We loved the property and location. Was just far enough out of all the hustle and bustle but close enough to get everywhere we wanted. The kids loved the pool and the house had all the amenities needed. We grilled several nights at the pool BBQs which was a happy surprise for us.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo in Papakea. We had 6 adults (me, my husband, two “kids” aged 18 and 20, and my sister-in-law and brother in-law).
The layout was great and the location was wonderful! The view from the lanai was one of our favorite things🏝️🏊♀️🌊
The only request would be to upgrade the mattresses in the bedrooms as they were very soft.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

This is our 2nd time as family visiting Papakea and we LOVE this resort. It's the perfect location but yet not overly crowded. It's right off main highway for easy access to Lahaina, Safeway, and much more!!
This condo was perfect for the 8 of us ... one thing we did notice though was on the main description of condo it stated it was "full AC" however we noticed the AC would not be felt throughout as well as we hope for. The 2 bedrooms had to leave doors open at night for AC to be felt.
Otherwise we LOVE this resort & condo - thanks for the great stay!!

The place was great. It was stocked with all the extra stuff that is useful to use around the island. The view and access to the ocean was wonderful. The only downside was the bedrooms stayed warm during the evening even with the use of fans (we were there during the summer).

The Lanai boasted a spectacular view that left us in awe. The condo was spacious, tidy, and conveniently located close to a lot of attractions. During our snorkeling adventure near the sea wall, we were delighted to spot a multitude of fish. This place had everything for our first Hawaiian vacation. We will be back!

The condo was absolutely amazing! The location was perfect — walking distance to the beach and a grocery store across the street. The property had everything we needed — great kitchen, comfortable beds, beach towels and chairs, washer and dryer, air conditioning, and best of all … a beautiful ocean view! We swam in the pool every afternoon and used the poolside grills for a delicious salmon dinner. The grounds at the Papakea Resort are immaculately kept, and we felt very safe and secure during our stay. Our family enjoyed every minute of our vacation, and we hope to return sometime in the future! Amy and Joe, thank you for letting us experience the Aloha Spirit. Mahalo! 😃

This condo had everything we could need and more! The room configuration was perfect as I had my mother and father, my adult son his wife and baby and my two teens. The location was perfect and the view was amazing! Every morning started with a cup of coffee out on the lanai looking out to the ocean, and every evening keeping the windows open listening to the sounds of the ocean. Amy, the owner, checked in to make sure everything was okay with the property which I thought was such a thoughtful thing to do. Our family can’t always be together as my son and his family live in a different state so being together in paradise made for extra special memories!

Our youngest of 3 kids graduated this year. We said several years ago that when they all graduated we would take them to Maui. My sister and her husband joined us. We had a family of 7 stay at the condo, and it was excellent. The unit is very well appointed and lots of extras to use for the beach / pool. The view was great and the location is perfect for that side of the island; right in the middle of everything. Grocery store and food truck park are basically right outside the entrance, so meal times were easy. Would definitely return.

This is a super ocean side resort! Close to all things on the Northwest coast. The condo is well furnished with all the appliances large and small to settle in as your home for the vacation. It's super hard to find beds for our family of 6, let alone with a view of the ocean. The condo was PERFECT for us, our three girls slept in the loft, our son in the guest bedroom, and us in the master. We loved the resort as it had a very family friendly feel. The only thing we couldn't figure out was how to get the master bedroom cooler, but I'm sure some of that is unavoidable for mid July. We would gladly stay here again in the future if we are able to come back. Thanks Joe and Amy!

Thank you, Amy + Joe, for opening up your Maui Condo to our family. It was just the right location and space needed for my husband and our 4 adult sons. We love the three sleeping spaces which included a King Room with an ensuite, a Queen Room and a loft with two twins and a full size bed! We also love the beautiful balcony with a view and the location. Having an in-room washer and dryer was also an amazing bonus. And, who doesn't like to whip up some bagels and cream cheese while looking at the view of the ocean. We did also like the amenities on site including the shuffle board, mini golf putting green and the two pools with jacuzzis. I even jumped in to the Papkea's Yoga class one morning. Perfect Stay!

The condo was gorgeous and what a beautiful view from the balcony. It had everything you needed for a wonderful vacation. Lots of kitchen dishes, pans, silverware and glasses. The size was excellent for the six adults. The guys liked the mini golf and girls the pool and hot tub. We saw several sunsets from the property. The location was excellent as we did activities out of Lahaina and Whalers Village. We would recommend this property to others.

Joe and Amy have a beautiful place, and it’s stocked with so many convenient things! They had a pack n play and high chair for the baby, spices, chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, fully stocked kitchen- all you could need. We had family staying at another two bedroom in a different building on the property and ours was by far the nicest. Our teenagers loved having the three beds in the loft for their own space. My mother and elderly father who’s in a mobility scooter were able to move around great- they stayed in the master bedroom and my husband baby and I were in the second bedroom. Amy was also readily available if we needed anything. The location is close to food trucks, stores, and the fish market. Super central. I’ve been coming to Maui for over twenty years but always staying on lower Kaanapali so it was really fun to be in an area with more “to do”. Check out Java Jazz and Nachos Grande for music and drinks all across the street. Also Slappy Cakes for breakfast was a hit with the kids. Great stay! Thank you!

The condo was as it appeared online. Our family of five had Enough space for my 2 young adult sons upstairs and my young adult daughter in the second bedroom. Really appreciated the beach amenities such as beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella and especially small and large coolers! A key feature was the washer and dryer that allowed us during our nine day stay to do a couple loads of laundry and keep beach towels fresh. Previous generous guests have left spices and even a bit of leftover coffee for the first morning… We paid it forward as well…

Location is amazing and the resort is beautiful. The apartment was perfectly setup for our family of 5. Two great private bedrooms and a loft space for the younger kids. One slight gripe was check in as the front desk didn't have our reservation but that was quickly sorted. Overall we would definitely recommend and stay again if we got the chance.

The owners were very responsive and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Kitchen was very well stocked to prepare meals. Having a full grocery store right across the street, as well as restaurants and coffee shops was awesome. We had five people in our party and there were enough beach chairs provided for all of us. Lots of extra conveniences like beach bags, cooler and a library of books just made everything perfect.

We HIGHLY recommend you stay at Papakea for your Hawaiian getaway. The grounds are beautiful, quiet, and serene. You have the ocean to the northwest and the mountains to the east. The grounds and pool area were maintenenced daily. We saw many whales from our Lanai. We even saw a monkseal! This is the perfect location for all of the beaches and Northern activities!
The condo was beautifully updated, clean, and spacious! Perfect for our family of 5.

We had an amazing time in Maui and at The Papakea! The condo had everything that we needed to make it feel like home. The views from the lanai were breathtaking! It was very clean when we arrived. We were extra pleased that there were so many extra beach towels and enough beach chairs for all of us. We liked this location since it was right near the Times Market, ABC Store and the beach walk was very close. This was our 5th time to Maui and will definitely come back and stay in Amy’s place again!

My family and I really enjoyed this condo especially the breathtaking ocean view from the balcony! The master bedroom was very spacious and have huge windows overlooking the pool and ocean. The kitchen at all the basic necessities and the pantry was also stocked with coffee and seasonings. There were plenty of towels throughout the unit including a basket of beach towels. There was also snorkeling gear available for us to use which was awesome. Overall my family and I built some amazing memories here and hope to one day come back you will not be disappointed!

Went to Hawaii with 7 other family members and the condo was just what we needed. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and it's just a few minutes walk to the beach. The condo has everything from a washer and dryer to all the plates/pots/pans you need. There were also extras like sand bucket toys for the kids, boogie boards and beach chairs.
There was an issue with the sink and ac, but as soon as I contacted Joe & Amy, they responded right away and it was fixed the next day. Would definitely recommend this condo for a large group of family or friends. Can't wait to go back to Maui and stay here again.

We traveled to Maui to celebrate our "35th" wedding anniversary with our adult children. It was scheduled for 2020 but was put on hold because of Covid. It was wonderful working with Amy & Joe when we had to cancel and move it into 2021, they were so helpful in getting a new date on the books. The condo is in a great location, away from all of the crowds, so very quiet and peaceful. It gave us plenty of room to spread out (6 adults), and the views from the lanai were amazing!! We will definitely be back!!

This property is amazing! We loved the spectacular ocean view, the putting greens, the shuffleboard, and the pool and hot tub! The location is great! Food trucks are within walking distance along with a grocery store and shaved ice! :) The condo was perfect for our family of 5! Our grown children each had their own space, and we never felt like we were on top of each other! The condo is beautiful, and we appreciated the use of beach chairs, umbrella, and boogie boards! Great location on west side. Rooms were nice, clean and plenty of room for 6 adults. Beach towels and chairs provided and were great to take with us. Boogie boards not in great shape but we rented some from snorkel store. Plenty of places to eat in waljable range Fish market was a favorite. Condo had everything we needed and property kept clean too. Bbqs were cleaned throughout day and were great. Really a wonderful trip. Lanai was perfect in mornings for some quiet coffee time. We so enjoyed our stay at Papakea Resort! Everything is right there. The condo is comfortable and quiet. The pools are relaxing and the grassy area is serene. We did day trips from the resort every day and spent most nights cooking and swimming at the resort. It had everything we needed for cooking and the grocery store is right across the road within walking distance. There are many nice places to eat also within walking distance. The sunrise was amazing every morning and one morning we saw a rainbow over the mountains behind us, all from the balcony of the condo. The 4th floor has spectacular views! Thanks for a wonderful place to vacation on Maui!

This condo was perfect for our vacation. It is in a great location and a perfect size. My husband and I traveled with my 4 year old, 17 month old and my mother. We were all comfortable and her plenty of space. The condo is well stocked with pool toys, beach toys, and coolers. I can see us coming back to this condo again.

Family and I really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was perfect for the price and what we were looking for compared to a hotel. We were traveling with a large family(my family, sisters family & decided to bring along our mom & sisters mom-n-law (4 adults & 3 kids 10,8,2). We were nervous about booking a private home vs a hotel since you hear horror stories. This condo was a great choice. It was comfy, clean and had all necessities needed to wash, cook, bake or BBQ. With the young kids, a pool was also a must. My favorite was the view. It was beathtaking to wake up and enjoy the view of ocean while drinking our coffee in the morning on the Lanai/balcony. We also had the view to the pool. I was very impressed how well maintained the premises are kept. I enjoyed all the beautiful flowers & tropical plants around. This is what adds to the "your on vacation" feeling. We also enjoyed the breathtaking sunsets on the lawn. The LOCATION is perfect. We drove next door to Kannapali Beach and thanks to the ammenities from condo (beach towels, boogie boards, ice chest etc...) we had a picnic and went snorkeling. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Condo is close to it all, shopping, beaches, grocery store, restaurants, Snorkel Bob's to rent gear. Will definitely be staying again in the future. We all had a wonderful lifetime of memories. Owners were so nice and checked up on us. Thank you!!

We were very happy with our stay at this condo! It is very tastefully decorated! I loved that it was on the 4th floor with high ceilings! The bed in the master is very comfortable. The kitchen is very equipped. Amy is a pleasure to deal with. Wish we could have stayed longer at the unit!

We were a group of 6 adults, 1 teenager and a 2 year old traveling from Phoenix Arizona. The unbearable temperature in Phoenix when we left was 114. When we entered the condo and saw the beautiful views of the ocean- I truly felt like we landed in a piece of Heaven!! I think I just sat outside and stared at the ocean for hours! It was such a wonderful treat to be able to have coffe in the morning a a glass of wine in the evening while gazing out over the ocean. There was plenty of room for us all to sleep comfortably, and the living room kitchen area gave us room to spend time together to eating , laughing and just spending time together.. The condo was clean and well stocked which was very much appreciated!! There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans to make everything from a pasta dinner- to bacon eggs and pancakes for breakfast- and of course everything we needed to grill! On the days we were headed to the beach, everything we needed again was there.. Boogie boards, beach towels , sunscreen, even sand toys for the littlest one in our group. We were close to a grocery store to shopping, and of course close to beaches. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. We look forward to returning hopefully during whale watching season!

This is our first VBRO maintained as a Resort so a bit different from our prior rentals. Place was nice, disappointed with no beach right at the property - had to drive to get there. AC was not turned on prior to our arrival so Super hot when we got there. Property very nice and staff nice. Easy access to grocery stores. Since we had a big group the additional loft beds were handy but had to use all the fans provided to stay cool. Only one small through the wall AC in the living room for the whole location. Nice kitchen, loved the BBQ at the poolside.

We had a great time at this unit. It is very well kept and clean. The view and the whole complex are beautiful. The heated pool was awesome! The beds were comfortable! The bathrooms were cleaned (very important)! We enjoyed our time here at this beautiful oceanfront condo.
One major complaint is the AC air unit. It is just not big enough to supply air for the entire 3-bedroom unit (it stop working well on the 5th day). We stayed in the guess bedroom and it was hot but not as hot as the master bedroom. We shut all the blinds during daytime to keep the sun out but it was still hot. The service man came to change the air filter but it did not seem to make a difference. We were quite uncomfortable the last several days.

We (family of four adults, two children (12, 14)) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very nice, well equipped unit with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The views of the ocean and gardens are excellent and the orientation (NW) provides shade in the afternoon which is a plus. We did a lot of cooking and found everything needed to do so. Unit has many beach supplies (chairs, boggie boards, coolers, etc.) and the owner is very responsive to any queries/need. We have stayed at Papakea many times over the years and this is the nicest 3 bedroom that we've rented---it could easily accommodate 6 adults and two children or other combinations there-of. One can walk to shopping including a major grocery store (Times), a Farmer's market, Snorkel Bob's, ABC, and other shopping. Beach access to the south and lots of board walk or sidewalks to run on. Overall, excellent value and owners were delightful to deal with. We would definitely rent this unit again when we need a 3-bedroom. Papakea as a resort is first-class, impeccably kept with very friendly desk staff. The buildings have undergone major exterior renovation (now complete). It also offers many amenities if one wants to use them---this can be particularly attractive for younger families.

This condo is fully equipped with everything you could need. The views are fabulous from the lanai and even the kitchen due to the reflection from the mirrored wall of the living room. The gardens, BBQ area and pool are well looked after by the staff. The special events planned for the guests were so much fun from the putting tournament, lei making and happy hour on Thursdays with live entertainment! The location to shopping and walking the boardwalk and just a short drive to so many amazing beaches makes this location so convenient. This was our second time staying here and look forward to our next!
