The unit was beautiful and as advertised. The area is located a short walk to Brenakee beach and just a short drive to so many other hotspots. If your coming to Kauai for the 1st time, heed the warnings and get some food and drinks to enjoy at the resort. the grills and pavilion area make for a great spot to cook out and avoid the ridiculous cost of eating out all the time. The grouns are beautiful and are kept up nicely by Tim and his crew who really made our stay more welcoming. The unit was supplied by everything you woild need and then some. The owner, Steven was very helpful and easy to contact and was very prompt getting back to us almost immediately. The only suggestion we would have is to have a shade to have an option to cover the sliders in the living room area. We got married on shipwreck beach while we were there on 11-11-23 and cant even begin to explain what an amazing experience this trip was. Kauai is the most beautiful island we have ever been on.

This modern condo was spacious and comfortable for the four adults in our party. The interior is decorated with iconic views of Kauai, and the air conditioning and ceiling fans kept us cool. It has all the amenities of home. The grounds are beautiful and the pool steps away (no noise from the pool). The Poipu area has many great restaurants and shops, and it was central to everything on the island. The owner was very prompt answering questions. Highly recommend staying here.

The apartment is perfect for a family vacation. The bedrooms downstairs allowed the adults to hangout after the kids went to bed, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals. We also enjoyed using the beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, and sand toys everyday - it made going to Poipu Beach easy and fun. Speaking of beaches, Poipu is great for small children with a little protected cove area and sea turtles swimming all around. We would definitely stay here again!

The condo was just as pictured and was extremely well stocked with everything you could think of. We really enjoyed having the bedrooms downstairs. We could keep them cool for sleeping and have the upstairs air conditioner off and enjoy the fresh ocean air. The pool was never crowded and a nice afternoon break. The complex was quiet and well maintained. The location was perfect for us. We spent many days hiking on the island and were also able to enjoy beach days by the condo. Poipu beach is about a 5 minute walk and Shipwreck beach is about a 20 min walk through a nice greenbelt. We hope to return someday!

A beautiful and very clean place with a modern and fully equipped kitchen. The decor of the condo is wonderful and captures the aloha spirit of Kauai. The rental is steps away from Brennecke’s and Poipu beaches. My family and I will always remember our time spent at Nihi Kai!

House was very well furnished and steps to the beaches. Master bathroom shower was amazing, as were the views from the balcony. The kitchen had everything you could ask for to cook meals. And the host was super easy to work with, plus the self check in process was a breeze. Thanks also for the beach chairs, beach towels, and toys for kids!

This is a nice unit in a good location close to Poipu beach. Easy to walk to beach and restaurants. Adequately stocked and comfortable beds. On the negative side, sliding glass doors and screens are in poor condition and are very hard to open, close and lock. Screens would not stay in the tracks.
Also be aware of ongoing construction right in front of the unit with chain link fencing and heavy equipment right in front of the balcony. This significantly detracted from the enjoyment of the ocean view and grounds. I was told fencing would be gone well before the date of my visit but that was not the case and it doesn’t look like the work is anywhere close to completion. If views are an important factor in choice of a condo I would not recommend this one until work has been completed, otherwise you will be disappointed.

The inside of the condo is just as pictured--very lovely. Comfy beds, great location, very nice pool, and great communication with owner. He is so very kind. Please do ask the owner about the construction site right outside the back lanai which is in between the condo and view of the ocean. It did interfere a bit with our stay. Again, the location on the South Shore is great! We had a wonderful time in Kauai!

This was a terrific place. Proximity to beach and sunsets were ideal, just a two minute stroll. The condo was fully outfitted and having air conditioning was key in the bedrooms. Games on the patio overlooking the ocean and swimming pool for later in the day we’re wonderful. Great for family with two adult kids.

Beautiful condo with everything we needed. Kitchen well stocked. We appreciated having laundry and dishwashing detergent available. Backpack beach-chairs and umbrella are so nice. Must be ok with stairs. Bedrooms downstairs are quiet and the king bed and pillows are so comfortable. We didn’t use the twin beds. AC worked well. Nice area for walks and short walk to the beach. We saw sea turtles and monk seals on the beach each day. The only downside was the area the lanai looks over is currently undergoing some type of plumbing construction. This really impacted the view.

Steven was a great host. They had just finished a renovation, and the condo is very well appointed with all new appliances, tastefully redone, and a nice space to be in with a proper Hawaii vibe. The upper deck has ocean views and the lower lanai opens to the lawn area with direct access to the pool. Brennecke's Beach is a short 2 blocks away, where we spent most of our time in the water... best bodysurfing waves in the area. Keiki and Poipu beach (kids swimming and snorkeling, then surfing farther down) and the hotels (for outdoor lunch with ocean views) are just on the other side of grassy Poipu Beach Park. A great spot. We will be back.

The property was clean and functional. The only issues were the lack of a hotel-type safe to store valuables and the beds in the second bedroom were child size. Other than that, the unit was well equipped and in a convenient location. We would stay there again.

As some reviewers have mentioned, the property is even better than the photos. Everything was clean and had everything we needed for our trip. Walking distance to beaches and restaurants. Easy parking right next to the building. Check-in and check-out process was flawless. Even though we visited during the summer, the temperature inside was not bad at all. We didn't have to run the A/C the entire time, but when we did it cooled off the rooms quickly. Would absolutely stay here again!

While we had a great week and would absolutely recommend the condo, there is an occasional sewage smell while sitting on the lanai. We were always on the go so it didn't affect us much. Overall highly recommend!

My family and I truly LOVED this beautifully decorated condo located in Poipu. Sitting on the balcony was so relaxing! Who doesn’t like ocean views? My husband and I also played tennis (we hadn’t touched racquets in 22 years) and enjoyed the ocean view pool. Stephen was very communicative and promptly answered any questions I had. The condo was stocked. We plan to come again!

The location was nice and the view was good. The condo could use some upgrades. (Second Bathroom, beds). Unfortunately, this condo is very close to the poolside restrooms… which resulted in occasional smelly conditions at the pool and on the lanai. Our condo owner was great to communicate with and is taking our concerns to heart. If you don’t plan to relax at the condo all day, this one is great for location.

This is a wonderful unit and I must compliment Steve, the owner, on being so responsive! We had some questions on check in and during our stay, and he responded back immediately. That was really terrific and much appreciated.
This place is clean clean clean and so well stocked, and beautifully furnished. It is very tastefully decorated in the typical Hawaiian style.
The layout of the unit is nice with the bedrooms and the bathrooms downstairs and living upstairs. There is no bathroom upstairs if that matters to anyone. Brand new flooring except for on the stairs. That was wonderful because it never makes sense to me to have carpet in a place where you might have sand on your feet! Yuck.
We used the pool and that was nice. One nice thing is that the beach is about a five minute walk away, and all the kids staying at the complex seemed to be at the beach boogie boarding so the adults had the pool to themselves. There is no hot tub. We usually stay at a different place that doesn’t have a pool, and mom really wanted a pool, so we tried out this place.
Parking on the street is very easy, it is easy to bring your groceries and belongings into the unit. Very well situated in the complex next to the side street. You could take your bags in and out into the lower level of the unit without climbing the stairs at the front door (which was no big deal either!).
It is really nice being so close to the Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’s restaurant. We took a lot of really nice walks.
There were three sea turtles on the sand that were very well protected by the lifeguards. They were roped off and no one was bothering them. Beautiful! They had their own little orange cones around them that said “green sea turtles resting“! You could also see them in the surf/ocean but in other spots on the island we have stayed they are a lot more plentiful.
The view of the ocean is just beautiful from the balcony. To see the sunset everyone walks down the street and sits on the lava wall and watches the sunset.
The only negative is that there are a lot of powerlines that mar the ocean view but we do need electricity, ha. It’s tough to complain - we are in paradise here.
Very good washer and dryer downstairs in the unit. Good coffee maker. Lots of good supplies, spices, equipment for going to the beach, etc.
We will definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Steve!!

The unit was very nice, clean and just as advertised. Pretty tropical decor. Nice view from the front lanai of the water. It would be nice if there was a table on the lanai to set drinks and one more comfortable chair (there was only one chair). But it does have a high top table with 4 bar chairs.
Walkable to beach and restaurants. We would definitely recommend staying there. The only downsides are the vacuuflush toilets are very loud and could hear it in the other bedroom so would recommend new toilets and the fan in the living room is loud. We only used air conditioning once for a short time as the afternoon sun was warm so it is nice to have that option. Stephen was very easy to communicate with. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It's something wonderful, waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of crashing surf and tropical birds (plus chickens). Staying here was definitely the right call.
This home is well kept and has all the amenities to make you feel like you are at home. You may need to stop at the Koloa town market for a couple basics, but the spice cabinet is fairly well stocked.
This was a wonderful place for our family.

For us, one of the bedroom AC stopped working , but the fans in all rooms helped. The owner provided us info on activities and places to eat which was really helpful. We lucked out choosing Poipu and Stephen's apartment for the majority of our stay in Poipu. While there was rain and some flooding everywhere, Poipu was the best location for some sun and really nice beaches/food/food market nearby. The condo is about 50 steps from the water, and a handful more from the beach. A really nice layout separates living from bedrooms (different floors) and the lanai has a postcard-perfect view and layout. Stephen's recommendations were on-point (read carefully, there are some gems in there). Overall we loved our stay in this condo and would love to be back soon!

My family of four spent over three weeks at Steven’s condo. It’s ideal in so many ways. It has a large table and open living room space, with updated flooring and a nice TV. The upstairs lanai has a lovely ocean view, especially of sunsets. Downstairs there are two bedrooms (king & 2 twins) with en suite bathrooms. The condo is in a villa with lovely gardens, steps from the pool and gorgeous parks and beaches, as well as a green belt for walks. Steven was super responsive and helpful during our stay. Highly recommend!

You will not be disappointed! This place is exactly what the pictures say and even more! It does get hot but there is a nice breeze running through. We rented baby gear and they were all ready and set by the time we arrived. Steven was nice to let us know when the place was ready so that we didn’t have to wait until the 4pm check-in time which was very helpful with a 15 month old. We will definitely be returning to the island again and staying here is on our list for sure. Enjoy!

Condo owner/host was truthful when he said what the place actually was....OCEAN VIEW and less than a block to ocean..very nice indeed for us with an 8 month old infant and his brothers of 11 and 9 years old who were eager to get in the water several times a day. We were in Poipu before and this is our best condo to stay to date...it also had a pool...gas grill, tennis courts and a very well maintained grounds for the condo of which Stephen is the private owner who was available to assist always.... if your going to Kauai...stay on the SOUTH end of the island and if so....choose this place....why?.....no guess work...you will love the location...the actually spot...his price is a little more than the NiHi association but we had four other families who choose the association and wish they had our wonderful place!!!!!!! and Thank you so much Stephen! P.S. it is not an air conditioned condo and we have learned in the past that we enjoyed it more when we were not slaves to the indoor controlled air...take the fresh ocean air option for sure!

Steven’s place cannot be beat. The location is absolutely incredible (even better than we had hoped) just one block from the beach.
The beds were super comfortable and everything was clean, clean, clean! We enjoyed all the things provided such as beach towels, chairs, mats, etc. and Steven’s recommendations for activities and dining were spot on and appreciated. He is also super responsive.
We would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone we know. Can’t wait to come back.

My family had a great time in this condo. Close enough to walk to two great beaches, and the pool was great when the waves got too big for the kids. The ocean view was amazing and just as pictured above. This condo feels like you are far away from everything, yet close enough to walk to anything you need.

We loved our time at Nihi Kai #403. The condo was spacious, nicely decorated, and had all the comforts of home. Easy walking to the beach and around Poipu. A quiet area, especially at night. It was warm during our stay and a little AC would have been nice at night but the breeze held up most of the day to keep the rooms and the balconies pleasant. The owner could not have been more accommodating and friendly - getting us in a bit early on our first day, ensuring that everything worked, providing necessary items like dish liquid, toilet paper, etc., so helpful. A wonderful value and terrific location. We highly recommend the condo and the owners.

Not only was it immaculate...it was beautifully decorated ‘island style’ , and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need !
