Valerie’s cottage is very well kept and furnished. Rarely do we fun a good sharp knife and cutting board in a rental kitchen! Our hosts were attentive and very helpful. The views are outstanding.

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The ocean in front of you. The beautiful beaches and so close to downtown Paia. Everything about this was excellent. The owner of the property was so helpful and nice. She and her husband are locals and are right on the property so that was also very helpful. A beautiful little getaway that was perfect.

I found the place even better than photos! Road noise was no issue. We really enjoyed the deck off the unit and its amazing views of the ocean. Valerie was a great host.

All we can say is “Wow”. The cottage is so cosy and has anything and everything you could possibly need for a fantastic vacation! The bedroom looked out onto the ocean and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked and clean. The living room had a plush comfy couch and large tv which was nice to cozy up on in the evenings after a long day in the sun. The kitchen had every piece of equipment you could ever need including a juicer with an endless supply of oranges on the trees outside. Bbqing and eating on the lanai overlooking the ocean was incredible. It was perhaps the most relaxing vacation my husband and I have ever had! If we could more than 5 stars we would. Oh and Valerie the owner was so nice and her communication couldn’t have been better. We had zero issues with check in, our stay or check out. Highly recommend…. Just don’t book the dates we want to come back😁

We loved our stay here! Perfect location I’m Maui to do so many of the things we wanted! Valarie & Craig live on the property too which we didn’t know but wasn’t a problem at all! They were so nice & let us eat all the oranges off their trees that we wanted :)

This property exceeds every expectation. My partner and I were utterly spoiled staying here. Valerie Craig made us feel at home with this amazing accommodation, which served as our private nirvana during our stay on Maui. The property's fruits were delicious, and the ocean view made us want to stay for the duration of our trip. We had many lovely BBQ meals on the balcony. We truly felt like we hit the jackpot by staying here.

Valerie's cottage overlooks a beautiful topical oasis and full ocean view. The cottage was tastefully designed and just the right size for two. There were views from every window and a wonderful deck to enjoy our home made meals.
The location was perfect to easily get to town, beaches, wonderful restaurants, and all that the North Shore has to offer. Although, it was hard to venture out as I could have stayed the whole vacation right there at the cottage. Valerie and Craig were also very helpful and a joy to know. We are already looking at our calendar to plan a return trip.

Maui By The Sea was a perfect island getaway. The cottage and property were both charming, the cottage was clean and a wonderful private space, the yard and gardens were quite peaceful, and having the chairs for guests right at the water's edge, was a wonderful touch. We looked forward to watching the sunset every night! Valerie and Craig were excellent hosts, very welcoming and helpful. They made our stay even more enjoyable. The property was convenient for everything we wanted to do: beautiful beaches, sightseeing, and shopping. We would highly recommend this property, especially for those wanting a private getaway from hotels and crowded condos.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. Valarie and Craig were amazing hosts. Check in and out were incredibly easy. The property had a view of the ocean and a beautiful area to hang out on a shared lawn overlooking the sea. We highly recommend this rental and will definitely try to stay the next time we visit Maui.

We found the cottage just as described in fun Pai'a. It is well appointed (everything you need in the kitchen) and very comfortable. Valerie has thought of everything to make a stay there great. Watching the surfers and turtles from the chaise lounges is a highlight, and the beach is just a few houses away with plenty more turtles. Loved picking oranges off the tree just outside our door for fresh squeezed juice each morning.

This apartment in the nice town of Pa'ia is the most beautiful place for a vacation on Maui and a perfect starting point for this island.
The size of the appartment is perfect for two people.
We had our own porch to sit outside overlooking the Pacific and additionally a beautiful place at the ocean shore to sit and relax watching whales, turtles and surfers.
The appartment is very spacious and well equipped with a wonderful kitchen and washer and dryer. We missed nothing during our stay.
The bedroom with a Queensize bed and acess to the porch has a view to the ocean too.
The communication with the hosts Valerie and Craig was great and everything at 'Maui by the Sea' was perfect.
This was the best appartment we have ever visited in more than 20 years renting vacation homes and apartments.
Thx to Valerie for always being so helpful with everything around our stay in Pa'ia.

We had a wonderful time at Valerie and Craig’s beautiful home. They are very kind and thoughtful hosts. Incredible views from the property and steps away from a swimming beach with sea turtles. We loved cooking on the balcony grill. It was very clean and check in was easy.

The cottage in Paia overlooks the ocean and the mountains. A five minute walk to a lovely little beach with lots of turtles. A five minute drive to the funky little town of Paia. Big lanai for dinner or drinks. And the hosts, Valerie and Craig, were great. We had car problems and they were a great source of support. Thoroughly recommend this place. Perfect for a couple.

Maui By the Sea is a cute place to stay just outside of Paia.
The location is really great and the view is outstanding. There were a few little things that needed some attention, and the noise from the main road that is right behind the house is quite loud... therefore I couldn't give it a 5 star. Valerie is a great host !

This place was so cute, Valarie was friendly and helpful, you can tell she cares about providing a comfy spot for her guests. We rented bikes to get back and forth from some further away places but the beach near the house is super close and usually has turtle friends.

This was my husband and I’s first time to Maui, and we are so happy we stayed here. It is just a short ride from the Kahului airport, super convenient/close to Paia, Ho’okipa beach (lots of other beaches - mostly surfing vs swimming/snorkeling in time we were there- nearby too), and Mama’s fish house. It is closer than the more touristy Lahaina area to the Crater and the Road to Hana. Valerie and Craig were super nice, and Valerie was amazing in terms of helping us with tips on what to do on rainy days and how to look up the surf and weather radar etc (we were there during a very rainy week) to make sure we found the best place to be on the island for the day. We hope we can come back again and stay longer next time!
