Overall, the property met our needsRecommendations would include upgrading the TV to a smart TV so your guest can use their own Netflix accounts as an exampleThe patio furniture was rusted and was not something we were not going to use because of the condition. The property itself was very nice and very clean and well kept with very good views of the ocean. The unit we rented had a very nice supply of beach items like chairs, boogie boards, etc. that was very nice.

I can't believe how thrilling it was to stay at Papakea. At our age we enjoy the rather slow, peaceful pace where we can just read our books or rest in the sun. Unit D209 gave us an excellent view of the grounds and ocean so we spent much of our time on the lanai enjoying the sights. We will be returning next October, for sure.

Papakea is a lovely resort with beautiful views of the ocean, sunsets, and wildlife! The residents and staff are so friendly, and all the services you need are just steps away from your apartment! A putting green, pickleball, pools, hot tubs, wonderful landscaping, and its quiet, safe and convenient to so many things! Papakea is a must stay!

We had a great stay. Waking up every morning to such a view made our vacation exceptional. The pool and spa were right next to the ocean & the water filter at the cabana was an added benefit. The BBQ grills were in perfect working order. Our shower was awesome, the washer & dryer & all the kitchen utensils were so convenient. We were close to many beaches, shops & restaurants. The only thing less than ideal was running out of paper towels & toilet paper. The other benefit was payment protection in case of illness prior to arrival. Thank you for a PERFECT stay.

We loved our stay here! Perfect walking distance to the beach, yummy food, or a short drive to anywhere else we wanted to go! The grounds are better than pictured and kept pristine! If we ever get the opportunity to return to Maui we are sure to stay here again!

Overall we had a great stay in this condo. The property is very nice and location is super convenient. Lots of restaurants, a food truck park, and grocery store within walking distance. Both pools are nice and we also enjoyed the hottub and the little golf area.
Things to note that I wasn't aware of-- BUT this could have been my oversight when reading the description- is that the amount we paid was more than what we anticipated. There are additional fees tacked on and they also charge you for wifi and parking at the resort. Also, it's ocean front, but doesn't have a swimming beach. It wasn't an issue though because there is a swimming beach in front of the next-door property and it's a very short walk.
All that being said- I would definitely recommend the property and would book again.

First time staying at Papakea. Very family friendly oceanfront property. We enjoyed the amenities the resort had to offer including shuffleboard and a putting green.

Pleasant property. Kitchen was very well equipped. Furniture was in great shape and the bed was very comfy. It was quite clean and had adequate cleaning supplies to maintain the unit during our stay.

We have stayed at the Papakea resort four times over the last 22 years and always have a wonderful experience. 4 days into our stay, we realized that 9 days weren't enough and were easily able to extend our stay an extra two days (luckily our condo was available a few days between our stay and the next guest's). This condo doesn't have air conditioning, but it's not something we've ever used during our previous stays at Papakea. Keep the sliding door open and you'll get a fantastic breeze. Looking forward to our next visit.

Both our unit and that of our son's family were terrific. Our unit, in particular was well appointed..such as nice lamp shades and towels. The unit management was responsive to our needs when we ran into a small glitch. I would rent this unit and our son's unit again.........

We loved the peaceful location of this unit, the beautiful view from the deck, and how this resorts sits on the boardwalk to restaurants & bars. It was fun to visit with returning regulars at the ocean lawn at Papakea & learn of the favorite sites to see nearby. We'll be back next year with our kids' families!

This location is beautiful! The condo is very clean and well maintained. My only suggestion/complaint is that the master bedroom does not have any blinds and when I say it’s light in there at night, I had to wear a sleep mask because it was so bright from the parking lot lights shining in. Also, there is no air so the windows need to be open and the bedroom windows are on parking lot side so you hear that activity. The bed was very comfortable and the breeze off the ocean made it cool down nice at night for good sleeping. Overall I would definitely stay here again. The property is beautiful.

The floors were dirty. The furniture old, dirty and out dated. Over priced. The sheets did not fit the bed. The sliding doors to the washer & dryer stuck. The refrigerator outdated with rust in the freezer.

Papakea D209 was a perfect place to stay! Really enjoyed the beauty walking around Papakea resort and especially loved being so close to the ocean. This location had everything we needed and wanted! We really feel like we got the full Hawaii experience inside and out of this property! The bed was very comfortable after a long day outside, and we really liked sitting on the lanai in the evening. Such a calm and relaxing place. The kitchen made eating in a breeze, but we also enjoyed some meals at the nearby eateries. The property management company was very good to make sure we were happy throughout our stay and attended quickly to anything we needed. It was nice that they were so responsive. You can tell they really care about keeping the property clean and comfortable for their guests. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and we plan to stay again in the future.

The location was great - right on the ocean and only a couple minutes walk to groceries and food trucks. We were very worried about no AC but it was nice and cool at night and we slept great with the fans on.

it tells you the the condo is cooled by "ocean breezes" which romantics' the expected stay but in reality what they are not telling you is there is NO air conditioning. The place was like a sauna when we walked in. Cooking, washing clothes and even taking a show made it worse. We called and asked them to change the reservation but all they brought us were fans and then promised to look into other options for us and never called back or answered. This is false advertising and we had to live in a wind tunnel just to bare the heat. We lived on the deck the whole time. The placed is cute and the bed real comfortable but the listing agent needs to be honest about the lack of air conditioning. We are from a hot area so generally not sensitive. Other places had it so do not understand why it could not be added. Would not recommend to anyone!
