I really didn’t want to write a review because everyone will want to stay here and then it won’t be available when I want to come back. This is my third stay at the Hale Kai. All were great, but I stayed on the side with a view of the park. This unit was so convenient to pool access and the beach where upon arrival we were greeted with a rainbow and a slumbering sea turtle on the beach. We saw breaching whales in the distance as well, but that is march in Maui. Probably not so much any other time of year.The actual accommodations were more than adequate. The dishes and silverware and whole condo had a theme. Beds comfy too. I even preferred to sleep on the couch. Great view and you are lulled to sleep by the waves.The locals that live in the building put up with us travelers and blow a conch at their sunset ceremony every night. Wanna feel like a local? Stay here. But save a week for me...

Our family of 4, all adults had a great stay at Hale Kai! It was in the perfect location on the beach. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every evening and morning coffee on our patio looking out at the ocean. It is a small quiet condo complex within walking distance of shops and food. We had a wonderful family trip!

Everything was in working order and clean. Shower renovation since our last visit was nice! Can't wait for our next trip! My only complaint was the missing rice cooker (pot and lid only).

We loved this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We were greeted with a wonderful “ Aloha Basket” of local treats and a personal note from them owner that was much appreciated. The lanai was 18 steps (counted them!) from the sea wall and we spent many “happy hours” out there enjoying the view. Watching for whales and spotting sea turtles added to the experience. The property was fairly well maintained and a problem with the sliding screen door was fixed the day after we arrived. The unit is small in square footage, but we spent most of our time outside, so it didn’t seem to be a problem. Parking was available and convenient. Coin operated washers and driers are on the property and worked well. On the down side, the bathroom smelled musty unless we kept the fan on 24/7. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt the condo gave us a wonderful Hawaiian experience.

Everything we need to relax in one place. Easy access to the private beach & beautiful pool. Non obstruct view of the ocean, got to see whales & turtle while seating on the patio. Property was very well maintained by staff, pool & Bbq grill were clean daily. Pool along ocean, great for sunset viewing to end your day.

The view was absolutely gorgeous but unfortunately that was the only positive aspect of the complex. The whole place was not cleaned, there were dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinets, the floor was sticky, lamps switches were sticky, tons of dust on the lampshades, furniture etc etc.We didn’t have enough sheets for all of the beds but Melody the manager was great with providing what was missing, she also sent a lady to clean the floor but there was way too much beyond the floor. I was disappointed that for what we paid for this stay the apartment was in such a poor condition,All the furniture really should be replaced ( dirty stained chairs and beds) Dirty fans etc etc It wasn’t a pleasant stay but the location and the view were wonderful.

We have stayed at the Hale Kai most years since 2011. Mostly in this unit. It has the best ocean view on the ground floor. It is in need of new beds throughout. There is no longer an office onsite. We love this location so much that we have been putting up with the deteriorating, well loved unit.

Hale Kai exactly fit the bill for us. Our vacation was a college graduation gift for our 25 year old granddaughter, who was expecting her first child in four months. We wanted a small, quiet, unglitzy family friendly place on the water, within walking distance of groceries and small restaurants, and a short drive to excellent snorkeling spots. We loved both the farmer's market, across the street, and the public park, frequented mainly by locals and their kids, next door. My husband found it inviting enough to do some plein-air watercolor painting, while I read in the shade. Our granddaughter relished languishing in the pool, enjoying final days before assuming the responsibilities of motherhood. Our condo was just right; Valerie and the rest of the staff were most accommodating and helpful. Hale Kai is a delightful place and we all felt very fortunate to have found it. We would love to return some day.

Great locationValerie, in the rental office is a jewelThe property is showing it's age, is not being maintained eg front door deadbolt does not work, balcony door does not lock (but there is a locking bar). Cockroaches are somehow getting in.But, overall, is a comfortable property in a great location

We had a wonderful time at the Hale Kai #120! Hearing the Ocean as we fell asleep with that ocean breeze was a highlight! We also enjoyed the views and sunsets from the lanai. This apt is in the perfect location, right next to a beach park and across from the grocery store and market. The pool was amazing! Fun to look for whales while sunbathing! Valarie is so helpful and friendly. We love this place❤️❤️

We were happy to find this last minute availability! I didn’t read many of the the reviews since we were in a hurry to secure lodging only a few days out. Pros: this condo is a great location, just steps from the beach and pool! Certainly a rare find! The complex is small and quiet. Staff very friendly. The condo was well supplied including cooler and beach chairs. Cons: No coffee filters which is a bummer when there’s an empty box on the shelf . The king bed, and two twins are so uncomfortable! I’m talking aching back and arms asleep! Also all pillows poor quality. We have a rustic cabin in Alaska that has some mattresses from the ‘70s that are more comfy than these! Also, chairs in great room have lost cushion firmness and Not fun to sit in (unless you drink a lot of wine ;-). Screen sliding door a little wonky. This place needs some love and a cushion/mattress overhaul and a Complete makeover. We would definitely stay in this complex again but maybe a different unit till they put some makeup on this one!

We love these condos. Pool was perfect for our kids and right by the ocean. A little pocket beach where we saw sea turtles is fun too. We made use of well stocked kitchen and the gas bbq. An expensive but good little grocery is a block away. The location is great for getting to the best beaches in west Maui. Our family spent several mornings at Kapalua which is a couple miles down the road has parking and is a good spot for kids, snorkeling and renting paddle boards. We had a great time.

Our family rented 6 condos at hale kai, and 120 was the best location but the least updated. We loved hangout on the lanai, but the bathroom could use an refresh and kitchen is tight for larger groups.

Exceptional service from Hale Kai staff. Easy to locate the unit and having a designated parking space is always a plus. Unit was quiet and perfectly located close to the ocean, pool and BBQ. Loads of shops and restaurants near by. Only advice would be to get a new model TV to allow streaming devices such as a fire stick to allow Netflix streaming for kids.

What a wonderful place to stay. Clean, well equipped Condo. Had everything we needed for a great 5 days. Loved sitting outside with the ocean a few meters away. The pool was crystal clean. Who would want to stay in a large hotel with lifts and small rooms. A true Hawaiian experience. The BBQ's were spotless clean every day. The staff were also very discrete, friendly and very helpful.

The condominium had a great location near 2 snorkel rental shops, farmer's market, supermarket and 2 smaller markets with tasty cheap eats. Was nice to be next to the ocean and listen to the waves at night. Neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. Saw turtles every afternoon. Very relaxing to eat lunch outside on lanai, with Molokai in the distance and frequent whale sightings.
