The condo looks exactly as is shown in the pictures - no discrepancies. We enjoyed our stay in this condo and would stay again if we bring our young grandchildren with us - I think this location is ideally suited for young children. The beach area is perfect and there is a lot of green space for people to visit and sunbathe on.
The only drawback would be for teenagers - which we had 3 of. There isn't much for them to do in this area, and Lahaina is 15-20 minutes away. I would have no hesitancy in staying here again, but I might wait a few years until my boys are on their own and then my husband and I could thoroughly enjoy the quiet - or come back next year with the young grandchildren, like I said earlier.

This property is a bit off the beaten path, but close to everything. Communication with the management was excellent. We asked for a repair on our first day and it was promptly addressed. It is close to excellent dining options, and grocery stores. The 2-story arrangement suited our needs perfectly as we had one member of our party who needed quiet space to work in during the late evening/early morning hours.

When I was booking for our stay, I typed in Ka'anapali as the location of where we wanted to stay. We have been to Maui a few times before and learned that is the place we like to be. I found this listing and even checked it's location on the map provided in the listing, which showed it right in the heart of Ka'anapali. You can imagine our disappointment when we arrived and discovered that it is not located in Ka'anapali. We didn't have another option at that point.
Upon arrival, the condo was nice, but not very clean. There was toothpaste on the wall in the mater bathroom, the bathtub was dirty in the master and the carpets appear very dirty.
Overall we were disappointed due to the misleading of where the property is located. I would like to request a refund for the condo not matching the advertisement of it.

Tricky driveway when arriving after dark, and parking spot was too tight for the upgraded Rubicon the airport gave us due to faulty equipment. The Condo was located perfect to watch beautiful sunsets in shared location where visitors could visit and be awed by the beauty. We did the trip up to watch the sunrise and was so happy that tour bus came up that far on West side so we didn't have to drive at that early time. The condo was perfect size for myself, husband and 2 close friends. We ate breakfast most of the time in condo and always wound down with a cocktail as we watched sunset. Loved convenience of Washer/Dryer and kitchen was equipped well. Whether its a timeshare or VBRO, I always wish they came with baggies or Tupperware. But I have learned to just bring my own. Didn't talk to property manager myself, but when my friend went up to office to ask question, there was a note on door that said they would be back in a couple days. I didn't get as much beach time this trip to Islands due to the people I went with, so having the ocean out the balconies was the perfect.bonus.

We spent a week at Kahana Sunset celebrating our granddaughter’s 3 rd birthday. I cannot say enough about the property’s beautiful grounds.
Everything is manicured, lush and green with the backdrop of the awesome Pacific Ocean.
It’s close to lots of beaches as well as shopping and restaurants.
This is a place we will return to!!

We had a wonderful time at this condo. We enjoyed the kitchen area, patios were outstanding with great views, air conditioning, pool was good for kids, and close by to a nice grocery store and shopping store.
The main floor was more updated and renovated. I thought the rug needs to replaced upstairs and bathrooms updated soon. It was clean though. Beds were comfortable in the second bedroom.
It was a good setup for a grandparent in one room and family in other room.

The Kahana Sunset E1 was a pleasant experience. The views are amazing with proximity to the beach. The pool was smaller than expected.
The unit was just okay. The updated kitchen was nice. The rest of the unit is pretty dated. The beds are uncomfortable. There is limited bedding in case you need additional blankets. And the bedding is very old. With only one set of beach towels, we needed to do laundry daily which was not convenient.

The condo had everything we needed and was roomy enough for two couples. The view was lovely to see whales from balcony. Snorkeling right from the property was a huge bonus for us. Many turtles and variety of fish to see.
The only downside is that the mattress in the smaller room needs to be replaced, it’s very uncomfortable.
We had a wonderful vacation.

Beautiful and spacious unit. Full size kitchen was perfect for making meals "at home". Plenty of covered parking. The highlight was the 2 decks, one off the master and one off the living room with views of Molokai and the whales in the mornings. One thing we were surprised by was the lack of Smart TVs, they had cable (who watches cable anymore?!), a Firestick would have been an easy fix so that guests could watch their streaming services on the TVs. The coffee machine didn't work and management delivered a new machine the same day!

Kahana Sunset is an older condo complex that is nicely maintained. Unit E1 is very comfortable with great ocean views. The AC is awesome! The complex has a beach and pool. We enjoyed our stay

This condo is in need of a complete remodel especially the bedrooms, bathrooms and windows. The facilities at this condo beach, pool, sitting areas was very nice and location was good. I would just not stay there again unless completely renovated

Amazing views of the ocean. There is no beach directly in front of the building, which makes it feel very private and quite - all you see is the ocean. There is a nice beach a short walk south. The condo was well stocked (even had binoculars!), the only thing we would have appreciated was some coffee. The building is quiet and there is a shopping plaza across the street. Our only recommendation would be to provide blackout curtains in the bedroom for a better night's sleep. Would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed at the Maui Kai several times in different units. This one did not disappoint. Many thoughtful touches provided by the owners. We especially enjoyed the beach chairs and snorkel equipment. The upgraded TV and cable was great.

This condo was perfect for my husband and me. It is beautifully decorated with large canvases of Hawaii! The amenities are very nice, big fluffy towels and plenty of them so it wasn’t necessary to wash for our five day stay. The view is wonderful to wake up to every morning and the sunset from the balcony is incredible.

The condo was a little smaller than I had imagined based on the pics but ended up being pretty much the perfect size anyway. It was well stocked full of all the basics plus some bonuses like Boogie boards and sunscreen. There was even some Mai Tai and Piña Colada mix which was a nice surprise. The Sleep Perfect bed was super comfortable...I want one now. The pull out wasn't very comfortable but I guess that's the nature of the beast with those things. The view was gorgeous. Sunsets were dreamlike. We even saw a whale, which I don't believe was supposed to be there that early in the season. That was a nice surprise. And constant sound of waves was hypnotic in the best possible way. Location was perfect in terms of proximity to Kaanapali and Lahaina and Kapalua Beach and Honolua Bay which our favorites. The beach directly in front of the property was unusable. Walking slightly north towards some red and white buoys was some nice beach and fun swimming. Overall the beach situation wasn't great but with the proximity such other nice beaches it wasn't an issue that detracted much from the experience.

Home away from home was good as it gets staying at this condo. It was very well equipped including the little things like candles and books to read. Within normal expectations, there was every item we could possibly want for the beach as well as to cook. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai, practically over the water's edge, watching whales and spotting turtles. We will definitely return to this condo.

I have been going to the Maui Kai for over 30 years and Maui Kai 301 is the best condo that I have ever been in! This condo is amazing. Because it is a corner oceanfront unit, the views are even more incredible. Every amenity that a person would need, was provided. The owners are very nice and attentive to any needs you might have. It was very easy and pleasurable to rent from them. If the condo was lovely, the outside was spectacular. From the lanai a person can see turtles daily, dolphins and whales occasionally, every Maui water sport and vessel imaginable plus the Lanai and Molokai islands. You can even sleep on the lanai if you so desire. Best of all the ocean is so close that you can literally throw a rock into it from the lanai. What more can I say!!
