First, all the hand soap was watered down in all three bathrooms. The Dawn dish soap in the kitchen was watered down along with all the bodywash in all three bathrooms. With Covid still being in full swing, I would expect full strength soap to wash hands and dishes with.
We were given 2 dish soap pods for the dishwasher and one needed to be used for the dishes the day of our departure. That left us with 1 dish soap pod for 9 days. Every dish we pulled out of the cupboard was not clean. Food stuck on utensils, plates and bowls. So we had to wash dishes before we used them with watered down dawn dish soap. There was a layer of dust and grease on the large utensils sitting on the counter in the canister next to the stove that had to be washed as well.
The bathroom towels were sour hanging in the main bathroom and several in the closet. I had to wash a load of towels the first day we were there.
The bathroom rugs were all very dirty, they obviously hadn't been washed for a very long time. I washed all the bathroom rugs on the first day as we couldn't stand to use them.
The freezer was not keeping things frozen and we had food spoil and ice didn't last a day.
Very disappointed and would not stay in this unit again.

We loved everything about this property. Really nice to have so many extras. Beach toys and chairs, snorkel gear, fully stocked spice cabinet and kitchen, games etc! Beautiful sunset off the lanai every night. We would definitely go back.

We were 4 adults, me, my husband, my brother and my niece. The place was amazing! Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning worked like a charm. Also has ceiling fans and floor fans. We spent a lot of time on the wrap around lanai just taking in the beautiful scenery! Nice breeze most of the time! Very private location. Communication with the management team was top notch! All our questions were answered immediately! They were absolutely the best! Thank you Shawna for sharing your condo with us! It was absolutely wonderful!

The location was amazing and condo was great. It has everything you need.
There were a few problems with items not working but management responded quickly and got them working.
For those deciding on A/C. We just used the fans with windows open. It got pretty warm during the day but cooled off later in the night.
Would recommend to others and stay here again.

We loved our time here. It's a little like staying at a family members cottage/condo. It's not a typical bare rental. You'll find games, DVDs, spices, coffee filters, towels, sand toys, beach towels, snorkels, beach chairs, different sheets/blankets/rugs.....I could go on and on.
This is a very spacious condo. Plenty of room to spread out. The beds/bedding are nearing the end of their life span, but we were more than happy overall. The patio is amazing. We spent a lot of time out there at night watching the sun set.
This condo was about 30-40 minutes away from our favorite beaches but an easy drive.
Communication was easy. Check in was a breeze. We appreciated the option for air conditioning.

The 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms were perfect for our family - grandparents, parents, and two daughters. We each had our getaway space and spacious common spaces. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lanai was great for watching the magnificent sunsets! Loved the location and the resort. Our second time at the resort and would definitely stay here again! I do recommend the a/c in August.

My wife and I were celebrating our 25 year wedding anniversary and decided to bring our adult kids along. Our VRBO condo was absolutely perfect for the five of us. The view was incredible. The lanai was great, the little extras such as snorkel and masks were an added perk. The kitchen was awesome for making some fresh fish dinner, having a few drinks and watching the sun set. Wonderful vacation!

We stayed at this property for five weeks. Absolutely stunning views. We spent many hours on the large lanai enjoying the whales, dolphins and sunsets. The condo is well equipped, clean and as described in the listing. Location is excellent and property facilities are well maintained and easy to use. We enjoyed the pool on many occasions.
The owner Shawna was very helpful and accommodating. Her suggestions of things to do on the big island were helpful.
Very safe and friendly place to stay.

We loved the fabulous view of the ocean and how quite and private it was.
The outdoor chase lounge chair was broken at the top and the container box with the water toys, snorkel gear, etc. was a mess. Everything was just thrown all together, the snorkel masks had no attachments for the snorkel breathing tubes. Also the kitchen was missing a toaster.
We contacted the local property manager, Abbey, and she was very helpful with giving us information on how to turn on the AC and purchasing a toaster for the unit.
The AC was difficult to adjust the temperature, it was either too cold or too warm.

A nice unit with a spectacular view! Certain appliances (fans) need updating. Kitchen is well equipped but could use a home edit. . We love The Kona Surf-and Racquet and stay here often. Would definitely come again:)

Aloha! Our group consisted of 4 high school friends who just had our 50th class reunion. We fell in love with the sound of the ocean breaking outside our porch. The colors of the ocean changed constantly throughout the day in this lovely setting. It was an easy trip to town plus our tour bus picked us up nearby for our 12 hour tour of the island. This condo was just as described in their description. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. If we were to come again at this time of year, we would use the air conditioning to just cool the place off at bedtime. Once the sun went down it took several hours for the ocean breezes to push the heat out of the condo. . But since it was an additional charge, we opted to just deal with the heat. We never turned the TVs on for the entire week. Instead we sat on our porch at sundown drinking in Hawaii. I would highly recommend this unit!

Condo was 'as described' with great views if not amazing views.
Plenty of space for our group of 5 adults, whether inside or on the lanai. The lanai had a large round table along with a high top table with 3 chairs. Also, a lounge chair was on the lanai along with a wide variety of beach toys.
Kitchen was well stocked with all of the necessary utensils and leftover spices from others. And plenty of coffee filters were in the cabinets.
The hall cabinet included leftover liquor that other guests did not finish and we even left 2 bottles of red wine. That's a nice touch.
Location!! 4 minutes, if that, to the grocery store, restaurants, drug store etc. 4 minutes to Kona Country Club. And the same distance to Keauhou Harbor where we took Hawaii Oceanic for a snorkel tour and for a night time Manta Ray experience. The manta ray experience was a 2 minute boat trip from the harbor. So you can't beat the condo location.
Views: just amazing watching the waves crash up on the black lava coastline. The views and the sunset can't be beat.
Noise level: very peaceful and quiet. Never heard any of the neighbors but then again, this is a top floor unit. All we heard were waves.
Did not visit the pool but it looked nice along with the tennis courts. I did grill out one night. 3 grills near tennis courts. Nothing fancy but they were nice and clean.
We will return here the next time in Kona!

We are a group of three friends who stayed at the condo for 9 days. The condo was perfect for us, we each had our own room and our own bathroom. It would also be an ideal setting for a large family or a group of three couples. Because it is the top floor corner unit the lanai was extra large and private. The views were outstanding! The condo had everything we needed for beach fun and self catering. An added bonus is that the complex is private and quiet, no road noise, just peaceful. This was our second time staying here and Shawna, the owner, is super accommodating and the communication was great. I 100% recommend 3-301 and can’t wait to come back again!

This was one of our favorite places in many trips to Hawaii! We celebrated Christmas here with family and it had everything needed for cooking and baking. Communication was easy and friendly and beds were comfortable. The views and ocean sounds were spectacular and we can’t wait to go back!

My friends and I love this property. We've been coming to Kona and this property for a very long time, and it's absolutely our favorite place to stay. What a fabulous vacation rental! As others have already stated, the place is well equipped! We stayed in the beginning of September and 100% still needed the AC so we are glad we paid for that. We loved that it was close to Kona and all of the restaurants, but do be prepared to drive an hour to the best beaches (Mauna Kea, Hapuna, Beach 69) each day. Make sure you are back for sunset each day as they are not to be missed!

Our family's stay in Kona was wonderful and amazing in large part to the wonderful condo. What a joy to wake up and spend the morning on the large deck, watching the crashing waves. Location is great. Close to beaches and a great grocery store. We went to the grocery store daily to stock up so we could use the wonderful kitchen with every utensil we could ever need. A real luxury having three full bathrooms. Boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear: check! Thanks for a great vacation.

We could not have been happier with this condo. We travelled here with our 3 teenage children- there was room for everyone. Having 3 full bathrooms was key! Words can’t describe the views of the ocean- and the mountains! There is PLENTY of (at least 10) sets of snorkeling gear, racquets, volleyball, footballs. 2 beach chairs, 4 folding chairs, 4 boogie boards, noodles, 6 beach towels, an over supply of bath towels, linens and the kitchen is fully stocked! Love that the owners ask housekeeping not to throw away non-perishables- so a huge supply of spices, vinegars, oils, tea bags, coffee filters. The development is so well maintained. We felt very safe in this clean and friendly environment. Short drive into heart of Kona and about 20 minutes to larger shopping (Walmart, Safeway, Fast Food). But within walking distance (up hill) there are grocers, restaurants. I am here pre-total knee replacement and had no troubles navigating the 3rd floor walk up. You will have to drive to the beaches- so do not expect to just jump in the water right here. Smaller more crowded beaches are only a few minutes away by car but the nicer more private beaches take a bit of a commute. But-Do not think twice about making a reservation here.

My husband and 3 teens had a wonderful stay here. We had lovely breakfasts and dinners on the the outdoor balcony/lanai and spent a lot of time relaxing out there. There is a lot of room for everyone and the loft space and adjoining bathroom are huge. The only drawback is that there was no closet space or drawers to put our things in the master suite so we used the ottoman in front of the bed to lay everything out. The master closet had many blankets and linens in it that took up a lot of space so we could have removed everything from there but did not want to do that. Overall, we loved this unit! The oceans views were amazing! It is a great place to stay for a first visit to the Big Island because it is really central for trips to the southern end and the northern end of the west side of the island. And Hilo is only a two hour trip away.

The balcony was the best part for us. The upstairs bdrm stayed hot so the kids slept on the couches downstairs instead. The downstairs bdrm with the sliding doors did not provide much privacy and you can hear the people watching TV in the living area. All of the appliances were in great shape and it was a great place to stay primarily because of the view and location.
Don't be expecting the path by the water to go much of anywhere. It only runs in front of the 3 or 4 buildings in that one section.
There are 2 beaches within walking distance (one with turtles) and a nice grocery very close by.

The property management team is top notch, efficient, and you know as soon as you enter the unit that they take pride in the place. The only criticism I have is that the towels smelled sour, not clean, so we did laundry straight away to have clean smelling towels, and laundered all before we checked out. For the guests after us, you are welcome!
The unit was as listed, although the views are far superior in person. Beds were all comfortable. The A/C option was needed and we were happy to have had that option and willingly paid extra for the comfort.
Don’t let the 3 flights of stairs and no elevator scare you away. They are very manageable, wide, carpeted, shaded steps. They were not at all a nuisance or an energy drain.
Spent a day at Hapuna Beach (a must see beach) and were very grateful for the beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and coolers.
You have Kona Country Club golf course views from the stairs leading up to the condo. Hubby and adult son played the course and loved the views as much, if not more, than the golf. They played Hapuna at Mauna Kea also and concluded both courses were amazing and unique.
On Wednesdays, drive south 5 minutes to the Sheraton resort entrance area for the local art fair and farmers market. It is small, quaint, and with great quality items available for sale to contribute to the local economy vs. imported souvenirs in the touristy Kona shops. Traditional ukulele performers and other entertainment. A good time!
Everything in the condo is nicely done and well cared for. Coffee on the lanai each morning, taking in the views, was so meditative and what we looked forward to before the busy schedule of our days began. Returning each evening for relaxing sunsets to wind down to, waves crashing around the clock, could not be beat.
Off the beaten path and with THE BEST view, this condo in a private, gated community setting with gorgeous and well attended to landscaping was the right choice for my family. After months of research, I couldn’t be happier with my selection and I will definitely recommend it, without hesitation.
Tropics Tap House (highly recommend volcano fries with a cold beer), grocery store, and Longs drug store all within a mile from the condo - super convenient. You will not regret booking this condo. Quit searching and book it now!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and forsure won’t be our last. This place is a little slice of heaven and the condo was perfect. It is on the 3rd floor which after such long travel and then driving to different places during the day made the truck up the 3 flights of stairs feel like I at least got a little workout in. The view is unbelieveible off the lani. There is everything you need from coolers for your trip to the beach, (should have checked so we left two more) umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkeling stuff, you name it it’s here. Definitely recommend staying here we really enjoyed it.

The place was fantastic — just as advertised and very well equipped. In the summertime, you might want to go for the AC route, but there are lots of fans and you are right on the ocean, so there is a nice breeze. The view is gorgeous and the condo complex is great — the pool and tennis courts are very accessible. You can walk to one of the best snorkeling spots in the island and it is great to be close to a major shopping center with most everything you could need. I would absolutely stay there again.
