We had a lovely stay. Well appointed condo. Unfortunately we had some very stormy weather when we first arrived. We did cook a couple of dinners there. The kitchen has everything you need (although we couldn’t figure out the exhaust fan). The deck slopes a bit but great views. This is a convenient location. There is a closet with boogie boards, snorkeling gear, everything you need for a beach trip. The stairs didn’t bother me, I liked the view. Will definitely be back!

Great location on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Close to shopping and hiking. 2 disappointing issues regarding this property: an annoying downstairs neighbor and a mildew problem in the washing machine. However, I would stay there again.

Spent the week here with my elderly
parents while I attended a conference at the Grand Hyatt(walking distance). Hosts were friendly and communicative.
This is a beautiful apartment with breathtaking views of ocean! You can watch both the sunrise and set from the deck. Pool overlooks the ocean and is well maintained. The apartment itself is also clean and well maintained. Very modern appliances and everything you need to spend the week, cooking, laundry, dining, watching movies, etc. Located in the heart of Poipu with access to a coastal running/hiking trail and short walk to Poipu beach which has nightly sea turtles and sometimes monk seals I couldn’t recommend this place more. It will be difficult to find any place that compares this in the future.

We had a great stay! Location was perfect for us. The pool is small, more for a quick dip than doing any swimming. It has nice lounger chairs around it to hang out in. Great views of the ocean! Sea turtles were out swimming in front of the pool deck almost every day we were there. The house is stocked with everything you need for cooking, sleeping, and going to the beach! No air conditioning- lots of fans and sea breeze, so we were pretty comfortable during our stay. 2 flights of stairs up/down to the property- no issue for us, only hard to bring our luggage up! Otherwise so nice to just have a code to open and close the door! We enjoyed our stay very much!

The highlight of this property was the huge lanai patio with four comfy chairs and ottomans overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous view and friendly little birds chirping every morning.

This was the perfect location for 4 adults. Beautifully decorated with a clear view of paradise. From the birds visiting us on the lanai to watching sea turtles swim in the waves to the relaxation in the seaside pool, this was a tremendous retreat in a great location. Communication with Doug & Candy was clear and helpful. Highly recommend!!!

This property was stunning. Views from the porch were gorgeous and we saw turtles every day playing in the surf. Location was ideal for the island and we could get to everything very easily. Condo itself was super clean and very well stocked. Bedrooms were comfortable and couch turned into a makeshift bed easily for our youngest. Kitchen was excellent and they had beach toys, boogie boards, reef shoes etc for our use. Would definitely recommend.

The property was exactly as described. Perfectly decorated to put you in a Hawaiian mood. The hosts were very accommodating and had some great tips for making our stay memorable. They provided everything we needed and then some. We would definitely stay here again.

The ocean views are fabulous. It is sunny and drier in Poipu compared to the northern part of the island. We were close to activities like the luau at the Sheraton. Great home base! We loved mountain tubing and Waimea Canyon. We could walk to Shipwreck beach going east; it is quite a scenic walk! We had to lug our suitcases up the stairs but we were rewarded with turquoise blue waters and a fabulous breeze. No AC in this condo, but open up the windows and the breeze kept us quite cool. The kids were thrilled to have their own bedroom and bath; great space for our family of four. The pool wasn’t ever crowded; we enjoyed it! There is an awesome Costco just 20 min away. Don’t forget to get yourself a delicious mango smoothie or mocha freeze, fresh flower leis and Hawaiian gifts/snacks to take home, even big trays of sushi rolls too! Cafe Anuenue is less than 5 min away and has delicious Hawaiian bread French toast. The beds were comfy and water pressure is good. The unit has its own washer and dryer which is essential in Kauai. The condo has an open floor plan with lots of sunlight which we loved! We even saw multiple sea turtles from the lanai! We loved listening to the ocean waves at night and drinking coffee on the lanai in the morning.

- two comfortable bedrooms each with a bathroom
- fabulous lanai overlooking the ocean
- well stocked kitchen and bathrooms

I had high expectations for this home before arriving and it was better than I could have imagined. I can't say enough about the views from the private patio! This home is truly indoor/outdoor living at it's finest. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed plus some, was modern and beautifully decorated, and in a nice location to explore many sides of the island.

Perfect for our family (2 adults and 2 kids). Everything is as pictured, super clean, high end appliances and trim. Beds were super comfy. Some street noise as windows were open for ventilation but quiets down early and easily remedied with ear plugs. Ocean breezes keep the temps very comfortable and cannot beat hearing the waves from bed! Kids loved the provided beach toys and boogie boards. Pool is small but never crowded and we often saw turtles from the deck. Poipu beach is very nearby and kid friendly as well. We saw turtles and monk seals on this beach.

We had a wonderful week staying at this property. The home was spacious enough for 4 adults and had all of the amenities we needed. The views, the pool and the proximity to beaches were second to none. We saw seals and sea turtles everyday at Brenneke’s beach! We would definitely stay here again!

Overall my wife and I had a fabulous stay in Kauai celebrating our 42nd anniversary. The unit was extremely clean with a good lay out.. We enjoyed spending time on the lanai watching the sunset and the ocean view from the pool deck was stunning. The walk / hike to Shipwreck Beach and the Hyatt was beautiful and a must do, however if you are carrying beach gear I would suggest you drive.
We had an initial concern about no ac but after reading the reviews we were comfortable that it was a non issue. The tradewinds did keep the unit comfortable, however it is worth noting that when you have all of the windows open you hear outside noises especially since the unit backs to a street. The owners, Doug and Candy were very responsive and helpful both before and during our stay especially when on arrival we had a minor issue with the keyless entry code.
One suggestion for the unit would be TV’s in the bedrooms.
Overall a great unit in a great location for a fair price.

The location of this condo was amazing for a few reasons. First, the view is unmatched. We loved watching the turtles swimming off the deck everyday, and the occasional pod of dolphins. I was hesitant to book a place without AC, as I had once prior in this general area, and we felt we needed it. But that was not a concern here at all, as you get a serious breeze through the unit. I loved having all the windows wide open. Overall, the unit met our needs for a family of 4. The owners were super responsive and a pleasure to rent from. I’d definitely rent this unit again!

The oceanfront penthouse is everything that we thought it would be based on pictures and more. It is clean, comfortable, spacious and gorgeous. Doug and Candy gave us very detailed instructions, it was very easy to find the place. Amazing views, several gorgeous beaches nearby. We could watch turtles swimming in the ocean from the balcony. It was our first trip to Hawaii and I am so grateful to our hosts to make it so enjoyable!

This place is the perfect getaway spot to check out for a few days. Sitting in the porch watching sea turtles was a favorite pass time of ours while visiting.
The location was perfect! A quick drive to almost everything on the island.
The unit was clean and had all the basic essentials. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to explore Kauai!

We loved the VRBO in Poipu! The owners were very responsive and helpful, including during our stay when I asked a couple of questions and reported we had checked out. The review were very helpful and spot on. The video and pics of the VRBO on the site, were accurate. As reported, sitting on the lanai was fantastic. Watching turtles navigate big waves and hearing the waves crash into the volcanic rock was wonderful. The winds were a dream and we seemed to be almost bug free outside. We would stay at this VRBO again after our first wonderful time there, and in Hawaii!

Excellent, clean property in a perfect location. Easy walking access to beaches in both directions. The space and layout was great with essentially two masters and two en suites. We saw whales from the deck and turtles from the shared deck down below. Could not have asked for a more wonderful place to stay.

We certainly enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the great communication from hosts. Location served us well as we did things covering the entire island. We utilized the nice kitchen daily and found everything we needed. Instructions on using the tv were not found so we struggled a bit trying to navigate the use of it. Weather was fantastic the entire week!

We stayed here for 10 days and wish we could have stayed longer. It was paradise. Driving up to the condo, we knew we were in for something special. The view from the parking lot was good so we couldn't wait to get inside. We were not disappointed. The condo was extremely clean and beautifully decorated (it's how I would decorate if I owned a place on the beach)! The breeze throughout the condo was so great as well.
Thank you so much for all the recommendations...we took you up on most of them and the rest will be for our next adventure. Oh...and the turtles...must not forget the turtles. We stayed at the Poipu Palms, Unit 3D with another couple and we all had an amazing time. Great location, hosts, and temporary home base. Thoughtful and responsive hosts, nice sized and equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great terrace, nice pool, amazing views, and what appeared to be a natural habitat for sea turtles directly in front of the pool deck.

1st of all!! Doug and Candy are AMAZING!! With Covid, this is the 3rd time we shot for a week at this beutiful property..and 3rd time was a charm!! We could not of asked for more! Best trip of our life with our son who heads to college in 2 weeks! The condo is perfectly located on the South side of the island which makes it so handy going either direction! After moving around the island, I honestly think Poipu is the best! We weren't planning on it, but ended up cooking 4 meals on the charcoal grill outside following a successful fishing day 😊. The grill ended up being quite the social area for the guests following day time excursions! The poolside overlook deck became a favorite spot as numerous sea turtles are in/out of that cove all day, and the stars are just amazing at night! This was my favorite VRBO experience, and absolutely loved this beutiful condo! Thank you Doug and Candy for welcoming us to Kauai! What a special place!

Great unit, efficient use of space & comfortable for our family of 4. Trade winds were blowing and condo stayed a very comfortable temperature. Amazing views! Loved reading on the lanai and watching the water and sky constantly changing colors… spotted turtles from the lanai and lots in coves along path to shipwreck beach. A perfect location with easy access to all of the south & west side attractions of Kauai. And there are sharp knives! For me, always a good sign of a well-stocked unit. Appreciated having boogie boards & beach chairs, too. Doug and Candy were great hosts, easy to work with. We were sad to leave!

Honestly you can not beat this property any where on the island. Fantastic location, close to everything. We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets on the lanai and LOVED turtle watching all day long. The deck and pool below was right on the water and provided a great view while using the BBQ and relaxing. The unit was very open, loved the continuous breeze that blew through the condo. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed for our two week stay…. laundry pods, kcups, shower products, cleaning products, kitchen supplies…. It was fantastic. Parking is right below the unit and had plenty of spaces. The unit was immaculately clean and can’t wait to return and stay in this unit in the again! Mahalo, Doug and Candy!!

Overall we really liked the location (walking distance to everything). Our absolute favorite thing was the WELL appointed kitchen with high-end quality appliances and cooking utensils! Also the decor and layout of the unit was well thought out - something that just makes you smile everywhere you look - very much a beach house vibe! We also love to BBQ so we had several lovely dinners on our lanai and cocktail hours on the deck below while waiting for food to cook! The pool is small, but great to cool off in and stare off into the ocean or watch the turtles below. To watch the beautiful sunsets you can just climb down to the rocks (easy climb for all ages) next door! I was worried about the no AC thing since we had just left Princeville where the sun beats down on you and we had to run the AC consistently - but that was not a problem at all, just leave the windows open (but I needed to close them at night because the street noise is a bit much and I am a late riser). We actually met Doug when we got there a bit early (instantly liked him!) and they were cleaning the place, so we took the short walk to the beach and by the time we came back, we opened the doors to a perfectly clean and stocked place to stay for 5 days!

We had a great time in Kauai. The condominium was EXACTLY as advertised. The photos on the website are even better in person. Property manager was very helpful with suggestions of where to eat, no matter where you were on the island.
We hope to come back very soon!!
