This was a perfect condo for a stay in Maui. Bed is comfortable. Kitchen is very well stocked with all possible pots/pans/dishes you may need to use. Very tastefully updated and decorated. We look forward to returning just as soon as we can!

The location of the room is great. Great Views, the Owner does not provide toilet paper so be prepared to either buy or bring your own. The pillows are old and the Bed is a Murphy bed which is just ok. Just a mattress. Towels are just ok. The Whaler is a great place and a great location. We have stayed at the Whaler 4 times in different rooms.

We have stayed at the Whaler many times and love the location and the precision of the reservation. This was the first time we stayed in a studio and we weren't sure whether it would feel roomy enough. It was spectacular! Well appointed. Splendid view. Exceptionally well maintained. Gail's unit has a great view and the kitchen was wonderful for cooking and ready to go. It offered plenty of utensils, some spices and oil, and pots and pans. Oven was really good. Coffee machine was great. Very comfortable for sitting and chatting and serving food. All extras were there: paper towels, utensils, plates, glasses, ice, towels and beach chairs. Everything was all there. Very clean and comfy. I five-star recommend...

Can’t say enough good things about our stay. Comfortable, super clean & very complete, this unit is beautifully appointed. Everything was thought through. Extra TP, paper towels, sponges, even sandwich bags to take your lunch down to tha pool or the beach. Little things meant a lot, like a drying rack for our bathing suits & the small ice packs in the freezer . We didn’t use them, but there were even birthday candles if you should need them. Loved the green glass backsplash &!tiles in the kitchen & in the shower. All of this in a perfect location. We hope to come again next year. Such a thoughtful host! (One tiny thing: wish there was a reading light near the bed)

The Whaler is wonderful and accurately described in the thousands of positive online reviews. What we loved about this unit was all the thoughtful touches such as concealed lanai clothes drying rack, dimmer light switches throughout, beach chairs, cooler bag, ice maker, cooler ice packs, extension cord, and more. Not once did we think “I wish they provided one of those.” Everything was in good working order. We will happily return!

This was our second stay at The Whalers Condos. This time it was without family so we book this studio since it was just the 2 of us. Very large for a studio and even though the very comfortable king bed was a Murphy bed there was plenty of room so we just left it down all week. Condo is beautifully updated and looks just like the photos with a gorgeous kitchen that was very well equipped with spices, garbage bags, zip lock storage bags, coffee filters etc. And bathroom had hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner! The lanai had great views of the ocean, Black Rock and the golf course and mountains. Nice surprise to have 2 new Tommy Bahama beach chairs that recline and have pockets for drinks and phones; it makes the beach so much more enjoyable! Husband walked to the Kaanapoli golf course several times while I enjoyed either walking to Whaler Village to shop or just walked the beach and enjoyed the pool. Wonderful vacation!

Contrary to the description, this unit is tired. The view is excellent. The Murphy Bed did not function properly. The water pressure is kitchen sink was not up to standards. . The Whaler maintenance fixed these issues. There was not a functioning refrigerator. We were not notified of this ahead of time and while the owners were working to get it repaired, there was no guarantee when that would be done. The owners had put in a temporary fridge that was not able to hold a carton of milk standing up. We had good communication with the host and were able to move out of the unit and get a refund, The Whaler was extremely accommodating in finding another unit at a comparable price.We have consistently stayed at The Whaler for over 20 years and never had a unit like this.

Great updated studio apartment in a perfect location. The Whaler is older but well established. Right on the beach. Had everything we needed for a mom n daughter graduation trip and to join a larger group for a wedding next door at the Westin. The convenience of a condo is always win for us - breakfasts and lunches at our leisure and at our price point! Nearby restaurants are lovely - but expensive so be prepared! Evening meals were a treat with beautiful views and sunsets. Would definitely stay here again or in a bigger unit if more than 2 of us.
The property provides beach chairs (there were 2 in the condo also), some cabana style sunbeds were also available to rent, pool towels were collected from the beach hut and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The pool area is very basic when compared to the likes of the Westin but with the sand and ocean a stones throw away, I'll take it and pocket the extra cash for vacay cocktails!
One thing to note, the condo owner prefers communicating via your personal email and the use regular home mailing address for sending out information. This wasn't made clear at the onset of booking - so caused confusion and stress on both our parts as I waited for my "check in details" to be posted on the website, which never happened. I've stayed at many places booked online through similar sites and have never had to provide my home address before. Naturally there is a security issue here - "I was on vacation while someone ransacked my home" - is a headline screaming concern sadly in this day and age.
Having learned later of how the owner prefers to communicate I would have no hesitation dealing with her this way. Gail is kind hearted and wants her guests to have a perfect stay. She has been managing this unit for 37 years! She was very generous in allowing us to stay an extra night when our vacation needed to be extended due to unforeseen circumstances. I am very grateful to her for that. It's a lovely place and I'd highly recommend it to others.... :)

We had an amazing stay in this unit at the Whaler on Kaanapali beach. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and beach, as well as the mountains. Gail’s unit was very nice and comfortable and if we were in need of anything, her property manager was just a phone call away. It was a much needed relaxing vacation! 🌴🌺🤙🏻

Stayed here when the resort my conference was held at ran out of rooms, but I’m so glad it worked out the way it did. Location was fantastic. So conveniently located next to the main shopping/dining area and bus station. Property was smaller and much calmer and laid back than some of the other resorts nearby, which was a huge plus to me. Pool area can get busy, but that’s to be expected. Staff were so friendly. Gorgeous views of the beach from my unit. Unit was charming, clean, and had everything I needed. Easy communication with the unit owner. I would stay here again.

We always enjoy the Whaler and this was our first experience with a studio layout. We had a bit of a time with the Murphy style bed (sharp corners in the dark) and no bedside lighting for reading. Also could not see the TV from the bed. But very comfortable sleep. Bathroom is tight. Great view of black tock and Molokai and the right side of the Whaler to avoid the afternoon sun. Probably look for a different furniture configuration next time.

Thank you Gail for accepting us to stay in your fabulous condo over the holidays in 2021. This well-taken care, fully-stocked Studio Unit has an amazing view of the ocean, Black Rock, and the Maui mountainside. Gail is the BEST! She is kind, sweet, and really cares about Maui, The Whaler Staff, AND her clients. This was the first time that I have stayed in a Studio at the Whaler. There is lots of room, lots of amenities, and Gail does everything to make her clients feel very welcome!

My air conditioner stopped working at night and in the morning

Gail has created an amazing space. The condo was the most comfortable property I have stayed at. It had everything we needed: spices, pots/pans, ziplock bags, paper towels, cable, beach chairs. It had the perfect view of the ocean and mountain. What was even better was the view of the sunset every night. The balcony also had very comfortable furniture to enjoy the view.
The dishes were super clean when we got there. I usually feel the need to clean the dishes again prior to use, but these dishes were spotless! I didn't feel the need to clean prior to using them.
I highly recommend everyone to stay at this property! Thank you Gail!

This condo is in a great location, right on the beach and within walking distance of so many restaurants as well as snorkeling. The condo is well stocked with everything that you would need. We couldn’t believe how comfortable the bed was! Gail was very responsive to anything we needed and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!!

We loved our week here - from the fantastic property, the views from the deck, the owner (Gail), the comfortable bed, and the well equipped kitchen, this place was perfect for us!! Gail was a very responsive and thoughtful owner. The location in the building offers fantastic views of the ocean, the mountains, the courtyard, and the wonderful Maui rainbows. My wife and I just spent a week in this unit and couldn't be more pleased. The owner has gone to amazing degrees to ensure virtually all vacationers needs have been considered. In short, it was a mini home away from home. The owner responded promptly to all of our emails leading up to arrival. Once there a number was supplied in the event of any further needs. The bedding and furniture were extremely comfortable. The view from the seventh floor lanai is remarkable. To the west is a vast view of Black Rock, Molokai and the Pacific. To the east is a very nice view of the mountains. I highly recommend this unit and it's owner.

Very nice condo. Clean, spacious, and a modern kitchen with all the amenities. We stayed 7 nights and it never felt cramped at all. We had plenty of room for the 2 of us. I was worried about the Murphy bed, but it was very comfortable and we both slept well every night! The view from the balcony is perfect and sitting outside every morning with coffee was wonderful. Everything we could need was provided in the room. We recommend this condo if you’re looking for a nice relaxing trip to Maui.

We love Maui and have been coming for years with our 3 daughters! Now that they are grown, married with with families of their own, Gail’s Studio Condo was just perfect for the two of us! We both ohhh’d and ahhhh’d when we walked in as the condo is very spacious and beautiful! Just perfect for the two of us! The Murphy bed was easy to pull down at night and put up in the morning. It was also very very comfortable! We also loved that the condo is stocked with spices and other daily essential supplies like baggies and tin foil! And the location is amazing as it’s close to the elevator and it has a spectacular Ocean View! We also loved the welcome basket that arrived our second day as it made us feel very special! It had all my favorite Maui goodies such as Maui macadamia chocolates, Hawaiian potato chips and the best pineapple I’ve ever had! We highly recommend this unit and look forward to staying here the next time we are in Maui!

My husband and I recently stayed in Gail’s beautiful condo unit for our honeymoon. We had absolutely the most lovely time, and even though we were out and about most days, it was well worth it and a nice feeling coming back to this relaxing unit. We had a good view of both the mountains and the ocean, and enjoyed the scenery every morning with some fresh coffee brewed in Gail’s well maintained kitchen. The Whaler is really close to everything we needed for our vacation and Gail keeps her unit well stocked with a lot of supplies we didn’t have to buy ourselves. We particularly liked the grilling tools and used the barbecues multiple nights there. The Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable, this was a SUPER nice addition to the room. Our very favorite part of staying in this unit was Gail’s wonderful hospitality. She had a little gift waiting for us upon our arrival to help us celebrate our honeymoon and we were very touched by her thoughtfulness. We both highly recommend staying here and will definitely want to stay here if we return to Maui in the future!

Our stay in this unit was perfect. From the start, the owner was very accommodating and helpful. She has all the details worked out for her guests so we had a smooth check in, stay and departure. The unit was very clean, kitchen and bath are remodeled and it has all the necessities. The location is perfect for views, shopping and trips into Lahaina. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed the owner's gift, an unexpected surprise, while watching the sunset. We will be back!!

This is our 3rd time to the Whaler and definitely our favorite condo. When you looked for anything in the well appointed kitchen......you found several of anything you needed. Murphy bed is great.....super comfy...plus leaving a lot of extra room when it is up during the day. Views from the condo are spectacular.....location is great and what could be better than grilling out while watching the sunset over the Pacific!!! We keep saying we do not need any more sunset pix...but cannot help ourselves while watching beautiful sunsets every day. We are looking forward to our next visit to Gail's condo!

From our very first interaction with the property owner we were treated with such sincere warmth it made us feel like treasured friends rather than business clients. This set the tone for our holiday. When we arrived at the condo it was so inviting; it was clean, the bed was comfy and it felt like home
with a Hawaiian twist!
The location was perfect. Less than a kilometer away we rented snorkeling
equipment (for the duration of the stay) as Black Rock, a popular snorkeling
spot, was just a short walk from The Whaler. We were out there first thing in
the morning before it got to busy most days. The boardwalk runs right in front
of the facility and was a lovely place to walk in either direction to watch the
sun set in the evening. With The Whaler Village (shopping and restaurants - Hula Grill was our favourite) right next door there were many days we did not
use our rental car, but still had full exciting days.
Kaanipali Beach is a great central spot on the island for doing excursions from
as well . Road access to and parking at The Whaler was really easy. We did
several trips in both directions - highlights included The Blowhole at mile 38.5,
hiking in the crater, the road to Hana - check out the bamboo trail on the way
up - snorkeling at Honolua Bay and Napili. (Note: Black Rock - the local spot within walking distance was the only place we saw turtles every time we went out!) We did the Luau at the Hyatt (arranged that with the concierge who was very helpful) which was also worth seeing and the icing on the cake for my husband was the surf lessons at the Marriott - and yes, at age 59, his first time ever surfing, he did get up!
Coming home each night to this lovely condo that is so well cared for and exudes charm was perfect - we highly recommend this as a home away from home for this very fun destination!

It was our first time in Maui without kids. My wife and I decided to get a studio at the Whaler. After reading all the reviews we decided on Gail's condo. It was spectacular! The condo had all the amenities of home as well as well stocked and very clean! The murphy bed was so comfortable we had a hard time getting out of it when the sun was rising and the waves crashed. Bathroom was well positioned with double sinks and plenty of storage for clothes. The view was outstanding for watching sunsets and all the daily activities. Gail was easy to

I travel at least once a year to Hawaii to recharge from a very busy life and high octane job. The Whaler and Unit 762 provides the perfect retreat. The condo is perfectly positioned for restaurants and shops, views and tradewinds from the lanai, the beachside walking path, and access to beach and sailing activities, lacking absolutely nothing in amenities and ensuring that one's vacation is "easy" and stress free. Another bonus is the accommodating and gracious owner who is immediately responsive to all inquiries and requests. Innumerable activities are available (great concierge service, too!) but the two that were the highlight of this trip was an excursion to Molakai (countless whales sited the entire day) and a concert at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului. So, do yourself a favor and visit Maui and Whaler's Unit 762 and enjoy all that the Islands and this condo have to offer.

My wife and I have stayed at the Whaler for many years. While we have stayed in a few different units, this unit is by far the best of all worlds. The location is right on the beach. The view is both of the ocean and the West Maui mountains. There is literally nothing to buy but groceries as this unit is stocked top to bottom with everything needed for a picture perfect vacation. The recent remodel includes a sub zero refrigerator, granite counter tops. The back splash theme continues into the updated and gorgeous bathroom shower. Beautiful stainless appliances, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a murphy bed that is more comfortable than most regular beds I have ever slept on. The building has been constantly updated with new pool deck, exterior flower boxes, lanai tiling. Under ground garage was painted, updated, new koi pond and landscaping. New grilling area and grills for al outdoor needs. Tennis courts are refurbished. Just "Wow"!! The unit and the property are like brand new and heavenly! The owner is such a dream to work with. Highly recommended for all. Will be back very soon.

We can't wait to stay here again. The condo has high end cabinetry and appliances and the space is well designed. Our favorite is the lanai with its stunning views of the Maui mountains, the gardens and koi pond, pool and the amazing beach and Black rock. The lanai faces north so it was always comfortable any time of day. With the sound of the waves we slept great.
We have checked out other properties, but the Whaler's location is perfect. So many restaurants close by with great food and atmosphere. The walking path is like no other and we got lots of exercise. Amazing sunsets! Highly recommend.
