We had a very nice stay at this property. The view was spectacular and we really enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the evening watching the surf and sunset with a cold beverage at the end of our long days of exploring. Only thing to mention is that there is a bit of noise from the main street overnight while trying to sleep. But we would still start again if in Kauai on another trip. Thanks for the nice stay.

We rented this unit and our daughter and her fiance were in the other one. We loved hanging out on the lanai where we watched seals and a turtle swimming right below us. We even watched a fisherman bring in (and then release) a shark. Walks on the beach and malsados right across the street in the mornings. Can’t wait to come back

We stayed here for about 10 days, and it was absolutely wonderful. The condo was clean, updated, stocked with all the basics, and very comfortable.
The view from the balcony was incredible. We didn't want to leave to go home.
It was just a short walk to the beach, and close to lots of restaurants and shops.
Check-in and out was easy, and communication with the host was great. I'd definitely recommend this space, and would stay here again in the future.

The surroundings outside of the complex were under construction which had nothing to do with Shayne’s condo. The condo came exactly as stated except for the Espresso Machine, which I’m sure I wouldn’t have known how to operate anyway. The coffee pot however was great! Great central location as far as getting to each end (north west/south west) of the island.

This was the perfect place to stay for our honeymoon on Kauai! The property is perfectly located and has shops, restaurants, beaches and hikes within walking distance which we took full advantage of. The building also has a lovely pool and BBQ area which we enjoyed.
The apartment was perfect for us! It was very clean and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need for home cooking, binoculars for watching surfers and dolphins off the balcony (we saw a pod of dolphins on two different mornings!) And beach chairs and accessories to make those beach days more comfortable.
We loved our stay and highly recommend it for your stay as well!

We have stayed at this property nine times and this condo complex is the reason we come back. It is a great location and provides with an option to go 45-50 minutes to either end of the island. The pool is amazing for leisurely wading and the BBQ’s are new and fantastic. The condo could invest in plastic plates, BBQ tongs and a couple more glasses (2 provided) for the BBQ area as glass is not permitted obviously. The condo could also use Tupperware containers which we ended up purchasing and leaving for future guests and an umbrella for the beach. Would be nice. We bought one and gifted it to someone at the end of our stay. The only other negative were the sheets which would not stay on the bed as the elastics were shot, though the bed was nice and firm. We spoke with Shayne and he suggested using the other set which were nearly as bad and didn’t sleep through a single night without the sheets coming off the corners. The positives are that the condo gets a great through breeze and the AC in the bedroom is outstanding. The kitchen is stocked with adequate pots and pans along with dinnerware and utensils. The bathroom shower, decent towels and two sinks is convenient. The barstools and table on the lanai are outstanding with the oceanfront view but one stool was damaged at the time of arrival leaving three chairs which was fine as we were two people for the majority of our three plus week stay. Shayne was easy to deal with and we would consider his condo in the future.

This unit was well maintained with beautiful grounds. This was our very first VRBO Bookking and were not sure how it all worked, but was a very good first experience. Everything you would need for your stay was there, just missing paper towels. Shayne was so very nice, even with our little minor questions he responded quickly and was immediately helpful. This property is in top notch shape with an excellent resident manager. We were able to cook most of our meals (from locally purchased food) in the well appointed kitchen. Because it is about halfway from both the south and north coasts, it was perfect for making half-day and full-day trips both directions. Our contact Shayne Jacobs had excellent recommendations for where to buy food, dine, and recreate. He was available by phone, text and email just as soon as we needed him. We loved being right on the beach and listening to the waves.

This condo was exactly what we were looking for. All that you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. We ate all of our meals, including morning coffee on the lanai, watching various activities on the beach below. The kitchen is well stocked which is always a plus. Everything was clean including the furniture and appliances. The bed is very comfortable, on the firm side, but that is perfect for us. Beach items like towels and chairs were great as well.
I think the best part of this condo is the
location. We visited every side of the island and never felt that it was a long drive. We were close to beaches and sightseeing when we wanted to stick close to home.
Shayne's welcome letter provided a ton of information about things to do and see and restaurants to try which was very helpful. He was quick to respond to our questions.
Check in was a breeze as all we had to do was fill out a form for parking and the pass was delivered to us the next day.
All in all we had a great time mostly thanks to the ease and location of this property and its owner. Mahalo Shayne.

We loved our stay at the Wailua Bay View Apartments. It is a great starting place for anywhere on the island. We especially loved watching the sunrise from the beach just steps away from the apartment and walking down to the shops at the Coconut Marketplace. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a wonderful place. The only critique I have is the fitted sheet kept sliding off, and the toilet slowly runs, but other than that everything was great. Thanks!

The view was amazing and it was extremely comfortable and clean. The location is ideal for traveling the island and it was less that 10 minutes to a terrific public golf course and the airport. We spent 8 nights there and enjoyed it tremendously . Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Island.

The property was beautiful and clean, just as it looks in the online pictures. Gorgeous views. Shayne was great to communicate with and was quick to respond to our messages to him. The property was situated nicely to venture to all sides of the island. My only complaint was the traffic noise. The property is situated right on the main road and I live in the country so it was hard to get used to. If you are from a city, you may not even notice it. The property is about a 10 to 15 min drive to the airport. Our flight was delayed and we didn't land until 230 in the morning. It was fantastic that it was so handy as we were exhausted and did not have far to go. Also it is not in the flight path for the airport so you have the convenience but not the plane noise. We would stay here again.

Wow! As we entered, we were drawn to the incredible view and sounds of the ocean! There was also a subtle sound of music! This condo was beautiful, neat, and clean. The kitchen was perfect! The pool was very inviting! We couldn't have chosen a better location to stay as we were basically in the middle of Kauai! The property manager, Mark, was on site and met us as we arrived. He was very kind and said to let him know if we needed anything. We will definitely return!

Overall it is a great place. It is clean and comfortable. And I like the location. My problems were with the humidity and stairs. So if you are here in September you will be uncomfortable, but the pool is very nice. Also went to the beach at Lydgate Park. And there is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom that works really well. And it is mentioned that it is not wheel chair accessible. My husband started having some issues with his legs so the stairs were a bit of an issue. Would be great of there were an easier way to get luggage in and out. Again these were my personal issues. Is you can handle stairs and are there when it is a bit cooler, it is a great place. Otherwise I would recommend this condo.

I stayed in the bedroom and my teenage son slept on the pullout sofa, he enjoyed the big tv in the evenings. We went to the north shore and the west shore twice each and I was very happy to be staying about halfway between them both. We were close to Wailua, Kapa'a and Koloa; must go to Java Kai in Kapa'a for coffee and Wailua Shave Ice. The Lava Lava Beach Club restaurant was awesome and within walking distance. The condo was very nice, very clean, and had a well appointed kitchen, and there was plenty of parking. You can see and hear the ocean and walk down to the beach; I loved having breakfast on the balcony. If you want a central place to stay while you explore the island, I highly recommend this rental!

My friend and I had a great stay here. I can't think of one thing we needed while we were there. Beautiful view of the beach, clean, stocked well. The only thing I would add is to maybe leave more laundry soap. We were washing towels and wet clothes alot. We forgot to grab more on last day but I like to make sure the towels are washed and sheets are started for the housekeeper. Absolutely no biggie but might be a help.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at wailua bay view. Everything was just as described in the listing, and the host Shayne answered my questions. As noted in other reviews, there are chickens and roosters around this building, but I sleep with earplugs so I didn’t notice. We saw chickens and roosters on every road, mountain, and beach across the whole island so I think the noise would probably be a part of any accommodation on Kauai.

It was our first time to Kauai, and our family was happy with such a centrally located condo that allowed us to explore the island (1-1.5 hr drive to the farthest points). Clean and comfortable place, nicely decorated, stocked with all the basics for cooking, laundry, beach, etc. We did not use AC in December, a pleasant breeze from having the balcony door and shutter-style windows open kept the condo cool. You hear wild roosters through the night which we did not mind, but light sleepers may want to bring ear plugs. Watching sunrise from the lanai while sipping morning coffee was our daily entertainment. By the way, there is a bakery cafe just across the street with delicious banana and guava bread. Shayne was easy to work with and very responsive. We had a wonderful time and would definitely consider staying at this condo next time.

Kinipopo Shopping Center across the street: Papaya Bakery and Korean Bar-B-Q.
Nearby Coconut Marketplace: Chicken in a Barrel, Coconut Thai & Chinese Cuisine., and farmers market (Thursday morning).

For shaved ice: Here Fat General Store (near Pono Market).
Lava Lava Club restaurant & bar with live music is within a short walk from the condo.
To rent snorkel equipment, including flotation devices, check out Boss Frog's. In December, we were able to snorkel and swim with sea turtles at Lawai Beach (another Boss Frog's location is right there), Anini Beach, and Salt Pond Beach.

We had a great three day stay at Shayne’s property in Kauai. The kitchen has everything you could need for a comfortable stay in Kauai. We slept in the living room on the pull out bed to awaken to the beautiful ocean view and the sound of the waves. Close to the airport, easy parking, clean pool, beach access (though we spent most of our time roaming around Kauai!), and lots of restaurants nearby. It’s a bit of a trek from the north and west shores but just depends on what you’re prioritizing. We still explored both the north and west easily! Would definitely recommend staying here during your time in Kauai!!

The unit is recently remodeled, clean and great view of the bay. There is also views of the road but wasn’t horrible. Pool area is nice and a couple BBQs if you want to cook in.
