My fourth stay at Kahana Sunset,2nd stay in D-6.This unit did not disappoint as far as accommodations, cleanliness, and location. Since our last stay, air conditioning has been added and greatly appreciated. Minor inconveniences were the refrigerator and sun shade. The icemaker became clogged due melting ice which had to be removed to become functional again. As with our last visit the son shade kept retracting every hour and we had to get up repeatedly to extend it again. The beach was a lot of fun for snorkeling, saw turtles every day, and very calm during our stay. Overall, Kahana Sunset did not disappoint!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kahana Sunset. Our unit, D6, was clean, mostly updated, easy to access, and provided a spectacular view. Only a few suggestions: replace the mattresses in both bedrooms as they seemed old and saggy. Also the living room furniture was not very comfortable and could use updating. Plus putting a nice 5x8 rug in front ofthe sliding glass door would be a nice touch.

Kahana Sunset is a great little spot with a nice pool and small beach. The grounds are well maintained and the location is easy to find. D6 is in a great spot in the complex with beautiful views. The kitchen and main area are nicely updated and the decks have suitable patio furniture. Bedrooms are a decent size but bedding is tired and bathrooms are musty and dreary. Both main bathrooms are set up with sink outside of the toilet/shower area and in one case it’s directly in the bedroom which was odd. Fans in both main bathrooms, which are connected to lights, were very loud, and would wake others in the space when used at night. The kitchen has decent cookware and plates but nothing else. Literally nothing in space such as salt and pepper or coffee filters etc. We ultimately had a lovely stay because of location but the volume of fees and costs was high for what we got from the unit etc.

We had a great time in Maui and the location of this property was great! Unfortunately the property beach had very little sand to play and the water was a little rough for our kids to play in it. So we had to drive about 5-7min to nearby beaches. However, the nearby beaches (Kapalua Beach and Napili Beach) were family friendly, and the sand and water were amazing. AC was not an issue as they have floor and ceiling fans throughout the place. We brought our binoculars and we were able see the whales from the master bedroom’s patio. The pool was nice and never crowded. We cooked all meals at the house and never had a problem with missing utensils, pots and pans. The only thing it would have been nice to have at the house, were blackout curtains in all the bedrooms and in the master bedroom, one curtain that would cover the whole wall since it had glass (see through).

We enjoyed the location and views of this property. We watched whale from our deck whenever we were on it -- breakfast, lunch, happy hour, etc. It was great to have space to cook breakfast, 3 bathrooms, beds for everyone, etc. Highly recommend!

Nicely setup with an amazing view - appreciated the # towels & most kitchen utensils available. Only concern was the cockroach in the cupboard & the 3 dead ones we found, though they did spray the day after we got there.

Lovely property! Large enough for our 2 grown sons and ourselves. The only regret was no Airconditoning. July is a little warm to not have Airconditoning. Other than that, perfect!

Everything was as it appears in the pictures! Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. The beach was not huge but was sufficient for a cool down on a hot day. We enjoyed watching the turtles come around at sunset. Pool was a close walk from condo. property location is in a quieter area. we stocked up at Costco but there are groceries stores and a few restaurants close by. It was a full day if wanting to site see the road to Hana. Overall enjoyable property for families with younger children. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

Wonderful experience. The unit was clean, modern and very comfortable. Every staff member we encountered were professional and courteous. The grounds are kept immaculate. We saw whales breaching everyday from our balcony. Sea turtles were a nice surprise while snorkeling and they even sun on the beach right there at Kahana Sunset beach. Recommend Kahana Sunset to everyone.

The location of this condo is top notch, however the actual unit is in need of care & attention to detail. Carpet on stairs was filthy, and it didn’t appear anyone had vacuum or cleaned underneath the sofa in years. The ice machine on the refrigerator was neglected by previous guests and was jammed/not functional and required multiple calls to get it looked at. Lamps had burnt out bulbs with no replacement provided. Light over the stove not functional. This condo could be a five star unit, but seeing more than a few cockroaches during our weekly stay suggests extreme neglect. Basic kitchen items were absent: a basic spatula, not a single placemat provided for dinning out on the lanai, some dishwasher soap was provided but it was clumped together and dried out, only one thread bare kitchen dish towel was provided in the unit.I would happily return to Kahana Sunset but - sadly - not to this particular unit.

We had a fantastic stay at Kahana Sunset! The private beach was perfect and we enjoyed many sunsets and even snorkeled out to see the sea turtles and fish. The property was well maintained and the unit had everything we needed for our week long stay. We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay here. The property overall was very nice and the condo was great. It was stocked with everything a normal kitchen would have. The layout was nice and beds were comfortable. I really like the low key feel of this place as apposed to a big resort. You can park just feet from your front door, use the poolside grills (which were super clean) and play on the small secluded beach without crowds. The ocean view was nice. We traveled with 4 kids and being able to stock up at Costco when we landed and prepare most of our own meals made our trip much more affordable as food on Maui is very expensive. My only complaint is before we arrived I check with the rental company regarding the on-site amenities and was told that there is a gym and an on-site restaurant and both are open for business. Perhaps they mixed this place up with another property because this place has neither of these. Still 5 stars though because I don’t think their actual listing claims to have these.
