Our family of four (two children aged 9 and 12) stayed comfortably over the past week and had the best time. Location is fantastic in relation to everything on west/north Maui but away from the crowds. The facilities (pool/lawn/grills/etc) were clean, very well maintained and entertaining for all. The condo was comfortable and well equipped— especially for us since we do almost all of our own cooking (with local market finds) any time we are on the island. We are already plotting a return. Nothing could have been better.

Loved the location and the easy beach access. Grounds were well maintained, although only 3 BBQs were available due to some common areas being blocked off for maintenance. The unit we stayed in was convenient, easy parking by the door, and had room to spread out. Our primary complaint is that the floors and carpet were filthy and we encountered cockroaches throughout. It was odd, because surfaces were clean, kitchen and linens/towels clean, but floors neglected. It was nice to have a washing machine in the unit and air conditioning.

This condo complex is a jewel. The beach is small but wonderful. Sea turtles were seen everyday. The condo is a basic place with everything you could need for your time at the beach.

The view from the room is just as listed ! Watched beautiful sunsets, saw lots of turtles , awesome little spot to teach the little ones how to snorkel! The condo it’s self could use a deep cleaning, especially the carpets. Washer and dryer were life savers ! Wifi wasn’t great but had full cable . We’ll equipped kitchen . Location wasn’t much walking distance to anything but we had a car so wasn’t a big deal. For the price , definitely worth it ! Thanks again John !

While the property did seem like it could use a good deep clean, the location was everything we had hoped for and more. Great layout for families and outstanding beach. We loved our sunset view and couldn’t beat swimming with the turtles!

Condo was in good area. Good Ocean view. We were a little disappointed with cleanliness of unit. Small hand prints on sliding glass window from I guess last visitors. Had ceiling fans in all rooms, need to clean the blades. Walls in Master bathroom also needed to be cleaned. Carpet on stairs also dirty looking. We do understand this is a rental but first impression when walking is those stairs. We unfortunately had real cockroach problems, so we had to wash everything we used before using, did call and got someone to treat, but that was after dealing with them for four days! Liked the air conditioning, and kitchen was well stocked.

Everything you could ever want with a stay in Maui! Small, quiet beach, gorgeous grounds, and nice accommodations. (The beds are hard, they could use a nice 3" topper to help make them softer and a deep clean is due, but general surfaces were clean.) John was so great with communicating and really seemed concerned about making sure we enjoyed our stay. Absolutely will stay here again!!!

Beautiful location with access to a quiet sandy beach (lots of whale and turtle sightings and a picture perfect sunset). Short walk to Napili Market for coffee, baked goods, groceries, and great restaurants. Each bedroom has its own private access (via stairs) and AC unit which made naps for my 1 year old much easier than expected. The kitchen is a good size and has all your essentials. Master bedroom has a big patio and washer/dryer. We stayed at a larger complex during the second half of our vacation and realized that the size of Kahana Sunset is perfect for a family with infants or even older adults.

Great place & location. Easy check in. 6 of us stayed and there was enough sleeping space. The kitchen was great! Cooked most of our meals. Just make sure everything gets put away at night - even frangrace toiletries because the Hawaiian roaches come out forsure, especially in the smaller bathroom. Having a washer & dryer was a bonus! We definitely enjoyed our stay. Thank you John and Kathee.

Condo was perfect for what we needed it for, both rooms offered a private bathroom. Views from both balconies were incredible. Complex was clean and had a great view of the ocean.
Only con to the stay was the birds on the backside of the condo. Hundreds of birds stay in the trees along the street and wake up in a deafening chirping every morning around 530.
This was of no fault to John, who was an accommodating host

We don't usually do the condo route for vacations. However, the accomodations at this unit far exceeded our expectations. The view from the balcony, the laid back, quiet atmosphere, and the prime location all contributed to the amazing trip. You can have a great meal eating out only minutes away from the condo, or you can make a fantastic meal right at the condo. Some of the best snorkeling with sea turtles we've ever experienced is just 150 yards away. If this unit is available, do yourself a favor and book it immediately!

The location is great. In Maui you will need a car no matter what, or at least will make life easier. The complex is great. Many of the units have fantastic views. This one in particular. Really enjoyed waking up to the view and the late afternoon sunset. The unit is exactly as in the photos. Everything works and is well equipped. A bit on the older style, yet it feels warm. Everything clean and comfortable. The amenities of the complex are nice complement and one can snorkel right there. On our last day there were 8 sea turtles there.
John was great to communicate with and so was the local management company. Would definitely return here on our next visit to Maui.

Overall our stay was fabulous. Our refrigerator did not work for the first four days but as soon as we contacted the property managers it was replaced. Our unit was on the east side and there were extremely noisy birds who woke you very early. It was annoying. Property was clean. I would definitely return. Might recommend an umbrella for the designated smoking section.

Wonderful place to stay. Well stocked with spices coffee filters, pots pans, dishes etc. and 2 blow dryers. Washer and dryer with detergent provided. Dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen towels. Only had to buy food and drinks . And an extra thank you to whoever left the Uno card game behind for us to enjoy :) Great communication with owner and property manager. Would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful Maui and an affordable condo for 6 people. It had everything we needed. Everyone at the property was very friendly and the views are gorgeous. The pics looked like there were 3 beds in the second bedroom but there were only 2. It was my error but we worked it out. We had a great time.

We absolutely loved our stay. The location was great and the view off the balcony was amazing. The kids loved the private beach and pool which made it easy but we also were close to other popular spots to snorkel, turtle watch and enjoying everything this side of Maui has to offer. Kitchen has everything needed to support family cooked meals with supermarkets nearby. We would definitely come back!

We loved our stay and the location was great! The kitchen is well stocked as others have said. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. Kahana Sunset Resort is very low key and relaxing. The access to the beach was handy and the snorkeling was amazing. We enjoyed watching all the sea turtles.

We enjoyed the beautiful views from the condo's porch. The property was quiet and relaxing. The property is close to Napili shopping center (3-minute drive) and Napili Bay Beach (4-minute drive). The shopping center has a number of good restaurants. Napili Market is a nice, small grocery store. Their in-house food was good. Our kids love the musubi and fried chicken. We rented some snorkeling gear from Boss Frogs next door to the market. Napili Bay Beach is close by and was great for tide pools, boogie boarding, and snorkeling.

This is a beautiful property. We had so much fun here with our family. The grandkids spent hours in the water on the private beach. We watched a beautiful sunset each night on the beach. A turtle, the we named Shelby, came up each night to sleep on the beach. Property is well maintained. The kitchen is so well stocked. We enjoyed cooking our dinners here. The property managers were very responsive when we called them for an extra parking pass for our kids. We will be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at Kahana Sunset. The condo is in a small development with its own private beach and pool. It is quiet, with mainly young families and retired folks staying at the resort (this may also reflect the time of year) which was perfect for us. Napli shopping center is a short drive (or walk from the property with some restaurants, a nice market for food to cook-in, a Boss Frogs to rent snorkeling equipment, and a wonderful coffee shop. Other beaches, developments, and restaurants are just a short drive away if you want to shop or eat out. The condo was clean and spacious, check-in was seamless as we arrived after hours for the property manager and used the instructions communicated to us beforehand by email. You can literally park outside the condo door.
The onsite property managers were outstanding in their communication with us (they were changing out lanai furniture one day while we were there) and when we had problems with a hair dryer in the condo, it was replaced quickly. We found inside of the condo as pictured. The kitchen was spacious and well-stocked with cooking utensils. While we didn't use the grills on the property to cookout during our stay, many residents did and they were cleaned every morning by staff to be ready for another day of grilling. The sunsets from the lanais (there are two - one on each level of the condo) were breath-taking. My only suggestion to improve the property would be to think about replacing pillows - there was only one pillow per person and they tended to be flat and broken down (we slept in the second bedroom, away from the ocean view). If you are particular about pillows, you may want to bring your own. This small quibble, though, did not stop us from resting and we had a wonderful time during our week at the property. The showers in the property are excellent with a strong stream of water.
We could see whales in the ocean from the property and especially enjoyed the sea turtles who called Kahana Sunset home. They would swim in the rocks during the day and were visible from the property, and at night, a few of them would beach themselves on the sand to rest at the quiet private beach. We went to some larger public beaches to swim and snorkel during the vacation, and we swam with turtles at one of the beaches. If we return to Maui some day, this will be the place that we try to book again. If you go, you won't be disappointed.

This is the 3rd time we stayed here on the property & we just love it! Unit D7 was in a great spot, you cannot beat the view. If you like a firm bed, then the master bedroom is perfect for you. There is a large ice chest with wheels, we did buy a smaller one that we could just carry, so now you have your choice of which one to use. There was one small chair, so we bought 2 additional ones & some pool noodles that we used to hang out in the ocean. I would definitely stay in D7 again. The kitchen is so easy to use & plenty of room to move around in.

The location was excellent, we felt that we had the community to ourselves most days. Frequently we went to the beautiful beach and were alone for an hour. Beautiful views of Moloka’i from the beach and the place is close to Honolua Bay for excellent snorkeling. The community was taken well care of and the pool was cleaned and maintained twice a day. The house was stocked appropriately with everything we needed and especially appreciated the washer/dryer unit so we could pack light. Also very thankful for air conditioning.

Comfortable accommodations with beautiful views and access to the ocean. The sea turtles love the rock formations on the beach and they’re always fun to watch. This complex is smaller so it’s definitely a more intimate feel vs a crowded resort. I never had to worry about getting a lounge chair at the pool 😊

We have come here 4 times. Such a lovely spot. Close to excellent snorkeling, surfing and boogie boarding and consistently lovely grounds around Kahana Sunset. It’s intermittently annoying with loud guests and kids but for the most part folks are respectful of curfew.

We loved our stay!! It was private with its own beach and pool and covered parking five feet from the door! The a/c worked great and the kitchen was well supplied. The grounds are beautiful! You can’t go wrong with this property.

We loved the intimate setting. The property staff were kind and helpful. We loved the beach and property and the close proximity to groceries, beaches and snorkeling spots. We have stayed many places in Maui and Kahana Sunset May just be my new favorite. The condo was spacious for Maui too.
