We loved the condo and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We thought that the fact that my daughter and I had both caught colds would dampen our spirits and throw a wrench in our vacation—it might have altered some of our plans but we still had a fabulous time. The condo was outfitted with everything we needed to feel at home; a well-stocked kitchen, adequate linens and towels, and appliances that worked very well. I thought the bed was super comfortable. The owner was very accommodating and responsive to our questions and it was a pleasure corresponding with her/them. We are already considering a return visit to this condo soon! Highly recommend!

Spent a beautiful week in Honolulu at Chris’ place at the Ilikai, great location with views over the harbor, beach and several surf breaks. The condo was clean, nicely furnished, check-in process couldn’t have been easier and Chris was always helpful with tips and ideas for a great stay in HI. Really nice owner, easy communication and fast responses. This hotel is old with the AC in the wall loud when working, so if you are sensitive to the noise while sleeping it would be disturbing, mattress is comfortable, linens soft and good quality.

My opinions/experience as a mobility challenged but young at heart senior:
CONS: 1) Air contitioner maintenance is annoying and not discussed till you get check in info. Owners did accommodate my physical limitations and arranged for someone to handle for me. For able bodied person, prob minimal issue.
2) Noisy location which honestly is to be expected given it's Waikiki and bustling harbor, which I didn't consider prior to booking. Not much peaceful serenity, but convenient and massive sunset views.
3) No bellman/bag service before 9am or after 8pm. That's a Building thing, not a Unit thing. I was able to make special arrangements for my 5:30am departure tho.
4) Bed is comfy but high (for short or disabled). Owners went out of their way to provide excellent sturdy stepstool for me, but still it was awkward getting into bed.
5) Unit was well equipped, but everything in kitchen quite vintage.
PROS: 1) Convenient building location and amenities, with Hertz/Dollar rental on site.
2) Valet parking while pricey ($45/night) was excellent, very quick to bring car up.
3) Sunset views are MASSIVE and xtra pretty with harbor in foreground.
4) Plenty of comfy seating on balcony to enjoy watching surfers, paddleboarders, boats, and planes!
5) OUTSTANDING prompt, kind, courteous and helpful communications with Owners!

This unit was as listed. The view was nice. The lobby of the hotel was nice but the outside and upper hallways were dated. The location is in the midst of a "big city feel". If you like a lot of people and that vibe, this will be great for you. A couple of things we didn't prefer was the AC was old and with the huge windows, it was hot in this unit when we arrived. I would guess the owner is not in the state so I can understand not running it all the time if no one is staying however I wasn't sure I was going to be able to sleep with it being so warm and I was certainly concerned about sleeping on the futon to be near the air. But as it worked out, it cooled off just enough to sleep in the bed. Also, you had to empty the water from the AC unit each day as it pooled up outside on the balcony from the high humidity. That wasn't preferable. The beach towels definitely need to be replaced as they were very worn and thin. One other suggestion is the ice cube trays could have been filled with water so that we could have had ice for our stay. They were in the freezer empty. The beach was very busy but there were plenty of other beaches within driving distance if you prefer a quieter scene.

Our hosts even accommodated us with early check in which was the biggest plus! I can’t say enough positive things! I read all the reviews on this property and I would say they are pretty spot on. The communication with Kiersten (Josh) was friendly, prompt and so helpful. The condo is dated and not fancy, but it is clean and welcoming. The bed is extremely comfortable and my adult son slept on the futon and said it was great. The kitchen is well equipped (we didn’t use anything but the fridge) and there were added touches like a few laundry pods, a deck of cards and a few beach chairs and a cooler. I can’t express enough how good the view is. This is our first trip to Waikiki and it left a huge impression, there was so much to watch from the balcony and it easily holds 4-5 chairs. We are in a fancier hotel downtown Waikiki for the rest of our trip with “ocean views” and it does not even come close to the views from this condo. If your goal is to be on water, with show-stopping views this is the place for you and as long as you know it’s not a 5* resort your stay will be amazing!

My family and I just returned home from spending 10 days on Oahu in this condo on the 15th floor of the Ilikai hotel. First thing that grabbed our attention was the view. Amazing!
The condo itself was clean and well appointed. The kitchen itself is not new but everything worked, and together with the condo as a whole, had a definite retro vibe that harkens back to the original “Hawaii Five-0,” where the hotel was prominently featured. It’s charming. The location is also ideal. The heart of Waikiki is a half a mile in one direction and the Ala Moana Mall is less than a half a mile in the other direction. Beach access is a short walk behind the hotel, and the two pools were convenient when we didn’t feel like getting sand between our toes and in our bathing suits. The condo was a perfect place for us to have Portuguese sausage and eggs for breakfast, was a good location for us to leave from to explore the island, and get a good shower and a good night’s sleep before the next day’s adventure.

Pool was good and bar restaurant in hotel was good with lots of choices within walking distance. parking is expensive and the other options of marina lot and public parking make it better but its a pain sometime finding a spot for the $1 overnight parking - not anyone's fault - just the dynamics of the area

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The apartment is well set up with all of the appliances, cookware (although we either dined out or are pre prepared meals) flatware and dishes. The view is extraordinary with beautiful sunsets watched from the balcony.
An observation for folks who might be preparing meals more extensively, you will be required to supply everything including salt and pepper. The apartment is not supplied with meal prep basics. There is a first class grocery store in the Alamoana shopping complex located about one mile from the Illikai where this apartment is located.
Bottom line. Great communication from hostess. Lovely and very comfortable. Stunning view. Good location. I could live there easily.

Condo with excellent views from the terrace in the low key, friendly Ilikai Hotel and Suites. Unit was a bit disappointing due to the worn and dated tile in kitchen, bath and shower stall. There was Inadequate lighting in living space and water from air-conditioner needed to be emptied regularly. As a frequent renter, I rely on reviews that lead to clear expectations. Communication with hosts was excellent. If you overlook the tiredness of the unit, the views are stunning.

Located near everything you could possibly need for a relaxing vacation. Restaurants, groceries, ice cream, retail stores, beach, pools... all within a stone's throw distance. What a beautiful condo in a wonderful location! Communication and check in with Chris & Keirsten was a breeze. They provided many helpful suggestions and alternatives regarding parking, activities, shopping, and food.
The condo is definitely on the older side, but it honestly makes it feel like visiting with family in Hawaii--which I loved. I had a hard time finding the ilikai parking, but was able to easily park in the marina lot that was a much cheaper/convenient suggestion from Chris & Keirsten.
The condo has a very welcoming/homey-feel, and was equipped with pretty much everything you need (minus hand soap but no big deal since there's a market downstairs). I ended up cooking in the kitchen and they really do have it pretty stocked up! The only thing I couldn't find unfortunately was the cutting board. They have salt and pepper, but I can see oil being helpful for future guests.
The balcony views were absolutely amazing!! I was lucky enough to experience gorgeous sunsets, multiple rainbows, and live music from downstairs. Very calming watching surfers in the morning and the boats sail in and out of the marina. Overall, would definitely recommend. Thanks again for the wonderful stay!

The location was outstanding. Lots of shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Beach access was a quick walk down the ramp and the 2 pools were excellent. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai having our morning coffee while taking in the awesome view of the ocean. The condo was clean and well stocked with necessary items. This VRBO was everything we wanted for our first trip to Hawaii! Communication from Chris started early which was greatly appreciated, and he was responsive throughout. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the ocean, the surfers and the boats. We had a gorgeous view! The suite was very clean. The king sized bed was comfortable. There were plenty of towels for both of us. The cute retro- kitchen had appropriate pots, pans and appliances. And we were a 5 minute walk to the beach, 5-30 minute walk to fantastic restaurants and shopping. We did not rent a car, and only needed an ride share to site see. I stayed in the condo for about 5 days and completely loved it! It was equipped with everything you needed in the kitchen, which is great because there is a grocery store about 5 minutes away. They had an clothing iron which I really appreciated. The bed was very comfortable as well as the couch! The balcony was very clean and provided an amazing view! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Chris’ place at the Ilikai! The BIEW is just RIDICULOUSLY GORGEOUS, & if you surf, you can see a handful of breaks right out the huge window from the bed!
The kitchen was adorable & perfect for our needs, the BED was delightful— both soft & firm & as a Spoonie with serious spinal history, the bed ALWAYS makes a HUGE impact on my trips.
Having breakfast every morning at the table in the lanai, hearing the surf, seeing the vast spread of gorgeousness, it was glorious! Walking along the beach you see people paying oodles for a seat with not half so stunning a view, & with Foodland over at the Ala Moana shopping center (all the gorgeous preprepped food you could dream of & the best pineapple of our LIVES), gourmet with a view was how we did.
You’re right near everything but you can still hear the ocean!

The property was as described with a wonderful view of the marina. The bed is very comfortable and the AC was helpful when the sun was setting and for sleeping. The check-in and check-out process were very easy to navigate. We had a very nice time exploring Oahu. We found that Waikiki was too crowded and the north coast beaches are quite beautiful and quiet, like Waimanalo. We did think the property was a bit dated and could us some updating, especially the kitchen.

We had a great stay at Chris's Unit. It really was a perfect place for everything, VIEWS, beach access, restaurants and entertainment. We did have a rental car and used the Ilikai Valet Parking, it was $28 per day, well worth it. Communication and coordination with Chris was excellent. We'd definitely stay here again.

WOWWW that view just never gets old!
Check in was extremely easy, the moment we walked in we dropped our bags in the doorway and didn't even shut the door because we couldn't get out on the lanai fast enough, the view is just incredible!
The room was perfect for just my husband and I, we had everything we needed there. Only thing I would say that needs improvement is newer, fluffy pillows. We had 3 pillows provided (6 total) and all were pretty flat and we slept with all 3 stacked to be comfortable but that's just our preference. Bed was comfortable. The marina directly behind the hotel that you can see from the balcony is free 24 hour parking which is extremely convenient and a money saver. Just be sure to move your car every 24 hours and be back early to ensure you have a parking space. There is an ice cream shop and store in the lobby that is very convenient. Also located next door to the Hilton's lagoon and multiple beaches in walking distance. We also got a surprise Luau the hotel next door hosted that we could view the entire thing from our balcony on Saturday, and Sunday the hotel has a free band playing below the tree with dancing we enjoyed watching as well. The host also suggested the Wiliwilinui Ridge hike that was our absolute favorite (difficult to do, but those views are 100% worth it) and would not have done it without their suggestion, so thank you!

This was our favorite place to stay. It was the best of both worlds. The room was nice and comfortable, views were gorgeous, the food at Cinnamon's delicious, nice walk to do anything you wanted. Every tour we did picked us up in front of the Illikai.

The Ilikai was in the perfect spot for us. It wasn't right smack in the middle of the crowds on Kalakaua, but close enough to get there by foot if we wanted to go there. The sunset and Ala Wai harbor views from the unit were absolutely amazing! Perfect for our sunset photos and "Mai Tais on the Lanai"!
We totally enjoyed staying there. It had everything and anything we could have needed- beach chairs and towels, a hair dryer, dishwashing detergent, and even a Playmate cooler! The owners thought of everything to make our stay a wonderfully convenient one!
Beverly was an absolutely joy to work with on the arrangements. She made things really easy for us and even provided helpful information on the area, including parking, which proved to be invaluable!
When we travel to Hawaii, with all of it's beautiful and lush vegetation, we always expect to see some little critters here and there. But, not in unit 1508 at the Ilikai! Not one anywhere! The unit was clean, clean, clean! And that's a testament to how well it's maintained by the Powers family!
The next time we go, we'll definitely try to book again in your "Perfection in Paradise"!

We were awed by how good of a place we had booked and how grand the view was from our room. The unit had everything we needed inthe kitchen and in the bathroom. Just hoped the white towels were lint free as they were full of lint. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and really liked how it was nearby to everything, such as restaurants and beaches!

This condo was comfortable and convenient. All tourist buses stop outside the Illikai as well as the Pink, Red and Purple Trolley lines. Everything we needed was in the condo and the bed was super comfortable. The wifi worked well and the cafe in the complex served great meals. Getting in touch with our hosts was easy. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment while in Hawaii. This is a great condo. Plenty of space for four people and loved the little surprises like DVD's to watch and books to read. The view from the lanai was amazing whether it was morning or night. Woke up Tuesday to find Hawaii Five-O set up in the parking lot for filming. Actually got a pictures of several of the stars (my daughter had a long range lens on her camera). As for the owners, Beverly is the greatest. When I had issues trying to make the online payment she came up with solutions to help us. If I had any complaints it would be not enough toilet paper for the week - we called the manager office but ended up buying some before it was replenished. Also, the internet worked great on everyone's devices except my laptop. We never could figure that one out. Other than two small glitches we had a wonderful time and highly recommend the condo to any of our friends planning a trip to Hawaii.

The furnishings and decor were tropical, the Condo was very clean. Opening the sliding door, I felt the ocean breeze, you look out at an amazing ocean view. Every morning I sat out on the lani watching all the water activity. I will definitely stay in this Condo again. If you have any questions before or during your trip the owners will get back to you right away. I really appreciated the prompt response. Great place to enjoy your vacation. The location is perfect.

Apartment was spacious, clean and well-equipped, with a perfect view and a short walk to the beach. Loved that we had access to the amenities of the Ilikai Hotel (laundry, pool, restaurants etc.) Also liked the charming retro 60's kitchen in the apartment.

We loved having everything you need in the kitchen. There were plenty of towels. The ac worked great and it was remote controlled. My mom can't swim, so she loved the noodle and the board. The view from the lanai was amazing any time of the day. Communicating with Beverly was so easy. She responded quickly whenever I had questions. The trip was for me and my mom so the kind sized bed was awesome! I loved everything about this condo!

We are so happy that we chose Ilikai 1508 for our stay in Waikiki. Everything we needed was here for us. The unit was clean upon arrival. The view could not be beat. Beverly was quick to respond to any questions I had leading up to our trip.
Cinnamon's in the lobby was a fantastic restaurant, we enjoyed three meals there.

We loved the condo. The location was perfect. It was a short walk to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, as well as a short walk to the center of Waikiki. There is a nice path right along the beach that takes you all the way down Waikiki Beach. We could walk to other hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. The view from the Lanai is amazing. It was nice having a small kitchen. Didn't try the stove or oven, but loved having the fridge. We spent a lot of time on the lanai unless it got too hot or rained. The bed was VERY comfortable! Would definitely stay again.

Great little condo. All of the little extras, like coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, were a real rreat. We used them all. We traveled with our toddler, so the pool, and close proximity to the lagoon, were perfect for swimming. We enjoyed live music Friday night at the courtyard of the property, and then watched the fireworks from the same spot. Saturday night we were treated to more fun, live music, in the courtyard.
We didn't have a car, but transit picked us up right in from of the property. It made it really easy to get around. The room was little, but exactly what we needed. We would stay here again, and will recommend this suite to friends and family!!

Beautiful condo with beautiful view.
Well equipped kitchen and nicely furnished.
Had all necessary beach equipment.
Lanai was spacious and allowed me to have a small evening dinner party.
Would certainly rent again, as I indicated in the guest book.
Only negative comment was the lanai was very hot in the afternoon, which can't be helped as it faces the afternoon sun.
Solved that problem by going to the beach or the pool in the afternoons.
The large atrium lanai in the center of the Ilikai property was a great spot to avoid the sun and passing showers.

The property was in a perfect location and had beautiful views off the lanai. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a day on the beach or our own breakfast on the lanai. The bed was comfy, and room was a perfect size for 2 people. The owner, Beverly, was very helpful as we planned our first trip to Hawaii. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on! We used the bus system. The stops were right outside the complex. It was easy to walk to Waikiki Beach area, shopping, restaurants and bars. The pool at the complex was also one of our favorites. It's not a large resort type, but was very relaxing and not overly crowded. Highly recommend a stay here!

This was our first time to Hawaii and the Illakai is conveniently located with easy access to downtown Waikiki, shopping in Honolulu, or Waikiki Beach.
The condo is the perfect size for a family of 3 (my wife and I and our 11-year old) and the view from the condo over the harbor and ocean is incredible. We even had fireworks out in the ocean right outside the condo.
The event planner at the lllaki (Kat) helped us get a trip to Pearl Harbor set up and also chose a great luau for us to attend. She walked us through the various areas on the island we should visit and assisted us in getting a car rented for two days to drive around, snorkel, hit the food trucks, and see an entirely different side of Hawaiian culture.
In all, it was a perfect vacation and we'd love to come back!

This condo was perfect for our needs and had a beautiful view from the very large balcony. The pictures are accurate and say it all! We enjoyed the pool and the very relaxing lobby and courtyard as well. The location is excellent for getting about by walking. We even took The Bus to Chinatown to do a great walking tour at the Heritage Center. In the evenings there was the lovely sound of Hawaiian music (live) from the courtyard below. The bed was great! firm and large! The kitchen and bathroom were adequate. We had only one major issue. I must complement Beverly on her prompt response and willingness to go the extra mile to alleviate the situation. The Ilikai is supposed to be non-smoking but the owner in the unit next door was continually smoking on his balcony, which started our vacation out in tears. The Ilikai staff said they couldn't do anything so we called Beverly and she took charge. Thank goodness! So we only had 1 night and 2 days in smoke. It appeared this may have been an on-going situation with that owner, based on the Ilikai staff responses to us. Thank you Beverly for handling the situation!
