5 STARS given for Kamaole!! The pictures provided in the listing were spot on. It was clean and tiding upon arrival. It was a two minute walk to the ocean. Early morning views of the ocean were great sitting on the lanai, you could also watch the beautiful sunset. Perfect location to dining, shopping and grocery store. The condo was perfect size for my family of 7, all adults. Dan was very helpful and responsive with questions I had before our trip. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back in the future. My daughter in law forgot her glasses and realized this after we had checked out. I contacted the office and they got me in contact with the Director, she was very nice and met us back at the condo several hours later to get the glasses. EXCELLENT customer service and leadership. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!

Had a great week here. Didn't run into any issues or problems. Short walk across the road to the beach 2-4 times a day. Pickleball, pool, ocean board rentals all on site. Would definitely visit again.

We were a group of 4 adults and 4 teens. The location of the condo was perfect. We had known about a few things like minimal supply of toilet paper so we bought a couple rolls at the ABC store down the street. We also brought along a few beach towels ourselves. The pool area is very nice. Grill and outdoor eating areas were super clean. Sunsets on the lanai were fantastic. Parking was no issue - the property allowed us to park our second car in the visitor space.
We were not expecting a rice cooker but there was one! There were no noisy neighbors and we all felt very safe at the property.
We would stay at this condo again!

First the resort: The resort is amazing. A five star location, across the street from fabulous beaches, close to great shops and restaurants, with really well kept grounds and amenities, including a pool lift! Check-in was easy with friendly and welcoming front-desk staff.
Second the condo: The condo has some outstanding features. It is ground floor and 3 bedrooms so 6 of us were able to stay very comfortably. Because 1 of us is in a wheelchair the ground floor was lovely - although there are spacious elevators in all the buildings. The view from the lanai is breathtaking - you look out over the beautiful grounds to the ocean - the colorful fountains make it even more breathtaking in the evening. The beds were all very comfortable for sleeping although the pull out couch was not great for sitting on so I would recommend only 6 people stay here. We also appreciated the heavy curtains and shutters on the windows - with daytime temperatures of 85 + degrees, keeping these closed helped us keep the condo cooler. The air conditioning in each room helped even more.
We called maintenance for a small issue with the fridge freezer - they were over in an hour and the problem was fixed in a couple of minutes. Other appliances worked fine (though we did not use the oven). However, there were only two hand towels in the condo (1 per bathroom) so more would have been very helpful, and better quality toilet paper would also be nice. Two more patio chairs for the lanai would help make this a great condo for six. Though the lanai is small, being ground floor there is room to move onto the grounds, and, given the view, it was the favorite spot for all of us to gather.
In terms of cleanliness, the 4 (as opposed to 5) stars is because we pulled out a baking pan that had never been used but never washed and because the chandelier above the table - while really unique - was completely covered in dust. Four stars for communication was because we requested a late checkout so that the person in a wheelchair could have some time to lay down before we caught our flight and we never received any response to our request.
In terms of accessibility there are a couple of things to note: First, the ground floor made it so easy to get in and out. Second, there is a wonderful large walk-in shower in the primary bedroom that fit a shower chair. However, door openings to both bathrooms are only about 24 inches so this made the shower quite inaccessible for the wheelchair.

The property is in a fantastic location, with wonderful amenities, and a splendid view. We had coffee every morning on the patio, looking out onto the garden and fountains. In the evening, we took advantage of the meticulously kept, communal barbecues, and the outdoor tables (be sure to reserve one at the front office, as they fill quickly!).
The condo is well laid-out, and easy to move through. The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils; but, there were no spices, oil, or any of the other basics that we’ve normally been provided, in other rentals. Additionally, there was nothing to clean the kitchen with, nor any hand soap to wash hands, while preparing meats, etc, and a lack of paper towels; so, we were forced to shop for those items ourselves.
In addition to a lack of basics in the kitchen, there were only 4 rolls of toilet paper for 6 adults over 10 days, which was clearly not enough. In the end, after communicating with the property manager, he kindly refunded us for our purchases, which was much appreciated. Ironically, the following day, we received and email from VRBO, stating that the place only comes with a bare few items. Had we had that, in advance of our arrival, the back-and-forth with Manager Dan would not have been necessary. We’ll know for next time!
Though the unit only comes with one parking spot, one can register a car at the front desk, for overnight parking in the visitor lot.
There are little kids’ toys, as well as beach chairs, in the outside locker; but, no body boards available. Rent those, if you need. The one beach umbrellas that is intact is quite small (for kids), while the larger of the two is broken, and requires some ingenuity to keep up.

One guest was bitten by centipede and ended up going to medical centre! no response from management! Safe did not work and needed a safecracker to open it at our cost-were told the battery was low and never replaced! $250 charge to guest! No note saying not to use safe! No response from management! Apparently reviews have been similar! Would not suggest renting this unit until improvements made by management company!

Nice property, great location. We had a long stay of roughly 10 days.
Some of the appliances (washer/dryer, bathroom fans) are getting very tired and as a result were very noisy, to the point where it was a nuisance.
More frustrating though was the lack of storage. The pantry is locked/not available and the limited cupboards are full of dishes. Meaning there is no place to put food that doesn't go in the fridge. It was a major pain when trying to manage the kitchen and food and trying to prevent it from overflowing into the condo.
Would stay again, but will look hard for a better deal than what we paid.

Loved this place but beware! They charge $25 per missing towel! And we were charge $108 for towels after we left (two were missing) but we double checked and triple checked to make sure the rest for there before we left. So when the charge came on my card I called the manager and asked why the charge was to much? And she said there were 4 towels missing! We had 5 different people check and count the towels before we left and we know for a fact that there were 6 out of the 8 towels there! She said that the maid had counted and that’s all there was and there was nothing she could do about it. So just know you might be charge no matter how many times you count the towels before you leave.

We had a great time at this property. Each room has its own air conditioning so you can set it where you're comfortable. There are tons of dishes, pots and pans etc, so easily accommodated our party of seven. TV's in every bedroom and living room so kids could watch what they wanted to see. Lots of games to platy. The condo was the perfect size and location for the eight of us…….4 adults and 4 children ages 4 to 9. Being on the ground floor was great! Our lanai faced the beach and beautiful grounds of the complex.
As far as the beach supplies go…..it was great to have a cooler, noodles, and beach chairs. All three of the umbrellas were broken when you tried to set them up….two for sure need replacing! There was a big boogie board, and we left a smaller one for future tenants.
There were great micro fiber beach towels for six of us. But, the towels in the condo were limited to one bath towel each and NO washcloths whatsoever. Also, there was only the original toilet roll in both bathrooms with no extras. With three adult females and four children, one per bathroom for a week is not sufficient. Just never expected to have to purchase toilet paper on vacation!! Same goes for the one roll of paper towels. Also, would be nice if there was at least one box of kleenex in the condo.
With a glass tabletop, I suggest that Windex or the like would be added to the supplies under the sink.
The above things would help make the vacation experience perfect……small items, but necessary.
Like I stated in the beginning of this message, the condo itself was great…….just could use some fine tuning to make vacation for those renting more omfortable during their stay.

Great location right across the street from the beach! We had beautiful views of sunrise and sunset! Our condo was perfect for all 8 of us! We were in 10-115 ground level. It was clean and the beds were comfortable! We would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this property. It was a very convenient location right across from the beach and Kihei is centrally located on the island which made it easy to get to everything we wanted to see. We were greeted with an unexpected bowl of fresh fruit, candy, and nuts on the dining room table (including a ready-to-eat pineapple). The grounds of this complex are beautiful and well-kept. The provided beach chairs were great! The a/c was heavenly! They also provide really nice microfiber beach towels. We found similar ones on Amazon and plan on buying some. As others have mentioned, there was some sand and dirt on the floor, but given all the benefits this home offers, this did not bother us. I think the vacuum that the cleaners are using just does not pick up sand very well. We have a beach house in CA and have learned that only certain vacuums will do a good job of picking up all the sand. We also found sand in some of the beds so would recommend checking them as soon as you arrive so you can throw the sandy sheets in the washer if this bothers you. I am guessing that someone overloaded the washing machine with too many sheets and sandy towels at one time which caused some sand to remain in the sheets. Overall, we had a great time and would not hesitate to stay here again!

Having stayed at Kam Sands many times, I can say that this is as good of a location as you can get. Far enough from the road that you only get a bit of road noise, close enough to be super convenient (especially for young families going to/from the beach) and oriented in such a was that if you can't run down to the beach for sunset, you can watch it from the lanai.
As others have said, the cleanliness on arrival was okay, but certainly not great or comparable to other units we've stayed in. (lots of cleaning product residue on the floor, and counters still sticky with sunscreen and soap etc) Could definitely have used a few more towels and cloths, and the screen door falls off the track nearly every time you open it. Better cleaning, some extra shower towels and cloths, and very minor repairs (screen door, floating flooring, dishwasher had a terrible smell between loads, etc.) would really go a long way to making the overall experience as good as the location.
Great AC system, nice to have mini splits in every room.
Communication with mgmt was consistent, though felt a little indifferent once we arrived. Mgmt resolved two minor issues within a day of being notified, which was appreciated.
We did advise about the cleaning, screen door, and dishwasher - even though they didn't offer to quickly remedy these during our stay, we indicated that we were okay and didn't need immediate attention.
Stellar location, perfect for families who need extra bed(s) that are much better than a pull out couch - a few minor improvements would make the place/stay perfect. Thanks for having us.

Wonderful place, great location, great view. Nice new furnishings. Great place for our family to stay, close to beach and other things to do. Only minor issues was a leak from the refrigerator that made the kitchen floor wet most of the time, I called management and they said they'd send someone to fix it, but it was never fixed during our staff. Also we were traveling with a disabled child in a wheelchair van and there are no accessible parking spaces on the property, we made it work but it had challenges. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

This is a great property for families! There is a pool, adult hot tub, kiddie hot tub, activities provided by the resort. The condo had a dishwasher, washing machine & dryer (very loud). The patio was fine, but small. They had 6 Tommy Bahama chairs which are great for the beach & umbrella, cooler &lots of sand toys. They also had swim wings for smaller kids. The condo was clean but could definitely use a “deep” clean. The beds were comfy, but the sheets probably need to be replaced (pilling and stains). I did like that they had coffee filters, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent &dishwasher detergent provided. The condo looks directly out to the ocean and we could see the whales from the patio.

3 bedroom condo is in a great location - easily walkable to most of the beaches and local restaurants/stores. Complex pool area is nice. Condo itself worked very well for 3 adult couples - plenty of privacy, plenty of towels, equipped kitchen and beach chairs etc were available for use. Kihei is pretty central, to other areas of Maui, and as we rented a car for our stay, the included parking spot was also a must for us. Would absolutely recommend this property.

This property is definitely in need of some work.
It wasn't very clean when we arrived and we spent a considerable amount of time (particularly in the kitchen) cleaning all of the surfaces. The freezer on the fridge was broken. It was quickly repaired only to not function again the next day. Repairman never returned again. We couldn't use it for the duration of our stay. All 3 boogie boards were found broken in half. Why even bother having them? Coffee maker was awful and should be garbaged. Chairs on the lanai are rusting and in very sad shape including the cushions. Flooring is buckling up in places in the living area. Towels and linens are very poor quality and old. Toilet seat in second bathroom was cracked. Drier makes a super loud sound when running. It needs to be replaced or repaired.
This is all very unfortunate because the property is in a fantastic location with beautiful grounds.

Fantastic! The view from patio is unobstructed and has a beautiful grassy area. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were there over Thanksgiving and had a nice quantity of pots and pans and serving dishes. Newer washer and dryer with large capacity. We used all three sleeping areas. Sound proofing is good in the regular bedrooms (we had a 2 year old along with us and could not hear her). Living area was plenty big for our party of 7, we even hosted Thanksgiving and had 14 people inside. (There were enough plates and silverware for all). I loved the large dining table. There were only 4 bath towels when we checked in but easily got more from the condo office. Lovely vacation and definitely would return.

Amazing views, beds are very comfortable and the location is awesome. Condo grounds are beautiful and the pool area is spacious. We had great communication upfront with the owners, however it lagged when we had a request on site. The condo is advertised to sleep 8 and additional towels were needed and eventually provided. We had a great stay.

We had a great stay at Kamaole Sands! There were 7 of us and it was just the right amount of space for all of us. Dan was quick to respond with questions pre trip and while we were there. The property grounds were lovely and everything well maintained. Great location and right across from the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

The condo was good effect for our family! Very clean! We loved the fresh flowers, fruit and coffee! The location was perfect for exploring around Maui! I highly recommend!

Great place for family gathering. Close to beach and some shops.
Only thing I would have liked to have known there was no shampoo, body soap or soap. But overall it was a fabulous place to stay.

We've stayed at several 3-BR units at Kamaole Sands, and this has been our favorite so far. Great location with a nice view off the lanai. We would stay in this unit again.
