We came for our 27th anniversary, but it ended up being the honeymoon we never took. Everything was perfect. The condo was adorable, decorated for comfort and the kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING possibly needed. We only ate out 2x during our 7 day stay. So many amenities for a day at the beach, chairs, umbrella, and beach mats and towels. We packed a cooler lunch each time. The bed was beyond comfortable and we kept the windows open all night being lulled into deep sleep by the sound of waves. We never missed a sunrise or sunset from the patios. The view of both was perfect and rainbows over the water were often and stunning. The pounding surf agains the rocks directly below us made for a constant show as the sea turtles snacked in the bubbling water. Beaches near by were a little bit busy, but still the snorkeling was fun. The best beach we visited twice was on the other side of the island and was nearly deserted each time. Secret beach will have a place in our hearts forever. We’d never experienced a tropical get away before. Although there are other places in the world we’d like to see, it will be difficult not to consider just coming back to this same condo and the gorgeous island again. Thank you for an unforgettable moment in our lives.

This condo is as advertised. Nice size for a 1-bedroom, well equipped kitchen, close to pool and beach. Killer views! Condo manager needs to update instructions for house key. Lockbox instructions are irrelevant and front door deadbolt key does not work. Perfect vacation. Definitely recommend helicopter island tour. We used Jack Harter and they were fantastic!

A lovely property in the very best location. Mornings on the patio, watching the turtles, short walks to the beach and a nice pool. The decor is very Hawaiian and comfortable. Would be nice to be able to use the 2nd bedroom and bring family or friends.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Spectacular view of the ocean with waves hitting the rock cliffs. Lots of sea turtles in the water. Loved having 2 lanais--downstairs and upstairs. Enjoyed seeing sunrises and sunsets. Pool was warm and wonderful to swim in. Athletic Club Membership was included; had fun at an aquatics fitness class there. Condo was very clean! Highly recommend other visitors indulge in a Puka Dog (Hawaiian Hotdog) down by Poipu Beach Park. Go to the town of Hanapepe and stop at the Midnight Bear Bakery. Take a day tour and let someone else drive you around on the Secret Kauai Canyons and Coastlines Tour through . WE CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!

Being an end unit it has a large side window that gives an additional view and lots of light. We loved our stay here! You can’t beat the two story lanai - with views of the ocean. We saw dolphins, whales, turtles multiple days. There’s also a good variety of birds. The condo itself is very close to poipu beach - walkable but a little bit of a trek to lug all your beach gear so we drove sometimes. AC is great in the bedroom and the bed was comfy - it was not too soft which we liked. No complaints. Would absolutely stay here again.

Location could not be better!! 100 ft off of a quiet street. Back of the house is south facing w nothing between you and American Samoa but a rocky cliff and open ocean. If you can’t see the turtles from your balcony you’re not trying. Fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the lava rock 50 ft from you window. If I were to retire to Hawaii this is the perfect place. Public beach 1/4 of a mile away were the sea turtles beach themselves and sleep for the night. Bars restaurants and shopping a short hike ( not a walk) away. Beautiful grounds and views. We’ll be back and don’t want to compete w anyone for availability so disregard everything I just said.

Great condo with breathtaking views. All day and night you can hear the waves crashing against the cliffs edge. The host was easy to work with. We stayed 10 days and everything was absolutely great until day 6 and got an error code on stove. Contacted host and she had someone out within 30 minutes. The Tech stated that they would need to order a part or swap out if they could find another stove. On Sunday, we received text from host stating sorry for our inconvenience and would contact owner for a discount. Unfortunately only received our $250 security deposit refund. We realize things happen and being on an island makes things even more difficult to replace. However, any small gesture would have been appreciated.

The location and view from this property are outstanding. It gets a 5 for that. The reasons for only giving 3 stars are because the instructions for check-in were completely wrong. They specifically gave a code for the lock box with key and said there would be another key inside the condo. Turns out neither key works. It's 6 pm on a Friday so the office is closed. I call the emergency number and no answer. As we are standing there fumbling around a kind neighbor comes by and informs us that the code is actually for the key pad on the door. You had to put in that number and then press the check mark. None of this was in the instructions. When I emailed the property management they didn't bother to reply.
As for cleanliness, the upstairs bedroom has carpet which to me is an absolute no in a rental. There is no way to ever get that clean. The rest of the condo is clean and while a bit dated and needs a little tlc, the view and location will make up for that for most people. A short walk takes you to Poipu Beach, Brennecke, Shipwreck. The washing machine did not work nor does the light and fan on the microwave.

The property was very nice, other than the awful swimming pool that was built out over the rock outcropping which should have been left natural. The only problem with the booking is when VRBO outsources to third parties (in this case, a vacation rental broker) who sends lots of silly, outdated, erroneous emails, text messages, etc. People trying to make money by doing nothing. But the property and the folks on site are good.

We found this ideal spot for attending our son’s Wedding Week stay in Kauai... the accommodations could not have been more perfect! The unit was spacious, decorated beautifully, and generously equipped with anything/everything we could have wanted. Waking to crashing waves, turtles, manta rays, birds, and even a couple rainbows set the tone for each day. The pool provided great relaxation after morning coffee and breakfast on one of our patios. Great location for Poipu wedding activities, and a wonderful place to return to at the end of each fun-filled day. We would return tomorrow if we could, but maybe in a year! We appreciated & enjoyed our “membership” at the Poipu Athletic Beach Club, joining our kids & grandkids for swimming, lunch, and fun. The management was very responsive to our needs, and left us a special little treat to apologize for an inconvenient early Saturday morning (new) washer/dryer delivery. This place does not disappoint!

The property location and overall look was very nice. Unfortunately the mirror in family room was very dirty, the second smaller bathroom shower drain did not drain well and needs plumbing clean out, the upstairs master bedroom sliding closet door on left side needs service and it would be nice to have all windows cleaned. If owner just took a little more interest in maintenance and repairs, this would be a 4.5 star unit.

While we have been fortunate to visit Kauai and Poipu Shores many times over the years this was the second time that we were able to stay at this wonderful condo, the Sea Cove Hideaway, and it is by far our favorite place to stay! It is a beautiful condo with lots or room, beautifully decorated, perfectly maintained and very clean! The views are fabulous with lots of wild life and a magnificent sunset at the end of each day. The day we arrived we had a warm welcome from the property manager who came with fresh flowers. The location and view from this condo is amazing but the lack of A/C will keep us from coming back. The unit is clean but could use some updating to the sliding glass doors and windows. I also think it would be better to have a little less furniture, it seemed a little cluttered. We were aware of the lack of A/C before we rented but were swayed by reviews that stated it wasn't necessary. I don't know if it was hotter during our stay but the upstairs was unbearable for sleeping. The fans just didn't do the job and the trade winds just never seemed to cool the condo. But we really enjoyed the pool, the view, and the turtles swimming in the cove below our balcony! I would recommend this place to others as long as they don't require A/C.

This condo is amazing! The view is priceless. It's a corner unit, so it has a fabulous view from both the upstairs and downstairs lanais. This condo provided everything you could ever want. Full kitchen with tons of dishes and utensils. There were beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and snorkel gear to name a few things. There was bug spray, sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, and anything else you would have in your own home. The decor was beautiful with lots of Hawaii appropriate pictures and flowers. We loved going to bed each night listening to the crashing waves outside our door. When we first arrived, we were even greeted with beautiful flowers from the property management team. The room doesn't have air-conditioning, so it can get pretty hot, but there are a lot of fans provided to help that. The condo was very clean and appeared to be very well maintained. The swimming pool on the property was great too. Being able to swim and watch the waves come in was an added bonus. Also from the pool, you could watch the sea turtles swimming around. We enjoyed staying in the Poipu area. It was a lot less crowded than the North Shore. Our favorite swimming beach was the Salt Pond Beach. We would highly recommend staying in Poipu, and especially staying in this condo!

Generally very good. However, there was roofing going on on the Poipu Shores units as well as construction on the units behind us, so there was a lot of construction noise and debris. We felt we should have been told about this and perhaps even have received a discount on the cost of our stay because of the noise and inconvenience.

We were looking for a peaceful retreat and we had that with Sea Cove Hideaway. The Townhouse was very clean and we especially loved the proximity to restaurants and shopping in Poipu and Koloa. The ocean views are breathtaking and it was so nice to have 2 lanai's; one upstairs off the master bedroom and the other at ground level. Watching the sea turtles play and feed every day was so enjoyable whether it was steps from the town home or from the pool area. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and utensils so preparing a meal was very easy. Loved having the grill just outside our door. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return and stay here again.

Loved the space and the view but I was not aware the unit did not have air conditioning (AC). Yes you need it. Even with all the blinds open and fans on we would sweat trying to go to sleep and then wake up freezing cold as the temperature outside would drop at night. The room was too hot during the day which made getting ready for our wedding difficult as we kept sweating. My wife's makeup kept running. We live in Houston so we are used to being hot.

Beautiful location along poipu shores. The sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs and view were once in a lifetime. Property manager was responsive and very nice and helpful and even brought extra fans and flowers for our arrival. Frustrating to hear other reviewers discuss the lack of ac since the place is not advertised with ac. The breezes and fans made it comfortable.This is not the Marriott. The only thing I didn't like about this property was the cluttered nature of the decor and the owners labels around the unit. Way to much furniture for the size of the floor plan and way to many labels around the unit which is an owner choice not a property manager choice. Having instructions labeled everywhere to follow was a bit too much. People are on vacation and don't want annoying instructions and labels on railings by showers and on tables. Great stay and I will be back as all the issues were very small and the property was overall excellent.

While the condo was ideally situated with a magnificent ocean view, the condo itself was a huge disappointment. There were many maintenance issues:1. Fan/light over stove would not properly turn off even when "off" switch was in place. There was a note from owner stating that fan/light over stove had to be disengaged from a switch above microwave. (This meant climbing up on a chair to reach it - no way we would do that, so we didn't use it!) 2. Dryer on/off knob broken. Had been removed and pliers were left on top of the dryer to control on/off feature.3. Faucet in middle bathroom dripped constantly. 4. Toilet seat in middle bathroom was not secured! 5. Soap dispenser in middle bathroom didn't work - no soap.5. Bath mat frayed - needed replacing.4. Some of the portable fans did not work properly, so it was nearly impossible to cool condo at night. There were obnoxious notes left around the condo advising not to do something or advising what to do! The kicker was a note in the bathroom advising renters to use a squeegee to clean shower doors - come on now, that's not a vacation activity! The nightly rate did not match the condition of the condo - there wasn't even an ice maker in the (prehistoric) refrigerator.We have stayed in some awesome condos listed on VRBO, but this one really needs to be better maintained, and notes should be left only about critical matters. Can't recommend this condo with good conscience.

We had 3 weeks of relaxation in Sea Cove Hideaway. This was the first holiday that we stayed in 1 spot the whole time and did not eat out very much. The condo had everything you need to make great meals so that we could enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean from the dining table or the sofa. The whales were a daily pastime, not the leave out the turtles in the bay just steps from the lanai. The star gazing at night was wonderful (the milky way so clear). The wi-fi connection was the only problem had to keep calling to be reconncted every few days (a Building problem whatever that means)it was always fixed within a few hours. We would stay here again.

The unit was beautiful and extremely well equipped and appointed. The view was fantastic and we could watch the sea turtles from our bedroom lani. Our only discomfort was that the unit is not air conditioned. Three of our days stay temperatures were in the high 80 and low 90's and the trade winds weren't blowing. This made sleeping difficult especially with the upstairs bedroom. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the unit to family and friends.

My husband and I stayed at 3 different properties during our 10 day stay on Kauai to really get a feel for the whole island. Poipu Shores was definitely our favorite! Super clean, spacious, and killer views!! We absolutely loved the view from the patio and balcony off the bedroom. View from pool was amazing too. We enjoyed watching monk seals, turtles, whales, and dolphins. The rental was also well equipped with dishes and cookware and beach gear. Comfy bed too!I feel lucky I was able to call this paradise home for a few days. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

This is a great location and a cozy spot for enjoying all the southside has to offer. I was so excited to be able to see the whales playing right off the coastline. The owners even provide binoculars to make whale watching easier. I spent some time in the pool, which is really nice--and it's a great temperature. The views are beyond amazing. We watched sea turtles eat and swim along the shore all day. The sunsets also cannot be beat. Not only do you have a front row seat to the sunset, but each night we were there, we also had whales swimming by. The experience was beyond amazing. The property itself is a bit hidden but very well located. The pool is basically built on a cliff and also has amazing views. We would highly recommend staying here.

You couldn't find a more beautiful setting! Peaceful, private and beautiful views. We loved hearing the waves all night, but when the storm accompanied them, it got a bit loud! The property manager was very nice, and with the issue we asked be dealt with, it was immediately. However, the description of the lodging is not correct. Although it was meticulously clean, this condo was not recently updated and it did not have new appliances. The condo is full of decades old bamboo and rattan, which according to the guestbook, some found enchanting, but it was not to our liking and the tiki hut odor was not as well. However, you might enjoy it, as others have. What was bothersome were all the warning signs of what not to use on the appliances: the microwave/stove fan and light could not be used, only one dryer setting could be used, and the appliances were obviously older and in need of repair. The shower door handle fell off on first use, tho was quickly repaired the next day. The toilet seat and cover detached completely from the toilet and we were never able to locate the controls for the main floor ceiling fan. However, the air conditioning on both floors worked well. Since we had just come from a Maui condo that was in perfect condition, this condo was a little disappointing. However, the gorgeous view, excellent location just steps away from Poipu Beach Park and decent price compared to hotels in the area made up for it.

We loved this condo.....the view was awesome and the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below was wonderful to fall asleep and wakeup to. The location of this property is amazing. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and are already planning for next year. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves, enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio while watching the sea turtles, hanging out by the pool, and enjoying the spacious rental made our Kauai honeymoon.
