This condo has beautiful views of the ocean and sunset from the lanai! It is conveniently located and close to many great restaurants. We felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay and the free parking was very convenient. We would highly recommend this place!

Our 3-week stay here has been wonderful and memorable! Not only was it a birthday celebration for both my husband and I, but it was also a perfect way to celebrate the end of my cancer treatments!
We were able to explore the island and at the end of the day, take in the breathtaking views on the lanai. We slept to the sounds of the crashing waves each night! For the first two weeks, we’d watch for the green flash, but many times it would be overcast. However, on our last week, we saw it 3x! Amazing!
The condo was stocked with a variety of things. I especially appreciated the selection of books, board games, and trivia cards.
The location seemed perfect for exploring the island. In our 3 week stay, we were able to cover most of the places we wanted to visit and more! It was great that there were umbrellas and extra towels that were easy to bring along as well.
Holly was available to answer any questions and always responded promptly. She was an excellent host! When the WiFi was down, she was able to fix it/help us remotely. We would 100% come back here in the future! Thank you for sharing this wonderful home and for helping make this trip so memorable for my family.

Late arrival to Kona, finding he property was easy via google maps. Parking is plentiful and accessing the room was flawless. Waking up to the fabulous view and amazing Lanai set the tone for the rest of the holiday. Slept most nights with the doors open so we could hear the ocean sounds. I won't repeat all the great things about this property already covered in other reviews, as they are all accurate. We stayed the entire month of Feb 2023, I believe it would be difficult at this location without a car. With that said, there is a trolly that runs right in front of the property to town which we never did utilize.
Our Host, Holly, was fantastic. We had a few questions upon arrival and she was very responsive, helpful, and generous to ensure our arrival and first few days were enjoyable while we got settled. A big thanks also to Denisse for your help.
We wanted to see whales...we saw them everyday. Spinner Dolphins, Turtles, fish, etc...all can be spotted right off the Lanai.
Property is clean and well maintained. Pool was generally very quiet, with ample loungers and free wifi around the pool area which was nice. Once the sun disappeared around the pool, it was a quick shift to the grass and loungers out by the ocean for full sun for the rest of the day. It should be mentioned that the pool is deeper and I would think would be good for young children. There is a small shallow area on the stairs on the way in, then it quickly drops to 6-7 feet. This was not an issue for our family, but could be for a family with young children.
Condo was extremely well stocked, we wanted for nothing during our stay and Holly ensured we were taken care of....a fabulous host and a fantastic property!!

We made the mistake of splitting our trip between this location and the other side of the island, we immediately wanted to come back to this property upon check out.
The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook at home. We were traveling with a 4 year old, Holly had all the beach gear and toys we needed to enjoy the nice sandy swimming spots within walking distance.
The condo was extremely clean and comfortable, the veiws were amazing and the air conditioning was an absolute life saver.
If the condo would have been available we would have abandoned our multi-million dollar second location and come back here, this place really had it all!

This property was very easy to check into. Once inside everything you could possibly need is there. Kitchen is well stocked and there's plenty of supplies for the beach. There's towels, chairs, even some lotion. There was wonderful smelling handmade soaps in the bathroom. Holly even had someone bring me an extra bar. We sat on the balcony and watched surfers for our first few days during high surf. This is also a great location to get to several places around the island.
The beds are very comfortable!

Our family of four stayed here for three nights and had a great experience. The view is amazing, the place is comfy and has everything you might need, including lots of beach gear. Pool isn’t fancy but kids loved it and we swam every day. There is a nice little beach about a mile down the road and it’s easy to get to any activity on Kona side.

We had such a great time! Perfect condo & location - we loved the relaxing lani & watching surfers daily. Beds were compfy & everything we needed was there for our stay. Nice to have a A/C after some warm days out. Book of information was handy. We went to the green sand beach & its amazing! Also enjoyed the octopus farm & Sunshine helicopter tour. All agreed time went too fast & wished could have stayed longer!

This is the first time I've ever stayed in a Vrbo but I imagine this one is superior to the rest. It was fully stocked with essentials, the host was super easy to work with and the location was great. I never wanted to leave the lanai, the view was so beautiful!

We enjoyed great ocean views from the lanai which was extremely close to the water. There is a small park next door which attracts surfers of all ages and their families. The surf was very high, so there were lots of surfers every day in the water directly in front of the condo. We enjoyed watching the surfers and the local people. The surf was so loud that we could never hear the people. They just provided a fun way to see local culture.
The condo is very nicely decorated, a key feature for me, and was well-equipped. For the beach, there were chairs, a boogie board and lots of beach towels. The reclining chairs and dining set on the spacious lanai were perfect. The kitchen was a good size and had some basics like salt, spices and coffee.
The beds and living room furniture were comfortable, and we never used the A/C during our February visit. The ceiling fans and open windows/doors were enough.
One downside is that there you can hear road noise in the front bedroom, which was pretty small, but after I closed the windows and played some white noise on my phone, I slept like a rock.
The pool and hot tub are nice, and the condo community is pretty quiet and low-key.
Overall, a wonderful place, although a little noisy when the doors and windows are open, between the road noise and the surf noise. Still, we highly recommend it.

We loved our stay. Left doors open all night and listened to waves, watched surfers from lanai, kids played in tide pools right outside. Parking is easy, close to everything, sunsets were amazing. We had a great time and come back again!

View was awesome - hated to leave to explore the rest of the island. The condo itself was also awesome; including the great breeze. Very relaxing falling asleep to the sound of the ocean (can close glass doors if you don’t want to hear it). Unit was fully stocked with all the basics. Conveniently located. Plenty of covered parking. If all you are looking for in a sand beach is to lay out & enjoy the view / a book, there are 2 sandy beach areas right on the property. Chairs are included with the condo but there are also some available for use across from the pool. The property manager was a joy to work with.

This condo was exactly as advertised and we can’t wait to go back. Arguably the best unit in the complex to sit out on the lanai and have a cup of coffee, watch the surfing or just enjoy the ocean and I mean enjoy it because it’s literally right there, just steps away. Andy and Holly were great to work with, they made our experience quick, easy and stress free…pretty much exactly what a get away in Hawaii should be. Just perfect. Mahalo!

All the beach equipment that was provided (cooler, umbrella and chairs) and the oversized beach towels made our time at the beaches just that much better. Same with virtually everything in the unit. It is beautifully decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen (which we rarely find). Beautiful sunset views from the lanai, a/c worked great and made for a peaceful slumber. One of the best places we have stayed in the islands and we have stayed on nearly all of them. Highly recommend.

Excellent property's,better than advertised, well stocked with basics,TP,paper towels, trash bags etc. usually condos have a starter set up Holly provides enough to last the week or longer. The unit has been recently renovated by people who did good work, very clean unit. The Kona Bali Kai is a nice property, the pool area needs renovation which has nothing to do with the condo owners responsibilities, garage security is very good, location is near Kona town and a number of beaches.Please note if I were to rent again here I would make sure it was one of Holly Cunninghams properties.

Hard to leave this sunny beach front property! Turtles, surfers, white fine sand and turquoise pounding waves to lull you to sleep. In our case we ended up shutting one sliding door as they are loud but wonderful. My girlfriend kept the other open no problem! Holly is attentive and quick to respond to texts. Highly recommended. Our second time to this island and just love it!

Great location--the ocean is right outside your door and its a favourite surf spot for the locals. It's three miles from the centre of Kona, close enough without being right in the thick of things. We loved this unit. It was perfect for the three of us. Almost anything you could possibly imagine for your trip to paradise was provided--beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, small cooler, guide book, binoculars, stereo, and recommendations for restaurants. We left our snorkel set for guests to use--we hope you enjoy them! We barely turned on the TV (only to watch a little hockey)! The kitchen and laundry were fully stocked too. And the unit and complex was very clean--daily we saw caretakers and gardeners looking after the place. Holly was good to deal with and easy to reach. The pool was underwhelming but we weren't there to sit at a pool! We recommend this place and would definitely come back. The Hunters from Edmonton Alberta, Canada

My children and I stayed at this condo for 2 weeks in March 2017. It is a newly renovated condo. It was very well appointed with all the usual appliances but also toaster, blender, rice cooker, coffee maker, grinder and a good selection of pots and pans. There was also a cooler, lawn chairs, umbrella and some boogie boards. I used the condo BBQs almost on a nightly basis and these were cleaned each day and fully functioning. The condo is exceptionally clean. The king bed and queen bed are extremely comfortable; I had the best sleeps there, although it was probably also due in part to listening to the waves crash against the shore. The master bathroom has the best shower. The lanai is huge! My sister's family rented in the same building and she had a lanai that was half the size. We ate all our meals on the lanai and played many games of monopoly, bananagrams and cards on the huge table. Watching the surfers, waves and sunsets cannot be beat from this vantage point.
In terms of booking the condo, the process was efficient and easy. Holly made herself accessible to contact if needed and was very welcoming with a nice note on the table when we arrived. I had no issues during my stay, therefore I never had to contact her during the trip. I received my deposit cheque in an extremely timely manner in the mail upon our return.
The condo is fairly centrally located in Kailua-Kona. Da Poke Shack is very good and is located in the complex, as is a rental place for snorkel gear, boogie boards, surf boards, etc. We shopped at Costco for the majority of our food with a few trips to local grocery stores. Hawaii is expensive! This was our 6th time to Hawaii (various islands) but I really noticed the price of groceries this trip. We rarely ate out because of the expense. Our favourite beach was Hapuna--I definitely recommend this for all ages! We also really enjoyed the volcano.
The downside of the condo complex (not the condo) is the pool area. This is in need of updating. There are cracked and chipped tiles in the pool and on the deck and the sun chairs are old and uncomfortable. The pool saw a lot of activity due to it being spring break and was not cleaned regularly. It is also located in the middle of the complex therefore you don't have any views of the ocean when you're at the pool; the pool is fenced off from the parking lot and main lobby area. It is dark, drab, run down and not very enticing as far as resort pools go.

We had an adventure-filled to trip to the Big Island and Kona Bali Kai #203 was the perfect stepping off point for our family of four. The condo is wonderfully well appointed, clean and comfortable. After sailing or snorkeling or riding boogie boards all day, we easily relaxed here. We also enjoyed beautiful meals on the lanai with the waves crashing just few meters away. The manager Holly makes everything effortless with her fantastic communication.

We really enjoyed our recent stay in #203 Kona Bali Kai and recommend it highly. This recently remodeled unit has to be one of the nicest on the property. The view is fantastic with sunset straight ahead every night.
The unit was well stocked with pots, pans, coffee maker/grinder/filters, wine glasses etc. The appliances all worked well and were very clean. The view from the lanai and living room includes sunsets, surf, and surfers.
We were here for almost a week before we explored the cool beach right under our noses. At low tide there are interesting tide pools full of life nestled in the lava rocks in front of the Kona Bali Kai. In addition to many colorful fish, urchins etc. we saw moray eels and sea turtles, all just a few feet from our unit! There is a narrow grass strip between the complex and rocks that includes 3 propane barbecues for visitors to use.
The complex is well maintained and very clean, as was our unit. Da Poke Shack which is located on the property was an unexpected bonus. It has amazing poke and other great food. The picnic table in the parking lot is popular but you can bring their excellent food up to your place for some fine dining with a sunset view.
If the surf is up you will have a show watching the surfers from the lanai and living room. You may want to close the two sliding doors to the Lanai if you are watching TV in the living room so the surf doesn’t drown out the tube. The sound of the surf is constant so you shouldn’t hear much traffic (if any) from nearby Alii Drive. Alii Drive is busy but the traffic is slow and there are bike lanes on both sides. It is great for walking, jogging, and biking.

I loved the newly remodeled unit. The oceanfront view & access was awesome. I liked how the unit had folding chairs, boogie boards, big beach towels, all kitchen utensils, glasses, dinnerware, etc. which made the stay feel like a home away from home. It was clean & maintained well. Thelocation was great. The manager was polite & courteous as well as helpful. I would recommend this property to friends, relatives, & everybody. I would stay here again if I ever returned to Kona.
