We loved this cottage. The ability to walk to the coffee shop and market; the quiet away from the hustle bustle of the tourist areas; convenience to Hana road and Paia. We drove the entire island on our 4 day stay and in the end we were super pleased with our choice

This place is adorable and perfectly located! This was my cousin and my first time in Maui so we rolled the dice in terms of location and it worked out!! Coffee shop and market right down the street, so close to the beach/lookouts, easy drive to the airport, etc. The place itself is so sweetly decorated and we had everything there for cooking which we ended up doing a couple of nights. The process was so easy with our wonderful hosts! I highly recommend this place!

We really enjoyed staying in Amy’s bungalow. I love the North shore of Maui and this place is in a great location. The owners provide everything you might need in kitchen, bathroom and for beach use. Very well appointed. Loved the outdoor shower. The bungalow is very comfortable and quiet. We would love to go back.

The Haiku Surf Cottage is exactly what we hoped it would be when we booked. The cottage is cute and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. We really appreciated the beach chairs! The location is an easy drive to anywhere you’d like to visit, but quiet and just off the beaten path enough to make you feel like a local. We loved the outdoor shower and walking to the Baked on Maui. The owners communicated the perfected amount, making sure we we comfortable without being intrusive. If you are looking for something a little different from a condo or resort, this is the spot.

Amy and Joel really thought of everything one might need for a great getaway! The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and was in a peaceful surrounding. The only sound was the rain from tropical storm Calvin and the occasional rooster crowing in the distance. Great location walking distance to a quaint little grocery store and also a breakfast and lunch spot with all kinds of tasty food. Would recommend to anyone who would prefer to be off the beaten path and away from tourists traps!

We’ve had such a great time in this house. Communication was great, check-in and out easy and the house was stocked with everything! We loved the fact that it was away from the crowd, great access to the road to Hana and other spots!
The house was clean, well kept and we loved sitting outside during the evening rain! Definitely the place to be in Maui!

The owners were so thoughtful in all of the amenities and advice they provided. They were very quick to respond when we had questions about activities on the island. It was great to have separate bedrooms along with a living room. The location is ideal for a visit to the Road to Hana.

We loved our stay here! Great location to do what we wanted on that side of the Island, like visit Paia, Hookipa, Baby Beach, Makawao, and was a wonderful place start to the road to Hana. Cute decor, nice quiet neighborhood, and was a treat each morning to take the trail from the cottage to get coffee at Baked on Maui. Great memories made here, we had a lovely stay!

We loved our Haiku surf cottage stay! We aren’t ones for big fancy resorts and this place was cozy and clean and had great details. We LOVED the outdoor shower and fought over who got to take the first one. The property is beautifully kept and has fresh fruit and flowers! The hosts were responsive and helpful in all ways! We highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay!

My husband and I travelled to 2 islands over the course of 3 weeks. Our daughter joined us for the last week. We stayed in Lahaina for 1 week, hana 1 night and in this cottage. The cottage was nice and comfortable. We were gone during the day and had most meals out. Soap and shampoo were provided along with towels. We would have liked snorkel gear, boogie board or beach umbrella. A grill would be welcome as well. While this was a nice house we discovered it was over an hour to our favorite beaches on the island. We found a beach to watch the turtles and ate at a couple restaurants in Piai that were wonderful.

The checking in and out is very easy. Owner is responsive. The place is very well appointed, clean, and convenient to everything in Haiku. Wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of everything.

This was an adorable little cottage in a great location with a gorgeous back gate that led a magical trail to an amazing coffee spot. The kids love the surf board fence and we all had a wonderful stay here!

Lovely little cottage, full of attentive details, complete and clean, good beds, nice lanai, with a backyard door to Baked on Maui for great coffee and the best cake on the Island.
All the surfboards as a gate gave a holiday feeling. The grapefruit tree gave fruit. In the morning sunshine on the back lanai. Lovely evenings on the front porch. We had beautiful weather, but the house was cool by opening windows and using fans. Big piles of towels. Beach chairs. Complete kitchen with a big fridge and good oven. Bathroom Complete with soap and lotions.
Haiku Pauwela is a great location for the northern beaches, Paia, road to Hana and going upcountry and to Haleakala.
We loved our stay, too short helas.

The surf cottage was an excellent base for exploring central Maui, Haleakala, and departing on road to Hana. Worked well for four adults and was well stocked for cooking. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower!

This cute surf cottage has everything you need and more! Hosts were super communicative and easy to reach, with check in a breeze. It was perfect for the 3 of us and could be fine for 4 as well. They cottage had lots of items to cook with beyond basic cook wear, some basic spices and small items that make cooking easy. They have lots of touches that make this an above many other properties we have stayed including there recommendation book, library, snack basket, beach chairs and boogie boards! The fruit trees were amazing, and having a store, coffee shop and hardware store just out back gate was super convenient.

Nice, comfortable accommodations in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean and well-kept. It has a fun relaxing Hawaii vibe making it an inviting retreat after a day of sightseeing or the beach. Prior to our arrival a major rainstorm caused some widespread power outages throughout Hawaii, which also disabled WiFi/TV service. The onsite manager tried to restore the service and provided a lantern along with the battery candles in case of another power outage. The next morning the owner also called to check on us.

What an amazing property and awesome hosts! We all absolutely loved our stay here - such cool decor and every amenity was a step above. This was the perfect location for activities we had planned (road to Hana, Haleakala, helicopter that was near the airport) and it was so nice to come back to a peaceful quiet place to relax afterwards. Wonderful kind hosts who provided tons of helpful recommendations!

EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING about our Haiku stay was fabulous! The residence is adorable and immaculate! Beds were comfortable. Water pressure was excellent. The home was well stocked per all our needs. And communication with the owner was above and beyond expectations. Thank you so much!
Haiku, about 35 minutes north of Kihei, is a gem! It is an adorable, pastoral and tranquil town that was the perfect respite from the busier South Shore. It is a perfect place to enjoy the magnificent "road to Hana". If/when we return to Maui, I think Haiku is exactly where we would prefer to stay. It is definitely wetter but oh, so ideal. And, fear not, there are places to eat and to purchase needed supplies. You absolutely have to visit Baked on Maui, a treasure not to be missed.

This is a very well kept cottage in a quiet but vibrant neighborhood. Home was exceptionally clean when we arrived and owners were very quick to respond to questions.
5 minute walk through the back gate to Baked on Maui was a daily ritual for us - great coffee, baked goods and egg dishes. A short drive to local beaches for turtle and surfer watching and a great starting point for the road to Hana.
The cottage does share property with another home owned by the same people however, we never felt like we were in each other’s space as the yard is.a good size and the cottage has its own outdoor porch and deck areas well away from the other home.
Would definitely stay here again.
