My wife and I booked this house for a 10 day stay. It’s was an amazing property which exceeded expectations. It is very central to all the restaurants and shops and also a very spacious and beautiful home. We hope to come back and stay again in the future. Richard was a great host.

Villa one is a very comfortable and beautiful home. Both master bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect. The living space is huge, which includes the dining area, with a full clear view of the golf course and ocean in the distance The kitchen has everything you might need to cook as little or as much as you'd like. The bar area is awesome. We are very picky about our cocktail and wine glasses and we found the barware to be perfect. The lanai was perfect for all meals! We especially enjoyed the short walk to watch the sunset from the beach. Thank you again for sharing villa one with us!

The property and grounds are amazing, the location convenient for excursions both north and south. I wish we could have extended the stay (it was offered, but our plans had already been made). Beautiful Lanai and perfect for sunset watching if we weren't already at the beach. May I ask what hole was out our back door?

This condo was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed for a spectacular Hawaiian vacation. The owners were very accommodating and provided great suggestions for things to do and places to go. The location was easy walking to the ocean, the pool, shops and restaurants. an ideal place with plenty of privacy for two couples to get away!

We rented Villa One for ten days in early June. Our group included Rita and me, and Rita’s son and his wife. The house was all that was advertised and more. The two master bedrooms with king beds were spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked and spices and condiments were neatly organized and labeled. There was a nice separate bar with a wine cooler refrigerator. The living area had ample seating that allowed us to binge watch season 3 of Ted Lasso on the big screen TV. As nice as the interior was, the highlight of the house to us was the large patio with several separate seating areas and incredible sunsets over the golf course view (with an ocean view in the distance,) The community pool was nice and warm and the hot tub was…hot! The owner, Richard was very helpful and considerate. All in all. We had a great time at Villa One and would definitely return on any future trips to the Big Island.

We were attending a conference at the Hilton, but were a bit late organizing and there were no rooms left there. And we ended up very thankful for that because otherwise we would not have stayed in the condo and had the great time we had. The condo is perfect, very completely furnished and supplied, and Richard is great to deal with and is very kind, conscientious and well-organized. We would definitely look to stay there again if we get to return to Waikoloa.

Villa 1 is clean, quiet, well kept and has lots of space for living and relaxing either indoors or out on the lanai. Richard and Marita have thought out and supplied all that you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
We especially enjoyed:

My wife and I took her best friend to the Big Island for 10 days and this condo was PERFECT for us! Our friend had never been to Hawai’i before and it was great to be able to show someone around our favorite place in the world AND to be able to come back to this quiet, beautiful, comfortable and extraordinarily well-stocked vacation home. Tho it is a condo and it is in the Waikoloa development (which is honestly too over built for my taste), this condo FEELS much more like a private home. I also didn’t feel like we were crunched in between a bunch of other units.
If you like to cook (as I do) this place is wonderful! Some properties we’ve rented didn’t even have salt and pepper. But this place has just about everything you might have in your own home: spices, many different oils, vinegars, baking supplies, and condiments in fridge. And when I offered to get more olive oil (as the bottle was low when we got there), Richard (owner) sent Jen (fabulous on island caretaker!) to bring us more! That has NEVER happened in a rental before!
Richard & Jen were very responsive and prompt in helping us resolve a tech issue w the TV and helped us find things we couldn’t find in the house book.
Honestly, I cannot say enough about our fantastic stay at Villa One at The Shores in Waikoloa! Mahalo nui nui, Richard, for sharing your wonderful home with us! We hope to be back soon!

Richard is an excellent and communicative host. The house is beautifully done and having two King-Suites makes it ideal for 2 couples who each want the “best room in the house”… meaning both rooms are equally premium.
Location is perfect, with huge patio looking out onto a nice large grassy area and then to the outing green of the nearby course.
Walking distance from a very private amazing little beach and natural wetlands between the Marriott and Hilton resorts.
We very much enjoyed our stay and appreciated the well-stocked kitchen pantry and fridge that had a lot of spices, oils, herbs, rice, coffee, and things like mayo, mustard, dressings, etc so we didn’t have to go buy $150 of that and leave it all behind.
The beach gear was also great to have eg chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, towels, etc. they even had a decent sized Igloo day cooler.
We look forward to our return.

Hours before my flight to Kona, I received news of a medical emergency that caused me to cancel our vacay and catch the next flight to Indianapolis to tend to my 92 yo mom. Obviously, I had no choice, but I was so looking forward what is clearly an outstanding property.
In handling all pre-vacay arrangements as well as my cancellation, Richard was very helpful, responsive and flexible. He is clearly a man of integrity and the ultimate professional - two the most important keys to any VRBO relationship. I look forward to rebooking with Richard as soon as we are able.

This unit is fantastic! The space is very large and open with wonderful natural lighting. It is decorated beautifully and has what feels like two primary bedroom suites. The balcony is massive and was great to spend time on with the cool breeze. We would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Accommodations were as advertised, excellent. The shaded lanai was a wonderful spot to enjoy reading, eating, watching Green #3 on the Beach Course, finding errant golf balls in the bushes, short walk to the ocean (need shoes - lava) that has a peek-a-boo view, overall a good place to let the cool breezes chase your cares away.
