Wonderful stay at the Kauai Kailani. I'm originally from Kauai but left years ago to live on the mainland. Returning home to stay at a hotel makes you feel like a tourist, our unit at the Kauai Kailani felt like being home. Clean updated unit, it had everything we needed for our stay. Our two boys made good use of the bodyboards! The corner view of the pool and beach is great for waking up to the sunrise each day. Would definitely come back again.

3rd floor condo with a beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise. Centrally located, easy drive south to Poipu or north to Hanalei.
Sheila, owner of a local housekeeping business, was responsive to any need we had. We had an enjoyable week and would return to this condo again.
The only suggestion I have is that the lounges around the pool are pretty worn, hopefully the overall owners will replace them before we return again.

The only con is we are used to filtered water and the water filling the ice maker didn’t taste good to us, but we got by without ice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!. Both Jay & Sheila, the on-island contact, were very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. It is an end unit facing the ocean, and gets great air flow from both the front and side windows, so we never felt not having AC was an issue (we had warm temps of 88* everyday). Views from the lanai are great, and give daily opportunities to see the sunrise each day. The appliances all work as expected, with the exception of the Keurig, but having the regular drip coffee maker as backup made this a non-issue. The beds are all comfortable and no one in our party complained. Lots of storage in the dresser, closets and bank of drawers in the second bedroom. Having beach accessories and chairs available for our use was also very helpful. Overall was a very relaxing stay, and we would happily recommend this unit to others looking for accommodation on the east shore.

the place is located centrally in Kapaa and is oceanfront. the lull of the waves put us to sleep. pool was great, kitchen was very neat. only thing was that the bed in the master bedroom was not very comfortable. but would stay here again, thank you Jay and Sharyn

The condo is right on the beach! The balcony is the perfect spot to enjoy the waves with morning coffee. Every little detail is carefully thought through, with many thoughtful touches. We could not have asked for an easier check-in. On site support, Shiela, is a total hoot! She was around to help whenever there was a question. Jay is a joy to work with. Shopping is right across the street. It could not have been better in any way!

The unit had everything we needed and was in a perfect location next to shops, restaurants, and a path that runs next to the ocean. While the unit doesn’t have ac, there was a nice breeze 24x7. We would definitely stay here again. Sunrises from the balcony are amazing!

Very clean and beautiful location! Best ocean view of any of the condos on the property. The trees have grown up a lot since the pictures were taken and it looks nice.
Also different is the island in the kitchen- it is one level now and perfect for food prep whole socializing. They could use another stool or two there, but it was really great. I was worried the condo would be too small but for my husband and I and our adult daughters it was just fine.
There is a washer (with laundry soap), dryer, dishwasher, iron & board, and hair dryer.
There were also seals sleeping out front at least two of the days we were there.
We would come back to Jay and Sharon’s in a heartbeat!

Our room in Kapaa that we stayed in was perfect. It has a spectacular view of the sunrise and ocean beaches. Open ceiling with lots of light. Close to stores and lots of restaurants nearby. Clean and quiet. We will be returning.

We loved everything about this condo- cool breeze, location, epic sunrises, and amenities. It’s out of the busy main downtown area but close enough to walk the beachfront bike path to downtown, and there is a shopping center across the street with everything you need (grocery, shaved ice, ice cream, shopping). The location was a perfect jump off for day trips to Hanalei, Poipu and Waimea as well.
Super nicely updated, well stocked, and bonus beach toys made it 10/10! We would definitely come back.

We were very happy with Kauai Kailani unit A313. It's an end unit with a flight of stairs around the corner leading right to the beach and pool. The property is next to Oasis Restaurant (excellent food) and right across the street from Safeway, ABC store and a Ross.
The condo is well appointed from a library of books to a washing machine and dryer.
We loved watching the sunrise from our balcony in the morning!
We'd definitely stay again.

I used to stay at Kauai Kailani over 20 years ago and wanted to bring my kids. They are 9 and 11 and had the best time. Jay couldn't have been a better person to work with. The on-island manager Sheila was equally accommodating and extremely helpful with all of our questions. The condo has a nicely equipped kitchen with all of the basics you'd need: pots, pans, dishes, silverware, rice cooker, individual and pot coffee makers, plus much more. We utized the BBQ's a couple different nights as well. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean. It was nice having the washer and dryer in the unit. Some units do not have them so you would need to travel off property to a laundromat. There were plenty of beach toys, 2 body boards, beach chairs and snorkel equipment. The location was fantastic. The room is located on the end of the 3rd floor and gets a nice, consistent, breeze. It is right next to a flight of stairs, but there is also an elevator for those who may need it. There isn't air conditioning, but it really isn't necessary with the trade winds. It got chilly a couple of nights to where my wife had to put on sweats.
It is right across the street from Safeway, Ross, Subway, ABC, an ice cream shop and Wailua Shave Ice. All within wlaking distance. There is a beautiful view of the sunrise from the lanai. We did have to switch units for the last couple of nights and we were so sad we did. While the new unit was very nice, it just wasnt the same. The management company of the new unit was not nearly as hospitable or easy to work with. The next time we come back to Kauai we will most definitely try and stay here again, if it isn't booked!

We walked to stores and restaurants, and it is in a central location to all areas on the island. This particular unit is one of the best ones in the building, by being on the end/corner. Our stay at Jay's place was wonderful! One of our favorites was sitting on the lanai in the mornings and evenings to watch the surf and enjoy the tropical breezes. The unit was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed being able to use the beach gear. Jay was very good at responding quickly with our questions, and the Welcome Goodies were a fun treat. We hope to come back soon, Thank you!

Our first time to Kauai. Sunrises we’re amazing from the balcony, since the unit is a perfect corner unit steps from the ocean. Check in and check out were as breezy as the cross breezes we experienced while enjoying our afternoon cocktails on the perfectly situated balcony. Location was ideal with grocery store across the street, Costco about 15 minutes away, and Kapa’a town about a, very walkable, mile away. ONLY negative is the dated furniture, carpeting, and overall feel of the unit. If you can overlook those, which we QUICKLY did, you will love this place.

Drinking coffee every morning sitting on the balcony watching the ocean is the besy way to start the day. This location is great if you want to hit all the spots on Kauai, as you are less than an hour to pretty much everything. Great fit for our family of 4, the grounds were clean and well maintained. And as mentioned already, it's right on the water, wow is how we felt.

My stay here was awesome! The sound of the waves crashing all day and night, the beautiful views from the balcony, the constant breeze flowing through the house. All amazing. The main reason I rented this condo was for the full kitchen. I took my children on this trip and having the ability to cook dinner and breakfast most days was essential. On top of that the pool was right there so the kids had quick and easy access. The ocean was also a few steps away and we all loved that as well and would walk down to the beach often. The couple of issues I had with parking and the door to the condo, were handle quickly. I will be booking this condo for my next stay. Hopefully sooner than later.

Very easy rental process, excellent location, ocean views & sound, which was helpful to drown out the many roosters crowing. The condo was a good size, with plenty of utensils & other items necessary to cook, which can save you money. The washer and dryer in the unit was very convenient also. Would definitely stay here again.

If you're looking for a property that's clean with excellent views, a centralized location, and capable of providing you with a very relaxing vacation, this is it. The view from the Lanai is unmatched. The sunrises were beautiful and whales were very active. The owners have excellent communication.
It is a great place to stay while on Kauai.
