Notice: Beginning August 10 through September 30, 2026 (subject to change), guests may experience construction noise, heavy equipment activity, and intermittent canal bridge closures due to the resort's Phase 1 Seawall Repair Project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some ocean-side rock restoration occurring as early as 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM depending on tide conditions.

One of Maui's popular vacation spots, Papakea is a peaceful Hawaiian Style low rise resort situated on 13 acres right on the ocean just a short walk to north Kaanapali Beach. The lushly landscaped grounds are immaculately maintained and adorned with red ginger and red palms. At dusk, every evening, the magical twinkling tiki lights are lit and reflect on the Koi ponds through-out the property. Papakea's location is as good as it gets! Within minutes, an easy walk to Duke's, shopping center, Farmers Market, coffee shops, sandy beaches, snorkeling and surfing.
Canal Repair Project Notice:
Papakea Resort will undergo a canal repair project from December 17, 2025 through mid-September 2026. Work will take place Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Guests may experience significant construction noise during these hours. Equipment and materials will be staged along the canal, resulting in limited parking in some areas. Holiday work is not expected.

The property was very nice and enjoyable during our stay. We would stay again if they cleaned it a little better. The host brought us a new broom to help us clean up. I would find a way to have the garbage can under the sink instead of open in the kitchen. The bed was nice, however either needs a new mattress or protective cover.

Our favorite thing about this property was watching 3 baby whales' antics every morning and evening from the lanai, just like playful puppies breaching and slapping their tails and waving their flippers. This corner unit was just perfect for our needs. We will rent here again.

Papakea is located close to several restaurants and shopping. Views of the whales, during season, are right out from the lanai. Washer and dryer in the room is a bonus.

The corner room and Lanai were perfect every morning to drink our coffee, hear and see the crashing waves and people watch. The sunsets from the Lanai 🌄 were amazing. I will be framing some of my pictures. We saw a beautiful rainbow 🌈 also. This is a quiet property, wish they had a bar and restaurant though.

Papakea is a very special resort with large grounds, mature gardens and low rise construction it has a real island feel and pace. We love staying here and Unit A301 Is good as it gets - - direct ocean view corner unit with glass on two walls providing direct simultaneous views of Molokai and Lanai

Looked exactly as pictured. The lanai was awesome, room for two loungers and a table. Stayed in December and was able to leave the sliding glass doors/windows open all the time and even though the bedroom is in the back, was able to hear the ocean all night long. There is a place with coffee and great pastries (Cruzin' Cafe just a block away). Also loved Honokowai Okazuya which was also walking distance; great to grab take out there and eat on the lanai. There is a back entrance for pedestrians and cars to the property which was nice since this building was a little ways from the main entrance. Great beach about two hotels away (5 minute walk). Pools were nice, but not shaded.

The view the people the island this hole place was amazing and all ready trying to figure out my next stay here and I recommend 2weeks cause 7 days for us was not long enough. The picture of the place does not give it justice I recommend this place to everyone, we’ll be staying here again and again.
