The condo was beautiful and was perfect for us! We loved watching turtles and dolphins across the street from the complex. It was an easy 10 minute walk to Poipu beach and we used the chairs and umbrella that were provided. Beach towels were missing when we arrived and Jeff responded immediately and we had the towels within an hour. We hope to stay in the condo again on our next trip to Kauai !

Can’t say enough good things about this property. Will definitely stay here every time. Has the personal touch of a super nice, ultra responsive host. Most well-stocked place I’ve ever stayed at. My wife and two kids (10, and 12) all loved it. A/c worked great throughout the entire unit. 5 min walk to Beach. Clean! Cozy. Quiet. We spent so much time searching for a place and we can say with confidence we will never look elsewhere. Please stay here!… unless I want to, then you gotta wait. Ha! Thanks Jeff!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful 10 days here. The property is well stocked, air conditioned and a short walk to Poipu and Brennnecke beaches. It was perfect for our family vacation. The resort it is in is also nice and has a nice pool, tennis court and BBQ that were available at no extra charge.

This vacation rental is a must! My husband is a private chef and the kitchen had everything he needed for our meals. The location is spectacular and has all of the beach equipment you could possibly need. Our family had the most wonderful time and made memories to last a lifetime.

Jeffrey's condo is a great place to stay. It is spacious, quiet, and short walk to the beach. The kitchen is the best equipped of any VRBO that I have ever stayed in. Jeffrey also provided beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and coolers of different sizes - all of which were great to have for our various trips. He also provides tennis and pickle ball racquets for use at the resort's two tennis/pickleball courts.
The home is exactly as pictured in the ad. Check-in and check-out were smooth and effortless. Jeffrey was prompt to respond to any questions and concerns, and was super accommodating. I highly recommend his place! Thank you for a great week Jeffrey!

Nice older property with 1500 sq.ft. And very comfortable for 2 couples. It has an updated kitchen with all necessary supplies. Great location and a short walk to Poipu Beach to see the turtles sleeping on the sand every evening. We also enjoyed using the pool and pickle ball courts. We would stay here again.

We loved our stay here- great for families who want to hang out at Poipu Beach- just a 5-min walk. This area is teeming with sea life; dolphins swimming just off shore, and seals and turtles coming to shore daily. And you can’t beat this spot for watching the perfect sunset.

Jeffrey’s place was just perfect for our family of four. Spacious, clean and with all the comforts from home. Couldn’t have asked for more. Nihi Kai is an amazing property right in the ocean. From first step on to the Nihi Kai well groomed grounds to every last detail of the condo we had fallen in love with the place. It is a clean nicely furnished condo. The kitchen was the most will equipped I’ve seen yet. The condo was updated beautifully. Every last need you may have has been thought of. From beach gear right down to extra face masks. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the spacious lanai listening to the birds you only hear in Hawaii. The pool area beautiful and had a nice view of the ocean. It is only a short 3-4 minute walk to the gourges beaches of Poipu. Shopping and restaurants are very close by. We will be sure to return!!😎🌴🌊

Nicely appointed, quality furnishings, linens decor and kitchenware. We were here for 4-weeks and wanted for absolutely nothing. Walked to Brennecke’s Beach every morning to collect shells, watched turtles and dolphins daily…harbor seals and spectacular sunsets. Walked to Poipu Beach each evening to see the turtles coming in for the night. Found Lawai Beach to be good snorkeling, bought a day pass at the nearby Sheraton one day and lounged poolside. Nice little shopping centers nearby: Whalers good for basic groceries and this and that. Loved every minute and wish we were still there!

I want to start by saying that the host Jeffrey was an absolute ace once he found out what had happened with our check-in. There was an issue with the previous renter and the local contact that forced us to get a hotel for the night. On a holiday, he made everything right in short order. A total save, thank you Jeffrey!
Now the good stuff... The condo is wonderfully appointed, beautiful and comfortable. There is plenty of beach gear available to make an all day outing. We appreciated the well laid out kitchen and two west-facing lanai's. The sunset colors come alive just in time for dinner every night!
The property that the condo is on has beautiful landscaping, singing birds, cute lizards darting about and chubby bullfrogs at night. Good parking availability and the pool was a fun extra. The walk down to Poipu Beach was about 10 minutes so we would just grab a towel, mask and flippers to go snorkeling multiple times a day! There is also a trail starting down at Brenneke's Beach that goes east for many miles, linking together all of the beaches and vistas. Shipwreck beach was our personal favorite and the cave tour was cool too.

Our family enjoyed our stay here. Home was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The beach is a 10 minute walk away. Pool is nice with a fantastic view but is unfortunately near sewage so can have an unpleasant smell on the end opposite from the ocean. Beach towels and chairs and coolers provided were wonderful.

Absolutely beautiful condo. Spacious and super clean. Super close to multiple beaches. We saw whales from the pool even.
Stays very cool and comfortable if that’s what you want. Nice cross breeze too though. Kitchen has everything you would need. All the items you would want for the beach are already there!
Would have been nice if there was a high chair for baby though. We were with our 8mo old.

Jeffrey’s property is well equipped, comfortable and located within walking distance of the beach and a “snack shack” and restaurant. And a short drive will take you to many shops and restaurants.
We especially enjoyed the multiple outdoor spaces where we had our morning coffee and relaxing dinners and so appreciated Jeffrey’s prompt response to our questions. Thank you for a wonderful first visit to Kauai.

Our family had a lovely Kauai vacation at this condo. It was very spacious, comfortable and stocked with high quality furnishings. The kitchen in particular was fully and very thoughtfully stocked including a full pantry. It also had all the beach necessities. As others have mentioned, unit does not have AC but we didn’t need it in January.

Jeffery Dodd(owner) was great to work with, very responsive and flexible. Kitchen supplies were great, love the knives and pans(very sharp, true non-stick). Master bed very comfortable. Spent a lot of time on the back lanai, very relaxing. Easy walk to beach on Kalapaki Joes for happy hour. A lot of landscape work was going on, some with chain saws, that was noisy. We felt at home in the condo.

This is a nice, spacious 2 bed, 2 bath unit walking distance to Poipu Beach. Beautiful gardens surrounding the buildings in the complex. A bit of a walk from the parking lot but that was not a problem for us. No air conditioning, which we knew, it was a bit warm one day but fans are provided. It would be helpful if there was some labeling of light switches/overhead fans. One remote either didn’t work or was out of batteries. We had a bit of an issue (with a TV not working) and Jeffrey spent time on the phone with us trying to work it out. We tried to use the hot tub at the pool one evening and it was not any warmer than the pool. It is a dark pool area and we could not figure out if there was a switch we were missing somewhere. We didn’t pursue figuring it out we for any other time. So nice to have beach chairs, towels and a variety of coolers to use! Overall the place was as expected from the description.

We loved our stay in this unit at Nihi Kai. Highlights include: Awesome location in walking distance to Brenecke's beach & Poipu beach. Clean & well decorated. Comfortable beds. Kitchen with big supply of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Fast wifi. Full range of cable TV.

Great location for the beach and food. The south shore is gorgeous and this unit was great! It did get hot during the day, since there is no AC, but we spent the day at the beach anyways. Loved the decor and the feel. It felt like home while we were on vacation. The unit has EVERYTHING you would need. Highly recommend!!

Overall the condo is a great value for a family of four.
The location is walking distance to Brenneck's beach and a couple of miles to the restaurants at Poipu.

The property owner is very pleasant and very responsive to your needs.
I do recommend the property for a family going on vacation on the south side.
Please note that be prepared to plan your schedule and enjoy the beach as the condo gets hot during the hours of 12noon to 7pm. This is a normal tropical summer weather. The condo does not have air conditioning. Enjoy your stay

My friends and I were so happy with this condo because of it's location, it's decor, and it's abundance of space! It was lovely to have the two bedrooms and two bathrooms amongst the three of us who stayed with nothing but lounging on the upstairs - complete with deck where we would see the sunset and moon. It was also incredible to be able to do laundry after exploring so many beaches and jungles. Jeffrey was so kind, nice, attentive, and communicative. I have never had a better host!

This extremly well maintained, meticulously clean, higher end quality condo has all the comforts of home. From the kitchen utensils, flat panel TVs, DVR, quality furniture, boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas you name it and its a good chance this condo will have it! The unit has a lanai off the living room upstairs with a table where we ate most meals, and a smaller lanai out back. Each of the two bedrooms has a small ground-level patio. Unit is walking distance to Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach. Both beaches are beautiful! Poipu beach has a lifeguard station and great snorkling and swimming. Brennecke beach is awesome for boogie boarding. We had sea turtle sightings everyday at both beaches; some as close as 3 feet from us. Very cool. The common areas and gardens of the Nihi Kai complex were clean and very well-maintained. The pool was clean and well-maintained, the water was clear. There were some shady areas around the pool to get out of the sun if desired. A variety of restaurants and shopping were nearby in Poipu and Koloa. The owner was great to work with, always very quick to respond to any questions or needs.

Our third trip to this unit was just as wonderful as the first two. In fact, it might have been slightly better, thanks to the updated bathrooms downstairs. We continued to enjoy time on the lanai, the fully stocked kitchen, the comfy bedrooms, the easy walk to both Poipu and Shipwreck beaches, and the coo of the doves in the morning. As our kids are older now, we especially appreciated the boogie boards and pool noodles in the unit. Can't wait to return in 2012.

We had a wonderful family vacation in this condo! It is so well-maintained/equipped, clean and in a perfect location. We had two little ones with us, and our location was perfect as it was close to the Poipu Beach Park and Playground that is great for kids! Even without kids, it is a wonderful spot - very close to the town villages and the great beaches but not near the major hotels, which makes it feel more peaceful and relaxed. Jeffrey, the owner, is incredibly hospitable! He answered all of our questions, made great recommendations, and even provided a pack and play for us. In the unit, you have everything you need, including a very handy Lonely Planet guidebook and another book with hike trails. We loved everything about our vacation, and this condo helped make it that way. Thank you very much!!

Returning to this Poipu condo after a 2-year absence, I felt like I was coming home.
Researching and booking the condo was a breeze, as was working with the owner to create a special visit.
We found a complete collection of creature comforts. The renewed bathrooms are a very handsome and functional renovation, and the kitchen, well-stocked with cooking and serving needs, continues to allow for the creation of wonderful snacks and meals.
The location obviously hasn't moved; but the 2-minute walk to the pool, 4-minute stroll to the beach, and new shopping and dining options nearby, plus the breathtaking beauty and fun of Kauai can't be beat.
The owner obviously cares that everything imaginable has been done to provide care and consideration for the visitor.
Take the joys of being in magical Kauai, add the delightful experience of this condo and resort property, and I guarantee that I'll return.

I love everything about this condo. Seriously. And I've recommended it to several of my friends too!
I love how airy and spacious the condo is, and how many homey touches there are. The owners have truly made this feel like a home, rather than a nondescript rental.
Being someone who enjoys cooking, I LOVE the kitchen, and how well it's stocked it with appliances and cooking tools. I also appreciate having access to the large gas grills on the property, and how many great eateries are close by for those nights I don't want to cook.
Having been to the island several times, this was more of a relaxation trip... I rarely ventured outside of a 4 mile radius of the property, and appreciated having so many close by options for shopping and dining. I loved being only a mile away from Starbucks, although this trip, I spent more time at Puka Dog getting freshly squeezed lemonade instead!

Nihi Kai had everything we needed for our family of 4's 11 day stay. The cooking utensils, knives, dishes, etc. were very high end and neatly organized. There were plenty of beach towels, body boards, ice chests, chairs, etc. so we were totally set for the beach! The unit is also thoughtfully decorated and situated in the most beautiful garden setting. There is also a t.v. in each of the downstairs bedrooms which was nice, and the beds are very comfortable. I'm picky about my pillows and the ones provided were awesome :) Before visiting the island of Kauai, I thought we would need an air conditioner - not so. The lanai opens up and there are many screened in windows to catch the tradewind breezes - we stayed plenty cool. The washer/dryer was also a plus - we used it a lot. Jeffrey (the owner) was really nice to work with and provided lots valuable information. We had a great stay - the hardest part was leaving! Can't wait to go back!

We have been coming to Poipu for 12 years, and discovered this condo three years ago. We don't want to stay anywhere else. The unit is so comfortable and well appointed, with terrific beds, ample space, loads of thoughtful touches, and the best kitchen we've seen. We're avid cooks, and the kitchen literally has everything we could want (either at home or on vacation). As a result, we've hosted mutilple family dinner, cocktail, and party parties during our time in the condo. The owners are fantastic - responsive, good humored, and open to suggestions. We're headed back for the third time in February, and cannot wait for another tremendous vacation.

This is my favorite place to stay on the island. The Poipu location is perfectly located between the east/north island attractions and those on the west side. And, it's within a few minutes walk of the excellent boogie board and swimming and snorkeling beaches.
The condo is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. All you need to bring are shorts, t-shirts, flip flops and a bathing suit; the owners have thought of everything else.
As others have noted, the kitchen is great and contains just about every gadget you could think of, including cookie sheets, cake pans and muffin tins. It even has a roasting pan if you are there for a holiday and decide to roast a turkey! There's nothing more pleasant than sitting out on the lanai on the comfortable patio furniture and having coffee and breakfast, watching the morning shower create a rainbow over the garden and mountains in the distance. You can also cook at the nearby grills (and picnic at the tables there, if you wish). If you prefer your sustenance to be of the liquid variety, there are blenders and all the bar equipment you need to mix cocktails, including martini and Margarita glasses, as well as wine goblets and champagne flutes and a beverage and wine cooler!
With a large HDTV, TiVo, a DVD player and plenty of DVDs of all varieties, a stereo CD player with an iPod dock and the Stir Crazy popcorn popper (including popcorn and instructions!), you're all set for the evenings or if it rains.
Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds. I was there just after they remodeled the bathrooms. As someone with occasional back problems, I immediately noticed that in the master suite, the counter and sink are raised a few inches, so you don't need to do so much bending. In the "kids" room, the counter is lower. Like I said, they've thought of everything!

We embarked on this 10 day vacation somewhat skeptical and without any expectation to go back.But after being on this wonderful island in such a beautiful condo, we cant wait to come back. The location was fantastic. We where litrally able to walk to 2 of the greatest beaches,snorkel all day, and then relax and watch the sunset at one of the fabulous restaurants just minutes from the condo. The condo itself was breathtaking. I loved getting up in the morning and having coffee on the deck the scenerey is spectacular.The condo is very convenient to hiking and local shopping as well as one of our favorites- kayaking. We would highly recommend this beautiful condo to anyone

We stayed for 5 nights at the end of April/May...this condo really is wonderful. Not only does it look as great as it does in pictures...the condo is well appointed near the best shopping, and in my opinion the best ice cream (try Papalani Gelato at Poipu Shopping Centre). The condo was very clean and spacious. Their was a total of 3 lanai's. The main lanai was my favorite and it was a great place to sit and read a book in the mornings, to have dinner or lunch. The view of the gardens is breathtaking, and while sitting on the lanai one day we had a gecko visit and even pose for a few pictures :)
Without a doubt, my husband loved all the technology (free wireless high speed internet, PVR etc...TV's in both the living room and bedroom. We are Canucks fans and did not even miss one game thanks to the PVR.
Our favorite place to eat near this condo was Kalaheo Cafe (for breakfast, lunch or dinner- it's only a 10-15 min ride away) and well worth it in my opinion. The food there was always local and fresh. We liked Brennecke's, although it was a bit expensive. We also tried two pizza places while there and loved Pizzetta for its thin crust pizzas (its in Koloa town- and they actually have a Papalani's Gelato right inside the door of that restaurant). We tried Brick Oven Pizza and loved their pizza too...they didnt have as fresh of toppings as Pizzetta, but their sauce on the pizza made for a really tasty pizza.
We loved driving around the island as well....we found two beach parks which became our favorites...their is one long stretch of beach right past Waimea...which is great for walking along the beach. Besides it was mostly deserted when we went there. We also loved the Haena Beach Park....so beautiful with its aqua green waters, and a great place for snorkelling too. Wailua waterfalls was gorgeous. The drive up to Waime Canyon and Kokee State Park was fun....I'd recommend going early in the morning as there were many clouds when we went in the early afternoon. There is tons of hiking trails everywhere in Kauai. 5 minutes from Nihi Kai is Brennecke beach and Poipu Beach Park ...a great place to swim and picnic.

We loved the place. Great location, great view, very nice accommodations. Loved the kitchen area. They even have a wine cooler - very nice!! The Villa has a nice pool and a great place to barbeque. The section of the Villas this particular condo is in has the best view of the ocean in balance with easy access to the parking lot.
The place was clean and well decorated. There is no A/C, however, the ceiling fans work well and there were nice breezes that kept the place cool.
Both bedrooms are on the lower level and are separated by a fairly long hallway so privacy is no problem. A nice plus is that each bedroom has it's own TV and there is a washer / dryer in the apartment.
Jeffrey was very easy to work with.
Overall, we loved it and would highly recommend it.

I have stayed in this rental twice, for a total of 16 days and have loved both experiences. The beautiful kitchen and fun decor was perfect for our vacation. The garden view was nice, as it is so green, I could sit on the lanai all day. And really, the ocean view wasn't missed when it is such a close walk.
The pool was a nice bonus on the days when we didn't feel like going too far and wanted the serenity of being near the ocean (just on the other side of the wall), without the crowds at the beach.
Full cable, Wii, DVD player and TiVo was a treat as well, along with the wireless.
The fact that the owners gave recommendations and left guidebooks in the rental, made looking around the island and doing the touristy spots less overwhelming. I plan on going back and staying here this summer.

Had a great stay at this condo last year. The condo is decorated beautifully and very well maintained as are the grounds surrounding the complex. The pool is wonderful, it was so nice to relax by the pool and listen to and/or watch the surf which is just steps away. It's also a very short walk to Poipu Beach. Can't wait to go back!
