flippers, but no masks, chairs (they were broken), or boogie boards. The light in the twin room was out. The location was excellent and the weather was perfect! Mahalo.

The home has a great ocean view and was very clean. We would recommend this home. It would have helped to have a second house key, as folks don’t always travel together on their Kauai excursions. All in all - a delightful stay! Thank you!

This location is absolutely amazing! Easy parking, beautiful walking trails, ocean view from every corner and condo had everything you need for comfortable stay- lot of upgrades.
We spent every morning and night sitting on lanai enjoying the sound of ocean and watching chickens, roosters, nenes, birds roam around.

This condo has been very tastefully updated, and has incredible ocean views over the cliffs. Alii Kai has easy parking, pool, and grills to use. We will try to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!

This condo was perfect for our family, 4 adults. Both bathrooms are nicely remodeled, great water pressure and the washer & dryer are a nice addition in the large master suite. The kitchen has most everything you need.
The deck is small, but what a view! And with the doors wide open the ocean breezes blow through and out the ding window. Nice ceiling fans throughout, we didn’t miss not having a/c.
The surrounding condos, resorts and homes are all connected by the the beautiful streets to walk. The grounds are beautiful and there are a few viewpoints where you can sit high above the ocean and watch the sunset and the surf. There is no safe path to the beach, but Hanalei Bay and Anini Beach are both so close.
I would definitely recommend this property to my family and friends!

No key in lock box. Contacted owner and waited for about an hour in the dark and heavy rain. Cleaning staff arrived and got us in. She did a quick clean as it wasn’t done yet. After that, vacation went well. Nice place. Nice location. Great view of ocean.

This is a great condo. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Excellent breezes right off the ocean. Ocean views. Has everything you could possibly want. Close to everything on the North Shore. We had an amazing visit. The only downside was that unfortunately, during the last two days of our trip the upstairs condo had their bathrooms renovated and it was very loud. Luckily we basically left the condo and explored as much as we could. We would totally stay here again.

This property was very nice. Pictures posted are slightly different as renovation done. We did very much enjoy or stay there. Location, amenities, parking were all good. Beautiful view from balcony. We watched whales every morning. No Hot tub. Not necessary unless long term stay. After 7 days and some wind and rain we might have enjoyed a hot tub in the evening. Balcony small. For two people only. Two of us ate every day on balcony. Would not have worked for more people.
The kitchen was adequate but to improve the customer experience would be in need of some upgrades. Most kitchen items were unusable. Some pans were unusable due to rust, wear or some burnt on mess. Some knives had rust spots and some had a type of coating that was pealing off as we used them. Sharpened knives would have been helpful as well. The steel provided would not bring them back to any useful state. A garlic press would also be useful, but none there. Proper grill tongues needed. Glassware had some type of cloudy film that washing did not seem to remove. Must be a Hawaii thing? Shower stalls, mirrors could have been polished as they had some type of hard water film on them. Although noticeable, it did not overly take away the enjoyment of the property. All in all, for the dollar value, this place was great.

This property sits in an outstanding location in an upscale neighborhood. The reviews others have written describe it to a tee. We used it as a base for several fun activities we drove to, including hiking the Na Pali Coastline, surf lessons, kayaking, and snorkeling. After we became more familiar with the surroundings, we found amazing hikes and adventures exist just outside the condo's front door - Turtle Cove, Sealodge Beach, a path to Honalei Bay, Hideaway Beach, ....(on and on). We were unable to fit all the front-door activities in, and we plan to return to do so!
The view from the main bedroom was absolutely, drop-dead amazing!

Enjoyed our after Thanksgiving stay. The VRBO was recently redone and nice. The location is good. Listening to the waves crashing against the cliffs at night is amazing. The condo is close to everything. I’d do it again.

We enjoyed sitting at the family table for dinners and seeing the ocean view! We loved the sound of waves crashing at night and the wind! Short walk to Sea Lodge Beach. My wife and I stayed in this condo for 8 days. I have nothing but good things to say about this rental. We used it as our base while we explored Kauai for the first time. There's not too much to do in Princeville, but Hanalei Bay was a 12 minute drive away. Tunnels beach took a little over 30 minutes to get to. Anini beach was about 15 minutes away. A drive to Kapaa on the west side of the island took about 35 minutes.
The Alii Kai condos are tucked up at the edge of the cliffs with a northern view of the Pacific ocean. There are some steep trails that lead down to the ocean very close to this condo. The nearest notable ones are the Queen's Bath and Turtle Cave. My wife and I were tempted to trek down but we didn't. Maybe next time. Overall the condo complex is quiet and the pool is lovely. The people we met there were all very nice.
The condo itself is definitely a gem. The kitchen had all the appliances and cookware we needed for home made meals and with Foodland and the Hanalei Bay Dolphin fish market close by we took advantage of the amenities. Luckily for us there were plenty of seasonings left from previous renters so we didn't have to spend money on salt and pepper and herbs for our breakfasts and dinners. Although there is no AC in the condo there was a breeze every evening and the condo would cool off significantly over night. We were there during early September with temps in the upper 80's and it wasn't uncomfortable.
The condo also had plenty of towels both for the bathroom and beach and a ton of beach gear. Fins, snorkels, a cooler, chairs, umbrellas, there was a lot to discover in the condo to take to the beach. And there were a family of Nene's hanging out in back everyday.
Overall I give this condo 5 stars. I would definitely rent it again.

Condo was clean and well stocked with lots of useful things (beach chairs, body boards, snorkels, spices, appliances) It wasn't clear that there were different pools for the Alii and Alii 2 resorts so people were getting stuck inside the wrong one after following someone in. Happened 4 times in one day that we saw.

Stunning views from every room. Sea breeze blowing in from the windows was so refreshing. Very comfortable beds, chairs, couches. We could see the mountains and ocean from the pool. Loved BBQing poolside. Manager got back to us within minutes. Thank you for providing beach towels, sand toys, chairs and more for our beach excursions. Thank you so much! Stunning views from every room. Sea breeze blowing in from the windows was so refreshing. Very comfortable beds, chairs, couches. We could see the mountains and ocean from the pool. This apartment was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It has obviously been remodeled, and is updated with modern conveniences and extra touches. We especially appreciated the extra spray nozzle in each shower. The beds were really comfortable and we made use of the available beach accessories. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

If there were 10 stars, we'd happily give it! We just came back from staying a week, at Will's beautiful condo. The unit was more than expected, flawless, and amazing! We've stayed at Ali I Kai/Princeville, every year, for the past 15 years. And this 2 bed/2bath condo has to be our favorite! The price is so reasonable. The beautiful corner condo unit is freshly upgraded throughout. It's very modern, and had everything we needed, plus more. Including washer/dryer. It was extremely clean too.
Will was always super responsive.
Thank you so much, Will, for welcoming us in your gorgeous condo. We will surely look forward to booking our future Kauai vacations, at this awesome unit. We already miss the condo and Kauai!

Ali Kai was a fantastic location. Views were unbelievable. We had a small problem initially but it was dealt with quickly. The unit was better than advertised and had everything we could possibly need to enjoy our stay. We definitely plan to make this our go-to place to stay in Princeville.

The property is exactly as described the window view and the lanai view were amazing! The unit was even better looking inside I think it was remodeled. I have everything I needed during my one week stay. Check in and Check out process was simple. I will definitely stay here again if it was available for me next time! Mahalo 😘

Our family found this place perfect. Had everything that we needed. Location was perfect for north shore activities.
The first time we used google maps it took us to the street behind we arrived very late at night so it took me a couple of minutes to read the description sent
We used the sturdy camp chairs the most. It would have been nice if they had an air filler to fill the floating tubes that would have been great for the beach.
The in house laundry was great.
We will definitely stay at this place on our next visit to kauai

This home was in a great location. It was in fantastic condition and had everything we needed. The owner provided lots of additional extras for our stay, including beach towels and recreational equipment. The washer/dryer were a good size and in good working order. The showers were spacious and comfortable (but maybe don’t expect a particularly hot shower). Privacy was limited but the photos fairly represent that and regardless, it was still very quiet.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Delightfully surprised by the recent renovations and amenities here. We had all the tools necessary to cook and then some. Loved the waffle maker. Snorkel gear galore. Washer and dryer were top notch. The view and back patio was OUT OF THIS WORLD. My only problem, which is completely out of the owners control, is upstairs tenants. The floor seems to be very thin. Our upstairs neighbors were up at all hours and kept us up at all hours with loud stomping. Again, not to the fault of the property owner at all.. but something to consider if you’re a light sleeper and you get active upstairs neighbors.

Nicely remodeled with everything that our family of 4 needed for a week in paradise. Beautiful view of the ocean. We always felt safe in the beautiful neighborhood. Appreciated the tropical themed decor. No AC, but the gentle ocean breeze and ceiling fans were perfect. Great place and we can’t wait to return!

We love Ali'i Kai it is ideal for us as volunteers with NOAA. We have volunteered in the annual OCEAN COUNT and educated whale behavior at the LightHouse close to Princeville. In this unit we were able to see more Humpback Whale activity than our official station!!! So Great!! This property is perfect for us. Our two adult daughters spent a week with us during our stay and was comfortable for the four of us.

This condo has been beautifully remodeled. We loved the clean and modern design. It had everything our family needed for our week long stay. The best part was the views from the lanai and both bedrooms and hearing the ocean waves crash as we slept.

This home was even more than what I expected. I stayed at this property for a month and it was by far the best month ever. The location was perfect, safe and the views. Everywhere you look there was a beautiful view either mountains or ocean. You could see whales and dolphins out of any location of the house. I will definitely be returning soon. Thank you
