Poipu is the place to stay for a home base in Kauai. Close, safe beaches, centralized access to the island, 15 miles from the airport. This rental back patio has some of the best views of Poipu's scenery/beach/ocean, being on the 3rd floor--even better than the local hotel beach views, in my opinion. The unit is situated so it catches an unobstructed, scenic view of the sunset. For getting the high view point, the unit is on the 3rd floor so it's a trek up 2 flights of stairs, so be mindful if you have trouble going up/down stairs. Very clean and well equipped. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen. Equipped with beach chairs, cooler, boogie board. Absolutely no complaints and I would 100% come back here again.

This property has everything you would need to make your vacation spectacular. We travel A LOT and this location has to be one of the best rental homes we've visited. Furnished with everyday pantry items, beach gear, full kitchen and an
AMAZING view from the lanai to enjoy coffee in the morning and sunsets in the evening. Communication with the owner was great. I'd highly recommend this property. You won't regret a thing!

Our 16 year old son told us this was one of the best places we had ever stayed on vacation, and I agree with him. Lots of space, updated kitchen, comfortable beds, A/C, and the view! The photos don’t do this condo justice. Located on top floor of Ni Kai Villas, the view sweeps around to include the mountains and the beach. Our two teen boys walked 5 min down to Brennecke Beach every day to boogie board, provided in condo, and we also used the condo’s 4 beach chairs and umbrella almost every day. I visited the v clean pool regularly, appreciating the bit of shade the pool chairs get in the afternoon. Shopping a short drive away, ideally located. Deborah was very quick to respond and v helpful, recommended a surf lesson at Kalapaki Beach & lunch spot that turned into one of the highlights of our week. I’m only giving this place a five star review becuz VRBO doesn’t give option of 6 stars. I hope you snag it and enjoy it as much as our family did!

We had the trip of a lifetime in Kauai at Deborah’s magical villa! The pictures don’t do it justice. The location is very private yet is walkable to all the beaches, hot spots to eat, snorkeling, etc. Deborah was very responsive before and during the trip to answer questions and point is in the right direction. The space was perfect for our family of 4. Kitchen was well stocked, and washer / dryer worked great. We would come back here in a heartbeat! Thank you Deborah for being such a wonderful hostess!

We've stayed at various condos/houses in Kauai. This is one of the best and an ideal condo for families with 1-3 kids. Plenty of room and the views are excellent. Ocean and mountain views all day! The condo was clean, the beds comfy, didn't hear any noise from the neighboring units. The kitchen was well stocked, plenty of beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. Easy walking distance to Poipu beach and Brennekes. The pool on the property is great as is the entire property. Beautiful landscaping and extremely well maintained. Thoroughly impressed with the grounds maintenance crew. We only visited the pool once but, we walked by it a lot. It was never over crowded. Plenty of chairs to layout on. We highly recommend this unit and will be booking for next year very soon! Thanks Deborah!

Deb did a great job reaching out and communicating with us every step of the way. She made sure we made it in and notified us of a possible water outage during our stay. Great unit just outside the beach hustle and bustle. Spectacular ocean views from lania. Spectacaluar, lush green landscape everywhere you go. You will enjoy your morning walks along the beach. This is a gorgeous condo that is perfectly appointed and accessorized with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The view is very understated in the rental advertisement. It is 180 degrees of water and the mountains. We saw whales spouting and breeching from our deck several days. The pool is located so it overlooks the ocean. The host was very responsive and communicative. She offered ideas about what we needed to reserve and plan ahead. It allowed us to enjoy everything we wanted to do even though we were there at a peak season. We did not want to leave and will definitely return.

Fantastic view, location to beach and shops, very clean and comfortable. We walked alot, close by restaurant and beaches, which we prefer on our vacations to get out of the car. We loved Little Fish coffee shop and enjoyed the Koloa fish market for lunch, took it to the beach park, highly recommend. The pool was perfect even if there was some work being done nearby, we had a great time and would definitely come back.

Best of all condos we’ve rented in Poipu: quiet, lanai angled so sun doesn’t hit until mid afternoon (then shades are great), coffee on lanai at daybreak with the sound of the surf. Deb has anticipated every need. It has everything one could want, including a welcome bottle of wine. We’ll be back!

The condo itself is very well outfitted and the property as a whole is well maintained.
The view from the main lanai is great and pretty unique in that you can see the ocean and the highest point on Kauai all at the same time.
The kitchen and large dining table allowed us to host multiple dinners with another family that was staying at a different (and not as nice) Nihi Kai condo.
The AC and ceiling fans worked well and were very much appreciated.
Poipu Beach was easily accessible and featured turtles resting on the beach every morning we went down there. This beach also had a nice protected area for our young kids to play in the water.

Staying at this VRBO was akin to a high-end hotel with a world-class view. The condo has a spa-like atmosphere with upscale, comfortable furniture, all possible appliances, and every possible bath amenity. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans, making it a comfortable retreat in any weather. (During the heat of the day we could sit, stay cool, and enjoy a 180-degree view of the ocean) The location was perfect; near the best swimming beach and surf-shop in Poipu. Our group included four adults. In the evenings, we walked a short distance to Poipu Beach Park to watch the sea turtles or cooled off in the swimming pool. The owner thoughtfully includes beach amenities including body boards, beach chairs, beach towels and a large cooler. We arrived to a chilled bottle of white wine.... very nice! The owner was responsive to all our requests. She checked in with us after our arrival to make sure we had everything we need. I'll look for this VRBO again or one from the same owner. Thank you.

Our stay was amazing! The view was truly amazing and perfect for watching the sunsets. The home was well stocked with all the basics. Few minute walk and you are at the beach or the pool. This is our 4th time staying at this property and it will always be our destination of choice for any vacation to Kauai. It’s location is ideal for sun-loving beach goers and adventurous trailblazers looking to take advantage of all this gorgeous island has to offer. With its many amenities, spacious interior, convenient upgrades, and incomparable ocean and mountain views, it offers an idyllic retreat after a day of exploring. Nihi Kai grounds are beautifully maintained by wonderful grounds crew and we always enjoy visiting with the friendly faces we’ve grown to know over the years. Deb was very communicative and made sure we got in ok and everything was as described in the posting. Her condo is gorgeous and the views are spectacular!!! We had everything we needed for a great day at the beach or cooking meals in the kitchen (and relaxing on the lanai with a tropical drink in the evenings). The place was clean and everything was in pristine condition. The complex itself was quiet and a very easy walk to the beach or Brennecke's & Puka Dog's . Make sure you hit the beach early in the morning to catch the turtles (lots! and big!) and stay to catch the seals as they beach themselves throughout the day. I will rent from Deb again without hesitation and highly recommend #833 Nihi Kai Villas as you won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful condo. The view is phenomenal. We've stayed in several condos on Kauai and in Koloa specifically, and this one had the best view by far. It includes a VERY wide expanse of ocean, as well as the surrounding mountains. Gorgeous! The condo itself is in pristine condition. The open architecture is wonderful, with lovely high ceilings. The beds are very comfortable with high-quality linens. The hosts made us feel very welcome. We couldn't have asked for more!

What a wonderful property and owner/manager! The condo was beautiful with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. So many thoughtful details - from a waiting bottle of wine to beach towels and beach chairs and beach toys! The place is impeccably maintained. The fully appointed kitchen made cooking our own meals easy and I’ve never seen such clean gas grills. How nice to be cooking at the stove and admiring the gorgeous Poipu sunset in the evenings. The mornings were equally stunning - although we usually admired sunrise from our walks on the beach as we watched the turtles return to the ocean. This location was convenient for several day trips to the west (Waimea canyon) and east coasts. There was plenty to keep us entertained locally as well - look for the farmers and craft markets. The snorkeling was fantastic! So many fish, and even sea turtles. We also played tennis several times. The property manager/owner was super attentive, provided excellent tips and was so gracious in helping us adapt to a schedule change when the airline canceled our original flight. I wish we could give more than 5 stars. This is truly an exceptional property with an exceptional manager. Mahalo!

One of the nicest vrbos we have stayed in. Starting with the beautiful views from the lanai, living room and master bedroom. The furnishings were top notch, with an extremely comfortable mattress. Linens were soft, towels were fluffy and plentiful. We really appreciated the cleanliness, and the care that has been taken to maintain this place. We would definitely stay here again. Deb was super easy to communicate with, the view is the best, and the location is great. The only hiccup we had was check in was at 3:00, we arrived at 3:15 and the cleaning crew was just finishing up. I called Deb, she talked with them and figured out why they were still there, and then I had a great conversation with Jeff (one of the cleaning crew) on his way out. We were in no hurry so all was fine. This place is a gem.

As someone who methodically reads reviews prior to any purchase, this property did not disappoint!! I can’t say enough wonderful things. The management and owner are quick to answer questions and incredibly helpful. The property is beautiful and the view, I really don’t think it could be better! The condo had EVERYTHING we needed for a family of five. We chose to make almost all of our dinners in -with that view, who wants to leave- and the kitchen is perfectly stocked (with the exception of a chip clip but no big deal :). I was blown away by how immaculate the condo was... and I’m picky, like really picky! I’ve never stayed anywhere so spotless. We are hopeful this exact unit will be available upon our next trip to KAUAI! Mahalo!

Thank you for an incredible stay that exceeded our expectations. Deborah was amazing from start to finish with her customer service. She was in touch constantly with information on our stay and the area and checking in to see that we were happy. The condo is beautiful, better than the pictures, the view was incredible and location was perfect. Loved watching sunsets from the lanai. The pool was never busy and was a great temperature, the beaches were within easy walking distance. We had an amazing two week stay there and upon arriving were suprised with a note from the vacation rental company and some wine and goodies.

We love to travel & staying in vacation rentals is far more enjoyable than staying in hotels for us. Sadly, we are disappointed from time to time as the description & pictures of the property don’t quite match up.
But....in this case, our expectation was FAR surpassed by the reality of what this beautiful condo offered! Even before we left for our vacation, we had an inkling that we might be in for a treat at this property. The owners of the property were so responsive to our every question and in such a timely manner, we felt that should any issues arise while in their condo, they would be on top of it. Besides dealing with great owners, here are the things we loved about staying here.
* The view! Located at the highest point in the complex, sipping your coffee in the morning from your lanai as you watch the sky awaken, looking out over the water, viewing the mountains...it doesn’t get any better. And the sunsets...now sipping a glass of wine! Perfection!
* Beautifully appointed throughout with attention to every imaginable detail. From the remodeled kitchen that has every single thing you need (seriously), the 2 remodeled bathrooms (with plush white towels!!), luxurious beds with wonderful bedding, to comfortable furniture throughout...it all far exceeded our hopes.
* On the front lanai, we found beach chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards...all clean & ready to use.
* In drawers throughout the condo, we found games for adults & kids and books to read. On the desk near the dining room, every bit of information we needed about the complex & condo was organized in a binder. Throughout the condo, the lights switches & fans were labeled. No guessing & spending vacation time trying to figure things out!!!!
* The entire condo was squeaky clean!! That’s a very big deal to us (as it is for most of us). There was no junk left by others who have stayed there...we were able to arrive, unpack & begin enjoying our vacation. Often times we need to clear counters, do some cleaning before we feel we can settle in. This condo is in impeccable condition.
* The location! Fabulous! We walked to the beach, we walked to our favorite Poipu restaurant (Brennecke’s), we walked to most everywhere we enjoy going in that area. Fantastic location!
*. The complex is beautifully manicured with lush landscaping & a great pool with an ocean view. Thoroughly enjoyed our pool time!!
You will not be disappointed!! Exceeded expectations!

This vacation condo has everything that you need for an enjoyable stay. It was impeccably clean and the counter tops, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms were so nice that we would be very comfortable living here full-time. The sunset views are spectacular! If we had a condo on Kauai, we would want it to be just like this beautiful vacation home! The only reason that it does not rate as 5 stars is due to the lack of air conditioning. At this time of the year (early September) the tradewinds decreased which made the temperature in the home uncomfortable. On a very positive note however, the owner was more responsive and attentive than any persons at any high-end luxury hotels at which we've stayed! She made every effort to alleviate our concerns and you won't find a nicer person anywhere! We had a wonderful time!

The location is great, the condo is great and the beaches are awesome. The only draw back is that it does get hot inside the condo in the afternoons, however, once the sun goes down it cools off quickly. We would definitely stay again.

Owner in constant contact to be sure everything OK. property management company did great job with cleaning and service....Everything is provided in the condo, including boogie boards and beach towels...Quiet, well landscaped complex with lovely pool and tennis courts and easy walk to beach...Amazing view from this upper unit...Just two of us so we had lots of extra space...We golfed every day, and Poipu Bay Golf Course is just up the road and one of the best in Hawaii (we tried Princeville one day and wish we had just stayed at Poipu Bay)....No air conditioning but lots of fans and you need to remember to close the shades to keep the afternoon sun from heating the condo....Too many stairs to the upper unit for anyone who is not mobile....Owner is the best VRBO owner we have encountered...

Having visited Kauai over 15 times, I have had the good fortune to have stayed in Nihi Kai 833 many times. If you have read the many (all 5 star) reviews on this site you have found them all to be very positive. The best review I can give is to heartily confirm the others. The location and views are outstanding, and the condo is well appointed, furnished and maintained. The above photos and description are accurate and not the least bit misleading, as often seen. The owners, Deborah and Peter, really care about their guests experience and their on island management company is close by and attentive. For the value, what you get for what you pay, you would be hard pressed to do better.
