Best VRBO stay we have ever had! Location is everything in Maui and this one has it all with the views on Kaanapali Beach! My family had the time of our lives and could not be happier with this property. Jim has everything you would need from beach umbrellas and chairs to bbq utensils to a washer and dryer, just like living at home! You wont be disappointed in this booking. Slept my family of 5 very well in paradise!

This unit on the 11th floor of the south whaler tower is perfect for a peaceful Maui vacation. The rooms and deck are well organized with nice furnishings and everything you need for relaxing inside or on the beach. Itâs perfectly located for all Maui activities and literally a 25 step walk to the beach. All amenities were super easy to use including the well outfitted gym. Weâll certainly stay here again for our next visit to Maui.

We've stayed at the Whaler quite a few times and this was by far our favorite unit! Jim,the owner, has thought of pretty much everything and we really loved the little touches like dimmer switches for all of the lights! The bed was extra comfortable and we loved the high top table and chairs on the lanai, providing unobstructed views! And the views are gorgeous, with the ocean to the front and the mountains to the back! We were here celebrating our son and daughter-in-law's first Anniversary and while they had rented a condo at the Whaler as well, they thought this rental was really beautiful and well appointed! We also appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit. The location to everything Kaanapali has to offer is excellent and the beach access is perfect! We would definitely rent from Jim again!

The unit was just as described- renovated, well equipped, and a great location.
The area is very convenient. A short walk to Whalers Village and short drive to Lahaina. The pool is nice but gets crowded. The fitness room was adequate.
The only down-side is the parking garage gets crowded at night and we had to park by the tennis courts which wasn't ideal. Otherwise a great place to stay and make your home base on Maui.

This is a beautiful place to stay, very well appointed. Everything you need is here. The bed is very comfortable as is the couch, we did not sleep on the pull out. The kitchen has very nice pots, pans, silverware and your choice of coffee pots. Could use a Pyrex to make brownies đ. The view is beautiful, you can see all the way to black rock. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone. P.S. the two bathrooms are nice too!

Really expected the online to be overstated but was sooo wrong! This rental was perfect for our family. The check in was easy, the grounds were immaculate, and our condo was exactly as described. The view was awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for our âstuffâ. We would DEFINITELY stay here again! (One caveat- both tubs are deep. It might be hard for someone less mobile to get in/out and would be tough to kneel and bathe a small child. Was no problem for us but worth saying out loud since I tend to read everything I can before renting). Again we rented in this particular spot bc of the location. We would go back for the condo/grounds etc. It was truly so magical! Plus the location is amazing with the boardwalk, beach, black rock snorkeling, shopping, restaurantsââI could go on and on. Donât hesitate. This place is super!!!

Gorgeous condo. Gorgeous views from the lanai. We are no strangers to VRBO stays, and this property is the best we've ever stayed in. A big claim, I know, but the owner, Jim, has made sure it's a first-class experience: fully-outfitted kitchen; everything new and in sparkling condition; beautiful furnishings; beach gear ... even plush towels in the bathrooms. Unlike other VRBO owners who overlook the small details and little amenities--an annoying black mark for us--not Jim! It was a real joy to stay here.

Loved our stay. Condo was beautifully decorated & organized. It was like staying at a friends place. Appreciate how well stocked for cleaning products the condo was. Clear instructions on departure process. A phone list if we needed any assistance. The cleaning crew must be amazing even the silverware drawer was perfectly organized. I would definitely stay here again.

Whalers is the most perfect beach location and this property of Jimâs is so nice and beautiful. Almost the top floor and sunset views from the deck. All the beach toys you would need and a very clean spacious place with all the consciences of home. Beach is right there and you can hear the waves from the deck. Or sit in the AC and cool off. Pool was beautiful and could watch sunset from there. We had our 4 month old son and it was so easy to move him on and off the beach to the condo that it made our first family trip so easy and special. Truly a magical spot and we are so thankful for getting to stay here and we will most certainly be back. Thanks again Jim

Our condo was perfect for a relaxing get-away. The location cannot be beat, right on Kaanapali Beach and next door to the Whaler Village, and right on a wonderful walking trail. The condo has a beautiful views, was very well appointed, has been upgraded in the last few years and is meticulously maintained. The master bed was very comfortable, and although we didn't try it, even the murphy bed looked comfortable, not to mention a cool piece of furniture! Loved that it had it's own washer & dryer in the unit. The kitchen is beautiful, like the pictures, and so is the rest of the place. I'd highly recommend it!

We loved room 1170. It is a very nice room with great views of the beach and ocean. The Murphy bed is great. The pull out sofa sleeper is a bit sad but I donât know many that are comfortable. The location of the Whaler is right in the heart of Kaanapali and is steps from the Whalers Village where there are several restaurants and great shopping. This is a great place to enjoy Maui!

The property is exactly as shown. All the minimum amenities, a beautiful view, plenty of space, and a great location to shopping, dining, and other beaches on the island (Kapalua Bay, Honolulu Bay, DT Fleming, Slaughterhouse) Resort staff we very nice and helpful too! We enjoy the beach and The Whaler had the best beach on Kaanapali, in our opinion. Other resorts either had no beach at all or a steep downgrade to the water. Our kids loved the pool and my husband loved the gym & spa. Resort supplies beach chairs, unit was also equipped with them. Fresh beach towels whenever we wanted them was nice too! You can rent boogie boards, etc⌠from resort too, but we bought some and left them there for the next guests to enjoy. Jim was super to work with, quick responses and had all the right answers. We were beyond taken care of and had an amazing vacation. Highly recommend this resort and unit!!
COVID restrictions made some travelers less than friendly/down right rude to us or others, but the locals working everywhere we went were just as friendly and welcoming as ever. Well done Hawaii!

Property was great and as described. Great location (right beside Whaler Shopping Village). Views from the balcony were amazing and the Whaler property had all the amenities we needed. The room was very cozy and our little girl really enjoyed crawling around on the new and very soft carpet flooring. I would definitely recommend for a family and would stay here again.

This condo is everything plus more! We felt right at home during our two weeks stay. The master bedroom bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on! The condo was very clean, neat and well stocked with everything we needed for our entire stay. Jim is a wonderful person to book with! We look forward to visiting again soon and would highly recommend The Whaler condo.

Our first time in Maui with our 3 kids, and it was exactly what we were looking for! The condo is exactly as described and the location is perfect. Loved the little things you donât get with a hotel- washer/dryer, kitchen, beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, boogie boards and even a soft ice chest to carry lunch/drinks to the beach. The condo was beautiful and the view even better. Canât wait to get back.

We rented from Jim in 2019, and had a great experience. This time was no different. The condo was immaculate, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The master bed was very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean. This unit faces the quiet inner courtyard, and the views from the 11th floor were absolutely amazing! We could also see Black Rock. Kaanapali Beach is one of our favorites, and we will definitely return.

This rental has everything you want and need AND MORE for a visit to Maui. The accommodations are perfect. The lobby staff are friendly. The washer and dryer in the condo are so convenient. The location couldnât be better - right next to the Whaler Village shops! The view is stunning. Even the ice maker in the freezer is a 10. Thank you to our hosts!

I have visited Maui at least a dozen times in the past, usually staying at some of the nicest resorts, and I must say, this has been my favorite experience ever.
Although the pictures are great of the condo , in person the space is even more cozy and beautiful .
The layout is wonderful and the kitchen amenities are everything a foodie could ask for!
We enjoyed many sunsets from the balcony spotting several breath taking rainbows ( even 1 double one)
The master bedroom was amazing, and I really enjoyed the over sized bathtub.
And lastly, and certainly not least, the gym facility on property was top notch , and had everything and more one could ever ask for to get a great workout!
Jim, is a delightful, accommodating , and easy going host, who you can tell from the moment you speak with him, just wants to create ease around your entire vacation experience.
I loved this place so much, I've already rebooked for January!

A family of four was very comfortable in this one bedroom home away from home. Better master bed than at home and the Murphy bed was very comfortable for our teenage son. The pull out couch was a little uncomfortable according to our 23 old daughter, but was manageable. One suggestion would be to provide more dinner plates rather than just five because we were finding we needed to do the dishes after every meal. Jim was very responsive to the questions we had, so yes, we plan to use his condos again!

I've stayed at the Whaler numerous times and this unit was by far the nicest! Close to everything and within walking distance - swimming, shopping, restaurants and even an ABC store! Great ocean views and very relaxing. All the pool/beach toys were already there waiting for us to use. Beautiful ocean view and nice large lanai. By the way, the little chocolate candies were an extra special treat! Planning our next trip and will contact Jim Doan - he was great to work with!

This is a beautiful unit with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. The double balcony is large, with stunning views. It was the perfect place to enjoy coffee and early morning sun and also a welcome shaded refuge in the afternoon to enjoy a cocktail. The bed was comfortable and having two bathrooms was very convenient. Jim was very quick to respond to our email questions. This was a much better option than the Maui resorts that we have stayed at before. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone coming to Maui.

We have been to Maui many times. This unit is by far the best, most beautiful, fully equipped condo that we have stayed in. Beautiful view, of the ocean with the sound putting us to sleep each night, fully equipped kitchen, a very comfortable bedroom , the whole unit wonderfully furnish.all at a very reasonable price. We really enjoyed this stay and will undoubtedly want to stay here again.

Condo perfectly slept my family of four....the view is stunning, the overall location is perfect, the snorkeling right at black rock was legendary, the condo was tastefully furnished and had everything we needed and then some, the staff was extremely professional, and the koi pond was a favorite spot to stand and gaze. Just got back from a 7 night stay (late August 2016). Was there with my wife and 2 kids (ages 10 and 8). Condo was everything we had hoped for. Very clean and comfortable with all of the "tools" we needed. Separate beds for the kids (sleeper sofa and Murphy bed) along with the King bed in the master, which were all very comfortable. Washer and dryer in unit was a great feature as well (less packing required!). The Whaler facility is also clean with nice amenities and friendly employees. They were re-doing the lobby when we were there so it should look even better when finished in a few months. Finally, the owner was a pleasure to work with - very responsive before and during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit to our friends and family and hope to be back ourselves!!
