Unit was below average at best.
Pro’s: good location, (side) view of ocean, nice condo complex.
Con’s: carpet is seriously dirty, stains everywhere, musty smell - really needed replacing.
Minimum kitchen supplies (pots pans, plates - etc), one of the plates had been glued back together, drywall coming apart in bathroom, mold in shower, bed had serious crown in center so you felt like you would roll off either side. Stains on walls and mirror in bedroom.
We didn’t have a lot of choices as we booked late and it was the holidays.
We liked Kona Reef but would not stay in this unit again.

Loved the complex and amenities. Easy walk to town and beach. Pool was great as was the availability of outdoor cooking. Unit could use some maintenance and upgrading.

The check-in process was smooth, and it was easy to find parking. The location and views of the ocean are great. Short walk to downtown Kona that has many shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the pool area to relax by the ocean and watch the sunsets.

Overall we had a nice stay here. It is a bit darker than the pictures depict, and it is an older unit. That said, the bed was comfy, the kitchen was decently stocked, and the view of the beach was stunning!

Very comfortable, great location. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves. It was easy to park on site, and the walk to the shopping/dining area in the harbor was easy.

Beautiful views from this fabulous home! We were a group of 8 downhill and X-country skiers. The house is very spacious, plenty of room for our group!! Hot tub was fabulous after a long day!!

The security screen door is extremely difficult to open. I could not open it. Husband had to fight with it. Carpets need to be cleaned.

Beautiful views from this fabulous home! We were a group of 8 downhill and X-country skiers. The house is very spacious, plenty of room for our group!! Hot tub was fabulous after a long day!!

Really liked the complex and location. The condo had a nice view of the beach. Very comfortable with adequate appliances. We ended up buying a couple camp chairs and leaving them there because there was nothing to take to the beach. We met other people in the complex who were paying a bit less for VRBO rentals. I may shop a little more carefully next time. Definitely would stay there again.

I could tell from the photos that the condo is a bit dated so I had an idea of what I was getting. Still, the condo was much darker than I expected or like. But it checked a couple of other boxes - a view of the ocean and small sandy beach, centrally located on Ali'i drive near Kona town. The downside was that there was noise from the road and the kitchen was not very well equipped. Overall, the unit met my needs because I did not spend much time in it! The communication with the property managers was great.

Kitchen could have been better stocked, although I may be fairly picky as I can't imagine living without a decent salad spinner. I like sleeping to the sound of the ocean, the unit had a very comfortable sofa bed. The decking outside was being repaired so there was a lot of noise during the day. Ample parking. Lots of unhoused in the area and one in particular in the beach area below the unit who was very load and aggressive. I understand that the host has no control over this but it is worth knowing if you are concerned.

It was dated and not comfortable to sleep on and the pillows were not great. It would be nice to have a kettle as we drink tea and not coffee and boiling water in a pot it is hard to pour into a cup.
