We arrived the day of the firestorm. It was WINDY coconuts were falling on the road. We had no electricity or communication and worst no propane (we heard that they've been out of propane for 2 wks) residents were preparing their food going down to the BBQ to find out there was no way to cook their food- We had to toss eggs & shrimp etc. Thankfully Latino mkt opened Wednesday and we got 2 cans of bean, tortilla, cheese to make a burrito which was our only meal on Wed & Thurs - We weren't able to do any of the tourist things & understandably not at no fault of Hale Kai. Don the Mgr? at the condos was as helpful as he could be. The radio kept saying for road conditions go to but that was impossible with NO internet. Don would pass on what he heard. We got a flight out on Friday morning. So please take this into consideration when you read my answers to the question. We weren't able to go anywhere. Luckily the people where nice & the place/view was comforting. I'm sure any other time I'd give it a 5 star....maybe 4 because the propane would have help numerous guest.

Experience always good however 5 of our days really rained which cancelled many plans. Comfortable and clean and perfect location. Shower could be a lot hotter in the water dept. only fault. Maybe it was just a issue that week. Bed and linen super nice and extra blankets and pillows a plus. We own a beach rental in Cali so love to hear about the comfort aspects from our guess. Will be back. Mahalo.

We stayed for a week and a half at Hale Kai 215 in August 2022. The condo was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated. The kitchen has all the equipment/utensils you need. Even the pull out couch was comfortable to sleep on! The lanai and view is incredible. You're steps from the ocean, sunset side and the pool was a good size and well maintained. Turtles can frequently be seen playing the the waves from the pool deck. We have stayed a few times in Honokawai (this are of Maui) and love it. There's a great little organic market across the street (try the banana bread, pineapple salsa and Lulu koi cream cheese), a fish market a couple blocks away, a food truck area 5 mins walk away etc. Many choices of beaches nearby and lovely historic Lahaina.

Easy check in. Incredible stay - Nothing but good things to say about Hale Kai #215. Property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this unit to anyone. The undisputed winner in our world were the beaches of Maui. Rent a car and hit as many as you can - you won't be sorry. The Luau's were close and the one we attended was incredible. The real gem was the Lenai at this unit - great view morning and at sunset. We definitely plan on going back!

Hale Kai is a great quiet complex right on the ocean. We loved morning coffees on the lanai and easy proximity to anywhere you wanted to go. Overall 10! And the turtles and snorkeliing e=right out front were great too

We started coming over in the late 80s and we haven’t been there for about 10 years. It was fun to come back to see the condos. It’s amazing nothing has really changed and it still has a great feeling that we used to enjoy. There are some things that could’ve been updated and we need to think about that the next time we come over.

Pretty awesome. The view is outstanding. The condos are located right next door to a beach park, which we used to hang out, snorkel and watch the turtles swim by. The pool was clean and quite for our stay. The lack of air conditioning was no problem, just open the louvers and the ocean air does the job. It gets hot between 2-5 pm so use the outdoor screen on your porch to keep the heat out. This unit was well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Comfy bed, great kitchen, clean bathroom. Every time we looked around for something we needed, we found it! Cleaning supplies, broom, vacuum, extra pillows, etc. Only caveat; the bedroom window is located by the parking lot and road which made for noisy evenings and mornings. Other than that, it was a terrific stay! Thanks!

We enjoyed a full anniversary week in Hale Kai #215. The location was perfect, just above the pool with a great ocean view. Amazing sunsets from the Lanai each evening. Weather was a bit warm and so we were grateful for two portable oscillating fans in the unit. The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked with dishes, etc. Beach umbrellas and chairs were available in the closet. Also, we used the outdoor bbq. Residents and guests very friendly. Close to park, shopping, The Fish Market and Farmers Market. We hope to return.

It was quite frustrating initially because some white box on the wall eventually turned to control the lights in living room and kitchen; because I could see I couldn’t turn on the stove top. I checked the info book for help or information; Nothing! I had to wait until morning and get some help by other residents- otherwise ok! Please put details for 215 kitchen and lights in you room info book. Thank you

We spent a week in unit 215 in March 2019. The condo was spacious, clean and well-appointed. The expansive view and sounds of the ocean made for a great escape. We enjoyed the little beach adjoining the condo complex where green sea turtles often came up in the afternoon to bask in the sun . Great location near shopping and restaurants, some within walking distance. Valerie at the front desk was very helpful. We have already made reservations to return next year.

Just finished a 1 week stay at Hale Kai in unit #215. This was a sisters trip with our husbands and we each had our own unit. Unit was clean and was well stocked with all the kitchen items you needed for meal times. Beach towels and bathroom towels were available for our use and the king size bed with quality sheets made for a comfy night sleep. We love the low-vibe feeling of this complex with its many residents and guest with extended stays. Sunset provided a get together at poolside every evening for conch blowing. The pool was perfect size, never crowded but a bit chilly due to the cool weather Maui was experiencing. Valerie in the office continues to be an awesome asset to the property answering all questions, making recommendations for restaurants and outings and even fixed our TV when the cable went out! The property is lovely with views of Lanai and Molokai, whales, and an occasional sea turtle. We love this property and hope to visit again soon! We walked the neighborhood every morning and enjoyed the Farmers Market, Bad *** Coffee, the food service at ABC store, Ohana Taco's and the Fish Market.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in unit 215 for 8 nights in December 2018. We were especially pleased with the perfectly appointed kitchen, large comfy bed, and gorgeous shower perfect for cleaning up after a day at the beach. The location of this complex is ideal, we swam with turtles right in front of our condo! Great restaurants, grocery stores, and everything you may need are moments away. Our only suggestion would be a deep cleaning. Don’t get me wrong, the unit is clean, but a good scrub in the corners with a little elbow grease would make this spot that much more amazing.

Perfect 10 day get away. Condo had everything, updates since we stayed a few years ago are well done and most appreciated.Nice to have tile flooring. So happy my grandparents discovered Hale Kai in 1978, we love coming back to this complex. You are within walking distance to everything and there is a beach right next door. We will be back.
