This room was perfect! The views from every room are amazing. The wrap-around lanai offers views of the ocean AND the mountains, and was a perfect place to enjoy coffee in the mornings and cocktails at night. The condo is beautifully updated, well-appointed and maintained – and clean. The owner communicated with clear instructions about all major items and offered assistance if we needed anything (we did not need a thing). Additionally, the owner provided lagniappe in the form of the essentials that are often forgotten at the store such as paper towels, laundry pods, etc. To top it all off, the sea life was on display – the sea turtles swam by daily and the spinner dolphins made a run several days. Our experience staying here was absolutely perfect!

First time at the Whaler, but not the last. Was concerned since we hadn't been before, but it was fantastic. We were here along with 4 other families for a wedding (they had 3 condos on the 1st floor). Some of the features:
The fifth floor view is perfect. You're up just high enough to be at the right eyeline for palms, and activity up and down the beach, but not too far that you feel "disconnected" from your friends on the beach. Also, right over the grill area so easy to tell if there's a free spot (hard to light the grills, but really clutch).
We rented the dug-in umbrellas a couple of days, and they placed them within ear shot of our balcony, which made coordination easy with a big group. Very nice. Their free chairs for guests on the beach meant we didn't need to haul down the tommy bahama chairs from the condo.
We hosted a small get-together one night for drinks and sunset. Then watched Moana (obviously) on the big screen. The rooms and beds were super comfortable. Wall-to-wall carpet was soft and made the place cozy.
Enjoyed making breakfast and eating out on the balcony each morning. Got to know the rhythm of the catamarans in-and-out.
Easy to park under the buildling with all the recycling and trash close at hand. Small shopping carts make it easy to haul stuff up and down. And ABC store (and Tommy Bahama) are just steps away if you ask the front desk for the secret entrance.
We got a lot of use out of the tennis courts in the back.

Our stay was wonderful. The property was excellent and the location was perfect for our family. Communication with the owner was wonderful and he checked in to make sure everything was well during our stay. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and stay here again on our next trip back to the island.

The condo was so clean, comfortable, and had great ocean views with a huge wrap around balcony. Restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Everything you would need inside the condo for making your own meals as well. Our first time to Maui and it didn't disappoint. We would love to come back and be a repeat renter in this unit. In our opinion it doesn't get any better. Any questions we had the owner was so prompt in answering all of them.

Two late teen boys, my husband and myself. This unit is perfect. Quite large, all the amenities of home, perfectly stocked kitchen if you choose to do any cooking. Incredibly well maintained and clean. Now the view! Stunning! Location a quick walk to Whalers village but the beach front view and location can't be beat. Rick is a fabulous, attentive host proactive in communication to make your stay perfect.

We have stayed in VRBO rentals all over the world and this one has to be one of the best-if not the best! Ocean front with a perfect view of the sea and beach. This condo had everything we needed including extra towels, beach chairs/umbrella and the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen. We loved the fact that Rick and his wife (the owners) have maintained a well-stocked spice cabinet including vinegars, olive oil etc. for renters to use when cooking. There are also serving bowls, platters, mixing bowls, cutting boards, cookie sheets, pots and pans along with plenty of plates and silverware. Rick was easy to work with and kept us very informed about the unit. He and his wife even came to the condo to secure the outdoor tables because high winds were forecast (and we did have those high winds.) All the furnishings were lovely, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We will be back.

I took my husband to this property to celebrate his 50th birthday in January. My husband is a power wheelchair user & booking vacation homes can be tricky since many owners don’t know what disabled folks need. Rick was great, he actually spoke with me on the phone before I booked & answered all the questions that helped us decide if it would be accessible for us. If you are disabled or planning a trip for a disabled loved one & are considering this property, reach out to Rick with your questions, he is so responsive & a pleasure to work with. The condo isn’t fully up to ADA code but not all disabled people have the same needs. For us, it was perfect! 3 working elevators to get to the condo, once inside my husband could easily navigate his chair in the unit & onto the lanai without ramps. There is a paved path right next to a pristine the beach so wheelchair users can really enjoy their island stay. We saw so many whales while sipping morning coffee right on the lanai! Another great thing is that the building is part privately owned condos, part hotel, so we were able to get help getting our bags up to the condo and back to our car when we left. Front desk folks were lovely! Parking was a breeze. They let us park the wheelchair accessible van we rented in the 30min check-in zone for our whole stay. We have so many more nice things we want to say but alas, we’re running out of characters to type. 10/10. We’ll be back!

Condo is spacious with large bedrooms, sweeping views of the ocean and well stocked kitchen.

If you are considering this condo at the Whaler, I can only recommend that you book it. I have stayed at the Whaler many times in several different condos and 502 is our absolute favorite. Rick is wonderful to work with. I never have an issue with the condo at all. It is updated, beautiful and the views are the best the Whaler has to offer being direct ocean front. It is spotless upon arrival, comfortable beds, and there are beach chairs and coolers for your use. It is next to many restaurants and shopping which is super convenient. I will always stay at the Whaler and condo 502 as long as it's available.

My husband and I were able to plan a last minute trip to Maui, and I was so fortunate that Ricks condo at The Whaler was available. It is a beautiful 2 bedroom fully equipped condo with an incredibly huge wrap around lanai. There’s nothing better than starting your day with a cup of coffee and sitting outside staring at the ocean! Rick was great to work with. A very responsive and caring owner. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is a huge bonus, and it comes with detergent pods as well. The Whaler also has a lovely beach out front and we were able to rent cabana chairs with a hood from the pool desk for the days we spent on the sand. Overall a five star stay for sure!!We will be back! Thank you Rick for sharing your home away from home with us!

We had a fantastic stay at Whaler #502 in July 2022. Only wish we could have stayed longer. This unit is the best of the best. The beach and ocean views are superb, and the wrap around lanai provides plenty of options to either catch or avoid direct sun, depending on your preference. The unit is immaculate and equipped with everything one needs. Rick, the host, is extremely attentive and is genuinely interested in making sure his guests have a great stay. The staff at the Whaler is great, and the team at the pool hale is very helpful. In summary, if you are interested in a Kaanapali condo, look no further. Whaler #502 is IT.

The condo itself is amazing, with just perfect unobstructed ocean views from the wraparound balcony. We spent hours on that balcony every day, especially in the evenings. I also loved that all the rooms, including both bedrooms, had access to the balcony as well.
The location is super convenient. Was able to walk down to whalers village each morning for some amazing coffee and breakfast options, and only took a few minutes to get there. Some great shopping options there as well.
Hard to find anything to complain about, amazing trip that I hope to repeat in the future!

Our stay at Rick's condo exceeded all our expectations! We are a family of four with two college age kids- It was the most perfect family vacation, couldn't have asked for more! When we first walked in we were stunned by the amazing panoramic ocean views from every window!!! So beautiful and breathtaking! Everything in the condo was very well organized. The layout is perfect with every bedroom having a spectacular ocean view, and master bedroom having it's own exit door ( to sneak out at 6 am for the sunrise walk on the beach while the rest of family is still sleeping ). The beds were were comfortable, and we didn't hear any noises from any neighbors, or from outside ( except the ocean waves which is the reason to rent an oceanfront unit). so everyone in my family slept very well. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed for cooking full meals. I specifically loved the frying pans -very good quality compared to most vacation rentals I had I the past. We cooked every breakfast and most dinners ( why dining out when you can have the best sunset dinner in your own place?) There were plenty of Tupperware containers in the kitchen to pack lunches in the coolers which were also provided by the host. The condo location on the fifth floor was very convenient -just far away from the ground to have beautiful views from the room but not too far to walk up and down the stairs to the beach several times a day. Having washer and dryer in the unit was super helpful. One of the nice surprises for us was tennis courts on the property -we played every day with free tennis rackets and tennis balls provided by the front desk. Also my kids used fitness center every day. Overall we had a great time at Rick's condo at the Whalers. Can't beat the location, views, comfort, wrap around lanai and being the corner unit. We loved everything! We will definitely be back!

This property lived up to the pictures. You are right there on the beach, seeing and hearing the ocean. We chose this location so that we could walk to shops and restaurants. The unit comes with everything one needs for a beach stay. We had three adults and loved having two bedrooms. Communications with the owner were seamless. The place was exactly as described, perfect location. We saw whales and dolphins from the huge Lani that wraps around the unit. Rick, the owner was onsite when we arrived making sure everything was ready for us. He was so responsive, even provided us with binoculars for us to get better view of whales off shore. This condo was one of the best places we have ever stayed on Maui, (and we have stayed at MANY places, including our own timeshare!!)
The view is FANTASTIC and just perfect with the wrap-around deck!
All the amenities were taken care of, including many spices and things like that. There were beach items on hand to use. Everything was perfect!! We could not have asked for a better place!
Rick's response time and service was exceptional, as well.
Everything was outstanding! If I ever have the opportunity to stay again with that many people, I will definitely lreturn!!

We rented property 93900 for 2 glorious weeks located on the beautiful Kaanapali beaches of Maui. The condo is stunning, beautifully furnished, with a fully stocked kitchen and amazing wrap around balcony. The location has an excellent 180 view, perfect for whale watching and enjoying amazing sunsets. The location is perfectly located next to the Whaler's Village, which has great restaurants and shops for everyone to enjoy. The Whaler property and grounds are beautifully maintained with a lovely pool and amazing beach. We had excellent communication with the condo owner who was very easy to work with and offered us lots of great information about the property and local area. We hope to come back soon and highly recommend this property for anyone coming to Maui, you will not be disappointed!

This place was perfect for myself and two adult sons. It was so nice to wake up early to watch whales straight out from our condo and we felt more relaxed not having to pack up to get to the beach everyday. The condo was nicely decorated, very comfortable and the owner, Rick, very accommodating! My family and I absolutely love this condo. We've stayed several times before and this year we rented for 2 weeks we loved it so much. Has everything you could need in the kitchen which we appreciated so much. Condo is beautiful and exactly as listed in pictures, and the views off the lanai are so stunning we found ourselves there all the time. The beds are very comfortable. There were beach chairs, umbrella and ice chests for the beach. We've stayed at The Whaler quite a few years and this condo is our favorite. I've already reserved for next year too. We felt the rate was reasonable. The location within the building was outstanding. Not too high and not too low. 5th floor & ocean front is hard to beat. The upgrades and condition of the unit were better than most that I have seen in there.

We recently returned from Rick's condo. As soon as we settled in, I replied to his email with 3 words. Wow, Wow, Wow! The condo is very lovely and the kitchen is very well supplied with everything you possible need if you choose to cook which I love! Even a blender for Pino Coladas! Our family had a fantastic time in Maui in this condo. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left and every day in between we felt like we were staying in one of the nicest properties we've ever vacationed in. It is fully furnished with an upscale island feel, had plenty of space for our family of five to really spread out, and met our every need. The fully inventory of cooking supplies and table settings made eating in as easy as a quick trip to the grocery and even made grilling a snap on the property's 1st floor grilling patio. We highly recommend any family looking for a beach getaway book this property.
