My family and I stayed at Jim’s unit at the Whalers. Such a beautiful place. Despite it being a difficult stay as we were there during the Lahaina wildfires tragedy, we appreciated how the resort managed the situation. Jim was helpful and always responsive. We had a fabulous time in Kaanapali, Maui. This condominium was in a fabulous location, right next to Whaler's village. Lots of shopping and great restaurants nearby and a fabulous place to snorkel at Black rock!!
The view of the beach and ocean was wonderful and we were so happy with our stay. The owner was always so quick to reply to emails as well. Mahalo!

6 of us stayed here comfortably this week! Property and unit spotless, plenty of gear for beach, cooking. Restaurants and shopping within a stones throw. Beach and water gorgeous and safe. Would stay again in heartbeat. Mahalo Jim!

Great location on the beach, easy walk to some great restaurants and shopping. Had coffee every morning on the balcony overlooking the ocean, even saw whales from there! Staff were all very friendly. Will definitely rebook in the future.

Our second stay at another one of our host, Jim's Whaler units. The view, interior, cleanliness and overall accommodations were once again 5 stars! Our family has returned for our 18th year to Maui and we can’t get enough of this magical place. The Whaler was perfect for our family of four with college kiddos that did not have to share a bed. Lots of moving room in the unit, a full kitchen for eating in and an amazing balcony where we enjoyed breakfast and sunsets. I would recommend Jim Doan and his property for your stay - a very organized process, straight forward and no surprises. We will be back. Mahalo!

This 1BR condo had an amazing amount of space for our family of 5, which includes 3 adult children. With 2 pullouts and a day bed, on top of the main bedroom… all of our kids had their own bed to sleep on. The views from the lanai were wonderful, with sight lines to the volcano and the ocean. We enjoyed having a clear view down the Kaanapali beach, all the way to Lahaina. Having an in-unit washer/dryer was fantastic to wash swimwear and beach clothes, and we really appreciated the extra sink/mirror in the laundry room that the kids used. Overall, the unit exceeded our expectations.

This unit is just as described. Room for a small family with a clever and comfy Murphy bed in addition to a sofa sleeper in the living room. Huge balcony, close to everything, and anything you needed for a comfortable stay.

Jim’s place is beautifully decorated and stocked with kitchen supplies, plenty of towels, washer/dryer and extra conveniences like hairdryer and basic toiletries. We couldn’t get over the breathtaking views from the balcony—crystal blue ocean dotted with boats under a colorful sky to the right and rugged mountains under rainbowed skies to the left. Our stay was comfortable and quiet and conveniently located right on the beach and adjacent to the plethora of shops and restaurants at the Whaling Village complex. Of additional note-all of the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers.

Everything about this place was great! We’re a family of 5 with 3 boys. The boys were all able to stay in the living room with separate beds. Location is great, right next to Whaler Village (restaurants, shops) and a short walk down to Black Rock. View from balcony is absolutely beautiful. We re received quick/concise communication from the owner Jim. Would definitely rent this again.

This is the most beautiful place and setting we have ever stayed in! Everything was perfect, from the unit it self to the view and the location. The people that worked at The Whaler were so nice and helpful. And the unit has everything you need. Honestly if we were not out at the pool or beach we were on the Lanai!

Jim's condo at The Whaler is so beautiful and as decribed. The view was incredible and the condo was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Check in was easy and communication with Jim was a breeze. When we come back to Maui, we're definitely staying here again!

Location, location, location!
We have teenagers and this location is perfect for them. From the endless beach, snorkeling at black rock, body surfing out in front of the condo, shopping right next door, and a.variety of restaurants for breakfast lunch or dinner. The views include the beautiful mountains, evening sunsets,, and of coarse the ocean. Our family loves this place.

You cannot go wrong when selecting #1059 at the Whaler! The property made for a perfect 10 day stay, a true “home away from home”! Jim, the owner, communicated from the very start, answering all of my annoying questions lol, and even picked up the phone about one of my questions. He also shared tips, ideas and places to visit while there. It is a large, clean unit right in the heart of Kaanapali. Beautiful beach right out front, with restaurants and shops next door. The view from the condo is breathtaking!! We had everything we needed and more! Thank you Jim for a wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come back! I highly suggest booking with Jim at the Whaler. The stay in Maui was lovely. The condo was perfect and as it was described. Very clean and everything we needed was here. The only thing that I would mention to others, that might be looking for a quiet morning, is that being next to whalers village (although wonderful and so convenient, ) has morning activity of maintenance trucks and or delivery trucks and can be noisy. . Also, you notice their roof top air-conditioning units running all the time. . But when you’re out and about or gazing at the ocean , you certainly don’t notice as much. . The views are outstanding! Beautiful condo!

The condo has a spectacular view of the ocean. It is beautifully decorated and the kitchen has all the equipment necessary for preparing meals. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. The pool area and grounds are lovely. Overall, a wonderful vacation!

Had an amazing time! 1059 had all the creature comforts of home. Great location for the kids to explore. We enjoyed time on the lanai and eating as a family. We loved exploring Maui and having a nice place to return to. Will stay here again.
