The Space:
From the 37th floor of Waikiki Banyan Tower 1, the Pacific stretches wide beyond Diamond Head, ocean light shifting through the day while steady trade winds drift through the space. It's the kind of view that makes waking up feel like an event - and with the beach just a block away, the rhythm of island life settles in quickly.
The space
This one-bedroom condo sits high above Waikiki, with ocean view and mountain view framing the living area, bedroom, and private lanai throughout the day. Large windows pull the scenery inside, and a window AC unit keeps the space comfortable year-round. The layout is open and easy to move through, designed for up to four guests.
Sleeping arrangements
The bedroom is separated from the living area by a sliding panel door and holds one queen-size bed and one full-size bed. The living room features a pull-out sleeper sofa, giving the space flexible sleeping options without feeling cramped. Cotton linens, extra pillows and blankets, room-darkening shades, and clothing storage via a closet and dresser are all provided.
Kitchen & dining
The fully equipped kitchen includes a Kenmore refrigerator, Frigidaire stainless steel electric stove, stainless steel oven, microwave, hot water kettle, drip coffee maker, blender, rice maker, toaster, and baking sheet. Cooking basics, dishes and silverware, wine glasses, and coffee are stocked and ready. A dining table seats four - an easy spot for a slow morning or a relaxed dinner after a day on the water.
Living area
The living space is set up for downtime between outings - comfortable seating, a 50-inch flat-screen Smart TV with standard cable, WiFi, and a dedicated workspace with a table for checking in on emails or mapping out the next day's plans. An Ethernet connection is also available.
Outdoor living
The private lanai brings the view right to you - ocean, Diamond Head, and open sky. Outdoor furniture and an outdoor dining area make it a natural spot for breezy mornings or easy evenings watching the light shift over Waikiki.
Building & facilities
Waikiki Banyan is located in the heart of Waikiki with shared beach access nearby and free resort access for guests. The building includes a free parking garage on premises for one vehicle, an EV charger (level 2, 220V), elevator access, shared BBQ grill (electric), sun loungers, shared outdoor pool, shared hot tubs, and shared sauna. Paid washer and dryer are available in laundry rooms on each floor. Ground-floor conveniences include a coffee shop and convenience store, and an outdoor playground is on site.
Beach & island essentials
Beach essentials are provided - beach towels, umbrella, beach blanket, and snorkeling gear - so days by the water are easy from the start. Rinse off and settle back in before heading out again or winding down for the evening.

The property has commanding views and is nicely remodeled. It can comfortably sleep 3-4. Two minor irritations: the lack of a dishwasher and the AC blasts loudly onto the balcony. But overall a good property and we'd consider staying again.

This unit has a beautiful direct view of Diamond Head with ocean view to the right. The unit is beside the laundry room which was a bonus for mid trip loads and away from the elevators, so not a noisy hallway. Location for us was perfect with the five minute walk to the beach. Plenty of parking (1 spot free with the unit) and also has an EV Charger. An over all good experience.

The room was as expected. Very close to laundry and garbage which was a plus for us. View was exquisite and we enjoyed the sunrise every morning! Our family of five barely fit, but we made it work! Would stay here again. Thank you!

Loved our stay! The unit was exactly as listed and pictured. Views to die for and a great value. Location was perfect for walking around Waikiki.
Couple notes I would say: we had 5 people (one on the pull out sofa) and when the doors are closed to the bedroom it gets pretty warm, AC doesnt make it to the room. Could also use bigger skillets for groups of more than 2. Blackout curtains would be a nice touch.
Overall 5 stars and we would definitely stay there again! Thanks for sharing your place!

This unit was cute and clean. It was a little smaller than I imagined but not cramped by any means. The views of the ocean and Diamond Head were spectacular. Great views of the morning sun peeking up, and a nice location to be able to walk to most places without a car. We rented a car and benefited from the free parking and get away to less crowded beaches. Wonderful trip. I would use Midway again!! <3

My family of five had a tremendous time staying at this location. The location is fantastic and provides easy access to everything you need in Honolulu (beach, downtown etc.). The view from the lanai is outstanding, and we greatly enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning over the distant mountains. This particular unit is on the TOP floor (37th) of this building, so the views don't get better from this location.
The unit is well appointed with the essentials. While it was small for a family of 5 with teenagers, it worked just great for us. We were barely in the room anyway. As an added benefit, the top floor of this building has ceilings that are higher than all other floors. So that made the space feel larger than it otherwise would have felt.
The beds and linens were great. My two teenage daughters had no complaints about the comfort of the sleeper sofa they shared. My wife and I would both say the quality of the bed was excellent.
The entire condo is certainly showing its age. This will not be comparable to top-shelf Honolulu resorts just a few blocks away. Hallways, elevators, the pool area and other public spaces feel a bit tired. But it is not unsightly or run-down either. The public spaces simply feel like an apartment complex, not a Hawaiian resort. So bear that in mind.
The unit does lack a dishwasher, which is a small drawback. We compensated by mostly using paper/plastic products to avoid washing many dishes on our vacation. :)
Also, the shower is a bit narrow on space. The shower curtain is very light and tends to blow in/stick to you during a shower. A heavier grade shower curtain or curved shower bar would grant more elbow room in the shower.
Other than those small drawbacks, we highly recommend this unit. The management communicated well, and we had no needs for them to address throughout our stay. If you book this unit at an affordable price point, it will likely be a stay you will find highly enjoyable! Very recommended!
