Let's start with how spectacular the view from the lanai is, it's simply breathtaking to just sit and embrace the environment.
With that said, the unit is very dated, can use a bit of TLC to get the place more comfortable and cozier. The dining room table only has 4 chairs around it and it's quite small, if you're going with a family as we did, you'll need to sit separated and/or sit outside on the lanai which is what we did for the most part. The kitchen has limited supplies, i.e. serving bowls and such that might be needed for a family meal. The range is electric, and the bottom right burner was broken, and this is the power burner that people would normally use to cook. In the living room, the couch is comfortable but there were a few spots. There are 2 bedrooms in the unit but the wall dividing the rooms isn't completely closed, there is about a 5" gap against the window which gives you ZERO privacy. In the front bedroom, there is NO dresser to put your clothes in, so you'll have to hang up your clothes and/or leave it in your luggage for the duration of your stay. Both bedrooms have a very nice firm beds, but the blankets were very thin. The weather definitely was nice, so a thicker blanket probably wasn't necessary but if you like the "fluffy" bed, you'll have to pack your own.
Washer START button is VERY sensitive, it took us about 30 minutes to start it every time we ran it. No gym access either and pools were marginal at best.
Not going back.

We are not strangers to the islands, but have always stayed in hotels... not anymore! This place is gorgeous with its surrounding ocean views and what feels like your own private showing of the Friday fireworks from the marina. Centrally located within short distances to shopping and eateries even made our teen stay off his phone. The place is spotless and we can't wait to return.

This place is gorgeous with its surrounding ocean views and what feels like your own private showing of the Friday fireworks from the marina. Centrally located within short distances to shopping and eateries even made our teen stay off his phone. The place is spotless and we can't wait to return.

This rental is all about that view, and it is not disappointing at all. As expected with wrap around windows for maximum views, the unit can get warm. The location of AC units inside the main living areas misses the mark because it is not centrally located. I found myself sitting at the table while inside so that I was always getting cool air. The unit was clean and as advertised. The property itself offers so much in the way of shopping and food, it’s easy to just stay in the area and enjoy some relaxing days. The unit offered us everything we needed to not only have a place to call home base, but to have a place to want to call home base. Again, the view is fantastic. Don’t forget to close those curtain after 2/3pm as the sun will heat up the inside quickly. My only complaints are: the two bedrooms need to offer a bit more privacy, because the wall in between does not completely enclose/seperate the rooms. Also, some window treatment should be considered by the property owner to maximize efficiency and comfort while the sun is glaring into the unit. We would stay there again.

This has to be one of the best views in Waikiki. The condo overlooks the Hilton lagoon, Ala Wai Boat Harbour,Diamond Head, Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach and up the coast. The views of the city at night are as nice as the daytime views. Alii Rentals was great to work with and were available if we needed any assistance. This was our 3rd stay at this property. Our first two it was a one bedroom, remodeled into a two bedroom. The wall between the bedrooms is not sound proof so not private, but it didn't ruin our stay.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai Hotel Penthouse. The visit was a welcome vacation for sure. However, we were able to visit with family, as well. We had family guests over to watch the fireworks on Friday evening ... ring-side seat! And were able to walk to almost every planned activity. or easily arrange transportation. A number of great restaurants nearby and a variety of shopping to accommodate necessities for tourist shoppers or satisfy the serious fashionistas! We called management regarding one small issue; had a reply within 2 hours and it was taken care of the next day! Totally enjoyed the Hawaiian Hospitality. Great experience!

The location of this property is amazing for access to the beach, shopping, restaurants and the Friday night fireworks. This unit has amazing views and is spacious. Two bedrooms, but the privacy is limited as the dividing walls don't enclose the rooms fully. The property is in average condition. Updates done cheaply and it shows in the functionality of things like blinds and doors. Great place but if you are looking for luxury perhaps aim higher. You are paying for the views (incredible, you won't be disappointed) and the location.

Pros: this place is all about the view. Mornings, evenings, any time of day this place provides incredible views of Waikiki. If you are staying on a Friday night there is a fire work show that all of Waikiki shows up for and you get to have it in your backyard. Cons: as exceptional as the views are outside, inside the apartment is very average. It is nice to have two bedrooms and two full baths with a washer and dryer, but the furniture should be a little nicer and the decor and the cleanliness needs a little improvement. I'm going off a thousand dollar a night price point and with that the expectations are a little higher. Small recommendations I would make. Create a small booklet of things guests should know ie.. trash dump collection pointe, recycling guidance, things you can and can not do.. basically all the information to refer to during the stay. Also that balcony needs pressure washing!Over all I would definitely recommend this place or would stay again if I could find it for a better rate.

We had a wonderful stay. Couldn't get enough of the view! Fun watching all the activity in the ocean and skies. Great place to stay with a baby who goes to bed early and naps.Just a couple small things to be aware of: 1. The two bedrooms are not fully separated (there is a tiny gap in the wall separating the two bedrooms through which you can hear everything. So not a lot of privacy between the two rooms.2. The blinds in the bedrooms don't work properly (you can't control how much the slats are bent), so light can be an issue for napping babies.3. The coffee maker is very small. We had to make two pots every day for 4 people. The pros far outweighed the cons though!

There were employees peering down onto my penthouse balcony daily. This is a non- smoking property, yet I i had stinky employees smoking cigarettes above my hand daily. There were drones spying around. The guest room window treatments were not in working order and we could not appreciate the view as advertised.

Lovely spotless 2-bedroom penthouse condo ideally located close to but not in the busy Waikiki strip. On bus routes for easy access to all of Oahu. Short walk to Hilton Lagoon, Magic Island beach, Ala Moana mall. The almost 360-degree view is magnificent. We have stayed at the Ilikai three times (using Alii Beach Rentals) and find it the perfect location for an Oahu vacation.

This condo was just as advertised! The deck and views are amazing! It was clean and just as pictured. The property management company was very responsive and got us what we needed when requested. The only issue we had was the blinds in both bedrooms so not open and close but I believe they are in the process of repairing those. Overall a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

This condo was just as advertised! The deck and views are amazing! It was clean and just as pictured. The property management company was very responsive and got us what we needed when requested. The only issue we had was the blinds in both bedrooms so not open and close but I believe they are in the process of repairing those. Access to the unit was simple. Location is great for those that want to walk to restaurants and other attractions. Overall, the unit was clean but the dishes and utensils could have used more attention as some were still dirty. This unit receives direct sun for most of the day which makes it EXTREMELY hot even with the AC running along with fans. The owner should invest in tinting the windows or adding UV blocking shades. Also, the beach facing shades were roller shades that didn’t have any way of rolling them up. It would have been nice being able to have the shades up to enjoy the view but the amount of heat generated by the direct sunlight made this impossible during the day.

This is THE unit you want at the Ilikai. All the way up to the penthouse, panoramic views, clean and shiny. We were close to the Friday fireworks, and the beach. Stay here if that’s how you like it.

The property wsa pretty clean, but had some melted ice cream in the freezer (cleaning company must have missed this).We also booked this property for the amazing view, but when we arrived, 2 of the 5 automatic blinds were broken and could not be raised. This severly affected our view.Very disappointed for the price of this rental. We had to ask for extra beach towels which were to be provided as well as hair dryers. They provided a very small coffee maker for a unit that would sleep 5-6 people. We had 5 adults and could not all get a cup of coffee from the one pot. The rental company did attend to our concerns very promptly. They did offer to bring a bigger coffee maker, but that did not end up happening.
