The view from the room was outstanding. The room was as described and had plenty of amenities for our week stay. The bed was very comfortable. The Ilikai is very convenient to the Ala Moana Mall, restaurants and groceries. Jeannie responded quickly to our requests/questions. We would stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay and especially loved to hang out on the balcony. The apartment was stocked with enough towels, toiletries, soaps to last us for our 8 day stay. We appreciated having access to the pots/pans and dishes during our stay. The complex is in a great area with easy access to the lagoon and beach. We will definitely visit again!

Everything was pretty amazing. We will be back again in a few months for work, and will be hoping to get this same place. Having a fridge and microwave and stove on a long trip makes all the difference.

The Ilikai is a very nice property. This unit looked nice online and was a great price. Check in was smooth. Bed was very comfortable. TV was difficult to get started and would shut down unexpectedly.
Main problems were cleanliness of the unit and bad smell under the sink. When you went to open the silverware drawer the smell almost knocks you over. The shower floor was also very dirty. My wife insisted that we call the property manager to get it cleaned. They came during our second day and cleaned again. It was still filthy. I went to longs and purchased bleach and she scrubbed the floor. We also had to block the drains with wet rags to keep the sewer smell at bay.

Please, explain to me why Spectrum(wi-fi) that I used in the condo has my personal info? there is no Spectrum service here in my area. They have contacted me, I'm very disappointed. The vents in bath and kitchen were covered with dust, small insects on counters, shower, vanity. no grab bars in shower nor rubber backing on bathmat. Awful odor under sink, and cabinets, no dishwasher to sanitize dishes, flatware. Enjoyed having 2 restaurants in the building and the wonderful ocean view.

Great location! Easy access to the beach! Walking distance to lots of restaurants. Enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony in the evening as the sunset and in the morning as the surfers arrived for sunrise!

We were shocked to find out that they would be doing the annual maintenance on the heated pool. There was no communication from the Ilikai about when the pool would reopen. We choose the Ilikai for the heated pool so we were very disappointed.

Stayed in this apartment for nearly 2 weeks in July.
Only issue/concern was the pull out bed/sofa mattress - there was a smell on the mattress and it likely needs replacement/deep clean.
Air conditioner worked great and the apartment was clean.
Excellent communication with the host with a near immediate response.
Highly recommend staying at this apartment.

We loved our stay! The location was close to all sorts of shops and the beach voew was stellar! The walk to the beach was nice and short. The beds were very comforting and the billows were great! I did only wish the host would provide better information on the area and more supplies. There was no map of the building or times everything was open. Considering its an island and we couldnt bring our own gear we would have loved if there were beach chairs and an umbrella. Just personal thoughts but we loved the location and stay and would definitely come back.

We have rented this same unit in the past and found it to be just right for our needs. I had some difficulty with the new lock & unlock procedure, but was finally able to figure it out for easy entry and exit. We would highly recommend this VRBO for interested short-term renters.

We had a very nice stay at the Ilikai VRBO. Ocean views were wonderful and a real highlight. Furnishings were nice and both the king bed and the pull out couch were comfortable. The AC and other appliances worked well and access to the unit was simple and secure. The only disappointment, which is not a VRBO or owner issue, was the $45/day valet parking. Self parking is $28 and about 1-block away - but without in/out privileges. We would definitely consider staying here on our next trip to Honolulu.

Property has been updated quite a bit but really needs a paint job.. my biggest complaint was the very strong musty odor when the air conditioner was running and also when you opened the kitchen cupboard. Bed was comfortable but I agree with several other reviews that the pillows are old and need replaced.. most everything you need is provided but it’s all pretty old ..

This property is a bit tired (described as completely remodeled), and could do with a dishwasher and some new pillows. The location is very convenient, next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and a short walk to Ala Moana shops.

On a prior review someone mentioned the mildew/mold on shower curtain. I expected this would have been taken care of and it definitely was not. There is mildew/mold up and down the curtain and very disgusting to use. No exhaust fan in the bathroom which would explain the mold. The large stove burner does not function.
A plus is the laminate flooring instead of carpet in the living area.
The dust and mold contribute to the very poor air quality in the room. We were unable to sleep with the AC on / which forced us to leave the patio doors wide home, unfortunately the nights were warm and we were unable to get a good nights sleep during our four night stay.

The floors had several places that needed cleaning. Shower curtain had mold on it, bathroom wall is cracked and needs repair and painting, shower vent needs cleaning. Lanai hasn't been washed in a long time. The large seam along the bottom of the drapes were ripped. My wife being the excellent seamstress that she is, went and purchased needle and thread and spent an hour repairing them The place has all the amenities but the air conditioning needs a small baffle from the protruding short walls to direct the cold air down and not blow at you when sitting on the couch or laying on the bed. Would be a relatively inexpensive fix. It was our 52nd anniversary and we were expecting a little more from this property. We have stayed at the Ilikai several times before and always enjoyed the location. Would stay again under different circumstances.

The unit was a bit more dated than the pictures show. The water dripped constantly in the shower and the air conditioner worked sporadically. But the wind coming in from the lanai remedied that. The view cant be beat. Location is perfect - away from the hustle and bustle but close enough. And no resort fee is a plus!! Valet parking was way cheaper than next door.

This place had everything! I have never slept better on vacation. The bed reminded me of a cloud tempurpedic or Layla mattress. We sleep on a purple mattress at home and were SO comfortable! Highlights were that we were able to see about half the Hilton’s Friday firework show, we are within walking distance to everything, and the host was exceptionally gracious. A+, would absolutely return.

Pretty good view of the lagoon and ocean. City noise is prevalent with the balcony doors open, but not a deal breaker. No crazy breeze on the balcony, didn't lose anything we set out there.

Condo was exactly as seen in pictures. 2 beach towels & low beach chairs, coffee maker, toaster, ironing board provided..
View is amazing and location is wonderful. Easy access to salt water lagoon next door, beach & beach walk. We were pleased entire hotel & patio are smoke-free. Smoking area provided along walkway from patio to beach. Bus stops on each side of street in front of hotel & is easy way to get around. (Cost only $1 for seniors or $2.75 for everyone else.) Didn't realize until last day of stay that you can take the bus to the north shore. Short ride to Ala Moana shopping center w/great food court and Target, where groceries/supplies are cheaper than ABC store although there is one of those right across the street. Loved the Harbor Pub which is 1 block just around the corner overlooking the harbor. Lobby opens to beautiful garden-like patio in back overlooking ocean/harbor. Fri. night free entertainment with live Hawaiian music & hula dancers. Sun. night free live salsa-type music & dancing all on patio. Safe area.

The location was perfect for us. The view was beautiful. The bed was so comfy. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the ocean. We chose this location because it is close to my daughter and her family at Hickam. It was extremely easy to travel between the condo and her home. We will definitely stay here again.
