This condo was perfect. Probably the best one we have ever rented. The location was exactly the dream spot possible and even better than the pictures show. As others have reported the unit was the most well equipped and everything you could want is there for you to have a wonderful experience at the condo and at the beach.
The section of the resort was secure and the close walk to the Ocean Club with its pool overlooking the ocean and bar and grill was a winner.
There were many things to do nearby including world class beaches and great restaurants.
Something was there for everyone. Shopping was available nearby in the same neighborhood so easy to stock up and cook at home in the kitchen that had all the items you would need.
The decor was lovely and comfortable inside and the beds were very comfortable. The Master bath has both a huge tub and shower. we were impressed with all the labels on lights etc to make it all so easy to figure out.
This was the perfect place for our group with an elderly couple adult couple and young child as it is a first floor unit with no stairs. The huge back yard with view of golf course and the ocean beyond was amazing. We spent much of our time on the covered porch watching to sunrise and sunset our toddler playing safely in the well landscaped and groomed lawn watching and chasing beautiful birds.
Lastly the weather there was perfect everyday and the ocean was not to cold to swim in November

Lovely condo with golf course and ocean view! Great patio for sunsets. Condo has beach gear, beach towels, and plenty of kitchen dishes/equipment. We walked to the pool every day and there is a trail along the coast to other resorts. Loved it all.

We were lucky enough to book this property as our vacation plans had to change at the last minute. The condo is absolutely beautiful, well stocked and in a great location. We felt like we could have moved right in! The neighborhood pool is beautiful and clean. The backyard is right off the golf course with an ocean view during the day. The night sky in the backyard is magnificent. Owners are great communicators as well - lots of written instructions provided and quick texters as well. Thank you for a great stay!

Wonderful 10 days in paradise. 3 generations celebrating 50 th wedding anniversary of grandparents. Condo is excellent for 6-8. Well appointed. Lots of beach equipment in garage. Our 4 th time at a condo in Hali’i Kai. This was the best. Tremendous view of sunsets. Many excellent close beaches - a bay, Hapuna, 69, . Kids favorite was a-bay for easy snorkeling. Easy walk to beautiful pools area. Basketball court across street. Jogged every morning from condo on Ala kalakai trail along ocean to a-bay. Kids loved seeing porpoises at Hilton.

We loved everything about our stay. The condo is beautiful and very well stocked with everything you need for a fantastic beach vacation. The owner was very quick to respond to any thing we asked. We were sorry to see our time here end. Will definitely stay again. Our only complaints had nothing to do with actual condo. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive until right at 6pm when office was supposed to close. However they closed early that day 5:15 so when gate code didn’t work we were a little panicked. Luckily another resident let us in but then the pool attendant was VERY rude to us. We learned later that this particular pool attendant ( the only one) was just cranky about everything. We heard from at least 8 other families that she had given them grief also. Other than this our stay was perfect.

Our first time staying here and we will definitely come again. Beautiful views, quiet, easy, clean, organized unit and community. We loved the lower unit and the grass outside the lanai. We played corn hole, spike ball and more. Quick walk to ocean trail. The community pool, restaurant and gym were a PLUS. We loved the option to go here everyday. The condo itself was clean spacious and just right for 8 adults (with 2 on sofa sleeper in living room). The condo is stocked with so many extras. It’s been our best experience by far in all condos we’ve rented for our vacations simply because so many kitchen items were there. Foil, ziplock baggies, Saran Wrap, tons of Tupperware for beach picnics, portable coolers, beach towels, bikes, games, after sun products, snorkel gear, kids toys, scooters, boogie boards, and more! Have so many little things there that we would otherwise have to buy was genius. Kitchen cabinets are not cleared out. Oils, seasonings, etc are there. The host was awesome and very attentive to all communication. We had an amazing time with no complaints.

We've stayed in Hali Kai before and this 3 bedroom unit did not disappoint. Saying this condo is fully stocked is an understatement. Truly everything we needed was there, even the little touches like flashlights in every drawer in the bedrooms. Also Doug was very responsive when we did need to reach out, even though it was in the middle of the Super Bowl. 😏 Great hosts, and we would stay again without hesitation.

Seamless from booking to being there. Well equipped condo. Love that you left condiments, etc in the refrigerator. I also booked a second condo and it is evident that the cleaning crew takes the 'left overs' or they toss them. This unit was so well stocked and it was very much appreciated.

We are extremely satisfied with our stay at this property. The host always responded fast, provided excellent instructions upfront, checkin process was super simple and smooth and the property was fully equipped with pretty much everything we could think of! Everything worked well. Home smelled fresh, beds were comfortable, sheets were clean. The property is downstairs so it was perfect for our elderly mom who has some disability. The lanai has some of the most beautiful unobstructed views- phenomenal sunsets. Large open space and no neighbor windows peaking in, only some wild Hawaiian birds (including the amazing Nene geese, an endangered species) were visiting us. And the breeze! We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo Doug!

We came to Hawaii to enjoy a family vacation. With our kids graduating from high school and college and one still in college, we wanted to actually get to spend time with them and this was the perfect setting. As beautiful as the pictures of the condo are online, it's even more beautiful in person. The decor is vibrant and welcoming. The furniture is extremely comfortable and that includes the beds. We spent time on the lanai every single day. Being on the lower level, it provided shade and there was often a nice breeze. The sunsets were spectacular. We took advantage of the beach equipment and used the towels and beach chairs almost every day. We did snorkel one day and got to swim with the turtles. That was one of my daughter's favorite experiences. Everything we needed for the vacation was right there in the condo. The place truly was paradise. Like I said, absolute perfection!

We came to Hawaii to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday and could not have had a more beautiful condo or location to do so. The location on the golf course was lovely and we spent quite a few evenings and mornings enjoying the view on the lanai. The condo itself is gorgeous and well appointed. It comfortably slept 6 - my Mom, my husband and myself, and my three adult children. It equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Sports equipment and beach gear was available for our use as well. We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas for outings to the nearby beaches.
We used the tennis court, the pool, the gym and ate at the restaurant within the complex. They were all a convenient walking distance from the condo.
Douglas was very prompt in responding to questions and provided clear and thorough instuctions in advance for checking into the condo.
We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend this unit for families or groups.

My family loved everything about this condo! It was clean, in excellent condition and a great location. The layout is perfect for a family with young kids, since the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are separate of the main living space. We loved the quietness of the community, but the accessibility to beaches, shopping, hiking and the airport. We'll be back!

The condo worked very well for our family with the bed set ups and floor plan, great views and location within the resort, very well stocked kitchen, all the beach extras, bikes and then some. The beach chairs are in the garage so the majority of the sand stays out there. The view from the lanai was gorgeous and the nice lawn area to play games on was an added bonus. The check in was a very easy process and Doug was very responsive and helpful when we needed a new propane tank for the grill. It was great having a grill right on the lanai. The pool overlooks the ocean and the poolside restaurant had delicious food with staff that were very friendly. The resort grounds were very tropical with gorgeous flowers and the grounds were well maintained. This was a great home base for our trip to the Big Island!

You literally just need to show up! The condo is fully stocked with everything for cooking! The beds were super comfortable, towels were clean, lots of spices and condiments which was helpful!

The photos don’t do this place justice - the pool and gym overlook the ocean and have the restaurant has poolside service, making for a very luxurious vacation. The rental itself was immaculate, well decorated, and very comfortable for our 2 families of 7 people.

Can't say enough about this unit.Having been a rental property owner Doug has everything you need for a vacation in Hawaii.There was not a time where I needed a kitchen gaget or cooler or beach toy and it was there.The unit is clean well decorated and probably the best unit view wise and location from amenities.Both small shopping centers are within walking distance or short bike ride .The Waikoloa Hilton is right across the fairway Our family had a great time .You will not be disappointed.

Really beautiful condo with plenty of space. Really well stocked with kitchen essentials as well as toys etc for the beach. the garage has everything you need- boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear (somewhat random assortment but it worked for us!). The pool is really good for little kids and is about a 5 minute walk. Only bummer we didn't realize is there is no beach access from this resort. And only one restaurant within easy walking distance. (but the restaurant was yummy and not too expensive!)

Our stay here absolutely exceeded our expectations! This unit at Hali'i Kai is a perfect mix of tropical vacation & home-away-from-home. The very large living space accommodated our family & 4 year old, in addition to our in-laws. Kitchen was stocked with every utensil & apparatus you could want for a short or long stay. The interior was spotless and we felt it was well-cleaned prior to our arrival. I can't say enough about the conveniences: in-unit washer and dryer, garage full of beach gear for kids, snorkeling, picnic, etc. One thing I really loved was that it was ground floor corner unit that opened up to a huge protected lawn - my daughter spent time throwing the frisbee with her papa and running her hearts delight. The unit faced the lawn so I could see them from the kitchen island, with the ocean on the horizon. Hali'i Kai also neighbors the golf course and Hilton - I had a medical conference to attend, and it was an easy 15-20 min stroll to the hotel. Proximity to local conveniences and restaurants is 3-5 min drive. Staying here was worth every penny, and Doug is an amazing host. Communication with him was a breeze and we will definitely be returning and recommending to all of our friends!

Property is just as it seems in all the pictures! Really great location and discovered we had bikes in the garage that I missed on the first couple days! Fun addition!
One thing that I hate buying on a short trip are all the simple stocked kitchen items like ketchup, mustard and olive oil etc. This condo has it all! I appreciate the owner not having the cleaning crew do a clean sweep of every nook and cranny when it comes to the basics left behind!
Special shout out to the heavy pour you get at happy hour from 2 to 5! Those Mai Tais at the pool bar/restaurant really pack a punch! Cathy is busting her hump day in and day out and always has a smile on her face!

The property is beautiful and the condo was clean and spacious for a family of five. It was also fully equipped with everything we needed, including everything we needed for beach outings. The location is close to shopping, restaurants and many beautiful beaches. I would come back again (and stay longer next time)!

This condo is in the perfect location to sit on the lanai and enjoy the golf and ocean views. Comfortably appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, great bbq, and all the beach amenities you need (towels, umbrellas, chairs, cooler, beach noodles and boogie boards).
8H is more separated from the neighboring building, offering a bit more privacy, and the lawn in front is a plus if you have kids or want to read in the sun.
Hali'i Kai is in a great location, close to everything. The pool and club is really special. Doug was a great host providing all the information we needed at our fingertips. We can't wait to come back!

I have no words to describe how comfortable you can feel just to be laying down in the Lanai looking at the sunset every day In the afternoon. Our family of 4 (including one teen and one 7 year old) stayed here! The location is amazing!! So private and quiet, very safe with GORGEOUS ocean and sunset views! The lanai was a great spot for breakfast and watching the sunset. The layout of the unit provided plenty of space fir us to all spread out and be comfortable. The unit included all of the amenities needed for making simple meals as well as beach toys for all of us. The amenities of the neighborhood were fabulous. We walked to the pool, which was so tropical and right on the ocean’s edge. It was perfect for our family! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

Our family of four stayed for 12 nights in June/July. The condo was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed. The owner was easy to work with.
All of the four beds were comfortable, and the unit was quiet. There was a grill on the lanai which we used several times. There was a nice area of grass just adjacent to the lanai and our kids really enjoyed playing there.
The condo was well stocked with kitchen equipment, detergent, soap, etc. The washer and dryer were huge and worked well. There were plenty of beach towels and beach chairs, tennis rackets with balls, and even some kids' scooters and two bikes.
The unit was in good repair. The only thing we noticed was that the carpet is showing its age.
One of the best thing about the is the pool. It is right next to the (lava) beach, and there are absolutely gorgeous views of the sunset from there. The pool has a black bottom, so it warms up very nicely in the afternoon and stays warm in the evening. It closes at 9 pm. (We wished it stayed open later!) The Ocean Club Restaurant was very good and we'd recommend some sunset meals there. Although some reviews for this condo complex indicated there was excessive monitoring and supervision of the pool, we thought it was all very reasonable, not too intrusive, and allowed for a safe and reasonably calm environment for all.
We also enjoyed using the basketball court and the tennis court on the grounds. Speaking of the grounds, they are kept in excellent condition and are beautiful.
You definitely need a car if you stay here.

We had a great experience staying here for a two week vacation. The condo is very well equipt for an extended family group. Everyone had their own TV to use, which made for a very peaceful get away. We especially enjoyed the pleasant evenings and BBQing on the patio. The youngest of the group appreciated the boogie boards to use at nearby Hapuna Beach. (5 minute drive). Loved the mattress in the master bedroom...very comfortable. The complex is quiet and meticulously maintained, and was easy to go for walks and stroll down to the shoreline to enjoy the sunsets and whales. Probably the most comfortable and quiet condo we have ever stayed at. Our restaurant tip is Cafe Pesto in Kawaihae Harbor. Good pizza, fresh fish, great salads and decent prices. We really had a great time on the Big Island, and very much enjoyed your condo!! It was great to have the tennis rackets,!! balls, beach chairs, beach towels etc… and the use of the oceanfront pool and club. I think we ate there at least 4 times. Your condo is very comfortable and well stocked and decorated beautifully!! For your info, everything seemed to be working properly,loved that your unit is on the corner and bottom floor, played lots of games of cornhole(sandbag game) It was an amazing value for our group of six… We would definitely consider staying in your place again. The oceanfront pool really makes you place stand out in comparison to the thousands of condos in that area!! Good choice!!:) Thank again, for sharing your beautiful condo with us!!

This condo is the greatest!! We live on the other side of the Big Island, so we are very familiar with the area and units. I have to say that they are very well maintained, the pool is great, and this unit has everything you need. The complex is nice and quiet, spacious, and is right on the ocean!! The owner is very responsive and is easy to communicate with. We are actually planning our return visit as I type this :)

This condo is simply amazing. It is located about 35 minutes from the Kona airport in Waikoloa, a resort town on the northwest part of the Big Island. The condo itself is beautifully decorated, has all of the amenities including a BBQ on the veranda, gorgeous pool that is not that crowded, grassy area to play and a wonderful ocean/lava rocks view from the patio/grass area. It is great that the condo is on the first floor since you get that extra play space and grass area. The master bedroom is fantastic and the other two rooms are great, perfect for kids and an adult couple as the rooms are side-by-side. The part that most impressed us was the house was fully stocked - both with household items like paper towels and the like, but with beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, a bike and many other fun things to enjoy the island. The owner answered all of our questions right away and was easy to reach. Another added bonus is there are two shopping centers close by for grocery purchases or to go eat out if you'd like. All in...an amazing experience. Thanks!

This condo was perfect for our Big Island vacation! Ideally furnished - plenty of privacy, but it was the little things that made it perfect. The owners have a bean bag toss game, quality boogie boards and beach chairs all available for use. The Lani has a grill and overlooks the golf course and has a grass area (perfect for the bean bag toss game). Star gazing is amazing in this area. The chairs in the pool area are SO comfortable! and there is a fitness area (which was a huge draw for us to the complex).
This was our 2nd vacation to the big island, the first trip we rented a house in Kona. We were much happier in the Waikoloa Resort area.
Stock up at Costco - we were surprised at the quality of the seafood / meats and grilled out most nights.
My only "complaint" is the fitness center does not open until 6:30a.m. and with the six hour time difference (from Atlanta) I was wide awake by 4:00a.m. the first few days and would have loved to work out at that time.

Loved it. The resort complex is excellent: awsome pools, right by the ocean, beautiful sunsets, tennis court, workout room, resturant and bar with really friendly staff.
"Top notch" unit from the Weber bbq to the stainless Whirlpool appliances to the Hawaii themed art. It has an really nice floor plan, excellent master suite, flat screeens everywhere (it's a long list of good things). It was really nice to find all the beach towels, snorkeling gear one, foot balls etc. that you'd need for a day at the beach, plus all the dish washing and laundry detergent you'd need when you get back. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This is our third time to the island but the first time staying at this condo. We have stayed at the Hilton & Fairmont, but this place is superb. It provided comfort w/space, amenities & ability to have a "home" atmosphere. We brought our 2 year old and she loved it here! The pool and gym is amazing! My sister came with us and we enjoyed tennis. We loved all the pool toys, beach toys, tennis rackets, beach towles, etc. Thanks for this experience & we hope to come back with more family!!
