Overall nice condo and it was clear that the owners want to give their guests a nice experience. For example the 2 stage water filter on the kitchen sink. Since the lanai Sliding door doesn't lock we would suggest adding an in room safe for valuables left in the unit. It was difficult to use the shower without getting doused with cold water getting it on the floor.slide

My wife and I spent two nights here and loved it. Conveniently located. Food trucks and grocery stores near by. The back porch overlooking the ocean and black sand beach was amazing especially watching the sunrise and seeing the moon at night. It was great having beach chairs, umbrella and ice chest provided. We were there in September and with no air conditioning it got pretty toasty inside but the fans that were provided helped a lot. We would definitely stay there again

This was our second stay in recent years at this condo. We were very comfortable during both visits. The lanai looks out over the ocean at Hana bay and is the perfect place for a quiet dinner or wake up breakfast. We enjoyed having the TV in the evening and the closeness of the beaches and places we wanted to visit. The owners are easily reached if you needed to contact them. Highly recommend for a Hana visit.

So glad we spent 3 nights in Hana. Centrally located for an early start to Wainapanapa and Oheo Gulch to beat the crowd. The sound of the waves crashing and the rocks tumbling was soothing to our souls. Beautiful sunrises and beach is very close and easily accessible.

After driving The Hana Road at night and rain, we opened the door to be welcomed with flowers, a kind note, and treats. Kailani Suite- Corner Ocean View 1 Bd/1ba is a great place to spend time in Hana! It has ocean breezes and a fantastic view. Hawaiian decor throughout makes it all the more charming. We wished we planned for more days here. Great location to do explore the beaches and parks around Hana.

We stayed here just short of a week and just wow. We’ve been to and stayed at many beaches and nothing beat the view from this condo! The black sand beach is basically untouched and is secluded, it’s stunning. The sound the ocean on the rocks is indescribable and the perfect lullaby every night.
The sunrise is beautiful, it’s like watching a painting every morning from your patio. Which is made better by the Maui roaster coffee that is provided. We’re from AZ and worried about no AC but the crosswind breezes are more than enough to keep the place cool and comfortable! It was clean and cute and felt very homey. Loved the kitchen and that it was well stocked with everything needed to cook.
The town of Hana isn’t much, but it’s more than enough for a long stay if you’re looking to get away from it all. Hana is small with only one resort but the amenities are easily accessible for the public (the Hana Ranch Restaurant is delicious). Most of the restaurants are food trucks, but don’t be scared, the food is the best! Almost all the trucks and roadside stands are farm to table and you can taste it in the freshness of the food.
We loved our time in Hawaii thanks to Hana and this cute little condo! Many thanks and mahalo!

We really enjoyed this suite! Such a quiet and quaint location. We loved being able to walk on the black rock beach. The good size lanai was so comfortable for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The opening from the kitchen to the lanai was so charming. The suite was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Great location for exploring get the attraction at the end of the Road to Hana as well as a nice neighborhood to explore. The food truck meals were excellent. We enjoyed everything about our stay in Hana!

We are frequent visitors to Hana, and always try to stay at the Hana Kai. The location is hard to match! We had never stayed at this particular unit, and are very happy that it was available this time. After 50 years of traveling to Hawaii, I finally stayed in Hana. In just three days, it's become our favorite discovery. Our condo was perfect with a stunning location, thoughtfully appointed, and a very comfortable bed. We spent time daily at Hamoa Beach, as lovely as they say! Hiked the O'heo trail, enjoyed hours of music and hula at the Hana Farmer's Market, ate at food trucks and treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at the Hana Maui Restaurant. We will return!

Loved this comfortable condo in Hana Bay. Located right in Hana with a view of the bay this rental was a welcome destination at the end of the long and winding road to Hana. No AC but with the ocean breezes you don’t miss it. This place has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Hana.

The unit was much larger than expected and had a very old Hawaii feel which we loved. Could not ask for a better location. The sound of the waves definitely put us to sleep every night and the bed was by far one of the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. My husband and I booked this condo for a few days after our wedding. The check in was easy. The view was beautiful. The condo was clean and stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner every day. It was perfect. We loved all of the recommendations and especially loved the beach chairs and umbrella for a relaxing day on Hamoa beach after a surf lesson by Keli. Thank you for having us. We thank the owners for their insightful provisions—the usual plus extras, like an installed water filter system for the sink & ice maker, vegetable oil, salt and pepper, wine opener, sunscreen lotion, shaving gel, board games, playing cards, novels, and other stuff a traveler usually brings along— that made this condo a comfortable place of exceeding convenience. We loved that it was spacious and clean and steps away from the coastline. This place offers so much more than we’re able to include in this review; in short, we would love to stay here again when we come to Hana.

Great location with beautiful views from second story. Property provides access to black sand beach which was great to take morning and evening walks on the beach. Big parking lot, grill on premises, stocked with coffee and snacks/treats. Close to state park, red sand beach, and Venus pool.

We had a great time in Hana. The condo kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with useful items you don’t normally see in vacation rentals. The breeze on the larger deck was sweet scented and made watching the waves very pleasant indeed.

The view overlooking the beach, and Hana Bay was beautiful. Everything was as advertised and very clean and organized. We used the beach chairs and beach towels as we explored the island. The short walk down to the black sand/stone beach was really cool as you go by the fish pond. We would stay here again if we are fortunate enough to make it back to Hana

This condo is in a great location and is well maintained. The owners description and other reviews are right on the mark. If you want to see Hana this would be a great place to stay and see the area, and we would gladly return. The only weak point was that we were a party of 3 and the pull out couch was subpar. If you charge for additional people, I would hope that their sleeping comfort is good. Plan 2 nights so that you can hike and see the area without your luggage disappearing from your car. The other thing to consider is cooking. The general store in town is small, I mean small. They had no fresh meat and very limited frozen food, they were out of sugar... If you like to cook in your condo, you need to supply up in Kahului before making the trip down.

What a great unit! Very tastefully done, super clean. We spent a lot of time on the wonderful lanai--coffee in the morning, Thai food from Ae's for dinner. The weather was rainy during our stay, but they had brand new beach chairs, cooler and everything we would've needed for a beach day. Very limited breakfast options in Hana, so we really appreciated the little breakfast tray of items--and especially the Maui coffee!! This was our favorite place on the island, we would just love to stay here again.

Have stayed at the Hana Kai twice now, but the Kailani suite is a step up for us. Hana is always one of our destinations when we come to Maui, whether for a day, a weekend, or a week. The Hana Kai is perfect for us as we don't need or want the expense of the "other" hotel in town, yet we feel we live in luxury at the Hana Kai. Will definitely return to this comfortable and relaxing place. I would have given a 5 star, but rained entire time (this trip) and the unit had a plumbing issue (because of heavy rain) that delayed our use of plumbing when we arrived. Still GREAT place anytime.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Kailani Suite condo in Hana. The condo was very clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our time there, from coffee maker with complimentary coffee to beach chairs and towels. We loved listening to the waves on the beach and relaxing on the lanai when we weren't out exploring Hana and the surrounding sites. Would highly recommend staying here, we hope to be back someday!

We had a fantastic four night stay at this lovely condo. It was great to have a home base in Hana to explore all the beauty of this area. The condo was immaculate and we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Really enjoyed the beautiful view and the quiet location, no noise but the waves, and what a great sound. We spent a day at Haleakala hiking to the waterfalls and O'heo Gulch; another day we hiked from the condo to the red sand beach and then up to Fagan's Cross, and another day we spent at Waianapanapa State Park. Do yourself a favor, bring some hiking boots and take the trail for a mile or two along the cliffs at the state park, you will be blown away by the beauty and the power of the ocean. We loved it so much we went back the next day to do it again. Will never forget it. Thanks Tom and Vicki for being great hosts and being very responsive and professional with the arrangements. Nice touch having Netflix, it was appreciated in the evenings. Hoping to return to heavenly Hana one day!

First - you should stay overnight in Hana, rather than drive there and back in one day. First, it can be a crazy drive (in rain esp) and driving right back means you'll miss enjoying some of the great spots along the way to (and just past) Hana. Okay, public service announcement over.
This unit is in a condo/hotel, but is managed separately from the other units. It's a large, modern 1 bedroom, with huge lanai overlooking a black sand beach, certainly the best views from this building (lower floors will see another building in front). Everything is there, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, great living space and super clean. There are umbrellas and chairs and a first aid kit and and and...very thoughtfully done. Likewise, the grounds are nicely kept, although the 'upper' bbq grill is basically non-functional -- the lower one works great, and is where we grilled our tuna (bought from nearby fishermen) -- use that one.
You're pretty near Hana town (which is teeny) but you probably would drive to and from e.g., the Hasegawa store...there are a few places to eat, but then fine dining isn't the point here -- sit back, crack a beer, and wallow in your own sublime coolness.
Tom may have gone a little overboard with the labeller ( :-) ) but I can understand why, having rented property before. Overall a great stay -- come to Hana and stay here.

This is an ideal location for exploring the eastern side of Maui. It is an easy walk to the beach and the town dock, and one morning we even walked to Fagan Cross to watch the sunrise. The condo is lovely and very comfortable, and the balcony felt both private and open to the view. Highly recommended.

The Kailani Suite was lovely. Located on the upper floor of the building, it afforded a good view of the cove. There is another building in front of you, but it is at a lower level, so the view is still very good. And, you can walk down in front of the ocean-front building to view the lovely sunrise. The condo was clean and very well-equipped, with beach gear such as a beach umbrella, beach chairs and a small cooler. Tom and Vicki were very good owners--prompt to reply, etc. We had an excellent stay.

We spent 4 nights at the Kailani Suite and it was very clean and comfortable and equipped with everything you would need. You could hear the surf from the bedroom and we had a very nice breeze which cooled the room nicely. The Kitchen is a bit small, we didn't do much cooking so was not an issue for us. It is walking distance from town, not many places to eat so make sure you take supplies down or eat at the road side places before the Hana road tours end as they all closed before 4pm. Hana ranch food truck was great. The beach out front was beautiful and quite during the day and offers a beautiful sunrise with your cup of coffee (take the walk out to the end of the beach... it's worth it!).

We spent 4 nights at Kailani Suite and everything was perfect. The unit was spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The very large lanai is where we spent most of our time and the views are spectacular.
The cooler, beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels all came in handy and were well used. The fresh flowers, breakfast tray and coffee were all appreciated, very nice touch.
Tom was quick to answer all of our questions, and service from start through finish was A+.
If you are lucky enough to spend some time in Hana, as we were, don't miss Haleakala, Ohe'O Gulch and the pools, (there is a short hike from the visitor center to the pools and cliffs that we recommend taking for some spectacular views). Homoa Beach was our beach of choice. Visit Koki beach, while there try Huli-Huli Chicken delicious, also on the food line don't miss Thai Food by Pranee and Bradduh Hut where we had delicious ribs.

Wish we had the time to stay longer and accommodated on short notice at the Hana Kai! Well stocked, great view (almost saw a sunset on rainy side of Maui), easy walk to black and red sand beaches. Aside from Hana locals being very unfriendly, the town and location is magic!

We stayed at the Kailani suite and it proved to be an excellent decision. The suite has plenty of space, is very nicely furnished and everything worked perfectly. There is a small beach literally a stone's throw away and the balcony overlooks the ocean and was a great spot to hang out and watch the sun come up. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen which was very helpful. We loved staying here !

This unit is cozy but quite comfortable and relaxing. The unit is IMMACULATE and well supplied. All furnishings, kitchen supplies, linens and beach needs are top notch. The view from the Lanai next to kitchen and sitting room is amazing. We really enjoyed every meal on the deck ..... although not a great swimming beach, it was gorgeous and very close. A CONSTANT serenade of ocean sounds. Even all the way through to the bedroom for sleeping. We got the PERFECT view each morning for a Hana Sunrise. The unit is on a quiet road .... easy walking distance to the Beach Park and the "town". Of course, short driving distance to all else Hana has to offer. Would have liked pool and/or spa, but everything else was outstanding. Only regret is not being able to meet Tom & Vicki in person, altho every email was answered/replied quickly..... they sure are terrific hosts!

Nice VRBO with a beautiful view of the sunrise over the ocean. It was so wonderful sitting on the lanai seeing the day begin drinking wonderful Maui coffee. A time we will never forget. The place was well appointed, clean and stocked with breakfast goodies which we appreciated. Loved leaving the door open listening to the waves on the beautiful black sand beach.
This is a perfect place at a great price for exploring the Hana area, swimming at Hamoa bay beach, going to the state parks and exploring the rainforest.
We had wonderful huli-huli chicken at the beach. I would definitely recommend this facility due to its location, pricing and comfort.
